At Chicken G's, skip the sides and focus on the fried chicken - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"A meal at Chicken G’s might leave you with singed fingertips, but that won't stop you from coming back to this halal spot in the FiDi. Each piece of fried chicken is made to order, so it arrives almost too hot to touch, but we’re happy to risk a scorched appendage or two if it means getting to our first bite faster. And each of those bites is inevitably followed by dripping juices, so keep the napkins handy and the plastic ramekins of spicy house sauce nearby for dipping. While many of the meal combos come with sides like texas toast, spicy french fries, and mac and cheese, they’re all skippable. The fried chicken in all forms is solid, but the pieces are superior—the strips and the sandwich are often coated in too thick of a crust with drier meat. There’s almost always a free table here, but this spot has nailed their takeout operations, so even after a long Muni ride home, your chicken will still be crispy. Food Rundown Combo Two pieces of juicy fried chicken. You’ll love them. But you’ll love the included side a lot less. To make the most of it, go for the spicy fries that are limp and overseasoned, but are okay to pick at. photo credit: Patrick Wong Tenders Basket Order the basket to save yourself a few bucks and to not be weighed down by the sides. Think of these as an inferior version of the fried chicken pieces with too heavy of a crust and without nearly the same level of juiciness." - Patrick Wong

Google
Great place for late night eats. I had one of the chicken sandwiches with regular fries. The sandwich was large and heavy- great flavor and crunch! The staff were nice and friendly. Food came out quick. Got a look at an order of chicken wings and they looked good too- will try next time.

Google
we were famished and cold. we walk into this place. the food LOOKS good. Keyword “looks”. we order 2 meals and we’re astonished to see the prices. “pricy! must be good right?” WRONG! food was absolutely horrible. do not come here if you want to remain sane. Almost half of the 3 sorry building is closed off. (for a reason) Do not go downstairs unless you want to watch The Conjuring. Fries taste like they were dipped in Tajín and cajun, not pleasant. A bone from the chicken stabbed the roof of my mouth causing me to suffer severe aching pain and throw up. Although the food may seem nice for pics, it is not nice for my taste buds and stomach. Not to mention there are flies everywhere. absolutely horrible place, food, and service. It upset me, my friends pocket, AND my stomach. If i could go back in time and choose where to eat, I would rather eat 7-11 food. Do not ever come here. My stomach and mouth is in pain. I want my 55$ back immediately!!!!

We ordered the Friend's Meal for takeout online and picked it up in-store. We had the Friend's Meal, which includes 8 pieces of crispy fried chicken, fries, texas toasts, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. Everything was pretty delicious, crispy, flavorful, and satisfying! One highlight was the variety of house sauces! They gave us plenty, and each had its own unique taste, adding a nice touch to the meal.

Google
Halal and never frozen fried chicken = delicious! Came in for a bite to eat with my kids- fried chicken sandwich for me, basket of tenders for the kids. Housemade lemonade and a cup of hot chai really hit the spot too.

After meeting up at the tower, there were 3 people that wanted Greek food, and the rest wanted fried chicken, so Delmar slugged each of the Greeks in the shoulder, and the rest of us walked over to Chicken G's! What a great decision, I had a fried chicken sandwich, and it was Spectacular! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Google
Really good chicken! We bought The G Meal plus some sides which was enough for 2 people. The chicken was crispy and delicious. However, their fries were soft and their mac and cheese quite firm and a little cold when we got it. Their Texas Toast was okay, but not sure I understood the idea of having it with chicken.

Google
Huge, crispy, hot, juicy, and flavorful piece of deep fried chicken. Probably the best fried chicken sandwich in the city! Samples of hot Indian chai tea was delicious as well as the fresh pineapple juice drink. My review reflects the tables being dirty when there was absolutely nobody else dining but one other person. My side of Mac n cheese was room temperature at best and lacked flavor. Service was great and overall experience was good.

Google
The expectations were pretty high given some of the reviews here, however, the employee even though he was wearing gloves, he was touching his phone while talking to someone on the phone, no masks, no hats, nothing. Is it okay to talk over someone’s food while touching your phone? Probably not. The chicken itself was good, but the fries were tasteless. Not sure if I was just unlucky. I’d come back to this place if hygiene was taken seriously. Please, finish preparing the food before using the phone… especially in the kitchen!

Yelp
This was some of the crunchiest chicken I've had ever, so if you're a fan of the crunch - this is the spot to go. We hit this place up because their chicken is halal, which was fantastic since I was with someone who eats halal only. (Personally, I think the quality of halal meat is better, but that's a discussion for another time.) Regardless, the exterior of the chicken was extremely crunchy, while the interior was still nice and juicy. The man who helped us was also very kind and accommodating. He happily explained some of the menu items to us and easily adapted when we changed our order. He also gave us an estimated time and halfway opened our Jarritos for us to be able to take them back to our hotel since we didn't have a bottle opener. The only gripe I had was that the mac and cheese was bland and wasn't my favorite, but I won't dock them too much for that. I would just recommend getting fries or a different side.

Yelp
I showed up as soon as they opened at 11am, which I wasn't sure if that was a pro move or a rookie, because I was the only person in there but it didn't matter I was starving. 1 dude working the entire place, again there might have been more in the back - I think I was the first customer of the day. This guy was a MAGICIAN. food took a bit of time, but it's one guy - what can you do. He delivered hands down the largest chicken sandwich I have ever had in my life. It was so crispy, tender, juicy and flavorful with the perfect balance of pickles, sauce, lettuce and tomato. It was SPOT ON. The fries were dece, the mac n cheese better. But you go because of the chicken. Not sure if I'd eat there...kinda looked like a 90's Wendy's with way too much tile and not enough light. But you definitely take out from there.

Yelp
I always pass by this place and finally tried it. On the outside it says "premium style chicken" and, so I had the impression it would be a some Nashville chicken sandwich joint, but I tasted the sandwich, and the sauce was a medium spicy curry sauce. Pretty tasty! I give Chicken G a 3, only because the sandwich bun was lightweight cold, I expected it to be at-least warm/ slightly toasted. But the fried chicken was very crispy and tender. The way they breaded the chicken was light and flaky. The service was chill. They serve free housemaid Chai tea and provide water to drink, which is nice. They call your number and you take your food to your seat. I will most likely come back again to see more from this Chicken spot!

Yelp
Came here for a late night snack. We ordered yhe g meal that comes with 4 pieces of chicken and 2 sides. The chicken is freshly fried and delicious, it can compete with Popeyes for sure. The Mac and cheese is nice a cheesy but the seas9n fries were a bit over seasoned and was very salty. I think this is my new go to place for fried chicken in the city.

Yelp
The chicken is the star of the show. Crispy-fried without being greasy. Servings are generous- I just finished a sandwich and a side of cole slaw, and I'm not proud of myself [starts jogging in place]. Having tried both, I recommend the fried chicken over the sandwich- that beautiful, crispy chicken gets lost in soggy shredded lettuce and a very uninspired bun. And, since the bun is round and the chicken is a strip, you'll have almost as many chicken-less bites as not. It's a good lunch, though, and good for the price here in the Financial District. And, the cole slaw is quite good (if you're a cole slawer).

Yelp
Here at Chicken G's for the first time. They only serve chicken products. I'd say the bird is expertly fried. Golden and mightily crunchy. Made fresh. I like the pictures of the food items. Makes it easy to select something, since you can see a preview. The prices, steep. I ordered the Loaded Fries, and they were certainly loaded!!With lots of great toppings. With chicken and cheese and their signature sauces. It was enough for two people, for $15. More than I was expecting to pay, but thank goodness it was large/shareable. They close pretty late. Try to come in before ten though. Before they close off the dining area and mandate that all of the orders will be to-go. Customer service left much to be desired. No big deal though. Great place! I will come in again to sample the sides.

Yelp
Stopped by here when I was in the area on a Saturday evening for a quick bite. No line and plenty of tables to sit at. We thoroughly enjoyed this tender basket and it was quite sizable as well. Crispy, freshly fried chicken with great sauces to go with it (garlic, chili, and curry). The batter was light and the chicken wasn't dry. They also serve free chai tea which is a nice bonus. Would recommend trying!

Yelp
When I ate my first few bites of my fried chicken and thought about what I'd write for this review, the word "mid" came to mind. As I kept eating....I decided this is just straight up below average. I ordered the Combo #1 that came with 1 chicken drumstick and 1 larger chicken piece, maybe a breast. It came with a Texas toast, and for my side I chose coleslaw. The fried chicken was dry as hell, and all the fried pieces fell off my chicken. There was some sort of flavor between the chicken meat and the breading that was super strange. It was overall very difficult to eat. I used a knife and nothing was working. The Texas toast was basic, not as good at Raising Cane's. The coleslaw was decent, a bit strong on the creaminess/dressing but probably the best thing I ate there. This is completely below average of any other fried chicken I've had. Jack-in-the-box, Popeye's, are way better. Walk yourself to SOMA to eat The Bird as it is eons better than Chicken G's. Service was slow too! And there were only 3 of us in the restaurant when I went.

Yelp
This unsuspecting late night spot is INCREDIBLE!!! Fried chicken is CRISPY, flavorful, BIG, and nongreasy!! Loved the sandwich and the loaded fries with fried chicken! The fries are well seasoned! Can't say enough about this spot! Def coming back!! There's also a vegetarian options for sandwich and Mac n Cheese!

Yelp
Got this one to go. The restaurant is tucked in the side, with access in the front and back. It was completely empty when I went in but it was about 5pm. Seems like a quick pop up chicken spot, but the quality was fantastic. Ordered the Naughty-Chick, with fries and the extra G sauce. Fries were pretty standard, but the sauce is amazing. Very flavorful and a thicker consistency. The sandwich was also fantastic, with a large piece of friend chicken. Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and filling.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience. First the complementary chai offered was really really good. Way better than elchai Co.s chai. I tried 3 different burgers and they were all very delicious. The chicken was not dry so they get bonus points for that.

Yelp
I am compelled to leave a review. I ordered the "Naughty Chick," which came with a side (I chose fries). After ordering, the nice man at the counter gave me complimentary chai tea, which sounds off-theme for a fried chicken joint, but the establishment staff are middle eastern. The chai was excellent!! I would come back even just for the chai. I took my order home (to-go) and was very pleased to see that the portions were generous (relative to what I oftentimes observe in SF). The chicken was so fresh and perfectly deep-fried. The spice level on this sandwich was no joke. My lips were burning to the point that I had to pour myself a glass of almond milk on the side & pick off the Serrano peppers after eating about 1/5 of the sandwich. The fries were also pretty spicy, but they season the fries on the spot (from what I can tell), so I think you can ask them to do less spice on the fries when you order. They also threw in a variety of sauces on the side in my to-go bag. The yellow sauce was my favorite (and I believe it's the same one they put on the sandwich). Do not skip Chicken G's. Everything was chef's kiss. Including tax and 20% tip (and let's not forget the side of fries that came with), I paid $17.67 - great value for a very tasty, fresh lunch that left me feeling full. I'll be trying the regular (non-spicy) chicken sandwich next time to experience more of the chicken's flavor, rather than spice. So glad I stumbled upon this place on Yelp!

Yelp
Went to Chicken G yesterday with a friend and it did not disappoint! The chicken sandwich was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor definitely one of the best I've had. The tenders were super tenders and perfectly seasoned. Big shoutout to Ameena she was so sweet and made our visit even better with her great service. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Ayanna S.

Yelp
Hands down best chicken tenders that I've ever had! Crunchy tenders are my favorite, and this is crunch level 1000 + full of flavor. I love their sauces as well, especially the G sauce. The young guy at the front was also super friendly and gave great service. I've been talking about these tenders nonstop ever since! Definitely a must try!

Yelp
Emotional damage. This was such a disappointment. Coworker and I stopped by a week or two ago since we've had our eyes on the fried chicken. Emotional damage. Pros: + Juicy and crispy + Cashier was kind enough to throw in 3 thighs versus the usual 2 Cons: - Overly salty and absolutely lacking in flavor What We Ordered: - 4 piece combo The combo comes with fries and mac and cheese, but I didn't make it to the mac and cheese. Thankfully, the chicken wasn't dry! What a save! They also inject or rub buffalo sauce inside the core of the chicken, which was...interesting. It wasn't seasoned well, so all we really tasted was salt. Everyone has a different idea of what great fried chicken is, so for a better understanding, I am a Vons Korean fried chicken and Capitals in Chinatown kind of fried chicken girl. Much disappoint. Not returning.

Yelp
I personally think Chicken G's is pretty good but not my favorite. The services okay. But they have a verity of drinks to choose from. The ambiance is okay they have an upstairs level and a downstairs level. They are open late so if you are craving fried chicken then this is a good option.

Yelp
I saw the great reviews and knew I had to try this place. I also knew that portions seemed to be large, so I convinced my husband to join for a weekday lunch. There was zero line as downtown SF on weekdays is a dead-zone. We ordered a Big G with mac and cheese. Everything is made to order so it takes a little longer for them to call your number - BUT note there have a delicious chai tea on the back right of the counter - piping hot - help yourself! The sandwich was humungous, and a little messy. The crisp on the chicken was exactly what you want and the chicken was cooked expertly. The mac and cheese was good, but could have been hotter. Even splitting this meal, I was was uncomfortably full. If I go alone - I will opt for a kids chicken finger meal. The workers were very friendly for just a counter place.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Chicken G's for awhile and I'm glad I got the chance today. I ordered the Big G, which is a huge piece of fried chicken with lettuce, tomato, and onion with a "tangy garlic sauce." I unfortunately didn't taste much of the sauce. I think it would've brought the needed acidity to balance the fried chicken. I think pickles would've helped, too. But it was a decent fried chicken. It's is really crispy on the outside and very juice on the inside. I just wish it had more flavor. It also came with fries and they were pretty good. It looks like they are dusted with paprika, or maybe bay seasoning though it didn't taste like it. The portion of fries look small compared to the massive piece of chicken, but I think it's the right portion. For the price (roughly $16 with tip), it's not bad. It's probably one of the more affordable options, especially since a sandwich comes with a side of your choosing. I got my food to go, so I can't comment on the ambiance. They have couches to sit on while you wait for your order. They're definitely not corporate-furniture - perhaps owned by the owners at one point. But they're comfy. The woman who took my order was nice and I got my food pretty quickly. I'm not sure I'd get the sandwich again. But I do like the chicken and maybe a combo meal that comes with Texas toast will be more up my alley.

Yelp
My friends and I stumbled upon Chicken G's after the downtown SF event. If we had not done so, I would have never had these delicious fries...

Yelp
A new FiDi lunchtime option on Kearny, specializing in fried chicken. While they have bone-in chicken and chicken tenders, the specialty here seems to be the chicken sandwiches. After having one of those delicious halal fried chicken sandwiches, you'll forget Chick-fil-A even exists. Bad Boy!: Apparently I was ordering off-menu. While this is listed online for ordering, in person it's not on the menu board. However, it can be ordered so just go for it! Loved the super crispy chicken breast. Liked the crunch all over. The spicy sauce against the cheddar was the perfect combo of heat and cheesy goodness for me. Plus the heat and spices help contrast the rich fried chicken. Good texture contrast against the soft bun. Minimal lettuce for a little greenery, but careful not to be veggie overload. My Veg G: The veggie patty seemed like a crunchy potato and chickpea pakora. I really loved the texture and flavors, compared to bland veggie pucks like BOCA. The rest of the sandwich was similar to the chicken sandwich format with the soft bun, thick cheddar slice, a little bit of lettuce with thin onion slices and mayo-based spread. Only problem was that I was spoiled by the fried chicken sandwich that I had here before. This is solid for a veggie sandwich compared to other veggie sandwiches, but their chicken is just so amazing that any meat-eater should just go with that. Fries: Slight spice over some crispy potato. A nice complement to the chicken sandwich. Decent portion. Mac & Cheese: Packed with so much creamy deliciousness! Imagine your favorite creamy frozen mac & cheese, but even better. Though this is basically just cheesy pasta with a little breadcrumbs sprinkled on top when you order. There is no crispy gratinée on top like you might get in fancy baked mac & cheese dishes. While tastier than the fries, it feels like a much smaller portion, so keep that in mind if you're super hungry. Raspberry Lemonade: Fresh. Refreshing. Made in house. Much better than some soda option. I especially like how the raspberry mixed up the flavor profile. Lemonade: I think I prefer the raspberry variant of the lemonade. This one seemed a bit too tart. Even when the ice melted, it was then watery and still a little sour. The raspberry is key for adding just the right sweetness counterbalance.

Yelp
I can understand why this place has other franchises. This is the newest I do believe. They know what's up with the fried chicken game. The menu is simple but effective. I'm not going to call it the best chicken sandwich I've had in the city. It's not in the elites. It's very high level though. It's among the flakiest pieces of fried chicken I've ever consumed. I can respect that. Their secret sauces were top tier. The mac and cheese was sort of sad. I guess I would get the fries next time. Good fried chicken. Simple and plain. If you like that kind of thing then give this a shot. (3.9 Stars)

Yelp
Got a crispy chicken sandwich combo meal with seasoned fries. Chicken is quite good; very crispy yet juicy and the breading is well seasoned. Fries are decent. Comes with some free chai while you wait which was also very good. Will be back soon; portion is massive and the pricing is decent

Yelp
We shared the friends meal. It was quite good, and a good value. The dining area could be kept up a little better. The staff were very nice.

Yelp
I love chicken and this place did not disappoint! Their batter is perfection. Perfectly seasoned with delicious and flavorful spices and perfectly fried. The tenders were not as juicy as I would like it to be but I'm just eating it for the delicious batter. The sandwich and the chicken pieces were juicy tho because those were made with dark meats. Fries were seasoned but alright (I like thinner fries). They have seating upstairs but you would have to clean the tables yourself. They also have a connect four game

Sevinch Z.

Yelp
I ordered the Big G, with French fries on the side, I picked up my order, I came home, they did not put french fries, I tried to call them, they picked up the phone, he said, he will message me through whats Up to send him the picture of the food, but he never messaged, I tried to call them couple of times, never answered to my phone. I am super dissapointed with them.

Yelp
Food: 3 Decor: 3 Service: 4 Came here for the grand opening today. The Big G, 14 3/5. Overall okay. Fries were decent, and I would have liked a crisper chicken with a bit less breading. Also had too much onions for me. They have 4 types of sandwiches, of which one is veggie. They also have traditional fried chicken combos. Sides include fries, coleslaw, and mac n cheese. Service was great and they gave away free chai.

Yelp
My bf and I drove pass this establishment around 12:30am on Saturday. We saw a sign and it said open until 1 am so we rushed back to try to order but they refused to service us because the workers are lazy and wanted to leave early. This is false advertisement. If y'all can't stay open until 1am then get rid of that sign and change the hours of operation. Bad business model. This is straight up disappointment for people who want to support local businesses like yours.

Yelp
This was the old Super Duper burger place. Delicious chicken sandwich and crispy seasoned fries! But prep was super duper slow even though there was only one other customer there. The spicy chicken is very spicy. Loved it.
google avatar

Oliver M.

Yelp
The chicken sandwiches are hella good. worth every penny too. Came out piping hot I literally burned my mouth biting into it. So careful! Their Mac and cheese and saucy and the macarroni itself was nice and al dente which I loved. But the fries are better imo. Service was fast less than a 10 minute wait after ordering. Small little hole on the wall seating though. They have a couch to sit on of you're waiting for food which is a nice touch.
google avatar

Gerard Y.

Yelp
A fried chicken sandwich with fries and a drink that's less than $20? Count me in! I ordered the Big G which is basically a fried chicken sandwich that has several big chicken breast pieces with light sauce. The chicken had crispy batter but the meat was juicy. The fries were lightly seasoned; crispy too and not soggy. A pretty big sandwich considering the price.
google avatar

Josh A.

Yelp
Best chicken sandwich in the city. The chicken is so fat it doesn't even fit the bun you can rip off half of it and make another sandwich. It's actually seasoned, and so are the fries. Make sure to ask for a side of hot sauce & garlic sauce.

Great food Ok service ... great for the price and tasty too!! Great spice level... wait time us a bit long. But worth it !

Yelp
Wow! Recently opened in FiDi, this halal chicken place is AMAZING. The chicken tenders, although white meat, were super juicy and there seemed to be another layering of flavor/sauce underneath the skin which made it taste really good. They take about 8 minutes for tenders and maybe a little less for the chicken sandwich as they fry it on the spot after you order, so the chicken is piping hot when you receive it. I wanted to get the tenders which came with one side, which was not on the main menu, so just needed to ask the server and they said we could do tenders with a side. They have two different dipping sauces, one was like a thousand island dressing kind of like Raising Cane's sauce and the other was a spicy mustard, not my favorite so I stuck with the lighter tan colored one. There is plenty of seating both above and below the main floor where you order and it's very clean and cute. There is a kids section, a prayer room, and a bunch of board games! I will definitely be coming back to try their chicken sandwich and enjoy their nice vibes! 3 Chicken Tenders with side Mac & Cheese (5/5): Amazing, the chicken tenders were delicious and moist and so flavorful. The mac and cheese is so creamy and delicious as well. The Big G: My friend ordered this sandwich and while I didn't take a bit, it looked delicious. The chicken was again super juicy.
google avatar

Yelp
As far as downtown SF lunch time options go, this is about as solid as it gets on a budget. The chicken sandwich is large and crispy and tasty, pair it with some fries and you are all set. For me, it is close to work, fast, cheap, they have indoor seating, that's pretty much all you can ask for. Free chai is offered in the pickup area. It is definitely on the sweet side, but a nice touch while you are waiting for your food. Everything comes out pretty quick considering the type of food that is being ordered.

Yelp
Came to SF for afew days and I decided to try this place and I ordered two combos, I gotta say if you are in the area and want to take food back to ur hotel this is the place for a good chicken sandwich. I ended up having dinner the second night, the guys working there are seriously cool guys, the order was fresh and meal was not, banging fries. A must try trust me.

Yelp
I love this place. Huge pieces of fresh fried chicken on their sandwiches. Great value for the money.

Yelp
Customer service was so friendly! The restaurant is huge. They had free chai tea at the register and it was DELICIOUS. I got a fried chicken sandwich to go and it was sitting in the bag for a long time. IT WAS STILL CRISPY! The seasoned fries were amazing too.

Yelp
We were doing escape rooms nearby. We planned to have dinner after our games but we had so much fun over there, we opted to do another room, this making it super late for dinner so plans had to change. On our way to a cookie shop called Insomnia, we walked by and discovered Chicken G's. What caught our eye was that they open until 1am AND they were Halal which is a must for a member of our group. Upon entering the restaurant, it was a bit weird as there was such a big open space with couches as if it was a lobby of a Hotel. Like if you sat at one of the couches, you're literally staring at the cashier desk where you place your food orders. If you go up a few steps of stairs, there's a small area with some tables and chairs for dine in orders. We came around 10pm and yes, it's late, but there's still a few hours before they closed, yet, a lady started mopping the dining area so when we had to walk back down to get our food, the floor was SLIPPERY. Also, idk if their restrooms were out of order or what but a member of our group went downstairs and he said he saw a playground for like kids and the bathroom wasn't open? That was a bit inconvenient as our hands are all oily and dirty from the food. Surprisingly, even after we finished eating, there were still people waiting for their orders and a short line to place orders too! Now, onto the food. The food came out fairly quick... I'd say 15-20 mins. I didn't mind since that means the food is fresh and made after the order so the food isn't just sitting out already made. One person in our group got combo 1 which is basically a thick piece of toast, 1 drumstick, 1 thigh and a choice of side - fries, Mac n cheese or coleslaw (about $12). Another person got one of their chicken sandwiches that comes with 1 side (around $12) and she loved it. She said it was super well seasoned and flavorful. The piece of chicken was HUGE. Then me and 2 others got their friend/family combo (around $39?) which comes with 4 drums, 4 thighs, 3 toasts, and 3 sides. Those prices are pretty damn fair nowadays with everything being so expensive. Each order came with some kind of mayo sauce and a yellow, spicy aioli? Not too sure what it was. The chicken had a slight spiciness too it but not too much and was SUPER crispy. They fried it really well and the chicken was juicy and I would say pretty well seasoned. Chicken was a solid 8/10. I would prefer mine to be more spicy. The fries was well seasoned but I personally like crispier fries so I'll give it a 6/10. What's awesome about this place was they had a beverage dispenser with cups on the side. I thought it would be water but it was some Masala Chai Tea I believe! Warm and refreshing!,I would definitely appreciate a water fountain though. They have a small counter with napkins, forks, knives, and small plastic sauce containers right next to their ketchup pump. I guess we came so late that there wasn't any ketchup left and had to ask for packets. I'm sure they're still working out some things as they just opened not long ago but definitely solid place for Halal fried chicken!

Yelp
Not a great chicken sandwich Way overpriced Pick up service is outsourced, the order was not started when I got there at the estimated time

Yelp
Yikes. If the state of cleanliness of the dining room was any indicator this place needs some help. As I walked the dining room and viewed where to sit, of all the tables there wasn't a single clean one to choose from. I changed my order to go as a result. The chicken itself wasn't bad. It just got lost in the insanely weak bun they use for sandwiches coupled with gobs of too much dressing or sauce. The coleslaw was overly soggy and really unappetizing. If I were to eat here again I would just get chicken and try out their french fries. In all, this place makes it hard to envision a repeat visit by choice.

Yelp
Hadn't had fried chicken for a while (went vegetarian years ago) but it's one of the foods I do miss, and the place smelled so good I gave it a shot. It was worth the momentary lapse. The naughty chick is spicy, with jalapenos, an amazing dressing and of course the juicy and crispy chicken. The tenders too were large and delicious, and they were made with some kinda sauce and spice mix that lent them a lot of flavor and didn't need to be dipped in anything. It won't hurt if they decide to carry some ranch though, which could be an excellent accompaniment to the spicy fried goodies. A couple tabasco bottles won't go amiss either. The cashiers and cooks are sweet too and excited to help out. There's these comfy large red couches you can lounge on too.

Yelp
I got the Big G with fries on the side. The sandwich was HUGE, and the piece of fried chicken was so big that the bun couldn't hold it in, I had to cut some pieces off so that I wouldn't make a whole mess The bun was eh (saw that it was typical store-bought buns) but the chicken was really nice! Very crispy and not too oily, was even crispy after it got a bit cold (I eat very slow). The seasoning and the sauce was very unique and special.

Yelp
The food here is great. I'd recommend any of the sandwiches or the fried chicken itself here. My biggest issue is the insanely long wait times for the food. One time I ordered in person and my sandwich took 45 minutes to come out I lid you not. Another time I ordered through doordash and the driver got to the restaurant and then they decided to start making our food so it took about an hour and 15 minutes to get to use when I only live in North Beach. If you don't mind the wait, it's totally worth it but I suggest you keep the wait time in mind.

Yelp
Sometimes you are just craving some fried chicken, ya know? Chicken G hits to spot! The chicken itself was moist and fresh, and (importantly) not greasy at all. The skin was extremely crispy, and actually reminded me of what KFC used to be back in the day (sigh for the fast food of yore)...maybe the crispiest I've had in the Bay. I ordered the "G meal," which comes with 2X thighs + legs, 2 sides, and 2 pieces of Texas toast. It's a lot of food, so bring friends. The chicken was definitely the star, although the mac & cheese was also fresh and had the right balance of cheese-to-pasta. The cole slaw was just ok, and the toast was pretty meh (not toasty?). I didn't love that you really only have 3 sides to choose from (the last one being fries), and I would have appreciated more green/veggie options. I also didn't love their ordering scheme. If you want more than 2 pieces of chicken (normal for a sit down meal), you are essentially forced into a "meal" with too many sides. Apparently you can order à la carte, but they charge $4 each, regardless of type. I feel like that's a missed opportunity, especially if you are simply craving chicken. That said, the chicken itself was good enough that I will definitely add it to the roster!

Yelp
The food here was spectacular. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and tender. And the workers showed kindness to everyone in the shop. Also the aesthetic of the shop was amazing with a beautiful upstairs table seating area and even a prayer room for Muslim customers. 5 stars 10/10 must try again
