"A surprise to some, this Northeast suburb of Houston harbors one of the best French restaurants in the country. Chez Nous exudes a homey feel while bringing to the table an evolving menu of French favorites, including a charcuterie platter with Normany duck mouse, pork rillettes, and smoked duck pastrami; a delightful combination of blue crab, mango, avocado, and tomato assembled into a tower; and the Bowfin caviar and egg confection dish, which features vodka-infused minced eggs with herb Chantilly. The piece de resistance of the restaurant, though, is the Chateaubriand— a hearty two-person portion of roasted beef tenderloin in sauce Bearnaise. Though the menu changes from time to time (the executive chef Stacy Crowe-Simonson likes to mix it up), the souffles, available in flavors like Grand Marnier, passion fruit-raspberry, and chocolate — remain a mainstay and are available all day Wednesday through Friday and after 8 p.m. on Saturday." - Brittany Britto Garley

Google
Upon finding this place it's somewhat hidden, you could mistake it for a house in the area that it is, not necessarily a good or bad thing, just interesting. We had a reservation at 615, and we got there early, at around 6:05, maybe that was our mistake. We promptly got sat down upon entering, but we didn't get the drink menu until about 6:30PM, which is kind of strange. Following that, we got our drinks pretty quickly after ordering them. At this point in time we didn't get our actual menus yet, it wasn't given to us until about 15 minutes after we got our drinks for whatever reason. Not to mention we didn't get (1 piece of bread that wasn't anything of note) until about 5 minutes after getting our drinks. After we got our actual menus we were able to order pretty quickly and the food came out at a good speed following that. I mention all that because there were a lot of employees, and maybe we just came on an off day but there was a lot of waiting for no necessarily good reason. Sure we could've flagged down someone to come by, but it's kind of strange if the onus is put on the customers. The food was pretty standard, a bit expensive for the quality of the food. There wasn't anything that blew my mind but it wasn't bad. Overall, im relatively new to French cuisine but if that was the opener to this new genre, I don't think I'll be so inclined to explore this avenue any further.

Google
Fantastic neighborhood French restaurant with plenty of specials and seasonal items. We found it by accident but it has been in humble for quite some time. Went for a date night and was sat right away. A bit slow on getting us menus but once we got rolling, the appetizer and meal were on fire. Definitely try the traditional foods like escargot if you liked it—tastes just like Paris! But stick around for the fusion and non-French items too. (For example I had the Italian based seafood risotto.). Dessert cannot be missed and their seasonal items are handmade and unique! Try the chocolate plater for example. Reservations are encouraged and open table takes care of it easily.

Google
Excellent food. Definitely on the higher end for priced. I had the beef tartare a little spicy, I think it was a strong herby flavor. The spring pork special was delicious and super flavorful and juicy! I loved the cheesecake.

Google
Our food was delicious. I will dream about the goat cheese crispy pasta salad for a long time coming. The shrimp and scallop Risotto was also so good. My husband enjoyed his Caesar salad and salmon dinner with the wilted spinach. For dessert, we had a creme brulee. My only complaint is that we weren't informed that souffle would take half an hour or longer to make, otherwise I would have ordered that sooner so that I could have had that. Everything was amazing and was perfect for my birthday. Oh, and the cinnamon margarita was top notch!

Since it was my first visit, I didn't know what to expect. My grandaighter had recommended it. On entering, I immediately knew it was a good French restaurant having spent several times in Paris. The food did not disappoint! I was pleasantly surprised at both the service and the food! It is not inexpensive BUT it was worth it! I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Let's start out with the good stuff. My wife and I came in on a Friday night. The atmosphere and aesthetics of the place are amazing. It's a nice, somewhat quiet, restaurant converted from an old house. The ambiance was great. The service was decent, nothing went wrong. I feel like, for the price, it could have been a little better. On top of that, my chair was incredibly uncomfortable. I had to keep repositioning myself throughout the meal. Now, let's get to the food. We started with the crab tower: an amalgamation of blue crab meat, avocado, mangoes, and tomatoes. It was pretty good. My wife had the veal, it wasn't anything to write home about. If it were, I'd have been able to describe it better here. Then, there's my meal...I had the scallops with English pea risotto. To start, the entire dish only had 2 scallops. Why would you serve a scallop dish that doesn't feature scallops? They tried to cover that fact that the scallop portion was skimpy by adding a few rubbery, overcooked shrimp into the mix. That wasn't even the worst part. The risotto was terrible. The consistency was thick and sticky, like it had been sitting around for hours and reheated. To add insult to injury, it was undercooked. There's nothing less appealing than eating a crunchy risotto. Overall, it was an experience. We definitely won't be coming back here. I suggest you consider skipping this one as well. There are definitely better fine dining experiences available.

Came here for my husband and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Absolutely amazing!. Service was lovely. The restaurant was impeccable. And the food was outstanding. Absolutely a must for any special evening.

Google
Literally the best meal I’ve ever had. Not my first fine dining experience, but the best. We got the chef’s table, allowing the chef to choose 5 courses for us. Truly exceptional from start to finish. The vinaigrette on the salad had vanilla in it. The scallop melted in my mouth. We also had bacon wrapped duck, coffee dusted steak, and for dessert a lemonchello and blueberry soufflé.

Yelp
Well today is day 8 of business travel and of course the travel gods rain hell fire with the crowdstrike apocalypse. But that's another story. So I need a fine meal nearish to IAH. Up pops Chez Nous. I have no reservation and being stranded in Houston I wager a single can find a table. Voila! I walk in and am immediately shown a table, after five delayed flights and a cancellation it's nice to be welcomed. My god what a find. The food is fantastic and the decor beautiful. Come here it's a gem, and to the staff a heartfelt appreciation.

Yelp
This is a very traditional French restaurant opened in humble old street, so humble old street actually have a so authentic taste of the French restaurant is really amazing, the owner is a famous French chef, so it is really very attentive in the cooking of each dish, very art very delicious and good-looking! The service is also amazing Charcuterie Platter, the cup of foie gras from France is absolutely amazing, I dug through it in one gulp and still savored it, and the smoked duck breast was also super delicious! Escargot, the escargot was full of rich flavor of herbs and butter, and the bread was super flavorful. The chef recommended the pork, which was very tender, but I actually thought the roasted Brussels sprouts were better than the meat. French grilled lamb chops, burnt on the outside and tender on the inside, the meat is delicious and juicy, exudes a charming herb and garlic flavor, every bite makes people feel the rich layers and rich French flavor, the waiter will be very ceremonial at the table to give you a good cut of the sauce, nice! The classic French duck leg and duck breast in oil, the outer skin is golden and crispy, the inside is tender and juicy, paired with Burgundy poached pears in red wine, which balances out the richness of the duck leg in oil. After the main course, the waiter will push the dessert cart to introduce you to the most favorite dessert: Chocolate Charcuterie, a variety of chocolate with flowers and nuts ice cream.

Yelp
Classic gastronomic experiences are not what comes to mind when Humble is mentioned, but Chez Nuos stands alone as a unique restaurant offering French inspired dishes on another level. First and foremost, looks can be deceiving when it comes to Chez Nuos. They are smack dab in a residential area. The interior isn't showy with modernity or chic vibes, but instead, a cozy cottage feel with simple paintings and drapery matching the wallpaper. The menu is straight forward with well prepared classics. We marveled at the excellent execution of each dish. First must is to order the complementary baguette warmed, as it is only served warm by request. Second order of business is to order the charcuterie board. It will transport you to Europe with the taste. From the cherry jelly topped mousse, to the smoked duck breast, this board was awesome in terms of textures and flavors. The pickled pearl onions, caramelized onions, and cornichons paired well the proteins. We were presented with some toasted bread when I asked for crackers. As for the mains, I settled on the duck, which came with confit and sliced breast meat drizzled with sauce. The meat was deliciously tender. My one criticism was that I wish the thigh skin was crisped up like I have had at other places. It makes a world of difference. My dining partner ordered the pork ribeye, which was an off menu special for the day. I had reservations about the accompanying blueberry sauce, but wow! It complimented the savory fatty pork well. Speaking of the pork, it was a perfectly cooked piece of meat and oh so tender and juicy. We substituted the risotto out for potatoes and veg, and it was perfect. We ended our meal with the light and lightly sweetened soufflé. Go ahead and order this with your mains because it takes twenty five minutes to prepare. We both agreed that was a fantastic and memorable meal, and it's definitely worth another visit with a special occasion in mind.

Yelp
What a gem. Had the chance to eat here this week. Everything from the decor to the food/drinks and wonderful staff at this restaurant is 5 stars. The drinks change seasonally. There is a standard menu and seasonal menu. The selections delicious. We will definitely be back and have recommended to our friends.

James C.

Yelp
The food is authentic French cuisine! The chef knows French cooking ! Service was great, very attentive, the restaurant is housed in an old home residence in old Humble area , very cozy not a big rambling restaurant , so pretty quiet, parking on the streets, you may have to walk a bit on a busy day!

Steve C.

Yelp
I made a reservation for 7:15pm on a Friday ece3ning for my significant other's birthday. We were a few minutes late as parking is always an issue here. The lot only holds a few cars and street parking is limited and neighbors have warning signs about parking for Chez Nous and getting towed. You may have to walk a bit, but not more than 100 feet. The atmosphere here is intimate and cozy. Not too loud. We started with the French Onion Soup and it is highly recommended. The signature cocktails were good, however the vanilla martini was a bit too sweet for me. The main courses (we both had seafood) were excellent and the presentation exceptional. Scallops were perfect as was the risotto. For dessert we shared the trio of soufflés and they are such a treat, just enough for the two of us. Very attentive service and smiles all the way around. We had a great time and will certainly return again.

Rebecca J.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the building is rich of history, but the staff was an amazing great customer service. I will definitely be back!

Crescida J.

Yelp
Went with my date for an early Valentine's Day dinner. The prices have increased substantially from the menu online at the start of the fall/winter menu. (Supposed to be a seasonal menu) The chef was able to make special changes due to food sensitivities, which was helpful. The wait staff is AMAZING! The food itself was good, but a little overpriced for what you get. The side for a filet mignon was puréed sweet potato on top of 1 tiny Yukon gold potato. Not impressive for a $50 meal. I got a shrimp dish & the shrimp were huge but there was far too much tomato sauce and only one spoon of potatoes. Again- not super duper for the price. The restaurant itself is quite outdated: cheap white tablecloths and wicker dining chairs. We will go again when a different menu is available, as it would be amazing that a French restaurant is so close.

HsiaoCheng W.

Yelp
Probably my favorite French restaurant. In a very unassuming neighborhood. I won't mention the price - all I'll say is that it used to be on our list of places we couldn't take people to on the company dime.

Karemelia R.

Yelp
Everything our party of 8 ordered from the menu was perfectly prepared & delicious. Five-star food & service.

Bryan S.

Yelp
This place deserves six stars! It's pretty rare when everyone and everything is perfect, but that was the case with Chez Nous. We haven't been here in years, but the last time we came, it was great as I recall. These days, it's a 100 mile drive to Humble, but this place was worth it! This place is great! I had Foie Gras, a Caesar Salad, and the Roast Duck. My wife had their Ravioli, Fried Pasta Salad, and the Filet. We had a very nice St. Emelion that our server suggested. Everything was perfect, from the caramelized apple served with the seared Foie Gras to the sear on the Filet. For dessert we had the Grande Marnier Soufflé with a a wonderful Crème Anglais. The Soufflé was perfect and nicely presented. Even the butter tastes like European butter. Our server and all of the support staff were super as well! All of this was not cheap, coming in at ~$350, but if you enjoy true fine dining, drive to Humble and enjoy a meal crafted by a truly French trained, female executive chef!

Anton G.

Yelp
It is the closest thing to a full, fine dining French restaurant in Humble. Portions are frenchTex, I mean, not as small as a regular french restaurant. Service is 5 stars food too. They have been in business for more than 35 years. Try there, lamp chops and escargot; they are phenomenal! They also have a good wine menu.

Cindy F.

Yelp
We tried the Chef's Choice menu and it was ok. The presentation was very nice but nothing I ate made me think, "Wow, this is delicious!". The diane sauce was a bit too salty. The wait staff was wonderful but, overall, I was disappointed with the flavors of the food and appearance of the restaurant.

Kathy W.

Yelp
Rude people. Will not understand that your just looking and getting prices. When you try to explain they get upset at you and say they are not going to sell you anything. I was just looking I was not buying!

Matthew G.

Yelp
A hidden gem in old town Humble! Our favorite place to go when celebrating any holiday!

Mark K.

Yelp
This is definitely a great place for a special night out. Everything from the ambiance to dessert! The service here is the best I have had in an up scale restaurant. The food is exceptional!

Leslie H.

Yelp
We have been fortunate to have had dinner at Chez Nous before and had a wonderful experience, but tonight the service was way beyond what we have come to expect! Joseph and Irwin could not have been more attentive, paying attention to every detail Other restaurants should emulate these fine gentlemen! I enjoyed the scallops and my partner had steak with demi glaze... I am a pescatarian, so the chef was sure to leave off the bacon jam...not even missed! To visit Chez Nous is to enjoy a lovely relaxing dinner, in sweet surroundings Impeccable! So worth every penny

Kevin C.

Yelp
Dinner on Dec 6th 2023. We were disappointed in our whole experience. The best thing was having dinner with old friends. We have been coming to Chez Nous for over 20 years of celebrations or just a good night out. This was by far our worst experience. We hope this was just a bad night. It started very normally, then the appetizers came out very slowly. We are not sure what happened but at one point they brought one to a member of our party and then took it away. When they finally arrived some things in the crab tower seemed different from times past. The soups were just ok and they are usually exceptional. Our bottle of wine was delivered and no offer to taste, just open and pour. The wait between the appetizers and the entre was very long. When the entries arrived, the potatoes were cold and dry, the green beans were just warm and tasteless, and the carrots were tasty but just warm. Usually, these things are fantastic and perfect. The meat itself was tough for a tenderloin and a little overdone. Usually, the tenderloin here melts in your mouth. The sauce bearnaise was so cold it would not pour out of the container. The servers never asked how things were. Desert was seasonal cheesecake, sorbet, crème Brulé. I made the reservation for one birthday but the other couple that joined us had a birthday to celebrate also. We made this clear at seating. The original birthday showed up with a candle, but the other did not. We also had coffee which was served without a spoon, and I used my fork to stir it. For the most part, our whole table felt ignored and or forgotten. No offer to package up the rest of a second bottle of wine for us to take. The food and service were not up to what we know Chez Nous for. I would typically highly recommend this place for any dinner or celebration. But I can NOT recommend Chez Nous after the service and food last night. There is a lot of work to do and a lot better places in Houston to spend your money if you want excellent food and service. I sincerely hope things get fixed.

K G.

Yelp
The food is excellent, the servers and service is excellent. It's small and intimate making for a very romantic dinner.

Andrea S.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant located in Old Humble. This was our second visit and it was a lovely experience! We ordered "Chef Stacy's seasonal 5 Course Tasting Menu with Wine Flight Pairings" and it was out of this world good. The service was 5 star. The food was amazing and the wine was divine.

Mike M.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The food was great and service impeccable. We started the night with a cheese plate and smoked salmon. My wife had the salmon for entree and I had the gulf shrimp. The salmon was perfect and big Ku recommend it. The shrimp was great but you better like spinach which I do. At this point we were completely full and I could finish my shrimp but we had pre-ordered the trio soufflé. My wife even commented she didn't have room for desert but after one taste it was so light and tasty that's she couldn't resist. The chocolate and lemon were her favs but I lived all three including the pomegranate soufflé. The wine was great too. You need to make reservations and parking while not limited on city streets around the restaurant it is so plan accordingly. Preorder your soufflé so you don't have to wait.

Geoff R.

Yelp
Dinner last night was another fantastic experience at this northside gem. We can't say enough about the quality, the creativity, the atmosphere, the consistency, the service... everything that makes up a great restaurant. If there's a better restaurant in Houston, we haven't found it.

Darren J.

Yelp
Allison and Jackie are amazing. Fine service and exceptional food from Chef Stacy. I had the New Zealand lamb it was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting exceptional food and amazing service.

Keri C.

Yelp
Great place for a special occasion. I enjoyed the food but it's crazy expensive! Enjoy!

Darris J.

Yelp
God damn this is good food.  This has been on my "to dine" list for some time and finally had time to drop in.  Eff all the rest, this is the BEST DINING EXPERIENCE you will get in the HAK. Once inside you leave Old Humble to be immersed in a French countryside home, with smiling and attentive service staff.  Every dish was expertly prepared. As a note don't shy away from their vegan and vegetarian fare.  If I could eat vegan food like this every day I could easily say bye to brisket...to just twice a month. 10 yo and 12 yo Rip Van Wrinkle at the bar at really fare cost per shot as well. A spectacularly curated wine list as well. You'll find something that matches your palette.

Alan T.

Yelp
Enjoyed every aspect of this fine French restaurant in Humble,Texas. I had Caesar salad, scallops w bacon jam, and crème brûlée.

Nehemiah H.

Yelp
First time there tonight great restaurant you know it was a great mystery and hidden gem to find but a wonderful time. True quality French cuisine. I really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to go back and try the beef Wellington Everything was a 10 out of 10 love to service, very knowledgeable and nice people.

Allen S.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Unique setting We've been going here for over 20 years and have never been disappointed

Linda S.

Yelp
We went last Friday for my husband's bday. We were so excited to have an elegant fine dining experience with French cuisine. What a disappointment over $400 later. We had escargot and crab tower for apps. Escargot was delicious. Crab tower just average. But the first disappointment was the cheap looking clear glass plate we were given to eat on. We also had rock hard rolls. The service was extremely slow, so that gave us plenty time to look around. It's a quaint place, but is in desperate need of updates. Antique chandeliers on a dimmer would be a nice touch instead of regular old ceiling fans. The light level was bright. Not romantic in the least. The chairs and benches need updated fabric just to boost the ambiance. Candles on the table would be nice as well. We ordered the chateaubriand for two. It came with steamed veggies and potato purée. The meat was perfectly cooked. But we had to watch as our waitress literally butchered it to plate it. I also watched as she did the same on a rack of lamb chops at the table next to us. Really took down the experience with a lame Vegas-like showman serving trick to wow. It didn't. All in all, we give the food 3.5-4 and the ambiance a 3. Definitely won't be driving almost an hour from the Woodlands and spending that much for that experience again. We should have gone into the city. Oh and when they brought us the bill, they had a marketing card for their prepared meals. And another one when they brought the check back for us to tip and pay. Really classy - not!

Randy S.

Yelp
A five-star restaurant fortunately right here in the Humble/Atascocita area. World class cuisine! Super friendly staff. The old house and homey decor provide a charming and elegant backdrop. Great place for any celebration or occasion.

Kim W.

Yelp
Decent food. Not what I heard it would be. Old. Outdated. Neighborhood threw me...service ok. Was expecting a lot.

Eddie C.

Yelp
Definition of a hidden gem! Chez Nous translates to "our house" in French, and the name couldn't be more fitting. Reading up on the history of the place, I learned that the founder/chef actually used to live with his family on the opposite end of the structure. While it's true this is a fine dining establishment, it still has the feeling that you are somewhere in southern France dining as a guest in a chef's home. 5/5 stars for the ambiance. Service: very attentive and classic. When your food arrives, the service staff prepare the plates and put them on the table in front of the lucky patrons so that their respective plates all land on the table at the same time. Our waters never got less than half full and the servers were all helpful with any questions. 5/5 Food: the star of the show. Normally when I go to a restaurant, I can usually decide within 2 minutes what I want to have. Even though I studied the menu before I arrived, this is one of a few places where I could just not decide what I wanted to have. And to clarify, it wasn't because nothing peaked my interest; but rather, there are just too many delicious sounding options to settle on one. The only way to resolve this problem is I will have to return in the future to satisfy my curiosity. As for what I did get, I opted to begin with the escargot. Six come to an order, and the mollusks are served in a delicious garlic butter sauce. Very good. For my entrée, again, I was torn what to get, but decided I was at a classic French restaurant, so I should try the duck. It was perfectly cooked and came with a shepherd's pie and a poached pear. The pear was delicious, but I thought the shepherd's pie was just ok (another French potato would probably have been more appropriate), but understand I am splitting hairs here: I still cleaned my plate. My girlfriend got the scallops and in addition to being the largest scallops I have ever seen, they were perfectly seared, and the risotto they were served over was creamy and delicious. Even though I don't have much of a sweet tooth, Stacy's dessert cart was phenomenal. When I do indulge, I love coffee flavored desserts, so we ended up splitting a chocolate cake that had an espresso filling and some berry reductions for balance. Absolute perfect ending to our meal. 5/5 Value: Since I've already written an essay, I'll make this short. While this place isn't cheap, if it were inside the loop, it would probably costs twice as much. The quality of food and attention to detail definitely justifies the price making it an excellent value: 5/5 Bon appetite

William M.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in North Houston. It is out of the way for us so we do not go there often but when we do, usually for a special occasion, we have excellent service and fine cuisine.

Veronica C.

Yelp
We had such a great experience at Chez Nous I would most definitely recommend this place to friends/clients. We came as guests of friends that were celebrating whom have also frequented this restaurant for well over ten years. We trusted their recommendation of doing the chef's table and boy were we so pleased we did. Every course was delicious, perfectly portioned, and exciting to try. Out of all 5 courses there was only one plate that did not blow us away (a chicken ravioli and only because the filling was a bit dry). The service and ambience was top notch. We had so much fun trying new things that we would love to visit again for special occasions. If you can, the chef's table is definitely the way to go.

Yelper E.

Yelp
The parking was something out of my worst nightmare but o wouldn't dare take away a star for such an insignificant annoyance, the food made up for it. Everything was delicious and the staff was everything. If I had to pick a menu favorite, it would have to be the escargot, c'est bon.

Paola S.

Yelp
Amazingly delicious food. Came for the first time with my family for my brother's birthday dinner with no expectations, and we all left very satisfied with everything. The food was amazing, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and everyone was wearing masks. Simply amazing, absolutely!

Katrin C.

Yelp
Dining at Chez Nous is a must if you are in the area . Their food is divine ! I enjoyed a cocktail they made specifically to my liking, sampled fine meats and cheeses as an appetizer, feasted on duckling breast , duck confit with Shepard's pie and finished with my personals highlight, a chocolate soufflé. They freshly prepared it to order , cut it in front of me at the table and poured the vanilla sauce in it . The staff was on point which made the whole experience perfect.

Oleviah H.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in downtown Humble. Chef owned French restaurant with delightful food, ambiance and service!

em g.

Yelp
Cute atmosphere, disappointing dining experience. The appetizer foie gras was perfectly seared. It was presented with wonder bread toast points. We also tried the tartare which was good but served with the same bread. The grilled stone fruit salad sounded attractive with a vanilla vinaigrette...interestingly enough, it had grapes and citrus. For our main dishes we had duck confit/breast which was good but the breast skin could have been rendered a bit more and crisped. Confit was very tender but not seasoned. The halibut was cooked nicely, but nothing notable about the coconut rice and too sweet pineapple sauce. Other members of our party had the filet medallions and pork chop which they both enjoyed. Unfortunately there was no soufflé or crème brûlée on a Saturday night? The service was a bit gruff. Our waitress repeatedly asked some of our guests to hand her things from the table. Not quite a fine dining experience.

Ana S.

Yelp
The ambiance is really quaint. Very French! It's like a little gem you can't believe could be found in Humble of all places. Service is usually very good. Love their Béarnaise sauce. The crème brûlée is my favorite dessert there. Très bien!

Daniel F.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. In the middle of residencial area what looks like a house converted in to a restaurant is one of the best places I have eaten in whole Houston are so far. It's very difficult to decide what to pick on the menu. Everything sounds great. The chef is an artist! The service was very friendly and professional. You will not be disappointed!

Marcia F.

Yelp
The food was very good overall. The halibut was the hit of the table, the tomato and shrimp soup was not. Services was attentive and intuitive. The dinner rolls provided were not hot, that was a disappointment. The worst part was a gentleman in the room that had the loudest voice that echoed over everyone, and was just ruining the everyone's dinner. One table moved from the noisy patron. When he went to the restroom, it was pleasant, came back it was nails on blackboard. 300 dollars for two to hear this man's half of a conversation. The hype for Chez Nous maybe a bit over rated.

Yelp
Its been a long time since we went, then almost weekly ... when they changed ownership and refused to admit it and sent a snooty female chef out to tell us porkies as to why the previous owner/chef was not avail, we stopped going ... but the time has come to try again!

Yelp
My boyfriend took me on a very romantic date night in December. I've been several times before as a child for special occasions and always enjoyed it. The service is consistently impeccable and the food consistently delicious. The crab, avocado, mango tower is a classic and as perfectly made as when I enjoyed it as a child. We'd highly recommend the lamb and duck. The chocolate boxes had recently made a return to the dessert menu and were as decadent and delicious as I remember. They also had good social distancing measures, not sure how they are now. Highly recommend. Their meticulous standards have not wained.

Yelp
The last time we were there was 5 years ago for our anniversary. This year we returned for the same reason. The place looks the same and parking is still limited. While there we met a couple who were celebrating their 61st anniversary. We definitely have a long way to catch up to them,...but I digress. For some reason my wife ordered the same dish as before, duck. According to her it was a little bland. As for me, I was set on the teres major steak (if you don't know , it is from the scapula) but the waiter sold me on the pork ribeye. I have to say the waiter was very knowledgeable. However, the pork ribeye was salty and this comes from a guy who likes salty food. My pork ribeye came with barley risotto, baby carrots and green beans. The risotto was good but it reminded me the years after communist took over South Vietnam where we had to eat boiled barleys on a daily basis instead of rice. I haven't touched barley since we left Vietnam until now(sorry for the digression again). Overall, dinner was good. Oh I forgot, the Manhattan was very good. Kudos to the bartender. We will return again, may be sooner than 5 years.

Yelp
This. Place. Is. Amazing! We picked it on a whim by searching "fancy restaurants near Kingwood". When we arrived it looked like a quaint building, but when you walk inside you are taken into an intimate setting with old style furnishings. The wait staff is attentive and very polite. It felt like being in an episode of Downton Abbey. The food was all spectacular. I can't say enough about it! You could tell that it was prepared specifically for you and not mass produced. Definitely a place worth going on a date night to experience an amazing evening.

Yelp
A return visit to this establishment. I was not disappointed. We were a party of seven and were seated in the very cozy bar area. Each person ate something different. Everyone was extremely happy with their choice. I devoured escargot for an appetizer. Amazing for sure. My main course was canard. This comprised of a leg and sliced breast. Absolutely heaven on a plate. For desert, we shared different flavored soufflés. My personal favorite was the passion fruit. However, all were scrumptious. The staff were very attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a must visit special restaurant.

Yelp
Bravo Chef Stacy Crowe-Simonson!!! I honestly did not know what to expect. This restaurant is located in this little quaint unassuming neighborhood of Humble. First off Humble??? What? I was thinking the same thing, how can this restaurant in Humble have such good reviews and why is it better than the many French places in Houston?! Well this place proved me wrong on so many levels. The ambiance!!! Yes, it's in a house but once you walk in, it's like I was transformed to an old restaurant in France. From the wine wall, the lighting, the table setting to the wall paper and the lamps, and the candle holders and armoire - it just eluded sophistication without trying. I was joking with my bf that it felt like the interior of the beasts' castle in Beauty and the Beast cause of the armoie, the clock, the candle holders, etc. My bf hates fancy restaurants but this one was different, it was relaxed, yet sophisticated at the same time. Definitely not at all stiff and sterile. It was comfortable and homey - lots of places try to get this right but this place nailed it. The food, the service and the ambiance were just perfection! We were celebrating a late Valentine's day and I'm so glad we came here - it was definitely worth the drive. For food, we ordered: *Escargot de Bourgogne - burgundy snails in shallot, garlic and herb butter. Never had I had such large snails in any of the restaurants in Houston. The snails were plump and garlicky and delicious. Seasoned perfectly. *Seared Fresh Foie Gras with carmelized apple, berries and honey vinegar gastrique - the foie gras is rich and decadent, like it suppose to be. But when you serve it on toast with the berries and fruit, it was the perfect bite of flavors. *Fresh Blue Crab, Mango, Avocado and Tomato Tower - I loved loved loved how fresh this was. Amazing flavors and I liked how cold it was served and how it stayed cold through the whole dish. Details ladies and gents - they nailed it on this particular detail. *Roasted Rack of Young New Zealand Lamb with Dijon-Rosemary Crust and Port-Shallot Reduction - doesn't even taste gamey or like lamb. The meat was tender little lollipops, cut table-side for presentation and comes with the most perfect reduction. It also comes with garlicky mash potatoes, green beans, spaghetti squash and carrots (both candied). Loved the mash potatoes so much! *Filet Mignon, 10oz - there is a selection of 5 or 6 different sauces. My bf got his with a peppercorn sauce. The steak itself was tender and cooked perfectly, the bf said it didn't need a sauce but I know how the French love their sauces. He devoured this and it came with the same sides above. Can't ever go wrong with a filet mignon! *Chocolate Souffle - this has to be made to order and they were quick to honor the request, even though we were here well past closing. The souffle was a bit too sweet and I couldn't taste the chocolate but it was light and fluffy. *Drinks - the strawberry moscow mule was a bit on the sweet side but good. And we also tried the gin drink that was fantastic. There is also a large wine by the glass or bottle selection. There definitely wasn't anything we ordered that we didn't like - this place nailed it all and there were no complaints. It was cute and romantic and it won my bf over, who hates fancy places. We will definitely be back and make this a staple restaurant for celebrations. I'm salivating thinking about all the food again, so hopefully I'll be back soon!
