The BEST Indian Buffet I've ever been to. Flavor. Quality. Variety. You can find the ulitmate lunch buffet trifecta you've been searching for here 🥹 Came here early on a Sunday before the Bears game to get some grub before I spent my afternoon on $15 tall boys. Walked in with no expectations and was immediately impressed with the buffet. A plethora of options, ranging from tandoori chicken to goat curry to samosas to all the other foods I don't know by name. There was not a SINGLE dish that wasn't fresh, full of flavor, and delicious. (I tried all of em). The owner was super attentive, kind, and genuinely a great man. He explained thru our conversations with him how he provides support for his country (Nepal) and will at times work with the consulate in DC. There's a reason this place has been open for over 19 years - they do things the right way and it shows in their food. My only regret is that I didn't have a bigger stomach, otherwise I'd have gone for 4 plates! An awesome experience, that leaves me wanting to return. Amazing to think I had found this place by chance.. or rather it was the one that found me... 🫶

We had a wonderful family dinner at Curry House Nepalese and Indian Restaurant during our visit to Chicago from England. The cozy spot on South Plymouth Ct is easy to find. They offer a wide variety of authentic Nepali and Indian dishes, including flavorful curries and tandoori-grilled meals. The food was delicious and of excellent quality. The restaurant is located in the heart of the city and the staff were incredibly humble and welcoming. I highly recommend this beautiful place for any occasion meal out in the magnificent city of Chicago.

Great place to have authentic Indian Nepalese food. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday brunch. Priced at 23 $ including tax and 18% service charge. The place is at a very good location in the loop. Interiors are welcoming. Food spread is good and the goat curry today was my favourite. Service is prompt and friendly. They could add a few more dishes to the buffet and ensure the tandoori chicken is more tender . 9.5/10 for this place

Food really good! They were extremely accommodating to our food orders and our group size. The customer service was the best I’ve ever experienced! Our waitress was so nice! The owner gave us a free dessert for my friend’s bday! I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family! Such a great time! I’m truly grateful for my dining experience! Prices were reasonable! I ordered Tandoori chicken, cooked well and flavorful. A Long Island and some short of chicken dumplings that we got spicy!

Amazing food,for my first time trying I was blown away. The staff and service were exceptional. The atmosphere was minimal and there was a constant smell (nothing bad,or grotesque just noticeable). But that all goes away once you dive in the cuisine. And the naan was perfect with the buttered chicken.

A very spacious welcoming restaurant in downtown. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and were given complimentary papadams with chutneys. The service was very fast and food was really good. We ordered the papdi chaat, chili chicken momos, chicken chowmein and butter chicken. The momos were slightly tangy and the chowmein was salty. As we did not know that is how Nepalese cuisine is. The manager bought out yogurt and lemons for us to minimise the saltiness and it helped. Overall the food and staff and service were excellent. Bonus point, all their meat is halal!!

This is my FAVORITE Indian restaurant in chicago. I am a regular here. The lunch buffet is amazing with so many different options. My favorite is the mango pudding, butter chicken, farsi bhaji, masala papad, potato Papari chaat, chai tea…I could go on and on. The service is incredible!☺️

This place was pretty close to my hotel when I was staying at the Chicago Hilton (within walking distance). I tried a few Indian classics, such as the chana masala, the naan, and the mango lassi. The people here are quite friendly and serve the food with relatively nice speed. The Nepali items, like the momos, will likely come out first, as they did with our party. The person who had the momos said they were very good. My meal was also quite good. I'd say the chana masala is a bit too spicy for me. They didn't ask for spice level. However, it was still very enjoyable. Nice portion and reasonable price. The naan was soft and just overall very good. Everyone enjoyed it and they brought out some extra naan for free. The mango lassi also had a great portion and was very fresh, creamy, and delicious. Would definitely recommend. The atmosphere is simple and not extravagant. We went at 9 pm or so, and there was essentially no one else in the restaurant at that time. Simple spot with good food, and one I'd definitely consider going back to (for both Indian and Nepali classics).

*2.5 i don't know, i wouldn't come back here.. nothing super specific but overall just underwhelmed with our experience. we started off with the steamed momos which i've never had before. they were pretty gummy and the sauce was cold which ruined the experience for me. the filling inside the momos is pretty good though. we also got the mixed vegetable biryani and an eggplant curry and they were okay but not anything to write home about. maybe i didn't get the right things on the menu or they had an off day because it seems like people rly like this spot, so wld check it out if you're in the mood to see how you like it but I don't think it's for me. the service was good and the inside of the restaurant is nice

Of course my daughter would crave Indian food while in Chicago -- luckily Chicago Curry House was just a short walk from our hotel. We were seated right away at a booth by a window. After our order was taken, the place started to get really busy as it began to crowd at the entrance. In just a few minutes all tables were taken. Service slowed down a bit as the staff tried to work through the influx. We had the Shrimp Makhani, Lamb Madras and Garlic Naan. They made a mistake by giving us Chicken Makhani, but it was corrected quickly. Every entree comes with basmati rice. Portions were smaller than what we're used to, but well prepared and delicious, nonetheless. The staff was kind and apologetic for the slow service. The owner came out to greet and check on tables. We would come back here again.

Staff were nice explaining how to get the discount and how long until my order would be ready. Took it to go. Neatly packed but no utensils. One curry and one rice was the perfect amount for a normal dinner for one. The spice level of Medium was great, curry was not too creamy, and the lamb was plentiful. The price point is higher than I am used to but I could enjoy their buffet guilt free! That looked like the real deal!

I ordered from Uber eats from here, and upon entering, I was told without the person even checking in back that my order had been picked up by somebody else, and when I became alarmed, the owner came and told me to essentially shut up and that I was being ridiculous only to find that my food was still sitting in back and they had been incorrect. They were extremely rude And weren't apologetic at all. I would not recommend this place.

Everything we ordered was super delicious! We had the garlic naan, chicken tandoori (bone in half chicken), chicken curry & and the chicken mo mo. We were started off with a thin chip with 2 sauces on the side; fell in love with it immediately! It is quiet inside, they're more popular for their takeout I've noticed. Our server was very sweet & our table was always cleared of dirty dishes! Will definitely come back! So good, I had to leave a review!

South loop restaurant. Service was excellent and attentive. Waiter was knowledgeable and the owner stopped by. We had Palak Paneer (creamed spinach and paneer), chicken Marsala, Khasi ko Maasu. Basmati rice and naan. All were good but I am not a regular south Asian foodie. The Khasi ko Maasu was bone in goat. The curry was reminded me of a Japanese curry. Very good flavor and the goat was tender off the bone. The naan was excellent but slightly over burnt but too badly burnt. The tables were set well with well pressed whit table cloths creating a upscale atmosphere despite the relaxed ambiance. The restaurant appears to be doing a good takeout business. An old fashion was ordered but instead of an orange it had a twist of lemon. A mango lassi (Yogurt) drink was sweet, smooth and mangoey . My only complaint was the cost of the food. For our three entrees and 1 mixed drink and a mango lassi drink totaled $90. I read in some reviews that a weekend lunch buffet is now offered.

This is my second time coming to this place and it was just as delicious as the first time. All you can eat weekend lunch buffet for only 20$ per person. The quality is excellent, the manager is very friendly and helpful, and it's always super clean. They play a lot of electronica music over the speakers which I enjoy. Some highlights- The tandoori chicken 1000/10 some of the best bbq chicken I've had in my entire life. It's worth coming back just for this. It's so juicy and flavorful, I could eat a whole plate of just this. The chilli chicken 10/10 its super spicy and the texture is lovely, definitely a highlight. The naan are absolutely perfect. The butter chicken is rich and warm. The vegetable pakora are crispy and perfectly seasoned. Even the goat curry was excellent and I didn't think I would like goat! Literally the only thing that could make this place better is a couple more dessert options and I dont even know if I could eat them because Im so full from everything else lol.

I enjoyed the lunch buffet today at the Chicago Curry House with one of my friends. I loved the butter chicken, naan, and vegetable pakora! And she really enjoyed the goat vindaloo! The mango pudding was also tasty. The owner and server were friendly and helped me with my food allergies. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we're looking forward to returning.

Strongly recommend this place for takeout if you live in the south loop. Very very tasty food, always fresh. Good portion sizes. Very well priced. They frequently have two for one specials if you order on various delivery apps. If you dine in, they have a bar. Great service. The vindaloo and chicken samosas are my personal favorites. Also, my wife is hot.

We went because we had hoped there was the weekend buffet but unfortunately they're still not offering it. But we still decided to eat and the food was so delicious! The service was quick despite only one person serving and waiting tables. The restaurant wasn't too busy for a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too loud and we could have a conversation with each other at an appropriate volume. Can't wait to try even more food here

Solid spot! My rating is closer to 3.5 rather than 3. They easily accommodated our walk-in group of 6 which was a huge plus. Many of the Indian spots in the downtown area don't include rice with the entree so it was convenient that they did. Price point is a bit higher than what you expect especially when you get rice, vegetables, and chick peas. If you're looking for Indian food in the area I prefer the food at Himalayan Restaurant also in the South Loop. I would come back here, but not go out of my way.

My sister and I went to Chicago Curry House the last day I was visiting her in Chicago. What a perfect last meal for my trip. We ordered the mixed vegetable pakora which was delicious with so much flavor. If you like pakora, you should definitely order those. We also ordered the samosas, garlic naan, and the Navratan Korma vegetarian dish with cashew gravy. Even though I'm not vegetarian, it is one of my favorite Indian dishes. The garlic naan was the freshest I have ever eaten, and the Navratan Korma dish was the perfect choice for our main course. In addition to the awesome meal, the service was excellent. We really liked our server and the manager/owner gave us complimentary mango pudding before we left. From the kind service to the delicious food, this restaurant should be a stop if you are in Chicago or if you live in South Loop. Thank you Chicago Curry House!

We usually order from their sister restaurant Nepal House, but we've dined a few times at Curry House. I think the food is actually better from the Curry House kitchen, but both are really good. It was nice day so we decided to walk over and try their newly reopened lunch buffet. We thought it was a tremendous value (the cost of one entree at dinner basically) and plenty to choose from. There were a few things I wish they had, but it looks like every day is a bit different as I saw signs for other dishes set on the side for use later/another day. Naan you ask for from the servers who were super attentive and friendly. Everything else is self serve. The butter chicken, tandoori chicken and veggie curries were excellent. Plenty of vegetarian choices as well. I'm not sure why others are surprised prices are up from pre pandemic as food costs are way up everywhere. We had a great time, excellent service and amazing value. We will be back!

My favorite Indian buffet in Chi since pre-pandemic. Excellent price for the variety you get, fresh naan, papadam, lamb, chicken, etc. They refill the food in small batches to keep it fresh. Everything is delicious. They do charge 18% for service and being upfront about it. Service is great and warm. I am so glad the buffet is back for weekends. Buffet hours 11am-3pm.

Had a work lunch order through Fooda for Chicago Curry House. It's funny because I lived 2 blocks away from this spot for two years and never went, but it always smelled great from outside. I ordered the Chicken Makhani which came with a side of rice. The dish had a great spiced curry flavor to it without a ton of spicy heat to it, so pretty mild while still very flavorful. The chicken was also tender and seemed to be seasoned in a tandoori style. Very good portion size and was perfect on a cold Chicago day. The packing was great - the curry came in a plastic contain but with added plastic wrap around it to prevent from any spills/seeping coming from it. Definitely give Chicago Curry House a try - I will be ordering again later and want to kick up the spice meter another notch!

I've been coming here for years and the food and service is always great. Today I visited alone and it was probably the best experience I've ever had here. I ordered the lamb samosas which were sooooo good and the perfect temperature. I also ordered the Aloo Mutter which was pretty good and had the perfect temperature. The owner paid a visit to my table several times offering me free items from tea to naan, wine, and desserts. Unfortunately I had to turn them down because of food allergies I have, but it was such a kind gesture. The atmosphere is always nice and peaceful. The owner mentioned that he has been in business for 17 years which is cool to hear. Anyways, this place is great and I highly recommend whether you're dining in person or ordering delivery!

I've been wanting to try the Chicago Curry House for some time now and I was really impressed! I stopped by with a friend and had the Vegetable Samosas and Chicken Vindaloo. I also ordered a Mango Lassi to pair with our meal. The vegetable samosas were pretty big! They were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was served with sweet tamarind and spicy cilantro chutney. I loved the Chicken Vindaloo. The saucy curry was so fragrant and seasoned. Paired with the basmati rice, it made for an incredible bite. However, do not get the chicken vindaloo if you are sensitive to spicy heat. Even as someone who loves and seeks out spicy food, the spice level was pretty intense for me (even though I loved it). The mango lassi was a great complement because the creamy sweetness balanced the spicy chicken vindaloo. I also ordered a lamb curry to go which was rich and creamy without being overwhelming! I'm hoping to stop by again soon and try out the weekend buffet!

Warm, comfortable space and the food is tasty :D We had the Masala Chai, fried vegetable momos (good flavor & lil kick) and Malai Kofta (decadent, spice-ful) and garlic naan (moist but crispy edges, nice and garlic-y). We ordered a very large number of items this evening that totaled $173. When my husband arrived to get the food, they did not have it ready. He waited for 30 minutes. When he arrived home, the order was incorrect. The non-vegetarian plate did not include nearly enough meat to justify $55. They tried to compensate by giving us white rice and extra naan and some unknown orange sauce. Everything was lacking flavor. Where is my chicken?! I won't be returning.

I arrived here for dinner with a few buddies, unsure of what to get for our money. The meal was decent but not outstanding, the waitstaff was kind, and the atmosphere was classic. We were surprised to find that there was plenty of seats. It is within the acceptable range. The chicken curry, garlic naan, and Tandoori chicken were especially good.
