One of the best brunch spots I have ever visited. The food here is amazing. The savory crepe was my favorite and is something I would recommend everyone getting. It pairs perfectly with a side of bacon. My friends and I shared the lemon and blueberry ricotta pancakes and they were as delicious as everyone says they are. Honorable mention to the breakfast pizza, roast chicken on a rosemary biscuit, and their classic mimosas. I also suggest grabbing a cinnamon roll for the road. Warm it up later for a perfect treat.

Google
Food was wonderful, really good avocado toast and lemon ricotta pancakes. Friendly service. I appreciate they have a no tipping policy and they take pride in hiring adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. What a great culture and philosophy.

Chez Genèse is an absolute treasure in Greensboro, and if you haven’t been yet, you're missing out on one of the most delightful brunch experiences around! From the moment you step inside, it feels like you've been transported to a cozy French café. The décor is elegant yet inviting—think chic Parisian vibes meets southern charm. It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to linger long after your last bite. Speaking of bites, the food is beyond amazing! Imagine your favorite brunch classics with a unique, gourmet twist. Every dish is a masterpiece, full of flavor and creativity that you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re sinking your teeth into a perfectly flaky pastry or diving into something savory, every bite will have you saying, “Why didn’t I come here sooner?” But what really sets Chez Genèse apart is the service. The staff isn’t just nice—they’re genuinely passionate about making sure you have an unforgettable experience. They go above and beyond, making you feel like a VIP from start to finish. Looking for a brunch spot that’s fun, unique, and undeniably delicious? Look no further. Chez Genèse is not only one of the best in Greensboro—it’s a brunch lover’s dream come

Google
The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was amazing!! My mom got the lemon ricotta pancakes and I tried the crepe with caramelized bananas and vanilla creme fraiche. We got a croissant to share along with a snickerdoodle latte. I can’t wait to come back here.

One of the best breakfast/brunch spots I’ve ever been to in the Piedmont! The food was delicately prepared, delicious, and servings will leave you feeling full. In particular, I received the largest serving of avocado toast I have seen, and it was so good. The latte with chocolate was one of the best lattes I have had in Greensboro as well. After going once, I was back again the next morning. Based on how good everything has been so far, I imagine the entire menu needs to be tried so looks like many more trips ahead for me! Also loved the atmosphere, service, and all around presentation of everything the restaurant had to offer.

Their staff makes you feel really welcomed along the time you're there. On the other hand, their food offer a great variety, delicately prepared with good portions that really leave you full. I've comed here 3 times to try different things, and they never disappoint, I fully recommend giving it a visit and trying their dishes.

Google
Original: Impeccable service and absolutely delicious food. I want to come back to try more of their menu. Today, I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and, as a pancake connoisseur, I'm not being flippant when I say these were some of the best pancakes I have EVER had. My friend had a croissant sandwich and the potato leek soup which she also heartily enjoyed. Ambiance was light and airy. Highly recommend. Update: The food is still delicious! However, my partner had a bad experience. We arrived around 1pm. They ran out of her first choice meal on the menu. Then, they ran out of her second choice on the menu. So, my advice is to come here early, or you may get stuck with your third meal preference.

I can’t say enough about this place in a positive way. The Rosemary biscuit with egg and Gruyère falls apart in your mouth and is the perfect combination of flavor. I’m amazed at the chef/owner that keeps her hands on all the dishes and pumps out what I feel is the best breakfast in the Triad hands-down, in fact, the one of the best breakfast places I’ve been to period. Plan to either go early or wait as this spot has become very well-known and popular amongst locals. I have taken visitors from places like Miami and California and they are blown away. Keep up the great work.

Yelp
Honestly the name is what drew me to trying out Chez Genèse, and some amazing reviews from friends! Chez Genèse did not dissapoint! Firstly there are no reservations, it's first come first serve! We went on a Sunday around 10:30 there was a 45 minute wait. Completely worth it by the way. We were hungry so we got a lotttt of food to try. I got their avocado toast, a paloma to drink, smoked salmon on toast, a strawberry/Nutella crepes and their potato soup as well as well as french toast. Everything was amazing. Delicately seasoned, cooked to perfection. Our waiter recommended a lot of the food we tried and knocked it out the park. It's super clean on the inside, very minimalistic, and the service was top notch. I definitely recommend giving this place a try, and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
OMG such a cute spot! I've been in Greensboro for years and not sure how I've missed this place. A friend and I stopped in for a bite to eat while we were walking downtown. There wasn't a wait at the time so we were seated and brought menus fairly quickly. The inside is cozy and chic. I've never experienced French style breakfast/brunch so the servers were helpful in providing suggestions. They also mentioned a majority of the dishes take in excess of thirty minutes to prepare. *Take note of this if you're in a rush* We opted to share a few dishes. We got the Avocado Toast, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and the Salmon Benedict. My oh my were they all delicious! I will say the pancakes were a pleasant surprise as I wasn't sure what to expect. I couldn't stop eating those with the sauce. We did order a couple drinks while we waited on the food. They weren't bad, but nothing to rave about. Overall a very nice experience.

Yelp
After a disappointing lunch across town, I headed here for a dessert. Guess I was swayed by their high ratings on Yelp. The place seemed quite popular too...as I had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table. First of all, the place is very quaint...a bit short from being nice as too many tables were squeezed together. Also, there was no atmospheric music (AKA overhead music)...and I feel that should be a given for a restaurant-cafe like this. So I was not impressed with the decor or the ambiance. However I expected more from their foods (given the high ratings). Again, I waited at least 20 minutes for a table. Then, I somewhat resented that they seated me at a large table with other people (with other Asians, as it turned out...as in WTF?!?)...when there was an unbussed table available. I asked to be moved...then waited for them to clean off the table (which took much longer than it needed to be). Anyway, I ordered their pricey Blueberry Crepe, and this Vanilla Bean Green Tea. Well, I can't sugar coat it...but both were disappointing. The crepe just didn't taste good...it was kinda tasteless. Even this Vanilla Creme Fraiche was tasteless. I appreciated the generous dose of Blueberries though. As much as I love crepes, I just didn't love their version. The tea wasn't that great tasting either. Presentation with the tea sack was weird too...kinda tacky? (see pic) I really hate starting this new year with all these low ratings, but I'm just stating my personal opinions and experience. Just as the ramen bar before this, I was just not into this place. I left thinking, I actually waited 20 minutes for this?!? Furthermore, I kept thinking I actually drove 2 hours for all this lol!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by here for lunch on a Sunday when it was very busy. They were able to seat us in a timely manner. I really like the mission of the restaurant in helping the community. The staff were friendly. Service was a little slow, but it was expected due to how busy they were. The place is nicely decorated and has lots of natural light. They also have a selection of baked goods for sale.

Yelp
I checked out of my hotel and wanted to grab a delicious lunch before a long drive back to Charleston. It was beautiful out so I walked down Elm St and stopped at a couple shops along the way. I didn't realize they closed at 2pm, but I got there around 1pm so it was fine and it seemed I escaped the lunch rush. I sat down at a table, ordered a café au lait, and looked over the menu. Everything sounded great, but I really wanted to try one of the cocotte's. Mine had bacon, caramelized onion, and emmental cheese and was served with a side of fresh fruit salad and a crusty baguette for dipping. I started by breaking open one of the yolks and tearing off pieces of bread to dip. It was so savory and creamy that I couldn't get enough of it. So much so that I asked for additional bread so I made sure not to miss a drop. The fruit salad was the perfect pairing and was beautifully arranged. At first glance I felt the prices were slightly higher, but after reading that they don't accept tips because they pay a living wage, I actually felt like it was very fair. I would have paid more with tip on my total. Everything was so good that I thought about getting something from the case to go, but I was so full I couldn't fathom buying more food. If you're in Greensboro, this should absolutely be on your list for places to eat.

Yelp
If you know, you know..just in case you don't.. here's my review. New Year's Day brunch with the bestie, this was our first visit. We decided to try because of Yelp reviews. The food was great. Had a little wait which was well worth it. It's a great place with lots of great food. The plants added a homey feel to place.

Yelp
I recently treated myself to brunch at Chez Genese and it was a lovely experience from start to finish. Chez Genese isn't just a great place to eat--it's a restaurant with a mission. They're dedicated to creating a supportive workplace for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which adds a wonderful, feel-good element to the delicious food. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancake with a side of eggs, and wow, it was fantastic! The pancake was light, fluffy, and bursting with citrusy flavor, a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The egg was cooked perfectly as well, adding a savory touch that complemented the pancake. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The decor features lots of greenery, which gives the space a warm and comfortable vibe--perfect for a relaxing brunch. Chez Genese is a gem in Greensboro, and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
First time trying this place! We ordered smoked salmon sandwich (half), New Orleans beignets, bacon, egg, & Gruyère on a rosemary biscuit, and Nutella crepe topped with strawberries. It was all fantastic! I requested my bacon to be not so crispy and I received it exactly the way I wanted it. The biscuit was huge! I was only able to eat half. We arrived there around 11 am & the line was long. The host said it was a 45-50 min wait, & we were seated after 30 minutes. I noticed that around 12:30 pm there's no line & less people occupied tables so those who came in were seated immediately. As for parking, we were able to snag a spot at this small FREE parking lot ACROSS the boho salon. Limited parking spaces. 3 hr limit. We were lucky! Very close to the restaurant. Overall, we had a lovely experience here. Definitely worth visiting again.

Yelp
This is the ultimate brunch spot in downtown Greensboro! The homey feel is eminent when you walk in. There is gorgeous wallpaper, minimal decor, and lots of houseplants around to give a warm atmosphere. The staff is super welcoming and attentive, plus the food is absolutely delicious! I love the fact that they are inclusive and provide equal employment opportunities for individuals with varying intellectual & developmental abilities. The menu is French-inspired and seating is first-come first-serve. I recommend getting in early...but it's a must visit!

Yelp
Chez Genese is my definition of what I want to go to when I say "brunch"! We stopped by Greensboro for a nice brunch during a road trip and stumbled across this cute place. The parking is street parking so be prepared to parallel park. When you walk inside the first thing I noticed was all the plants! And to my surprise, they were all real! This restaurant gives off farm vibes but eclectic. It was a Friday morning and we were seated right away without reservations, but it did fill up pretty quickly. The waitresses were super sweet and helpful with the menu. There were some specials not listed in the menu that they have on their board when you're there. I only got to try the smoked salmon sandwich which was DELICIOUS if that's your kind of dish. The toast was toasted a little more than my preference but didn't take away from the flavor profile. It was super refreshing and I wish I got the entire sandwich rather than just half. I also got to try their iced latte with hazelnut flavoring. The coffee was pretty sweet but I like my coffee sweet so it was absolutely perfect for me. If you like your coffee less sweet and more bitter I would probably not add the flavorings. The specialty coffees are not bottomless however the regular drip coffee is. The macaron was perfectly made as well. The flavor was a little bland in my opinion however the structure was great! My friends said the lemon-ricotta pancakes were fluffy and filling and the quiche was super savory. Highly highly recommend this place if you're looking for a cute little brunch spot in downtown Greensboro! I would definitely come back if I was ever back in the area!

Yelp
Went to Chez Genèse for brunch with a friend, and it's a vibe. The aesthetic of this place is so relaxed and warm - it's extremely comforting. The staff and the food match the vibe too, making the experience very pleasant. We ordered a chicken salad on rosemary biscuit with soup of the day, and their lemon-ricotta pancakes. They were both delicious dishes. Thy serve ample quantity that we had leftovers for later too. So anyone looking for a good brunch spot, give this a try!

Yelp
My favorite brunch spot in Greensboro! I love the gorgeous decor, sweet staff, and delicious food! On this visit I got avocado toast (sourdough) with a poached egg and honey drizzle. The best part was my yogurt and fruit bowl! It had peanut butter at the bottom, yogurt, raspberry puree, honey, chia seeds, fresh apples blueberries and strawberries. Yum!!
google avatar

Yelp
Chicken soup was very nice. Their rosemary biscuit with chicken was unique though the feta was a little overpowering. Cute atmosphere and lots of freshly baked goods, and foods are hot of the stove. Great service, our server was very helpful in helping me decide what to order and also came back to check in a few times. Wish there was a place like this in Los Angeles. It's delicious and heartwarming to come here!

Yelp
Brunch place that I absolutely love!! Good food, friendly staff, love the vibe of this place-homey, rustic and pretty. Note that if you have to wait for a party, they don't let you wait on the table.

Yelp
My absolute favorite breakfast in Greensboro! The atomposhere is very light and airy, you will feel like you are in a French cafe. Their breaksfast is delicious. I love their avocado toast and roasted potatos! The servers are very attentive and overall a nice experience to start your day!

Yelp
Really good spot for breakfast/brunch. A change of pace from the southern/diner breakfast spots in town. French recipes and ingredient..everything is cooked and plated very well. I've had omelets before and thrived all been cooked perfectly. This time I opted for the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and I was surprised at the size of the the biscuit. The service is great and attentive. There's generally a line at the door, but for good reasons. Would recommend.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to have lunch at this gem of a place, on a beautiful saturday afternoon. The place is small but well lit and cozy. The menu indicates which dishes take more time to cook, the cocotte was one of them but i was happy to wait for my food chatting with friends. The lemonade was refreshing. Everything on the table was delicious. The toasted baguette served with the creamy cocotte was splendid! The servers are so nice too. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
WOW! At first I was reluctant to go... my partner insisted. I thought it was going to be too "fancy". I ordered the avocado toast and my partner had pancakes. Well let me tell you that it was not your typical sandwich or pancakes!!! The toast had honey with French feta that was amazing! The pancakes were so creamy and delicious! So glad we stopped by!

Yelp
AMAZING! Took my out of town boyfriend here for a brunch date and it was so good! We tried the roasted chicken rosemary biscuit with goat cheese and fried egg and the breakfast pizza and both were just mouth watering good. The mimosas were also perfect for our liking. Such a good ambiance, cute, quaint little place! Everyone was so friendly and did all service with a smile. Had no idea going in, that they follow the French tradition of "no tipping" , my boyfriend tried via card and once informed even tried to leave cash and they assured us they pay their staff a live-able wage- love that even more! Will deffinelty be bringing my parents and other family members here (selfishly so I can continue to try the whole menu, LOL). I mean it when I say it, delicious!!

Michelle M.

Yelp
Love the food here, but the hours listed are inaccurate. They advertise as open until 2:30 on Saturday. We came in at 1:30 and they would not seat us. So they are open until 1:30 on Saturday.

Yelp
One of the most reliable breakfasts in town. So good, and I don't know what I'd do if they ever closed

Yelp
We decided to come here right at opening time as we were told that the lines get very long here, which makes a lot of sense, given the food as well as the ambience. When we walked in, we were quickly seated, and they offered at abundance of French breakfast items I got a cocotte, which is one of the unique breakfast items that I have had at any diner/restaurant. The French bread is buttered very nicely and crunchy. In addition, the egg is soft cooked in cream, and a choice of a variety of cheeses/vegetables. I would recommend going for this menu, item alone! In addition, we did also get a chocolate mousse to go, which was not overly sweet and accentuated the chocolate flavor, which was very nice. Would recommend going to experience a very pleasant breakfast with friends.

Yelp
I've gotten many recommendations to come here for brunch, and when my friend was in town visiting, I thought it was the perfect opportunity! They don't take reservations, so be prepared for that. It's also street parking only as the restaurant is downtown. I love their mission to provide equal employment opportunities to people with disabilities, so I love supporting this business! Also, they factor in wages within their business model, so they are a no tip restaurant, which is unique and refreshing. The interior is cute, bright, and modern, with leafy plants that really bring in a homey atmosphere. Okay, now down to the food! My friend and I got the avocado toast and the breakfast pizza, which we both shared. Both were delicious! I don't typically like to spend money on avocado toast and basic ingredients, but I really love the combination with honey included! I will have to try that on my own. The breakfast pizza is something I've never seen before, and we really enjoyed it too. Just a thought, offering bacon or breakfast sausage as options would be amazing (it comes with bacon)! The service was great too! The man at the host station was friendly and accommodating when we came in requesting a table for either two or three. Our server was nice as well, and was very quick to get us a new drinking glass when I pointed out some dirt on the inside. Another woman stopped by our table, and I imagine she may have been the manager or owner. She was very kind and friendly and could tell she enjoyed her job and talking with customers about their experience. I would 100% recommend and come back!

Yelp
Great ambiance and customer service. The whole place has chilled laid back vibe to it, and we enjoyed our breakfast here. The avocado toast was nice and so were the lemon ricotta pancakes. We ordered a few bakery items to-go for the kids and they loved it too, especially the chocolate croissant. Highly recommended for happy breakfast times! With family and friends.

Yelp
This spot in Greensboro was truly a French dream!! The cafe was small but spacious with lots of seating options and was filled with plants and art work. The entirety of Chez Genèse was bright and welcoming, and even for a Sunday brunch we only had to wait 10 minutes. Now onto the food, there were so many delicious sounding authentic French choices so it was hard to pick just one! I decided to go with a classic and get the original crepe with strawberries and Nutella. It was so fruity and tasty, and even came with a side of fruit so plenty of food for me. Overall I loved this brunch spot and hope to go back next time I'm visiting Greensboro!

Yelp
Always a lovely experience and the food is delicious every time! From the meals, cocktails, ambiance, and staff, I always enjoy myself. I make a point to take my out of town guests when they visit, and they're always impressed! I have go-to menu items for sure, but I am always glad when I try something new because it never disappoints :)

Yelp
(4.25 stars) Like A Special Blend, Chez Genese provides employment to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. While that is a commendable mission, a good story alone does not a good restaurant make. A tantalizing menu full of well-executed dishes is a powerful draw, however, and here is where Chez Genese shines. One of the few area eateries to offer French fare, Chez Genese provides a strong representation thereof. Crepes, quiches, tarts, and charcuterie are all accounted for, the rotating daily lunch specials include things like bouillabaisse or beef burgundy, eggs come in everything from omelets to cocottes (cups) to tartines, and, of course, croissants and baguettes are available as well. Good luck trying to make a decision when it all sounds so good. For our late breakfast visit, my wife and I ultimately went with lemon ricotta pancakes and a smoked salmon with dill crème fraiche omelet, respectively. We (thankfully) didn't have too long a wait for our food, and what arrived at the table was plated beautifully. The omelet, though firmer than expected, was not overdone, and its flavors were excellent. Its accompanying fruit plate was fresh and varied, and a baguette offered a nice combination of crusty and chewy. We were concerned that the pancakes would prove too sweet, but the lemon notes thankfully added balance. A homemade blueberry syrup paired well with them. "French" is often conflated with "fancy and expensive," but that was not the case here. Chez Genese has a casual café vibe, and pricing proved fairly reasonable. Each breakfast dish ran in the teens and offered plenty of food. Servers were pleasant as well. That being said, Chez Genese is not terribly large, and it keeps quite busy. You could be in for a wait without much room to actually stand and wait. Though not uncomfortably loud, the ambiance here can best be described as "bustling." Should you be able to snag a seat, Chez Genese offers one of the best breakfasts in the area. I look forward to eventually trying them out for lunch.

Yelp
First time coming to Greensboro and my kid was hungry so just a look on yelp without any expectation about good food. When we went to restrestaurant it was 35 mins waiting.Looking at the ambience wibe of the restrestaurants we thought we will wait. We ordered lemon ricotta chesse pancake, warm sweetpotato salad and spinach tomato omelette. The food was worth waiting.Pancakes was not too sweet, omellete was perfect and OMG star was warm patato salad. Everything was really good, I may really go back for the salad. Overall a good experience, If keeping the waiting time aside.

Yelp
This place is a jam! We stopped by there on our road trip and were so happy with our meals! We wanted to come back there on our way back, but were not able to get seated cuz the line was 45 min on a Sunday afternoon. I wish there would be a place like that near us! I'd travel back there from Florida just to eat there again. Service was a little slow, but it definitely worth the wait! Savory crepes and berry tart were out of this world.

Yelp
This restaurant is so charming and our service was outstanding. There were fresh tiny daisy-like flowers in a small vase on every table, and the windows bring in a lot of sunshine. My friend had an omelette and was very happy with it. I had the Croque Monsieur with a fried egg on top. I moved the egg to the plate so I could eat the sandwich by hand. That egg was SO FRESH and delicious, and cooked to a perfect over easy. I wished that I had ordered two eggs. The sandwich was delicious, but I could only eat a quarter of it since I'd had a cup of the red potato soup with that delicious bread that comes with it. So delicious that I took a loaf of it home with me. The soup was tasty too...I only wished that the potatoes were cut smaller. I'll definitely be back again and again. Lovely.

Yelp
Such a special place! You feel like you are walking into to a cute cafe on the Champs Elysee in Paris, but it's in Greensboro. I had brunch with a few friends and we went early. It was a good thing because we still had a 15 minute wait, but it would have been a lot longer should we have arrived at lunch. Set in a well lit and airy environment, we browsed the extensive menu. It was brunch with a French twist. We all ordered something different. Pictured is an omelette, an egg cup, avocado toast and I had the croque monsieur. I remember my days in Paris and I just had to get one. We had several fruit plates on the side. It's a bustling place with great staff. Our server didn't write a thing down and had our order memorized. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to go back and try some other things. The avocado toast looked outrageous! Parking on S. Elm Street can be a bit nutty.

Yelp
I love this place, it's a great place to meet friends for brunch. The food is affordable and usually tastes good. I'd say there is some inconsistency which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Sometimes their chicken is over cooked, dry and crunchy, and other times it's juicy and moist. I've been sticking to the avocado toast because it's hard to mess up. I like that they hire people with disabilities, it's heartwarming and makes me want to support them even more. I'd also say they're annoying about not seating you if your party isn't there. It would be nice to order a drink or an appetizer if you're waiting for someone instead of sitting on a bench. I think they're losing out an a massive opportunity of not letting people sit right away, especially when the place is half empty. Otherwise, I enjoy going here, and think it's a great spot in Greensboro.

Yelp
Tried this place for breakfast for the first time and was not disappointed! I'm a Greensboro native but I've never noticed this place until now. The hostess was so warm and the atmosphere/environment was cozy. The food was amazing! We got the lemon ricotta pancakes and a Gruyère ham sandwich. Both were a 10/10! I would come back to try the crepes. The person next to us got an omelette, it looked huge so maybe we would try that too. Can't wait to come back :)

Yelp
I was so excited to finally visit Chez Genese for the first time with a large group of friends a few weeks ago. Due to our group size, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table big enough to be available. There were 8 in our party and we arrived around 10:15am. I was instantly calmed and at peace with the home-y European vibes of the space. There were so many vibrant plants, beautiful wallpaper, and cute interior design touches. Beyond the gorgeous ambiance, Chez Genese provides a remarkable opportunity of employment to the intellectually and developmentally disabled in our community. Now that's a cause I can get behind!! You already know that we kicked brunch off by ordering a round of drinks!! Most of us ordered some type of mimosa, they have 5 different options! I opted for the Hocking, which features grapefruit juice and a rosemary simple syrup in addition to the champagne. It was quite delicious and herbaceous without being too sweet. I also ordered a hot cup of coffee, which includes endless refills. For my main dish I ordered the spinach, roasted red pepper, and camembert tartine. I also added caramelized onions for a $1.65 up-charge. A tartine is basically an open face sandwich with an over-medium egg on top. It was served on very crispy bread which made it a little difficult to cut, but the gooeyness of the egg helped soften it up a little bit. Eating it with your hands is probably the way to go, but I was trying to lean into the classiness of enjoying French cuisine. All the vegetables were cooked well and paired together beautifully with the camembert. They have so many great flavor combinations that they offer, it was really difficult for me to choose. You can also have your eggs served as a cocotte (baked egg cup), omelet, scramble, or crepe. They even offer to prepare them using egg whites only for a $2 up-charge. As a heads up, Chez Genese is a tip-free establishment. However, if you are so inclined to leave cash, they divide it between all staff members and a small portion is donated to their training program Compass Greensboro. If you're looking for a great brunch spot in Greensboro while also supporting a worthy cause, this is a great option!

Yelp
Back after a year ago and wow it's still a five star plus! The service , atmosphere and the food all superb. Had an omelet with spinach, roasted red peppers and Camembert cheese, while it sounds simple and may seem like any other brunch offering , the execution of eggs and the fresh ingredients can't be matched . The other items of bacon, French toast and blueberry muffin were very good and there was not a single miss. The attention to detail along with excellent service make any morning special.

Yelp
A small local brunch option located in downtown Greensboro! Loved the atmosphere and greenery inside of the restaurant. I ordered the dutch baby and I will say it was pretty good! My only concern was with the time it took for our main courses to come out. Other than that, a great spot!

Yelp
I have been waiting for a day I could finally come eat brunch here. First time I came there was a longer wait than what I was looking for then the second time I came the weather had forced them to close. Thankfully I have finally made it! It was well worth the wait. I was seated rather quickly although I know this place gets a good crowd. Our server was amazing and treated us well. The atmosphere here is great I LOVE all the plants and the decor that makes it feel so open and homey. The food was delicious loved the honey drizzle on the avocado toast.

Yelp
I enjoy a fancy little brunch spot this place fit the bill took the grandson here and we just had a mighty fine time. I got the savory crêpe and he got a sweet crepe. We enjoyed both of them but the sweet one needed a little bit more filling for me and definitely some whip cream on top would be great.

Yelp
Where to start? Well I guess the answer is actually the French provincial countryside. Somehow the purveyors of this fine establishment have mastered space-time travel and can show you what a Parisian pâtieserie was like in the 60s. The quaint, curated-but-hella-cute interior sets the stage for the flawless cuisine you're about to indulge in. And I don't know what archdeacon of breakfast foods they made a pact with, but they made it about eggs--it's the only explanation for how devilishly divine les oeufs truly are. Everyone is out there making fun of avocado toast like FOOLS because it turns out it's perfection, and Chez has set the bar. And if you're looking for an energy boost jam-packed with all the nutrition the forests and fields have to forage, travel no further down Elm St. and try one of their protein jars. The nut butter shall be your reward and, lo, is it ever sweeter and more filling than ambrosia handed to you by Bacchus himself. The staff is pleasantly welcoming and ready with a cup of coffee to set the morning--either early or late--off without a hitch. It's first-come, first-served (no rezzies), so get there earlier than you think you should. But I guarantee you it is beyond worth it. Voila. Le meilleur petit déjeuner.

Yelp
The Apple Crepe made me see god and had aphrodisiac properties. A great seasonal warmth of delight in my mouth that brought me a sense of thankfulness. The mimosa had a perfect amount of champagne and orange juice that created a bubbling sensation of contentness within me. It also made me a bit drunk. Best breakfast experience I've had since my Grammies won the Kentucky cook-off in '99. Overall 9/10.

Yelp
We found this place on Yelp when we were visiting Greensboro for a company holiday party. We parked and walked over and entered the restaurant. It's very earthy and soothing. It's such a cool cafe. I love the fact that they have hired folks with intellectual disabilities to work at this really cool establishment. It was such a great experience. Pop up ad: Follow me on IG at Foodjunkie704 They sat us immediately and I ended up ordering a Croque-Monsieur which was probably the best one I've ever had. I also got a side salad with the honey vinaigrette. I couldn't really taste the honey but it was still a great vinaigrette. I also ordered The Betsy which was a mimosa with OJ and grenadine. It's was very pretty and tasty. There were 2 tables that were seated after us and received their food before us. For some reason, it took awhile for our food to come but other than that, the place was cool and the food was really good. I will definitely be back. Also, they don't do tips but u can leave cash. I'm so happy I had cash! This place is super cool. I love everything about it!

Yelp
Stopped into this lovely spot to grab a few bakery items and sit for a few minutes before school on the patio. As always, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The croissants were delicious and other pastries were excellent as well. My fav is the brownie.

Yelp
wow, what a find! we were driving from Charlotte to Richmond and made a quick stop in Greensboro to visit a friend for a quick coffee break. As we were leaving we decided to grab something to eat before our drive. As we walked down Elm into a few places we saw Chez Genese. Had no idea but as we walked in we were greeted by a very warm and friendly woman (hostess) the place was super busy but she was quick to tell us we would be seated in 10 min or less. We had no idea that this bistro was dedicated to creating a supportive workplace for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which I found truly amazing (my son is on the spectrum). The world needs more places like this place. We had a wonderful young man as our waiter smiling as he came to take our order. We ordered the avocado toast with eggs over medium that came with a honey drizzle on crunchy sourdough bread which was perfectly cooked. Ordered the warm red potato and leek soup with crunchy bread delicious! Then grabbed the lemon bar to go (didn't make it to the car it was that good) out of-this-world quality! I can't say enough about this place. If I could give it 6 out of 5 stars I would. What they have created at Chez Genese is pure love all the way around from food to atmosphere to the love they show their employees which is a reflection of all the smiles I received today. It is a must even if you aren't in Greensboro and maybe passing by like me, Go I promise you you won't regret it!

Yelp
First time coming here in Greensboro and love how this cafe is set up. The latte I got was good. Not overly sweet. The pancakes were my favorite with a well paired jam. Can taste the lemon as well. The omelette was well made and the bread was nice and crispy. Food wise it was perfect. Not too heavy and a great brunch spot. I loved the ambiance in this place. Felt like a nice lighthearted cafe. You pay at the counter after you finish. All the workers were friendly and very helpful as well. Overall definitely enjoyed this place and plan to come back next time I'm in Greensboro!

Yelp
There's always room for another French restaurant even though this is a rarity in the triad! Chez Geneses mission is to provide adults with differing abilities and a passion for food a place to get creative. I have been here a few times for breakfast and lunch and it's always a special treat. My favorite is the baked eggs, specially the one with mushrooms and Gruyère cheese. It pairs perfectly with their crusty baguette and fresh fruit. This is an absolute must try in Greensboro!

Yelp
Chez Genese is my all time favorite breakfast spot. The food is delish. The servings are generous. And the servers are great! Love that tips are not required because the staff is paid a decent wage!

Yelp
This place was absolutely worth the hype! The service was great and the food was phenomenal. The server recommended their seasonal pumpkin spice latte and it did not disappoint!

Yelp
First time visiting Chez Genèse for a belated Mother's Day brunch with my mom and sister. It was a fantastic dining experience. The staff was warm, welcoming and wonderful! The food was fresh and delicious. I loved the latte and pain au chocolat, I would go just for those! Can't wait to return.
