"It’s all about Beijing Duck at this Duluth restaurant. Go here if you’re craving one of Beijing’s most famous delicacies. They carve the juicy and crispy ducks tableside and serve them with traditional accompaniments like spring onions, sliced cucumber, sweet bean sauce, and freshly steamed pancakes called chun bing. Afterward, you’ll be given the option of a stir fry or soup made with the leftovers. Go for the soup — it’s wonderful. The rest of the menu is massive, and there’s honestly a lot you’ll want to skip, but they do have some tasty clay pot and stir-fried dishes that round out a very satisfying meal. Weekends get busy, so be sure to come early or call ahead." - Michael Tran, Eater Staff

"If you’re deciding on a place by its name, then Chef’s House Peking Duck in Duluth absolutely lives up to expectations. Their fantastic Peking duck is carved tableside and includes steamed baos or pancakes, as well as a second dish option, like stir fry or soup, which you’ll want to pair with your sliced duck. Our usual pick is the duck soup—a rich but clean-tasting broth with greens and tofu that strikes the perfect balance with the crispy skin of our carved duck breast. At $48.95, the entree could feed a family of four. And be sure to add a side of the amazing stir fried okra with pickled garlic since it's a dish you don’t see often in Atlanta. Go here anytime you’re craving great duck, but this beautiful restaurant is also ideal for special occasions and impressing out-of-town guests." - candy hom

"It’s all in the name, and Peking duck is definitely on the menu at Chef’s House. The duck is served in two courses, with the bird sliced by a chef table side. The meal includes both a soup course and the star attraction, a beautifully roasted duck served with julienned cucumbers and hoisin sauce, along with ten steamed bao buns. Peking duck at Chef’s House serves two to four people. There’s also Hong Kong-style roast duck on the menu." - Eater Staff

We recently dined at Chef's House - Peking Duck and while the food was good, it fell short of excellence. The restaurant boasts a pleasant exterior and a nicely decorated interior, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, the service was a significant letdown. Despite ordering a large quantity of food and spending a substantial amount of money, the servers rarely checked on us. The famous Peking duck, though well-prepared, was a bit too fatty for our liking. On a positive note, they offered complimentary egg custard desserts, which were a nice touch. Overall, we were somewhat disappointed, mainly due to the lackluster service. We hope to see improvements in service on our next visit. Rating: ★★★☆☆

This is a place that my sister and her family and friends would visit regularly. I was really surprised by the low rating. Take it from an Asian that this is a fantastic restaurant. Many dishes to choose from and time to first dish was very good despite a busy evening. Yes - 2 huge menus; one for those who love spicy dishes, one for regular folks like myself. On the very last page, there are dishes at the bottom of the page without photos. Don't skip them. Overall, there's wok hey in their cooking so I'm willing to bet their fried dishes will be good. Like everyone else, we had the Peking duck 2 ways. For the bones, we picked the stir fried version with ginger and green onions. The duck was carved by the table side and that's some good entertainment. Very skillful carving. Almost every piece has skin on it. We opted for the usual thin skin instead of the buns because we had other dishes. Sauce for the Peking duck was good too. Ideally, this dish can be served 3 ways. Skin only, meat only, and the bones. The Japanese tofu clay pot is tasty. The simple yau choy with garlic is full of wok hey. The vegetables could have been cut smaller. I thought the stalks were too big. Their version of walnut shrimp is perfect for me. I've tasted many versions of this dish. Most are too sweet for me. The shrimps are big and bouncy and doesn't taste of sodium bicarbonate (secret of bouncy shrimps). The last dish we ordered was the seafood soup with fish maw. Again tasty and well balanced. Every dish was good. I would recommend chef's house Peking duck to anyone in the area. Best if you have a party of 4 or more.

Came in Thursday night at 8:30 pm - waited about 20-30 min for our food- they had several big party. Food came out so good as always- I ordered the intestine with Chef House Sause (it’s crunchy and the sauce made it SO GOOD) and Peking Duck Half Hong Kong Style (not the Peking style- which is not as good to me) I like my food full of flavors. Each dish is about $19-$26 on the Menu- except the higher end one. Total dinner for my husband and I is about $40-$50 (which js not bad) Bring cash for Cash discount when check out

Pretty amazing place if you want some real authentic food. We had a separate room and ordered various items. Service was amazing. The duck was really good. The most impressive dish was the tofu. Super soft and amazing taste and texture. Dishes are large enough if you are not to hungry and want to share a plate with 2 folks.

Save yourself the heartburn, skip thus place. We arrived around 7 pm. No reservation necessary. The restaurant was pretty busy. We were greeted on entry. Our waiter was Wesley, ( his American name) and Josue. We ordered 3 dishes. A fish maw and crab soup. It was tasteless. The crab was imitation crab. It was like eating blotting paper soup. Our appetizer was a mung bean salad, which was mouth burning hot. We asked for white rice to tone it down. Our entree was a seafood noodle dish that we waited, and waited and waited and it never came. Meanwhile the table next to us got 5 dishes including the Peking duck and we didn't get our food. When we told Wesley he said oh it's in its way. 25 mins later it wasn't yet there. Gone fishing, perhaps? When we asked him for our check minus the entree there was no apology from him, nor did a manager come, I asked for one. Once we got the check we see the same waiter with a seafood noodle, and he walks past us saying if you want I can give it to you. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at his stupidity and clulessness of how to treat a customer. With the check he brings 2 free custards which they give everyone anyway.

We had ordered take here before. It was good enough to try to dine in. We were not disappointed. The service was good. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was upbeat. They had at least 2 private parties going on, and a couple of large groups, and everything seemed to run smoothly. We didn't wait long for our food. Every dish was big enough to share. There were 4 of us, and we all tasted each other's dish and had plenty left to take home. Peking duck was perfect. Would definitely come back.

Great food. Peking duck and pork was very tasty. Good size of the portions and very reasonable price. Pleasant and polite staff. We had a great experience here.

Chefs House: Peking Duck is a hidden gem that transcends the ordinary Chinese dining experience. The extensive Asian delicacies on the menu left me pleasantly happy with choices, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to offering a diverse and exciting menu. Our adventure started with the Jelly Fish Salad, a testament to the chef's finesse. The jellyfish, delicately seasoned with sesame oil, harmonized with the vibrant flavors of peppers, peanuts, and cilantro, delivering a clean and refreshing taste. The soup offerings elevated our meal; the Hot and Sour Soup showcased a perfect balance of flavors, while the Egg Drop Soup surprised with a subtle hint of ginger, adding a delightful twist to this classic dish. The portions were generously sized for sharing, emphasizing the restaurant's focus on communal dining. The star of the show, the Peking Duck, was a masterpiece. Not a trace of gaminess lingered in the succulent meat. The theatrical tableside carving added flair to the dining experience, and the accompanying wraps, veggies, and hoisin sauce complemented the duck perfectly. The presentation was impeccable, capturing the essence of both artistry and culinary expertise. The feast continued with a Fried Tofu Stir Fry in XOXO sauce, a delectable blend of textures and flavors that showcased the kitchen's mastery in creating memorable vegetarian options. The Salt and Pepper Calamari, a delightful contrast of crispy exterior and tender calamari, was so good! The abundance of food may seem overwhelming, but each dish was a testament to the chef's commitment to quality and creativity. Chefs House: Peking Duck offers a 5-star experience, where every detail is carefully crafted to provide an unforgettable dining adventure.

Yelp
Wow. This place is amazing. It reminds me of eating in San Francisco Chinatown. We ordered Peking Duck, Shrimp Walnut and Salt and Pepper Tofu/Ribs. The service was great and they stay on top of things. The ambiance is typical Chinese restaurants. Btw. They gave you sweet threat soup at the end of the meals. Will return for sure

Yelp
Very popular and said to be the go to place for Peking duck in Georgia. If that's the case, I'm happy enough. It's not NY, but it's good. The duck is nice and fatty with crisp skin. I can see why this place is recommended. We got the duck 2 ways and opted for soup. The soup has ginger which helps cut the rich fattiness of the duck, and it's great as a soup because ginger itself has a warming/hot feel to it. Outside of the duck, with 2 large menus, it was hard to decide what else to order. They have many options with pictures, and it all looked so good! I didn't personally choose anything I ate, but everything tasted nice. The only thing I have of note is that the tofu from their A104 crispy tofu with salt and pepper pork ribs could be done better. The breading for the tofu was a lot and not crispy. Flavor was good though. They have private rooms for parties that would prefer that, but they stick out from the rest of the dining room. The exterior of those rooms don't match the interior of the rest of the place probably because it was an afterthought addition that wasn't renovated very well.

Yelp
The food was tasty and authentic BUT the Peking Duck, although nicely roasted and presented, wasn't the Peking Duck that I'm familiar with. It's roast duck that's served in the Peking Duck style. We also has the Black BBQ Pork which was a little too sweet. Service was pretty good. Lots of Chinese families and groups dining. The restaurant doesn't offer any alcoholic beverages. The place was clean and well lit.

Yelp
I got the Hong Kong style roast duck and the meat stunk. It smelt like it came out of a dirty rump sholla sghanna. The sauce was good though

Yelp
Sometimes a nice restaurant with an extensive pictures menu isn't the one that makes their dishes like the descriptive artwork nor prepares them as shown. Ok, so it was a novel way to make a selection after opening two giant menus full of pictures. The Chef's House host wasn't that much help when we asked specifically for vegetarian dishes. He did say one giant menu is for spicy dishes... We did find and ordered by the colorful pictures; like Okra and mushrooms and tofu and a few others that after having placed our orders and taken to the kitchen, that lo and behold what we had ordered was not available. We were also brought a cucumber dish we had not ordered...so it was a confusing start at the Chef's House in Duluth. However, the egg flower soup was thick and plentyful..note here that one individual bowl is good size for two persons. We liked the pork that was a take on the SS pork we are accustomed to. This was a fun choice. The Tofu with Chinese cabbage is not at all as shown on the menu but it was a great tofu with brown sauce big bowl. An even bigger bowl was the spicy general Tso like fish filets in a hot broth with the standard fare of vegetables. We also liked a glassy wide noodle spicy dish. The freshly cut Okra was actually a good eats. The dark mushrooms was clearly not made as we had expected, but we relented and made it part of our meal. Do not ask for water because they do not do water but they will sell you bottled water. The Chrysanthemum hot tea made up for water and we paid for it. The fragrant white steamed rice was ample for all the dishes. Chef's House baffles you with artsy pictures and we agreed that some that we ordered had good taste. We asked for take home boxes and I think we learned from this experience that a simple menu would have been much more brilliant.

Yelp
Since its opening in June 2019, Yelp reviews for Chef's House Peking Duck have been all over the place. This restaurant is polarizing. I'm surprised this place has a three-star average rating after 110 reviews. Our experience was great. I thought the food was outstanding and service was very good. Maybe we went on a good night. Maybe a lot of the bad reviews were left by people who didn't know what to order. Maybe Chef's House has gotten better. I first learned about this place years ago when I happened to catch one of my friends' Instagram stories showing video of the restaurant's Peking Duck tableside preparation. While the tableside prep and dish presentation help make this place stand out from a lot of other Chinese restaurants in metro Atlanta, my friend thought the food tasted sub-par and left a two-star review. She did think the service was good though. A couple of my Taiwanese-American friends, whose food opinions I trust, like this place and bring their families here. It's one of their go-to spots. So, from just a couple examples of opinions of people I know, it's a mixed bag, consistent with the reviews. My opinion: Five stars. Definitely at least a solid four. Chef's House used to be Kung Fu Kitchen. Kung Fu Kitchen was open for only a brief period beginning in May 2018: https://bit.ly/41K3ee3. I noticed Yelper Wing K's photos of Chef's House, Kung Fu Kitchen, and Royal China (also in Duluth: https://bit.ly/433RKmq). The photos appear to connect them with the businesses in some way (e.g., owner, staff): https://bit.ly/3pKyoED. For example, they have original menu images and in-kitchen photos. It wouldn't surprise me if all three restaurants are connected in some way. The restaurant concepts look similar, from the nicer-looking interiors, furniture, and tableware to the big, glossy, picture menus that more resemble magazines than traditional restaurant menus (Food Terminal is the same way). I like the picture menus because they make ordering easy. This isn't your typical Cantonese joint. While Peking Duck is the draw, Chef's House is an "authentic" Chinese restaurant, like Royal China and others in the Atlanta area, with a big menu that offers much more including high-dollar items. They have two menus, in fact. I refer to them as "Menu A" and "Menu B" because of the numbering. Menu A has dishes A01 to A137. Menu B has dishes B01 to B97. When I asked one of the staff what the difference between the two menus was, he said one was regular and one was spicy. That actually wasn't the case, strictly speaking, but Menu B did contain the spicy dishes. And they have specials/off-menu items too. Chef's House serves Chinese cuisine you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in Georgia. A few examples include A28. Braised Abalone, Goosefoot, and Sea Cucumber in Abalone Sauce ($108 for one), A70. Braised Soft Shell Turtle with Chicken (special price), and B35. Lu Ding Ji Shrimp and Frog Charcoal Hot Pot ($48.95). Below is what five of us got: A01. Peking Duck - two courses sliced and soup ($43.95 first course + $15.00 second course) A48. Grilled Beef with Cumin Garlic and Mushrooms ($19.95) A93. Japanese Tofu Clay Pot ($18.95) B24. Sizzling Intestine Clay Pot ($23.95) B54. Spicy Chicken in Grill Pot ($21.95) Unlisted. Kōngxīncài (空心菜) in Mandarin / Ong Choy (蕹菜) in Cantonese - water spinach (price unknown) Like they do in China, Chef's House uses the same duck to serve multiple courses. Here, the first course is sliced meat with Chinese pancakes, spring onion, cucumber, and tianmian sauce (sweet bean sauce) and the second course is bone-in duck soup with tofu and greens. I recommend everything we had listed above. All of the ingredients were fresh and every dish was well-executed and delicious. This place is legit. For something different, I suggest checking out the "Grill Pots," B51-B58. Super tasty, and fun presentation. I loved the Sizzling Intestine Clay Pot. For me, I believe it eclipses the intestines at La Mei Zi on Buford Highway for best Chinese/Taiwanese intestines dish in Atlanta. So good. Finally, bonus points to any Chinese restaurant that serves my favorite Asian veggie, Ong Choy. Not only that, but they make an excellent version too. This is a great spot for families and groups. They have several large tables with Lazy Susans and private rooms. One of my friends came here for a baby shower This restaurant caters to and is popular with the local Chinese community. As I was seated, our server kept talking to me in Mandarin even after I told her I didn't speak Chinese. Pay in cash and get a discount. Note: I'm leaving this for the end of my review because I normally don't pay attention to nor put much stock in restaurant inspections (though admittedly, I probably should). Chef's House failed inspections in 2021 and 2022. They scored an 85 B on their latest inspection on 7/24/2023: https://bit.ly/3o7rhFW. I couldn't see into the kitchen, but this restaurant felt very clean to me.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place and haven't gotten a chance. Good thing my foodie friend finally brought me here. We came here mid week for lunch and it was quiet. Looks like they only have one menu (no lunch), but lots of variety and with pictures! They have lots of delicacies such as birds nest, abalone, etc. We came here for the duck and we got it 2 ways. Obviously, we got the Peking duck and we got the soup (S) for the second course. You can also choose a salt and pepper stir fry instead of the soup. The duck carving is table side. I think our last is new at it since she cut a lot of the meat with the skin. However, I love the presentation and it was so delicious with the pancake and the crunch of cucumber/green onion plus the hoisin sauce. Duck is a little fatty which made it so juicy. The soup was so rich and the silky tofu and the bitter mustard greens really made tasty. I really enjoyed everything. The restaurant is large with many private rooms and the bathroom was clean. I would come back and try the stir fry next time. We (3 of us) were full with the duck 2 ways.

Yelp
All the portion are very shareable. Peking duck presentation and tastes great. Great place for family and friends gathering.

Yelp
I have been coming here for over a year now. It's definitely been more than just a handful of times and this place is where my family would include in the agenda! Chef's House is a little ways from my place if that gives any context of how favored this place is in my family. Upon walking inside, you are welcomed by the sheer amount of tables they have. When it gets busy - you'll definitely hear it as there are so many tables without much divider / background music to tune out to. There are 2-3 party rooms that seat upwards of 20-28 people from what I remember. We had called in a few weeks prior for those rooms. Service was impeccable. The staff is really attentive from afar which appeals to me because there are experiences that I had where the wait staff is too overbearing or disappeared somewhere, but at Chef's House - it was definitely in that happy medium zone. They are very attentive and will check on your table if it looks like you need something/someone. Now to the main point of any review - the FOOD! As many times that I have gone here, I still have not had the chance to really venture to the menu's extent that I would like to. It's not because that my party and I are picky eaters; it's because the menus (yes there are 2 separate menus) are simply huge! I love the variety, but I will say that I have not found anything that I disliked in all my visits. The the staples when ordering is definitely the Peking Duck (2 course - I always get the salt and pepper bones) and Hong Kong Style Lobster. Table side Peking Duck presentation complemented with perfectly cooked dishes from here is a highlight that I've had throughout my food ventures on the East coast. There is a reason that my family and I keep coming here time and time again. We can have a good meal and venture out more into the menu to whatever we crave that day. The staff completes the dining experience with their keen attention to detail and service.

Alexandria N.

Yelp
There aren't a lot of places around here to get Peking duck, so I was intrigued. But the food here didn't just meet my expectations, it exceeded them. The duck is so fresh and they prepare it for you tableside for a little show. The wraps are soft and warm, and they make for the perfect little bite when paired with the duck, cucumber, and hoisin sauce. The staff was also friendly and attentive. This was a great place for a big group/family meal.

Jessica D.

Yelp
I love Peking duck and was so excited when I found a restaurant near ATL that specializes in it. I've been here twice now and the duck is consistent. The Peking duck comes in 2 courses, the first is cut tableside and served either with flat pancakes or fluffy buns, the second is a stir fry or soup with the remaining carcass of the duck. I've tried both the stir fry and the soup and while I prefer the soup, both are forgettable- the first course is what matters here. Between the pancakes and the buns, I definitely prefer the buns. If you run out, you can order more a la carte. We've also tried other dishes here: hot and sour soup, beef tripe in chili oil, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp, cauliflower. I wouldn't recommend any of these items- the soup was not sour and the shrimp was covered in hard taro crisps that made it impossible to enjoy the shrimp. Maybe other items on their menu may be better? But I'll be returning for the Peking duck!

Diana C.

Yelp
We went to eat a lunch family, the beef was a little bit tough, the Peking duck was delicious, the lobstear didn't have enough flavor, the service not great they did miss a couple orders we did and we have to remindthem twicefor the same things, the restaurant was clean.

Christopher T.

Yelp
Fantastic food but the only option for water is bottled water. This is the type of .... That annoys me from a full service restaurant

Jackie L.

Yelp
We were in town for an unplanned visit. When we had down time, one of friends, who has been a local here for a decade, took us to this restaurant as one of his highest recommendations. Boy this place did not disappoint. Every dish we got there was excellent, but by far, their infamous Peking duck was the crowning jewel. There is an employee that will bring out a table to set up to carve the duck. The first part of this dish is sooo succulent. It pairs perfectly with some slightly sweetened plum sauce, cucumber, and rice paper for you to roll everything up into. What is not used is pan seared with onions and peppers. It is well seasoned and piping hot, somewhat reminiscent of salt and pepper squid. It was extremely tasty. As far as service goes, I usually never expect anything from Chinese restaurants. But I was pleasantly surprised this time. They were constantly at the table checking in and clearing the table. Overall it was a decent experience for a moderate price. Food was excellent and makes me dream of more!

T J.

Yelp
From the start, this place felt like it was nickel and diming us. Water? Only bottled water. Tea? Sodas? No refills. We got a whole Peking Duck but they left half of it uncut, took it into the back and brought out a small bowl of soup which they said was made using what was left which seems very unlikely. More likely, they probably have a huge vat of duck soup in the back. And wait for it....they charged us more for the soup supposably made using the duck we'd already paid for without telling us about an up charge. Terrible experience all around.

Michelle K.

Yelp
Chef's House has great Peking duck. The price for two was $40, which I would say is expensive but normal for Peking duck. The duck is so crispy and juicy, pairing perfectly with bao buns and hoisin sauce. This place is always packed. I would have enjoyed more bao buns, as our whole meal came with only five. This place is great for hosting parties and free parking!

Anthony Z.

Yelp
I give this place five stars. One of my favorite family style Chinese restaurants in the area. Was really skeptical about trying this place because of low reviews, but every dish ended up impressing me. Stir fried duck and garlic steak are some of my favorite dishes here. I've come here multiple times with groups of various sizes, so I've tried many different dishes and every one was good. Every dish was flavorful; nothing I wouldn't recommend. The menus are large filled with great pictures so you know exactly what you're getting. There are so many options available. The interior is nicely designed. Service is sketchy but I always got what I needed in a reasonable amount of time. They don't have free water so that's kinda weird.

Stacey K.

Yelp
You can see from my reviews that I don't give bad reviews often. First of all, I've had real Peking Duck before in Beijing. Second of all, the service was absolutely atrocious. I went with my family and my parents are native Mandarin speakers so I don't think it was any discrimination or miscommunication. There is a mandatory 18% tip already included so the server kept pushing us to order more food. My brother wasn't even hungry so we didn't want to over-order (which we still did). And we got charged for dishes we didn't even order or receive? So ridiculous and the staff were rude when we wanted to get it fixed? Come here if you want to pay for food you didn't order! My parents said the Peking Duck was vastly overrated and the color and crispiness wasn't right. Hopefully it was an off day, but it says a lot if the off day is that bad. Portions were tiny like we barely got any. They don't have tap/cup of waters here so they charge per water bottle. The dishes I tried were nothing to write home about. Vegetable dishes were bland, except for the stir fried cauliflower which was decent. Everything is overrated. But my main complaint is the service. I will never step foot in here again and I recommend you don't either.

We only come to Chef's House on Special occasions. Since it's Mothers Day weekend, no place better than this special authentic Chinese food. And watching the Peking Duck finely sliced in front of you is a treat. Our server Ruby and Lina are awesome. They are attentive, friendly and professional. I love the attention we get in this place. The inside is always clean, have a wonderful glamour and provide that home style feeling.

Yelp
Friendly staff, mostly speaks Cantonese. Had Peking duck only. That was plenty for 2. Didn't feel like staying much longer. Didn't have dessert menu, clean dining room and prompt service when called. Went on Saturday 7:30pm, no wait. Tips are not included in the bill contrary to prior reviews.

Yelp
Wow, this is a very polarizing place. Usually, 3 stars for a Chinese restaurant indicates it's a pretty bad place. I probably wouldn't have tried this spot if local legend Daniel B. Didn't rate it 5 stars. Chef's House is a very authentic Chinese restaurant. How authentic? Even with my very 老外 accent, the staff still spoke Chinese to my party. They also only served my party hot tea because real Chinese typically do not drink iced water. I thank the restaurant staff for not [correctly...] deducing I'm very Americanized and serving me that way. There's a lot of different dishes at Chef's House, but you come here for the Peking Duck. At ~$45 as of this review for a full duck, it's maybe slightly more expensive than it would be in Beijing, but not by much. My party also ordered a sautéed cauliflower dish that was frankly a bit overpriced at $18. After tasting the cauliflower, my dismay over the price was allayed. It tasted truly incredible. The cauliflower was a great vegetable compliment to the meat. The Peking Duck is served in two courses. For the first course, the chef carves it at the table and prepares a board with the traditional accoutrements: julienned cucumbers and scallions, thin roti, and a sweet bean sauce. The duck is purposefully carved to emphasize its crispy skin, with lighter amounts of meat. The second course is made with the remaining parts of the duck chopped up. You can choose from the traditional duck soup or to have the rest of the duck sautéed with scallions, ginger, and garlic. We chose the later. Course two was equally good as course one. The flavors that the restaurant unlocked were truly incredible. Peking Duck is a unique dining experience that should be enjoyed in its most authentic way. If you don't quite have the time/energy/money to enjoy it in Beijing, Chef's Table truly provides the next best thing.

Yelp
The best Peking duck in Georgia. Customer service was wonderful. I been going to them for over 2yrs now. Trying many Peking duck not the same as chef house. Other food was also amazing.

Yelp
We got the Peking duck, and it did not disappoint! The presentation, juicy/crispy duck, fresh veggies, perfect sauce and pancakes. It was all perfect. We also ordered some great Chinese veggies, and jelly fish salad. The veggies were admittedly a bit plain, but nice alongside everything else. The jelly fish salad was also perfect--the sauce and cilantro and peanuts! LOVE!!

Yelp
The duck here was so amazing, perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. We got the 2 course dish where the first course was peking duck and the second course we got salt and pepper stir fried duck, which was savory with a side of rice. We also got the cucumber salad, which was a little oily, but still savory and refreshing alongside the duck. The duck was very fairly priced for the portions and dishes made and the table side-cutting of the duck. Fantastic place, will be coming here again! Service was great, swift and reliable. I got there when it was opening so I didn't have trouble getting a table, but it definitely picked up as the night went on. The atmosphere was friendly and lively, a family place to share food and conversation.

Yelp
Food is okay. I ordered Peking duck. The duck didn't come out crispy enough. We come in with 4 families, we booked a room, they charged a room fees if you spend $350. Their white are not chilled. We ended up drinking room temp whites, is pretty bad. Room beside us smelled smokes from cigarettes. Services were good!

Yelp
Came here for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and while we've been here before and it was okay, I was sorely disappointed with the food this time around. While the duck was good (this is what they're known for), everything else was not so great. Vegetable dishes didn't seem seasoned at all, the beef dishes (hot pot and with vegetables) seemed overcooked and were nothing to brag about at all, and the noodles we ordered seemed to be a little undercooked. We had a total of 13 dishes and other than the duck, all were extremely subpar. People in my party could speak Mandarin and Cantonese, so the service was fine. Our bill came to almost $600 so we were quite disappointed with this restaurant. We won't come here again and I highly suggest you don't come here either. If you do, make sure you keep up with what you order and the cost of each dish.

Yelp
Service is good and food is not the best taste. Ambiance is very nice ! If you looking for authentic Chinese cuisine this is not the place.

Yelp
Chef's House Dine-in: 5/21/23 12:28p I went to Chef's House for lunch formerly known as KungFu Kitchen. Restaurant was relatively slow. Modern Asian accents decor with some very unique ceramic tableware set for each table. The menu offered variety of authentic Chinese dishes that included in both Chinese and English. Servers are very knowledgeable when asked questions regarding dishes. We ordered the Peking Duck and several additional entrees and side dishes. Peking Duck was carved in front of you at the table. It served with a platter that included crepe, spring green onion, cucumber and hoisin sauce. (Steam bao available upon request). As for the Peking Duck carcass, you will be offered to have it stir fry with ginger or make soup with soft tofu (there will be additional charge for soup). Although presentation was pretty impressive, duck was fatty and skin was not crispy. The other dishes were very oily and a bit on the salty side. Overall, nice restaurant setting with available space to accommodate big party (private party room available). Staffs are very helpful and attentive. Foods are inconsistent from past visit and need to be improve. But will definitely come back again in the nearby future hoping to see improvement.

Yelp
Definitely great Peking Duck and many other delicious dishes enjoyed. The service is outstanding and food came out promptly and always hot. Spacious seating areas with a pleasant atmosphere.

Yelp
Best Peking duck I've ever had! It was crispy, juicy, and very tender! I loved the side wraps that came with the Peking duck and the sauce and how you got options to turn the remaining duck into any style you like such as black pepper or even duck soup.

Yelp
I've been here several times with my family and we really enjoy it! Quick thoughts: - Decor is typical of every mid tier Chinese restaurant. Lots of seating too - service was quick! - some dishes are a hit or a miss. You just have to know their specialties. - For the love of god get the Peking duck! It's in the restaurant's name! The skin was very crispy while the meat itself retained a lot of moisture. Overall 4/5 stars since some dishes aren't that great but they 100% nail their specialties.

Yelp
TL;DR - Try their duck dish!!! I highly recommend you try their small appetizers. We got Okra and Beef Tripes. The okras are crunchy. Based on the texture, I suspect they were quickly soaked in hot water and pulled out. Sauces are drizzled on top of them right afterward. The sauce is thick because of the okra. The soy-based sauce is not very salty. Combining with okra, the sauce brings a unique texture. Beef Tripe is spicy but with a linger of sweetness at the end. Be careful with spicy after kick if you don't eat spicy food. We are not going to talk too much about other dishes. Some of them are a hit or miss. I have been here twice in the past month. My suggestion is to avoid any fried meat dishes. The two we got this time are either overly fried or overly sweet. Looking at the color of the meat, you can tell it's fried in reused grease. Of course, you want to know about the main dish, which everyone comes here for--the Beijing Duck. I am glad to see a restaurant serving unique Chinese cuisine! I have to give the restaurant a higher rating just for that. For the dish, the server brings a whole duck in front of your table. Then, they will peel and slice the skins off the duck. They will provide you with dishes of sliced onions, cucumbers, wraps, and hoisin sauce. Mix them and wrap it up like a burrito! The greasy and crispy texture from the duck, the sweetness from the hoisin sauce, and the vegetables provide a balanced flavor!! However, the duck meat is not as flavored as I would like. In addition, depending on which waiter is preparing your duck, you might get some crispy duck skins or chunks of duck meat. You want crispy duck skins!! Lastly, I am amazed if you are still reading. I hope you enjoy this place!! I don't have much to say about the service and pricing. Make sure you look through both menus. One has more appetizers and smaller plates.

Yelp
5 stars for the best Peking duck in Atlanta. Crispy skin, no gamey flavor, and since everyone who comes here orders duck, you know you will always get good duck. The duck wraps are to die for! PEKING DUCK - $43.95 They serve the whole duck tableside - it's fun to watch. They slice all the meat in front of you, and they're very fast too. The duck is served with very thin crepes (so good!!), and from the reviews, it looks like you can substitute w/ baos instead ... highly recommend the wraps though. Also comes w/ thinly sliced scallions & cucumbers, and hoisin sauce. And if you need more wraps, sauce or veggies - they will bring more. The ingredients together in your mouth - wow, so good. I'm actually salivating now, no joke. Then you have the option to do stir fry or soup w/ the meat on the bones - for my first visit a year ago, we did the stir fry (duck + bean sprouts) and it was sooo good w/ the hot fry flavor. However one of my friends said they did the stir fry recently and it was not good - so this time we did the soup, and we noticed other tables got the soup too. The broth has a really nice clean taste, and comes w/ Chinese greens too. Personally I'm not a soup person so I'd like to try the stir fry again next time and see if it still tastes good. FYI we thought the soup was included but they charge $8 extra for the big bowl of soup. FISH IN HOT CHILI OIL SAUCE - $23.95 This was ok - the others seemed to enjoy it. They use white fish, and the fish has some kind of flour covering - personally I wish it had more fish. It definitely had the Sichuan numbing oil flavor. Menu is huge - lots of exotic dishes (e.g., frog, crocodile, squaw, eel, crab, etc), and regular Chinese dishes too. They have two different menus too - maybe the latter is more Sichuan dishes? Next time I'd like to try their tofu dish - our server had pointed out that one of the tofu dishes was really good. They do automatically charge 18% gratuity when they present the bill, and they are great at making it noticeable so you're not unknowingly double-tipping them. FYI - closed on Wed.

Yelp
We finally made it to Chef's House for a birthday. We lucked out and were seated right away once we arrived. Staff was friendly, service was great and attentive. The items we ordered were delicious. We went for the Peking Duck (two course}, opted for a stir fry for the remaining duck parts, Braised Stuffed Tofu, Salt & Pepper Squid, and Salted King Crab with Glutinous Rice. There are two separate menus with a variety of unique dishes to try from. Hoping to return for another special occasion.

Yelp
Chef's house was a pleasant surprise for me! I had very low expectations of the Peking Duck, but the restaurant did a decent job with the cooking and presentation. It was close to authentic. We only ordered the Peking duck, duck soup and a veggie, so I cannot comment on other dishes. But the service was quick and we got our food quickly. Decor was nice and traditional as well l. Best Peking duck in the area for sure!

Andy W.

Yelp
Peking done was done nicely and served with doilies the way I prefer rather than mantou. Duck was also used to make the soup course and bean sprout stir fry dish. The duck was very enjoyable. The beef tendon claypot looked delicious, but the bean curd sticks were undercooked and quite chewy. Atmosphere was nice, seemed clean as well. Overall, meal was enjoyable and service was good and quick. Will definitely go back again.

Yelp
***FOOD: Peking Duck was OK, like the tableside showmanship but that is it. ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$$ expensive for the duck and other entrees ***DÉCOR / LOCATION: grimy dirty carpet, sticky floors, dusty, stark interior, scary dirty, really felt it was unsanitary unhygienic and needs a visit from some county agency ***SERVICE: SLOW SLOW SLOW and insolent service. Took forever to be acknowledged and seated (10min standing at the hostess podium in plain view of boss lady and servers, even though we had a reservation), slow in taking our order (we waited a good 20min) for them to come take our order despite trying to flag them. They just purposely ignored us (I don't think it was because of short staffed, maybe they didnt want to staff appropriately) I guess since they're the only business in town they can treat you poorly and almost every table was occupied ***RECOMMEND: NO. would NOT RECOMMEND. ***MEAL: Peking Duck-ok

Yelp
This place is really average. We ordered a bunch of things, and only a few things were good: Peking duck: pretty average. Definitely not worth the price charged. Scallops and mushrooms: surprisingly tasty, this was probably my 2nd favorite thing. Fuqi feipian (husband and wife sliced beef): really bad. Nothing close to the real thing, and their chili oil was way too mild. Walnut shrimp: this was actually really good. The portion size was big, the sauce was good, and I like the fried thin strips of taro on top. Shrimp with tofu: very average. House special fried rice: pretty average. Nothing special to write home about.

Yelp
Best Peking Duck imo!!! It's soooo goooood & the skin's crispy as well!! I can have the whole order to myself lol. It comes w/ thin crepes instead of the baos so you'll have to request for the buns if you want it. OMG... that salted fish fried rice tho. WILL NEVER ORDER THAT AGAIN!!! It's not fresh & super fishy to the point I have to spit out. Everything else tasted alright, a lil bit on the saltier side tho. Honestly, the Peking duck is the only thing I'll def come back for.

Yelp
Party of 2, we only had Peking duck. Overall, we're satisfied with our food, duck was well prepared, fresh and crispy. Duck soup took a while but definitely worth the wait. Service was just mediocre, not attentive. I don't like the fact that they charged 18% tip on the bill.

Yelp
Chef's House has plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is an ideal choice for larger groups as it has very big tables with plenty of seating, I took a group of 8 and the table still had plenty of room for additional people to fit comfortably. The duck here is the standout dish and reason you should visit, they serve it table side and cut/trim it in front of you, providing an exceptional platter of meat and vegetables/wraps/sauces. It is an experience to be had and the taste is phenomenal and well worth a visit. The service itself was slow and I would not advise going here unless you are going to order the duck as part of the service. The other offerings are about average by my estimation and the pricing is quite above average. That said, the duck is absolutely worth visiting for and I will be returning.

Yelp
Do it! Authentic amazing Chinese food. High quality. I was surprised by the tender juicy lamb meat and am already making plans to come back. Thanks!

Yelp
Peking duck is great for Atlanta area! Dining room is spacious. Steamed white weak dish was good but lobster was overcooked.

Yelp
We came with a large group and tried some of their food. First of all, restaurant is quite clean and we are seated right away. We got to try some dishes, and here are the thougghta: Great: spicy boneless chicken, fish in sweet sour sauce, chinese broccoli, duck is very good. Not recommended: tripe, pan fried noodle Overall its a good experience and we'll be back

Yelp
Plenty of parking by the restaurant. There is indoor and outdoor seating area. Although I have never seen anyone sit outdoors. Staff wore masks and tables were social distanced. My order was for too go. I ordered there and waited, took about 50 minutes, even though I was given the estimated of 25 mins. This restaurant has been around for awhile but it keeps changing ownership/name (?). Peking duck (cooked 2 ways): traditional Peking duck was okay, it was a bit more oily then usual. But the skin does have a nice crisp to it. Kind of wish there was more wraps. The sauce taste delicious (it's a sweet sauce). The stir fry duck with bean sprouts tasted okay. Fish on chili oil: feel like there wasn't as much fish and more cabbage. Very numbing...so if you don't like that feeling might want to steer away from this dish. Japanese tofu: very flavorful. Braised tofu and leek with soya bean sauce: a bit salty in my opinion. Also similar to the above dish, but this was the recommended vegetable dish by the waitress. Baked chicken with mashed ginger: if you are not a lover of ginger don't get this. Every bite you take, there will be ginger. Personally it wasn't bad, but definitely more bones than meat. House special fried rice: not on the menu, but when I asked. She said they can cook it. White rice came was complimentary. If you pay cash you get a slight discount. Overall not a restaurant that would be my first choice. They do have a large menu, but at the same time I feel like there vegetarian dishes are lacking.

Yelp
The food was delicious but the service is very poor and no ice water for customer the only water is your have to buy a bottle of water or you can bring your own water ---one thing is not really good no print receipt someone told me that is for tax evasion

Catherine B.

Yelp
Good customer service but food was not good in my opinion. Most of it looks good, but it did not meet my expectations. When we came around 6pm on a Sunday, it was very empty. So I was a little concerned already. But the place was packed by the time we finished dinner. Nothing super amazing about the Peking duck. Sucks to say, but I am probably not coming back since none of the dishes we ordered impresses me. ‍
