Excellent brunch! Chicken and waffles definitely hit the spot. At the time of seating, there was only one person doing it all, but he managed nicely, and I received all of the drinks and food ordered in a reasonable amount of time. I used a pulsd deal, and it was absolutely worth it. The rum punch is nice and boozy. I'd come here again.

Did not enjoy our visit here. As a Jamaican residing in Manhattan, I wanted to love this place. My advice to this establishment - invest in management for the right experience and cooks to deliver on your recipes. Provide the type of service you aim to deliver AND treat all patrons with kindness. In Manhattan, you never know who knows who… On a Sunday afternoon at 2pm, after being open from 11am, there was no steak, no oxtail, and lack of a couple other items. Server was also the host and bartender and decided early on he had no interest in helping us so we did not tip. If you approach consistently with an attitude assuming we will not treat you fairly, I will deliver on your assumption. Curry had no flavor. Grits had lumps. Plantains were burnt. No apologies. No acknowledgment - not even from the owner who came in and never circulated to check on patrons. During our time, we watched a lady be sat and within 30 min, she got up to leave because of the lack of service and likely the lack of available food. There is SOOO much more I could say about this poor experience… but I wish this place the best. Take the reviews with a grain of salt (most are from friends, influencers, or private diners).

I attended brunch on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and we left feeling quite pleased. Maria and Omar made the experience one quite to remember. The bottomless brunch options were vast. They had an assortment of options for food and drinks. The rum punch was the highlight and it was definitely punching. The grits were cheesy and yummy and the ambience was one of a kind. I’d highly recommend you check them out if you’re in the area.

First the restaurant is located in such a beautiful location, it was nice to enjoy the water while we ate. The ambience was very pleasant and the decor was stunning. Very fresh and tasty drinks available. The food was absolutely delicious, each dish was so tasty and super enjoyable. The escargot and the mussels were delicious appetizers. And we really enjoyed the oxtail, the prime rib and the lamb. Fantastic dining experience.

Great food and great service. Recommend trying the specials. Loved the salmon and crab cakes. Not a fan of the saffron rice.

Just finished dinner here and am beyond impressed. We got a pulsd voucher for a dinner for two and I swear this is an understatement - it was incredible! You get a few drinks and some of the best delish food I've had in a really long time. I ordered the tuna tartare and the steak with the pepper sauce - im still dreaming of both and how fresh & high quality everything was. YUM. The atmosphere is very Paris-chic with a Caribbean twist, and the staff were really nice. Can't wait to go back again and again!

We had amazing oxtail and the steak frite was perfect, steaming and so delicious that we didn’t have time to unfold our napkins before devouring. We loved our experience at Chez Omar. A gem with a view of the Hudson

Cute concept of caribbean-French fusion. I've been to Omar's other restaurant, so I looked forward to visiting this new location. The DJ played great music to get the vibe going. The place has a great ambiance and vibe if you're looking for a cute night out. I'll come back to try the food.

10/10 brunch experience. Food was amazing, drinks were flowing, and the service was top tier. even got to meet Omar himself who made us feel welcome, and showed us around the space. Great vibes all around. You won't be disappointed!

I'm shocked by the poor reviews and by the fact that the restaurant is not getting more press. I've been multiple times and had most of the items on the menu. Quite simply put, this has become one of my favorite restaurants in the West Village. I travel to the Caribbean often and it reminds me fondly of Eddy's Ghetto in St Barts. The lamb chops here may be the best I've ever had, the oxtail is a favorite as well as the scallops. All of the starters are excellent with an emphasis on the conch croquettes. The wine menu is surprisingly extensive and affordable, and they even have a full bar with plenty of house cocktails reminiscent of the restaurant's Caribbean heritage. Do not let other reviews deter you, please try for yourself. For anyone wondering if this is sponsored, or if I am an "influencer" with a relation to the restaurant, the answer is a resounding NO. I have lived in the West Village for 10 years, have dined at the routinely ranked best restaurant in the world, Mirazur, on top of most every restaurant in this neighborhood. Aka you can trust this review and should try Chez Omar for the food, excellent service, and fun, cozy vibe.

Easy location, nice cozy space, not over decorated. Food and drinks were excellent. We had the chicken and waffles plus the pomegranate glazed lamb chops. Everything made fresh, huge piece of chicken, blackberry waffles did not need syrup, lamb chops a perfect medium. Rum punch was very good as well as the mimosas. Fabian was a great host. Definitely going back. Only bad thing was that I forgot to take pictures of the food and drinks.

Right on the west side highway, the restaurant is easy to get to - I was a bit confused when i entered bec it isn't that obvious that there are more rooms in the back. Of course i perused yelp reviews to make ordering decisions. so we had the scallops, the lamb chaps, beef tartare and the braised oxtail! everything tasted amazing. and the service was great!! i feel they can use some smoky/ non sweet options on the cocktail menu.

Absolutely amazing dinner!!! Loved the ambiance and staff was welcoming and accommodating. Cocktails were all really good!! NY strip was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was delicious! Escargot was sooo good! Best French onion soup I've ever had, and I had some pretty good French onion soup in France. Scallops were sweet and cooked perfectly and jerked chicken was really flavorful. Our sever was helpful and sweet and never made us feel rushed. The owner was circulating the entire time and was so kind and welcoming. I wish we lived closer and could come back here more frequently!!

One of the best dining experiences at this lovely West Village French Caribbean restaurant with delicious French classics with Caribbean twist. Beautifully appointed dining room and great service.

Bottomless mimosas and good brunch food!! Came here on a Sunday and had lovely time. The service was timely and ambiance was great.

I looked up the menu for this restaurant and decided to go for brunch. The menu online looked good and was advertised as French Caribbean food and consisted of an extra dish (lamb chops) which sounded like a great deal with the bottomless brunch option but when I went, they did not have that option on their actual menu. They need to update this as it seems deceiving. There was one waiter working during most of brunch and he was nice. The restaurant was small and only 2-3 parties were there at once at most. The front of the restaurant is well decorated but the rest of it is kind of lackluster. They have a deal where you get an entree and bottomless drinks for 90 minutes so that is what I went for. The food was very mediocre. I had the shrimp and grits and my sister had lamb sliders. The sliders had both dry meat and bread. They asked my sister how she would like the lamb cooked but sent it extra well done so did not understand what the point of asking was. She had one bite and could not eat anymore so we shared my shrimp and grits. As for the beverages, I asked the waiter to make my drink less sweet and asked which option was the least sweet. He said that the drinks had a syrup in them so they could not make it less sweet so he asked if I wanted club soda in mine to water it down. I agreed to that although I knew it would water down my drink. I then saw him making the drink and it wasn't pre-made and he could control the amount of syrup used so not sure why he could not just put less syrup... Neither the food nor drinks were of quality which is crazy because prices were not cheap. All in all this was not a place I would return to. Usually most brunches either have good food or good drinks if not both but this had neither.

Hours on website and Google say 11 am on weekends. I had even called ahead during the week + wanted to insure brunch type food would be served since there was no brunch menu on the website. Get there with folks on Sunday a little after 11am. "No, we don't open until 2pm." Very disappointed.

The food is impeccable here always fresh and delicious. you can expect to get amazing customer service and leave with a smile on your face. i love this place for brunch/lunch/dinner any time of day it is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy your meal and drink. also highly recommend it as a cute date spot

Came across this stand at Bastille Day 2024. The food looked good from a distance. They recommended the oxtail with rice and beans so I went forward with the order. Upon consumption, it was terrible! First of all, it was 20 dollars for a tiny little portion (Tina's is almost 3 times the portion for the same price if not less) Literally had only a few pieces of meat. The flavor was excessively salty. I was truly disappointed. I would never go back nor do I recommend to anyone. It was a rip off!

If you are looking for a French/ Caribbean twist, I highly recommend this restaurant. The service is always awesome and the food is amazing. My favorite appetizers are the tuna tartare and the croquettes. The place is located right in the heart of West Village so it's super convenient!

Excellent food, incredible service. Between this newer location and his Lower East Side location, Omar never disappoints! His staff always provides the best service, and the overall quality of the food is always amazing.

Food was not good. Started with a crab cake. All filler and barely any crab. Tuna tartare - bland. For my entree, I went with the scallops. What a joke! They served me 4 tiny quarter sized scallops on a bed of vegetables for $32!! This was clearly an appetizer portion. Not an entree. I brought this to the waiter's attention right away. Nothing was done. The oxtails were a descent portion but sooooo bland! No flavor at all! Overpriced food, small portions - I would never return. Do not recommend.

Nothing short of AMAZING! Service is outstanding, cocktails are always a delight and the food is the perfect representation of well blended island spices prepared with utmost chefs technique. From the West Indies to Europe, the Escargot will tantalize your pallet with every bite. My favorite is the oxtail. Besides falling of the bone with perfection, the rice and beans are 2nd to none. As you enter the artwork of island history riddles the restaurant walls taking you to a journey of the chef's background all while complementing your experience with a wonderful playlist - from Marley magic to dancehall to jazz and Afro house. The decor allows natural light during a daytime dining but as the night sets in views of the sunset along the west side river can be seen while the inside stay dim lit. Allowing the perfect ambiance for a nice evening of dining. 10/10

Picked this place because I needed a restaurant downtown with inside seating. I was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. A lot of thought was put into this restaurant from the way it was decorated to the music and menu. The food is a mix of Caribbean and French. Everything we ordered was great! It's only 2 months old so there are some kinks (like any new restaurant) but nothing major. Definitely worth a try!

The food was amazing! We had the croquets to start and the branzino and steak for dinner. Everything was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The staff was very kind and accommodating to answer all questions and making the best recommendations. 10/10 recommend.

We were excited about our find, but it was a huge disappointment. The server was not well informed in so many details. They brought out three dishes at one time, crowding the two top table. Making it unmanageable. They should have waited and spaced out the dishes for a more pleasant dining experience. 1. The crab cake was decent but had a soggy filler. It may have needed a minute or two per side more in the pan. 2. The Endive salad was subpar, the ingredients were off balance. 3. Then we get to the Moules.! The mussels were sandy and very chewy. We tried but 4 out of 6 (3 each for me and my partner) They were just horrid. We brought the matter up and the excuse was the mussels were wild and the grit was small pearls. They took them back and we ordered something different but were inclined to stop and leave. We should have. Mussels need to be soaked and rinsed in salt water to get the sand grit out which is easy to do, but clearly these were not rinsed well enough. Even the broth was gritty. We got the Tun tartare as a replacement, but after the experience we had, its was not memorable so we can't rate that dish. The kitchen needs to work in there on their prep and attention to detail. If they fix the kitchen and server issues, they will give their quality ingredients the best chance of making a good experience. This branch of Omar's has been here since March, they should have it down by now.

Delight in French-inspired Croquettes Aux Conques paired with select . Exquisite cuisine, ambiance, and top-tier service make for a perfect evening. A memorable dinner with my wife.

I called ahead of time and asked, "Would the chef mind making omissions or substitutions to accommodate food allergies." I also inquired whether the matter is best handled ahead of time or at the table. The person promptly switched to a language other than English, not at the customer's request. Food allergies are a serious medical issue that can cause deadly anaphylactic shock. They are under the regulation of the NYC Department of Health and the ADA. The response I received was more than just rude and indicates a disregard for food safety.

I came with two friends and had absolutely the best time. the wine was amazing and we really enjoyed our meal. we sat next to a large group of people and asked if we could move to another table and our waiter who was so amazing opened up a private room for us so we could chat in quiet. That kind of service is impeccable.

Had a great meal here with the family. Food was delish and the service was great. Cute restaurant and surprisingly very quiet given location on West St. Also enjoyed the nice sunset view over the Hudson.
