The Best Restaurants In Chestnut Hill & Roxborough

"A popular place to head to after walking through Wissahickon Park, Chestnut Hill Brewing Company is the spot for wood-fired pizza and a hazy pale ale in the area. Whether you’re sitting next to the fire pits on the large patio or under the rustic hanging lights inside, you can’t go wrong with their “Presto Bianca.” With creamy parmesan, mozzarella, pecorino romano, and pine nut pesto melting into each bite, the pie has a perfect combination of nutty and tangy flavors. And it pairs with any of the 10 beers on draft." - candis mclean, alison kessler

The Best Breweries In Philadelphia

"If Chestnut Hill Brewing Company stopped brewing and pouring beers, people would still come here because they have the best pizza in the neighborhood and a fun outdoor patio. It feels like the kind of place where you could meet a stranger and end up inviting them to your wedding by the end of the conversation. But the main reasons we like it here are the Belgian wheat ales, espresso-forward stouts, and citrusy IPAs. " - candis mclean

Google
Wowww!! The pizza is so fresh & flavorful!! The dough & sauce were delicious. Pizzas are small only 12’ I’m assuming its because they have a smaller oven but definitely the best pizza in Chestnut Hill by far! Check this place out!

Google
Can’t say enough wonderful things about Chestnut Hill Brewing Company! Hosted a surprise birthday party for my husband here and it was such a wonderful experience, from planning to execution. General manager Alex is such a gem and helped me plan such a fun get-together. Alex helped guide me on the amount of food for the number of people would be there, and it was the perfect amount. Also so accommodating with my tree nut allergy! Food and drink were delicious, and service was beyond incredible. Very dog friendly too! Can’t wait to go back again when we are in the area! ♥️

Google
The atmosphere, style, color, and setup were amazing. The food was perfect, pizza was delicious, and my drink was on point (Vodka Lemonade). Customer service was quick didnt have to wait long for our check. A must place to go after Wissahickon. With spring in the air and the flowers blooming made the place much more colorful.

Google
First time experience and we will DEFINITELY be back. My favorite was the pride toast appetizer. Everything was delicious. The beyond burger, the cauliflower rigatoni, and of course the beer! 🍻 Great service, the atmosphere was very cool. My kids really got a kick out of the booth. Thanks for a great first of many visits!

Google
A few stolen solitude moments this season sent me to a few places like, @chestnuthillbrewingcompany who had some good choices on the menu for the hour that is happy. I enjoyed my service, server and meal. My burger is a substitute for meat and it was delicious! The sips left some space for improvement on the flavor profile & freshness of herbs, as I tasted two of them. (Basil Lemonade/ Cherry Manhattan) My server assisted me in this process but the right tasting sip never touched my lips. The ambiance, food and funny this well known taproom was great...next time I'll stick with a mocktail or beer!

Google
Great brew pub. Large variety for vegans. There is plenty of off-street private parking lot. Staff was super friendly. We got the fried pickles, beans on toast, Trenton pizza and cookies for desert. The winner for us was the fried pickles. They had a batter coating similar to fish and chips. They served it with ranch and a sweet and sour sauce which went great with it. They are known for their pizza.

Google
We visited this brewery based upon the vegan options on their menu and we were not disappointed. Our server was very knowledgeable and reassured us that the options were 100% vegan. We went for the Buffalo Cauliflower which had the the right amount of spice and the Rustic Tomato. The latter was good with great crust but the sauce lacked spice. Overall, definitely a place to visit. Oh yea, the beer was great too and none of their drafts contained lactose

Google
Wow, Chestnut Hill Brewing Company is off the charts. 10/10, easily! Will be back for sure. Had the buffalo cauliflower and mushroom ragout pasta (it’s actually called cauliflower cream rigatoni on the menu… if you love mushrooms, this is the dish!!) … both vegan. I’m vegan and my daughter is not. We shared both and she couldn’t believe it was vegan and both loved this meal! 100% recommend and cool vibe. We didn’t drink, but if you do, great options too.

Yelp
e hosted the rehearsal dinner for our wedding here in September 2024. We had about 50 people and were able to rent out the entire indoor space. The owner and staff were very welcoming and accommodating with our menu and bar options. Planning with them was a breeze. We were very happy with the food. We actually had a difficult time hitting the minimum at the end of the night! We highly recommend hosting your private party at Chestnut Hill Brewing!

Yelp
According to the overwhelmingly good reviews, we chose to have dinner with a group on Saturday night. It was early, so I was surprised to see how dirty the carpet in the entry was. Not a good sign, but figured it was a fluke. We had to wait for our table despite making reservations a week in advance, confirming that day, and then receiving a call from the restaurant reconfirming. The place wasn't crowded, but they might have been short on help. We started on a high note. The waitress came up to the table as soon as we were seated. She took our drink orders, and a request for a kid's meal which came quickly - except for my iced tea, but that was okay. I was Impressed! The beers were fine, the mixed drinks disappointing. Same for the onion and mushroom soup. Sadly it took a long time for the adult meals to come. When they did arrive, it appeared that they may have been sitting aound for a long time. My naked turkey burger salad was so dry, that I poured ketchup on it which didn't improve things. The salad looked good - but I was so turned off by the burger I was done eating. The others didn't fare much better. One asked for vinegar for his salad and it took a long time to get it. Another ordered an Octoberfest special, schlachplatte, which looked like an appetizer not an entry, but it didn't matter because it wasn't good and he couldn't finish it. One fared much better, he got a Grilled Brewben sandwich which he enjoyed. Still, the company was good and we enjoyed ourselves until the youngest member of our party cried out in pain. Apparently, the seat of her wooden chair was broken, and when she pushed down on it to get up it clamped down on her hand. When her dessert, upsidedown peach pie with ice cream arrived, she was in no mood to eat. But the adults at the table dug in, and it turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The parents of the little one got her ice cream at a shop around the corner, so all things turned out well.

Yelp
We stopped here for an early dinner after checking out a few properties in the area. It's never too early to better understand exactly what neighborhood you're buying. The space has a mixed modern industrial feel with wood and metal accents. There are varied dining spaces at tables near the window, seats along the bar, and semi-private and darker booths (closed floor to ceiling on three sides) in the back. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We ordered the BANG BANG BROCCOLI (tempura broccoli + sweet chili + peanuts + spring onion), SUMMER PANZANELLA (roasted tomato vinaigrette + toasted baguette + cucumber + sweet peppers + heirloom tomato + peaches + pickled shallots + red sorrel + shaved gouda), and a TRADITIONAL PIZZA (organic tomato sauce + shredded mozzarella + parmesan oregano mix) to share. The broccoli was amazingly flavored and textured, the salad was so colorful and fresh, and the wood-fired pizza was perfectly baked. The service was similarly stellar. We were seated immediately upon arrival, the server was attentive, and management stopped by to inquire as to our well-being. I'm really looking forward to future meals at this neighborhood gem.

Yelp
Great job! Place was packed with a large group but we were able to get a seat at the back bar. Jake our server was awesome! Eclectic menu and was done Had the, vege chile and the arancini. Both were awesome

Yelp
I don't know why I waited so long to come here! I was thoroughly impressed by the menu and deink offerings. If you don't drink beer, there are awesome seasonal cocktails and wine. Ordered CBR pizza, the butternut squash gnocchi and mushroom rigatoni. The gnocchi was perfectly balanced with tangy goat cheese. The rigatoni with mushrooms was complimented by lemon and hazelnuts. Everything was excellent and perfect for a cold rainy night. For dessert, wr ordered the "warm cookies." They were not served warm but the server rectified this for us immediately and heated them up. Service was attentive and the meal was reasonably paced. I ordered an IPA. It was juicy and delicious, a perfect pairing with the pizza.

Yelp
A great spot with amazing artisan pizzas. We had a little time to kill and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Of course the brews are perfect on a really warm day. They went down smooth with the pizzas. My fav was the Street Corn Pizza. A great spot to bring kids because they had a selection of games to play while passing the time. Whenever my som has practice in area, my hubby will stop by for a god brew & pizza. It also helps there is parking next to it.

Yelp
This brewery is next to Chestnut Hill hotel and the Market. They have outdoor and indoor dining areas. I got the flight, which consisted of 4 drinks. My favorite was 6 Years of Beer, to mark their birthday. It was my favorite. For appetizer I ordered broccoli tempura. The broccoli wasn't covered with batter however it was super crunchy like eating potato chips. Also with the sweet chili sauce and chopped peanuts it could be very addicting. I highly recommend it. I got margarita pizza with some tiger spots on the crust and not over burnt. Good stretch on the dough too. It's a nice size to be shared among two people. At the beginning, we were not served right away, the bartender had to inform the waiter to go to our table. Overall, the service was very nice .

Yelp
The food was excellent. It's in a very nice location in Chestnut Hill. Went for a walk after our meal and found a very nice neighborhood. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
the food here is really great. I always get the party fries. they are a great portion for sharing. the pizzas are great too. I ordered the white pizza nd the margarita pizza, both delicious. they can be shareable, but I think it's best to get your own. the pizzas so heat up really well in the oven. the service is great, as there was a mix up with our reservation and they still sat us and were very accommodating. there is seating inside & outside for many people.

Yelp
Checked out Chestnut Hill Brewing Company for dinner and a drink. Got a hazy IPA. Service was really good. The brewery was elevated, not your typical brewery. I loved the vibe and we sat within the bar area. Hazy IPA was juicy, a nice paring to the pizza. Ordered a CBR pizza. Homemade ranch was great. The pizza was really good, it could have been cooked an extra minute. The gnocchi was awesome and rigatoni was also really good. Loved the fall flavor profiles of each dish. The chocolate chip cookies were a nice sweet ending to the meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Great vegan options! Lovedddd my mushroom pizza, and we tried to vegan strawberry rhubarb cake too.
google avatar

Ava T.

Yelp
Pizza was just okay. The crust was amazing! But the ranch dressing left something to be desired. The dressing left an aftertaste, which I am assuming came from the mayonnaise used. I would not get this particular pizza again, but I would gladly go back to try different toppings.

Yelp
some months back I ordered uber eats and had a pizza delivery without a seal on my box, which I thought was awful. To make matters worst, I found out today that the manager Lindsay does not consider this issue with the evil world we live in. I did NOT eat the pizza and will NOT order delivery again. If I dont have time to dine in, it's a hard pass for me. Im disappointed this issue wasn't taken more seriously. Smh.

Yelp
My Mom, my dog, and I had a great lunch here. It was very cold outside, but the overhead heaters worked great and I appreciated a place to tie her up. We split a really delicious white pie. I also had a hot toddy which was good. We really loved the overall ambiance of the outdoor seating and were very comfortable. We will definitely be back soon as we love finding places we can bring the pup. We also noticed a lot of other menu options we need to try soon.

Yelp
The food was great and it's so nice sitting outside. The only problem was that pieces of charcoal kept getting on us and on our clothes. Now it's hard to get it out of our clothes.

Yelp
I wanted to take the time to update my review for this spot! I have been here a few times in the past few years and I am glad to report that it appears they have found their groove! Chestnut Hill Brewery is a neighborhood gem that is nestled into The Market at the Fareway! I decided on a flight to taste a few beers that I haven't had and they were delicious and had depth to them! I am pleased to report the good neighborhood vibe still exists and the service was particularly good on a busy Friday night!
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Good beer and mixed drinks. Great food. Attentive service. It was just a little uncomfortable where we sat. It was a neat little nook, but the table was really low and there was no pad between my butt and the bench.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
A friend and I went here around 4pm on a Friday to have a quick birthday lunch. We sat at the outside seating area which was cute and trendy. We did not go inside. The Pros about this place are great parking, convenient QR code ordering & paying, and a varied menu (buffalo cauliflower is delicious). The cons are that most of the outside seating is picnic table style (you feel anything the other patrons do & kids were drumming on our table), had to wave down service a few times, and you stick your card in the system upon ordering - not a problem but then they chose my tip for me when I left. Overall, worth a try. Could be pricey depending what you order but a beautiful place to be on a nice day. Oh yeah, and you can bring your dog.

Yelp
Always great service at chestnut hill brewing. A tiny mistake was made on our pizza and the whole team went out of their way to correct it even though we didn't mind. Customer for life for the great service, food, and beer.

Yelp
Staff was very accommodating to our party wanting to sit outside. Nice food and beer spot in a lovely neighborhood. Let's dive in ... Beer (4/5): Tried the Motra and the Five Years Beer. The Motra had a nice flavor while I was a little underwhelmed by the Five Years given the hype. Would drink these again, well, at least the first one. Fried Buffalo Cauliflower (4/5): The pizza breading itself on this fries up really nice but I wished they used less of it as the cauliflower ends up sharing the spotlight. The Buffalo sauce on this was incredibly delish though. Pontz Pizza (4/5): The toppings on this were not evenly distributed and one of the slices was really really small compared to the other ones. If I was blindfolded I would tell you this was a fantastic and flavorful pizza -- assuming I got the mushroom, onion, and sausage in that particular bite. TL;DR: Had been wanting to try this a while and glad I did. Would recommend.

Yelp
I am rarely in this part of the city so when my friends and I found ourselves here on a Friday afternoon after attending a funeral we wanted to find drinks and burgers. We landed here. I was a bit confused at first because we couldn't understand the layout, but turns out it's a mix of many eating establishments under one roof. We ordered from the bar code from the plaque on the table and our food arrived (from chestnut hill brewery) promptly and efficiently. We all ordered the impossible burger which was delicious. The fries were decent and the drinks did not disappoint. I ordered a cocktail with gin, mint and grapefruit juice which tasted refreshing. We also ordered beer flights which hit the spot. The place itself is charming. Lots of strung lights and plenty of outdoor seating. Glad we were able to figure out what to do on this Friday afternoon.

Yelp
I went to the restaurant with a date because I've been Iron Hill Brewery many times over the years, I even took my grandmother there on New Year's Eve because it's one of her favorite restaurants. I like the atmosphere and the food, until my last visit 10/21/23. I know it was the Phillies playoff game and that there would be a crowd. We didn't wait long for a table, even when I asked for different seating the young lady was very nice and accommodating. The problem was our service. Tanner was polite while he took our order, but that was it. I ordered the Pub Burger, cooked medium, Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad with extra guacamole and dressing, my date order the Pan Roasted Salmon and Mashed potatoes on the side. Once our meal came, I didn't receive the extra guacamole and dressing like I asked and my date didn't get his mashed potatoes. Once I was able to get someone's attention, the server quickly brought out what we originally ordered. The larger issue was my order and the nonexistent attention from Tanner. Every time he walked past us, he would turn his head in the opposite direction so he didn't have to have us in his scope of vision. I needed more water, and my date wanted another beer. The biggest problem I had was with my burger . It was grossly well done and it came with a pretzel bun (which neither was requested). I was able to track down the manager and inform her of the error in my order, she tried to accommodate me and asked if I wanted another burger, but at that point I didn't want to have to wait for another burger since my date was finished with his meal. The manager was very pleasant, but once Tanner resurfaced (at the end of our "meal"), he only came to bring is the bill, which he put directly in front of me and walked away. I told Tanner of my displeasure, and received a lackadaisical reply that it was crowded. I admit, when my date and I first arrived there was a crowd, but once we received our meal, the crowd dissipated. I understand how busy a restaurant could get; I was a waitress once for a much larger and busier restaurant and I always made sure to periodically check ALL of my tables. Tanner was very lucky my date left him a tip, especially when I implored him not to. If it were up to me the exact monies would've been paid for that meal. I walked away feeling like I would NEVER revisit Iron Hill Brewery restaurant ever again.

Yelp
I was thrilled to learn they don't put garlic or onions in their tomato sauce! This place is safe for people with #alliumsensitivity. Finally, I can go out for pizza, and the pizza is delicious and wood fired to boot. Thank you!! #noalliums #nogarlic #noonion #lowFODMAP

Yelp
Chestnut Hill Brewing has yummy oven roasted pizza and amazing beers!! We ordered the Pontz pizza and it was freshly made! My husband has an onion allergy and they were able to accommodate having onions on half of the pizza (for me) and no onions at all on the other half (for him). I'm really appreciative for this. They do not shy away from toppings! The pizza had a lot of Italian sausage! The mushrooms were a great addition to the meaty flavor for the pizza! The mozzarella cheese was so gooey and brought out the flavor of the pie. The dough was thin but study enough to hold all the toppings on the pizza and the crust has a good development of gluten that it's fluffy on the inside. The wood oven adds just enough crisp and smoked flavor to the pizza! I alway recommend the pizza here! I had the "Why Not Rhinoceros" Quad (I think that was the name) and I think it's better than most quads I've tried! It was so smooth to drink and paired nicely with the pizza!

Yelp
Great food, great drink, really nice vibe! We got here about 20 min before the kitchen closed (we didn't realize until we arrived!), but ordering was super easy and the food was delicious. Wasn't sure about which beer to get, but the bartender came over with a mixed concoction of 2 beers and it WORKED. Not too sweet, not bland at all. I am really glad to have gone and can't wait to go back

Yelp
We came to catch the music and fell in love with the beer and food. There is an extensive food and beer menu and you are able to get a flight of beer. The acoustics are not the best but you can hear the music from any table. We split the white pizza and a sandwich with fries and enjoyed both. My only knock is the lack of parking but this is Chestnut Hill so just be prepared to drive around to find on street parking since the lot behind the brewery is not very big.

Clara M.

Yelp
EDIT: we returned the leftover pizza to them shortly afterward. We explained why; we requested half of the money back (since we ate a total of 1 of 2 pizzas); the lady refunded us completely. They are honest people. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: I've gone to buy this cute place's pizzas for maybe the last 3 years, on and off. I've brought/introduced friends and family to the place as well. The quality of the pizzas has gone down over time. They used to be great! The pizzas used to have a better cheese to dough balance (rn, too much of the former, especially for thinner pizzas); they now have a much chewier, somewhat rubbery crust in the middle and a charred border. We also paid more for onions and sausage separately on each; see for yourself whether or not this is worth 2-3 extra for each. The photo has the leftovers from both pizzas, mostly of the latter variety.

Yelp
After hiking at Wissahawkin park, decided to see what breweries were in the area and I'm happy I'm stumbled upon this gem. Ordered a white pizza and a flight, staff was exceptional in their service. Will be back!

Yelp
Yooooo We ordered delivery tonight and this place is spectacular. This is really going to be one of our new favorite spots. We got: TRENTON NAPOLI (my favorite part) PRESTO BIANCA (my wife's favorite) MUSHROOM TOAST (mushrooms on a pretzel bun with fried onion crunchies) I can't wait to try more things on the menu. Or to be able to eat there in person. The place just looks cool. I also love the logo.

Yelp
We were in Chestnut Hill for the #nightoflights exhibit and wanted a quick bite to eat. It's been awhile since we've been here due to Covid. The brewery has expanded into the space next door adding a dine in restaurant. Previously seating was inside the farmers market and outside. Of course the outside seating has also expanded. It was chilly to be outside but the hostess and manager found us a table next to the wall that was ok. I didn't see any heating lamps but we could feel some heat from the bar area. One of the reasons we go here is because of the free beer with Yelp check in!!! My husband had the seasonal Festbier. It was tasty with lots of spice. I had the Apple cider which was also good. Beers and drinks also come in half pours which I like because I'm not a big beer drinker. Cocktails are also available now. We had the regular pizza It was good. Very cheesy! I prefer the Margarita but I let my hubby choose. I like the pizza sauce no matter which one I get! I have to shout out our waiter, Sellus! He patiently helped us pick our drinks, gave us several tastings and was so nice!
google avatar

Vincent M.

Yelp
We were taking a walk up to the market and decided to give the brewery a try for lunch. I was getting over a cold and was kind of happy to be out for a meal. We had the basic pizza and a lime/tequila cider. While the cider was a bit too much tequila forward for me, my wife loved it. Pizza was really tasty as well.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Food was good. Drinks could of been better but i think it's what we ordered. It was something new for us. We were there watching the eagles game. Plenty of space and lots of TVs

Eric G.

Yelp
I was told the pizza at this place was great, but it was incredibly average. If you're going here I recommend the fries and the beer. If you want something more substantial, the menu is pretty limited beyond pizza. Ambience is nice, especially on days where you can sit outside without worrying about weather conditions. Bartenders were very friendly, so if you're just drinking beer with friends, this is a good place to hangout.

Molly M.

Yelp
Excellent food and ambiance. We're not vegetarian and my kids rave about the appetizers and pizzas!

Yelp
This is a $14 salad. Literally $14. When ordering a salad only, one would assume you would have more foundation and less toppings. This is literally 10 pieces of Brussel sprouts and a whole bunch of toppings. I asked why it was such a small salad he said this is the size for all their salads. Whelp now I know what not to order when going there. Pizza was great but they obviously changed their cooking staff vus this salad pre-covid use to be amazing.

Yelp
Chestnut Hill Brewing Company had the foresight to be the anchor tenant in the Market at the Fareway on Germantown Avenue in the heart of Chestnut Hill. Already one of the most picturesque communities in greater Philadelphia, it has made itself a premier destination with the opening of the Market with the nano-brewery within. Now, it is possible to select from a broad variety of street food alternatives also housed within this adaptive reuse of an old warehouse, but also to wash it down with a decent beverage brewed on sight. They also have a pizza operation right there, with a Yelp deal that draws you a free pilsner with the purchase of one of their pies. These guys do everything right. My choices: Korean Double Fried Chicken Wings from Chicko Tako and Pumpkin Ale from CHBC. Doesn't get much better than this! The ale was rich with a nutmeg/allspice accent in a beautiful dark red amber liquid. Easy drinking, and a perfect washdown for the delicious wings with their crispy exterior under a thick gloopy sweet and spicy sauce. Cut through that like a hot knife through cool butter. The brew tanks were visible to all, and the folks working the taps seemed to thoroughly enjoy their craft. At $6.50 a pint, it was hard to find anything to complain about. Even found a seat at a community table to enjoy my snack. Kudos to Chestnut Hill Brewery for seeing the possibilities of producing and selling suds in this small market, and extra credit for the town council and mayor for letting it all happen to the betterment of the community. The creative energy here was palpable and greatly appreciated.

Yelp
Not bad. Tried during vegan week. Good vegan cheese on the pizza. The pizza dough was very soft and flimsy and the crust was burnt in some places. The onion rings were huge, but they completely separated from the batter. The fries were good. The Brussels sprout salad was tasty. The chickpeas has a crispy crunch. The build our own pizza was disappointing. The garlic was raw, the caramelized onions were slimy. And the basil had hard stems left on. Plainly would we order here again? Probably not. But it was edible. We've had worse vegan food.

Yelp
I reserved two large tables for a birthday celebration and had a really great experience. I had contacted multiple local breweries and this was the easiest to work with. The communication leading up to my experience was prompt and thorough which I really appreciated. Everything was ready for us when we arrived. The outdoor area was great, warm, and well lit. Our waitress was absolutely awesome in that she came to check on us fairly regularly and was able to manage everyone's separate tabs. I got the chicken sandwich which was served with fries and really tasty. I also got a hot apple cider which was tasty. All in all I had a very positive experience and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
They have a well-heated outdoor space, with plexiglass separating guests. We went during Chestnut Hill on Ice, and were able to get our beer in an ice glass. Fun notion, but make sure you drink it quick enough! My glass melted a bit too much. The pumpkin ale was good though. We split a pretzel. The jalapeño beer cheese dipping sauce was good, but I thought the mustard was a little too much horseradish. We split a Margherita pizza. Wood fired, super tasty. Would definitely go again!!!

But like... could I be happier? We came here during the chestnut hill home and garden festival and really enjoyed all of the beers and the pizza and reallt had a great day. It's in a perfect little spot tucked away off of the main strip so it was perfectly quiet and sunny and.. ugh. You've gotta get here

Yelp
I love Chestnut Hill and would walk town any day. It's perfect for grabbing a bite to eat and exploring in the warm weather! This time I decided to check out the brewery with some friends in the middle of a huge snow storm. First off, it is really hard to find and almost hidden behind other buildings. If you go past the restaurant that is part of the Chestnut Hill hotel, there is an alley way right before the post office. You can walk down there and it will lead you to a small strip with more restaurants. It is past Green soul on the right hand side. The inside of the building reminds me of a miniature version of Reading Terminal Market. The brewery is right up at the front when you walk in, with two strips of bar area to the right and a larger seating area to the left. There is a bakery, the pizza place that is part of the brewery, a small market, and a few other food stands. It wasn't as crowded when we went because of the weather so we got a nice seat right in front of the taps. I started with a flight so I could try the variety of beers. I tasted the Shake it Out Stout, the Gose for It sour, the Liberty Bel-gian, and the Guest Tap cider. The sour was by far the best one I have tasted because of it's subtle notes of salty and sour. The cider was also really tasty, even though it was Stone & Key and not Chestnut Hill's brew. We got the Presto Bianca and a white pie with arugula and Prosciutto. They were both phenomenal and I would definitely get the white pizza again! It's on my list to return when the weather is warmer with a huge group of friends. The beer was good, but I would definitely come back for the experience of sitting outside and having a beer and some yummy pizza!

Yelp
Chestnut Hill Brewing Company is a small brewery in the Market at the Fareway. They have a small seating area (which I can see as being problematic on busy days, but I like the intimacy of the space) and their menu is pretty straightforward. They beer selection is quite small, but it is what I would expect from a brewery of this size. They have a several specialty pizzas and an option to make your own pizza. We ordered a make your own pizza and a beer. We wanted a half and half pizza because my husband and I opted to share and we have different flavor palates. The server was accommodating and incredibly friendly. While we sipped on our beers, our pizza was brought over to us. My half was a tad salty for my taste (probably because I opted for prosciutto, which is a salty piece of meat) but the flavors paired well with the beers. I think this place is one of the good places to visit in Chestnut Hill area, so I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch during Chestnut Hill Arts Fest, every other restaurant had an hour wait or longer. They were slammed here too, but fit us in. The brussell sprout salad was inspired...I'm not usually a huge fan of sprouts but I devoured this dish. The dill, crunchy chickpeas, and creamy dressing made such a great combo. Forager pizza was also excellent. Great beer too! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
The beer selection is off the chain!! Food wasn't bad at all but maybe what I got was just not a memorable meal. So that's why I gave it a four out of five.

Yelp
My two girlfriends and I decided to check out Chestnut Hill Brewing last night for Restaurant Week. For $25 you get a pint of beer or glass of wine, appetizer, pizza or pasta of choice, and a cookie. It was a little confusing to get to, all three of us had trouble finding the place. There was confusion about the taproom vs. the brewery. But no big deal, because the staff politely guided us in the right direction. Once inside, I was really impressed with the space. Industrial but cozy. We all got the pretzel, which was good minus the fennel, and pizza. The pizza was SO good. Our waiter and his trainee were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Excellent service! Overall, this was a great experience. Will def be back to try more of the delicious pizzas, and to take advantage of the super cute outdoor space.

Yelp
CHB is located in the heart of Chestnut Hill adjacent to the Chestnut Hill hotel and features both indoor dining and plenty of outside seating as well. It also is affiliated with the local food hall that is just next door which is a nice feature. The staff at the restaurant were very attentive and friendly and tried to do all they could to accommodate your wishes. The food is all prepared with fresh ingredients which you can both taste and see in the presentation. As far as their specialized beer offerings they were both tasty and interesting yet could have been served a bit colder. This is a great place for a fun lunch out on a beautiful fall day.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with my wife. Thanks you Yelp for the free beer deal! :-) I had a make-your-own salad. Very big with a nice slice of focaccia. Had the Pontz pizza. Very tasty crust although a bit thin in the middle. Porter was very good and rated a 4 on Untappd.

Yelp
This place is located in the Market at the Fareway. I would consider it a micro brewery. Its not the type where you bring a large group to spend the entire day participating in a brew tour, eating appetizers at the restaurant, watching sports type deal. The seating and menu are limited. There's about 10 bar style seats available. There is a beer garden outside to sit at as well. They also allow you to sit at the community seating inside. You don't have to stay at the bar seating. The food menu only consists of pizza. However, I still enjoyed my visit even though it was smaller than I expected. I ordered a flight to start. You get to select 4 beers from the menu. I got the Hef, Hazed and Confused, Gingerbread Pear Cider, and Woof If You Like It. The Hazed and Confused was my favorite. It's a little on the heavier side and has a nice herb taste. I don't drink beer often since it fills me up quickly so this flight was a perfect amount for me. The price was only $10 so that was nice as well. Next, I ordered the Pontz pizza. It had sausage, red onions, mushrooms and cheese for the toppings. I shared it with my boyfriend so it's enough to feed two people. They have a wood fire oven they cook it in located right next to the seating area. This is especially nice since you get to enjoy the flatbread moments after it comes out of the oven. The location of where the beer is brewed is also next to the seating area. The staff is very accommodating too, which is always a plus in my book. The only down side about this place is that there were no TVs to watch sports. Other than that, I would definitely come back here.

Yelp
4-5 stars for the beer, 1-2 stars for the soggy, over oiled and excessively cheesy pesto pizza.
