The Spots Of The Summer, Atlanta Edition - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"It’s getting too hot to hop around the city. Post up on this Buckhead patio under a turquoise umbrella with a margarita pitcher and a bowl of ceviche with sweet oranges. If your day drinking somehow turns into night, don’t worry. Chido & Padre’s string lights will come on, and the tacos with spicy chicken make dinner here easy too." - juli horsford, jacinta howard, nina reeder

Chido & Padres - Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The vibes at Chido and Padres in Buckhead change depending on where you sit and when you come. One bar features bright colors, flowers, and Frida Kahlo portraits on the walls and ceilings while the other moodier, more romantic bar has dark wood accents and low lighting. And the outdoor patio is a premier destination on balmy afternoons for the scene chasers who can’t sit outside without a margarita in hand. But luckily the food is solid no matter where you post up at this trendy spot. Get the queso fundido topped with pumpkin seeds for some fun cheese pull action. If hunger hits hard, the cheesy, crunchy quesabirrias stuffed with your choice of lamb or brisket is the best thing on the menu." - Juli Horsford

10 Best Atlanta Restaurants and Bars for Mexican Food and Margaritas | Eater

"This Buckhead spot with Ed Hardy vibes is a must visit on Taco Tuesday, or any day, thanks to their incredible happy hour specials. From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day you’ll find half-off deals on snacks including guacamole and queso. Save room for the smoked brisket tacos, their most popular tacos filled with tender, smoky meat. Balance it out with the mango rico margarita, a sweet and spicy concoction of Cazadores Reposado, Ancho Reyes, lime juice, agave nectar, and mango puree. Have a four-legged friend? Bring him along — the patio is dog friendly." - Vox Creative

Had guacamole, short ribbon and chorizo sopas, tuna tostados, skirt steak fajitas, churros, and a watermelon magarita. Everything was ok...nothing spectacular except the menu items. It's like you read the menu as a foodie and your cravings are excited in anticipation of a flavor bomb...but it only delivers a scant of a spark... Some items were well seasoned i.e. the quac was giving elevated chipotle vibes but the sopes were screaming for salt. The tuna tostados were good but the foodie in me recognized the tuna itself wasn't the freshes...probably one day away from throw away if not used. The Mexican rice that accompanied the fajitas was light and fluffy but the charro beans need a pinch more of flavor. The skirt steak had a nice marinate but instead of cutting it in slices it was cut in chunk like pieces making it tough to eat and the accompanying onions and peppers were screaming for seasoning. Churros were good but if taken out of the fryer about 10 secs earlier they would have been a little less dry on the inside. The chocolate dipping sauce had a watered down flavor while the vanilla sauce was delicious...The waiter was nice however new, so really didn't have the answers to basic questions about the menu...but had no problem going to ask the kitchen for accuracy. The complimentary salsa was very cilantro forward with extremely thick tortilla chips...not my vibe. I prefer spicy, thin and crispy. The atmosphere is friendly and the interior is decorated nicely. Overall not really worth the drive and traffic but if you are in the area and are craving Mexican...check it out. Hopefully the chef will be generous with the seasoning flavor on your visit because the menu is promising. Oooh the watermelon margarita...blah. They use fresh watermelon puree and obviously didn't do a good job picking that sweet ripe watermelon that everyone gambles on.

Enjoyed my first time here. Hard to decide between 4 or 5 stars; I really enjoyed the food and live music. Some of the food was amazing, but some of it was just OK. We came here on a quiet Thursday evening. I really liked the Lamb Birria tacos and the chips and salsa. The lamb may not be for everyone, but I loved it. I also enjoyed the Ceviche, but it was very heavy on the lime flavor FYI. The fajitas were just OK, in my opinion. It came with some tortillas that weren’t cooked fully. I also had a gimlet that was good. Loved the outdoor seating and live music, too. Overall, I’d recommend the Birria tacos (especially the lamb ones if you like lamb) and the chips and salsa were really really good. Great drink too.

Google
Chido and Padres hits every element of Mexican restaurant perfectly - love the interior decor/vibe, awesome patio area with ample seating, and most of all: fantastic Mexican food. IMO chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant is a critical factor of the caliber of the restaurant, and I have to say, Chido and Padres may very well be the best chips and salsa I’ve ever had a at a Mexican restaurant. I would come back for these alone - not to mention pairing them up with the guac (and even the queso). It was top notch all time good.

Google
I’m going to give grace since I actually came on cinco de mayo but I definitely expected better service. Lots of college students that huddled around gossiping with each other as opposed to serving the customer. Prime location in the Buckhead area and there was plenty of seating to accommodate larger parties. Food was average, not opposed to returning but I wouldn’t go out of my way to.

First time here and loved the experience, beautiful Amber behind the bar made it very special with fantastic margaritas, great recommendations and her amazing personality. Will be back and - friends for life!

Google
Just had a great meal here. Delicious fresh homemade authentic chips and salsa, guacamole and queso dips were first. Then I had the pineapple spicy margarita. It had just the right amount of sweet and spicy. Then the short rib tacos. So succulent and savory!! Great friendly service! I highly recommend.

Google
Not to bring any attention to but since you responded. I came in stood at the podium maybe a few mins def wasn’t a quick seating. The bar was filthy apparently there was a rush but I don’t believe that cause in that case the bar was filthy awhile cause I pulled up and didn’t see no party of folks outside but whatever then I get seated just to be told 86 on chips & salsa but 15 mins later a Caucasian couple got chips & salsa. Then I ordered corn tacos just to get flour then the bartender blames the kitchen! Just for me to get the receipt and see flour on the ticket! Smh

Google
Friendly and professional employees! Not a lot of guests on the day after Thanksgiving. Free chips and salsa! We ordered some items from the Happy Hour menu, they were all very delicious and well-plated, nice presentation! Entrees also did not disappoint us! We will for sure to revisit when we are in the area and craving Mexican food! This restaurant also looks like a great place to hold gathering party! 10/10 recommend everyone to check it out!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here on a whim because we were craving some Mexican food. Out of all the choices he gave me what drove me to come here were the sopes on the menu! I grew up eating homemade sopes from my aunt so I wanted to try their variation! The service was amazing! Our server Amber was very attentive to us and really took care of us, giving us great recommendations and making sure our food came out quick! The ambiance of the restaurant was very intimate with low lighting making it a very Romantic date with my boyfriend and just giving us the best experience! We ended up getting some chicken flautas, Mexican rice, Peachtree magarita, chorizo sopes, churros and tres leches cake! Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
The service was amazing, despite the drinks not being great. Tiffany was my server and she was extremely tentative. The outdoor patio is very relaxing and visually appealing. The food is typical for a tex-mex restaraunt. Surely not authentic, but it wasn't bad. There is a happy hour from 4-6 but the options are limited. I would not recommend the margaritas.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. This Mexican restaurant excels in margaritas, with expertly balanced flavors and fresh ingredients. Each margarita is a standout, whether you prefer classic or inventive variations. Perfect for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch margaritas in a lively setting. PRO TIP: Sit on the patio and order MANGO RICAS until you pass out.

Yelp
Katie was an exceptional server! She took the time to understand what I was in the mood for and made fantastic recommendations that I absolutely loved. Her knowledge of the menu and enthusiasm for the dishes made my dining experience memorable and enjoyable. I couldn't have asked for better service--thank you, Katie!

Yelp
Good Taste of everything, margs, tacos, chips and queso Bad Bones in my taco, it's great to bite down on a rock. Service was terrible. Told waitress about bone and she just repeated "that's weird". Well it is short rib but I'd expect food to be edible. We sat down and weren't helped for 20min. Also took about 30min to get a margarita...a margarita...at a Mexican restaurant. Also the server never cleared the table after our apps. So we just had a stack of 10 dirty plates at the end of our table for the entire dinner. Also, a water refill would have been nice. If the food (minus the bone) wasn't good this would have been an easy 1 star

Yelp
Met some friends for Sunday brunch here recently and enjoyed it quite a lot. Plenty of free parking, friendly service, and a super-casual modern atmosphere. Brunch choices are standard Mexican brunch dishes, I particularly enjoyed my Hueves Rancheros and my wife dug the breakfast tacos (soft flaky shell, fluffy eggs). The Rancheros had just the right amount of heat and spice. We also sampled the cocktails, they make a good Bloody Mary (Maria in my case, sub for tequila).

Yelp
Amber was an outstanding waitress during our visit! She was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made sure our drinks were always filled. Amber's warm demeanor and quick service enhanced our dining experience. We truly appreciated her attention to detail and will definitely request her on our next visit. Highly recommend!

Yelp
An extra star because the service was good. I ordered the fish tacos, which comes with a side of black beans and Mexican rice. Selected the corn tortillas. Chips and salsa are complimentary, chips are served warm. The salsa isn't really spicy at all but has some flavor. The fish in the tacos was a huge and dry, lacked spices and flavor. I ordered a side off lime for the fish, it helped dress it up a little more. The rice was mediocre and the beans was too saucy, very small portions. I also ordered their churros to go, it was quick and hot... but I didn't like the texture of them. The churros were too grainy and not very sweet. I like the vibe of the restaurant, relaxed and colorful. The server was very kind of attentive. You can pay by tap. Parking was easy, they have a free parking lot. There's lots of seating - if you have a big party I imagine it wouldn't be a problem. We happened to go on a Sunday, which has happy hour surprisingly. I didn't order anything from it. My friend ordered their chicken tacos so that's why I gave them the other star. Would I go back? Probably not.

Yelp
Trying to hit as many places in my coupon book before it expires. This place was in the book...but one entree get one free. It's a lovely spot. We sat outside and while the view is just a building their outside space is pretty. The service was good as well. We had a young guy who was very patient and helpful. I got the whole fish and my friend got the chicken fajitas. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. On the menu the fish says it's for two people. Definitely get an appetizer if you share. The fish was seasoned well. The chicken was was tender and juicy but could have used more seasoning. We went pretty early on a weeknight..Wednesday around 7? I made a reservation but really didn't need it. I would consider returning as I'm reading a lot of yelp reviews about their chips being really good. We didn't get any. It's so rare to get complementary chips these days I didn't ask. That would have been nice.

Yelp
After seeing the hype behind this place, my friend and I decided to stop by. I do recommend putting in a reservation beforehand since this place isn't that large and it does get packed easily! For starters, we went with chips and queso and their salsa. Their chips were quite unique and delicious and were very crunchy. The queso was also really good and did not make you feel heavy. For the main meal, I went with the spicy chicken tinga tacos which were really good. The chicken was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. They also topped the tacos with an avocado which I liked. The rice and beans on the side were also flavorful. I wasn't in the mood for drinks but they had a good selection. Our waitress was also super friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. There is also parking on site but limited. Overall, I'd love to come back and try some other items!

Yelp
My friends and I came here so I can finally experience happy hour having originally came from Boston. Drinks were $8 with about five different selections to pick from. There were also a handful of snacks based about chips and different dips. We tried their House Authority Marg and Ginger Watermelon which I thought was too sweet and not with very much alcohol. We had plans to go somewhere else later on so I wanted a smaller plate and something less likely for me to spill on myself. I opted for the pork carnitas quesadilla and made a special request for their homemade hot sauce which they luckily had! You can't really go wrong with a quesadilla and the pico de gallo and sour cream on the side were good additions. However, I did not find the hot sauce spicy and if anything it was slightly creamy. My friends seemed to be satisfied with their chicken flautas (also on happy hour) and fish tacos. Overall, I was not very impressed with the food or drinks. Staff were super friendly and attentive however. Not so sure if I would find myself here again as I'd be more interested in checking out other restaurants instead.

Yelp
Me and my wife came here on a Saturday for happy hour. We were pleasantly surprised that they offered such great deals even on the weekend. My wife got a glass of wine and I got a watermelon ginger margarita. Margarita was delicious. My wife said the glass of wine was pretty average. We were pleasantly surprised that how cute this restaurant was. Great place to come for dinner or drinks. Despite the reviews on here, we also greatly enjoyed the food. As I've said in my other reviews I'm a bit of a queso snob. This one was very good and had a good kick to it as well. Guacamole was delicious and had a little bit of a kick as well. Salsa was so good we got some to go. We got enchiladas for entree. We asked for cheese enchiladas and they were able to accommodate our request. The cheese enchiladas were very good and had a good blend of flavors with the red sauce and the crema. The corn offered a nice crunch and was a good change of pace. The only complaint we had on the food was that it came out cold. The server was very nice when we mentioned this but despite the temperature we still enjoyed our meal. Overall a solid place and would definitely come back

Yelp
This Mexican restaurant is located off West Paces Ferry in Buckhead, Atlanta, GA with a parking lot that is decently sized. All I can say is... finally a restaurant in Atlanta that doesn't charge for parking! Upon walking into the restaurant, the décor instantly grabs your attention and will make you want to take a million Instagram selfies. The menu has a lot of different food and cocktails options to choose from. I've heard such great things about this restaurant that I was very excited to give them a try. I was having a girl days out with my mom and we ordered the chips and queso to start off our dining experience. The queso and chips were a 10/10 the queso was seasoned perfectly and never got a stiff or gritty texture. I ordered the Al Pastor tacos and added on the Spicy Chicken Tinga taco with the corn tortillas for my meal. The entree comes with cilantro rice and black beans, which were very flavorful. The Spicy Chicken Tinga taco was delicious and I wish I had ordered more of these rather than the Al Pastor tacos. The Al Pastor tacos had no taste. The pork was overcooked and the flavoring with the pineapples, cilantro and onions did not pair well. I know it sounds like simple ingredients but if the pork wasn't so dry and I hate to say burnt, it could have tasted better but the Spicy Chicken Tinga taco was everything. The chicken was tender and very flavorful. If I had to rate each taco, I would give the Spicy Chicken Tinga tacos a 10/10 and the Al Pastor tacos a 2/10. My mom ordered the chicken quesadilla and she gave it a 10/10. The portion size of the quesadilla was so big my mom had to request a to go box. Lol. I have to say because the chicken was so flavorful it fills you up so if you can knock down the whole quesadilla, you're a champ! The quesadilla does not come with cilantro rice and black beans so if you are looking for some additional sides, you are going to have to order them separate from your meal . Now let's get into paying for your meal. I love the fact the table has a QR code on the table that makes it easy to pay for your bill so you don't have to chase down a waiter. You can split the bill amongst your guests and you can use Apple Pay. This option was so convenient. Overall, I had a great time dining at this restaurant and would highly recommend you all try it out. Enjoy the pictures of the inside and outside of the restaurant and food.

Yelp
Chido & Padre's is a must go place at least once if you're looking for a new spot to try. The ambiance is really incredible, they did a great job of capturing a really nice and fun feeling restaurant in the decor and entire vibe of the place. As soon as you walk in you can feel the ambiance and it definitely adds to the experience. The service was also really great throughout the meal. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive and that also helped the meal be more enjoyable. The food was also very good. We started off with some tasty queso with very good tortilla chips. I loved the Birria tacos however those with me had some enchiladas they thought were fine, and we were both disappointed in the rice. We also had the delicious Smoky Hibiscus drink which I have to recommend for any mezcal lovers. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is the value/portion size and the parking. While the food tasted good the portion sizes were a bit small considering the price. I'd love to come back during happy hour next time for some better value but we were just a little late. The parking was also very limited which can fill up quickly during busy dinner times. Overall this place is a really solid pick and I will likely be returning later for the happy hour

Yelp
AMBER !!! Is the best waitress ever. Love the food and the environment. 10/10 service and food.

Yelp
Came here a couple weeks ago for Cinco de Mayo and they opened at 2pm (earlier than normal hours) for the holiday . My reservation was for 2pm. When we arrived at 1:45, the staff was still setting up and there were about 3 other parties who'd arrived early as well that were waiting to be seated before us. I think they were doing their best to hurry and get us all situated. Firstly, I love this place's vibe. The decor and seating are so cute. I'd only been here once before, so I was excited to come back. Secondly, and sadly, our expectations weren't met for this visit. We finally get seated and waited for another 20 minutes before my date flagged someone down to notify them we hadn't been helped yet. "They're getting it together, it's a big service day for them I'm sure" is what I'm saying to myself. Our server tells us about the holiday specials where all margaritas are half off and other food items featured. We place our order. Two watermelon ginger margaritas and queso with chicken added (we wanted beef but they didn't have it). Our server comes back and tells us that unfortunately the margaritas are not half price and there are no specials for Cinco de Mayo. When they brought out the queso, they gave us unseasoned cooked chicken on a plate I guess for us to cut up and put into the queso ourselves. That was it for us, so we paid our bill and went to a different restaurant. This was a bust for the occasion, but I wouldn't write them off for future visits. Just not for what we came for.

Yelp
Chido & Padre's is a good place for a meal and drinks. The prices are a bit higher than other Mexican restaurants, but the ambiance and vibe is very welcoming and creates an overall good vibe. The service here is also pretty stellar. Chido & Padre's offers a good happy hour, as well. All in all, this is a good destination.
google avatar

Imani S.

Yelp
The vibe was really nice and loved the colors used in the restaurant z the blood orange Margot's and pork empanadas were supplied by Yelp Elite. So thank you!!! I think the marg was almost too spicy as and believe it had mescal for extra smokiness but was strong so that's always good! I was expecting more meat flavor from the empanada, this one was more of a cheese pocket which was cool but no seasoning, I definitely think that if it was served with some type of verde salsa and a bit more seasoning, it would be chefs kiss. But the server was very nice as well as the hostess. So in the future, I will give this place another go and explore more menu items.

Yelp
Went for Cinco de Mayo and had a great time. The decorations are fun and floral. Had a house margarita which was really great and I have the chicken quesadilla which was a little different but the taste was great. We also ordered the shrimp fajitas which were amazing and they had a DJ was a cool vibe of techno. I wish it was just different but other than that, I'd give it a 10 also it has shaded outdoor seating if you want to sit outside. We also had a nice server that was really nice attentive

Yelp
Updated review. Decided to give this restaurant another shot since it's been a while and this time was a much better experience! Sat at the bar and ordered the Blistered Shishito Peppers, Birria Tacos, and Smoked Chicken Street Tacos to eat. To drink, I had the House Authority, Ginger Mango, and Blood Orange 3 Chili Spicy margaritas. The food was really good, especially the Birria Tacos with yummy lamb meat within! The margaritas were tasty and fresh though the Ginger Mango was a tad sweeter than I would have preferred. Minus one star because even though the dining area was empty when I arrived some of the bar seats were dirty and needed to be wiped down. Once I brought it to the bartenders attention he did wipe the seats down for me and I was able to sit. Overall, a good experience so I will be back!

Yelp
My boyfriend & I went to Chido & Padre's today for an early dinner and had a really great experience. All the staff members were very friendly and attentive. The interior decor reminded me of what I would see in a Casa Blana movie scene and the music gave me mexican runway vibes. We ordered a few things off the menu and here is my review for each item: -Blood Orange & Chili Spicy Margarita: If you like spicy, then this is the drink for you. Each sip gave a very intense spicy feel to it that it literally burned your throat. Personally not my favorite when it comes to margaritas but it wasn't awful. It's definitely very unique. -Chips & Salsa: Right after ordering my drinks, the waiter brought out complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was nothing out of the ordinary but tasted very fresh. The chips on the other hand were amazing. The chips were made in house, nice, warm, and cripsy. -Guacamole & Chip: For $10, I personally I wouldn't order it again. It was nothing special. Slightly bland and no ingredients added; just avocado and a slight bit of lime, topped with cilantro. -Al Pastor Taco: For $16, The al pastor taco entree came with 2 small tacos (choice of corn or flour, which I ordered one of each) with a side of beans and cilantro lime rice. The meat itself was perfectly seasoned and you can taste the favors really nicely. The rice itself was very bland, needs more salt and spices. I personally wouldn't come back as I felt the price point was a bit too high for the quantity and quality of the meal.

Yelp
I came here for brunch with my sisters on a Saturday. We didn't have a wait at all. Our server was very nice and helpful with dish suggestions. I ordered the quesabirra tacos and they were amazing. Everyone in my party loved their dish too. I would love to come back and eat here again.

Yelp
We love walking to Chido & Padre's. Great traditional, yet upscale Mexican. The staff is very welcoming and helpful and the food is always spot on. Drinks were great as well. We love coming for happy hour deals from 4-7 PM. We had Alexis as our server she was great and had a great time.

Yelp
Excellent service from our server Todd. 10/10. Everyone was attentive and very on top of things. Very chill and relaxed setting, perfect for happy hour. All of our food and drinks were great!

Yelp
It's ok. We made a reservation for last night to celebrate a bday. It was pouring but still made it. We got a pretty terrible booth right at the entrance, which was odd bc the place was not full. The hostess looked pretty annoyed and didn't even greet some of our party. The waiter or the bus boy barely let us finish our food bc he was too busy asking us to clear the table for him through out our meal - as we were still eating. He could not wait to get us out of there! Margaritas were too sweet, tacos al Pastor were dry and not really marinated as tacos al pastor. The short rib appetizer and enchiladas Rojas were the best choice but not phenomenal. We won't be going back, the staff were a kill joy and the food was not quite right. The tres leches tasted like a moist white cake not a tres leches. Not one mention of a bday. It was ok

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night and it was still happy hour time! Now... be aware that some items are mentioned on their HH, but it's the same price on the regular menu. Our drinks were small for a Mexican restaurant, but they were good. We all got two, as the first ones went fast lol I did not care for the cheese dip itself which was soupy and the bowl was halfway empty from the jump. The flautas to me were the best part of the experience. I had the pork cheek quesadilla and it was not memorable. Service was also lacking. I had to ask for a refill on my water each time my cup was low. I just think for a pricey Mexican spot it could be a lot better.
google avatar

RC S.

Yelp
Outrageous. Party of 5 celebrating a birthday. We were sat in the bar area. We ordered appetizers and dinner. Service was horrible. We never got refills of water. NEVER saw the waitress after she took our food order. NEVER saw a manager or anyone after we received our food. The two "STEAK" Fajitas were literally vegetarian dishes with 3 or 4 small bits of meat (see photos). Our table was never cleared. 40 minutes after we finished eating, I had to flag someone down to get water and then again flag someone down to get our check. Just ridiculous.

Yelp
Went to Chidos & Padres for a weekday date night. We were seated immediately which was nice especially considering we did not have a reservation. I was amazed by the beautiful decor all throughout the restaurant. Our server was great and attentive providing great service the entire time we were there. I ordered the Watermelon Mint Margarita which was good but pretty sweet and I did not get much of a ginger flavor. To start I ordered the queso which was pretty standard but delicious. For my meal I ordered the Lamb Birria tacos which came with consomé and cilantro lime rice. My boyfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas. Both meals were really flavorful and left me completely satisfied. The portion sizes were perfect and I have no complaints. My tip is to pour some of the consommé on to the rice *chefs kiss. I will definitely be a frequent visitor of Chidos!
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of parking. Great happy hour option. Quick and pleasant service. The Birria tacos were good and the drinks even better! And definitely order the guacamole! No complaints here. Great outdoor patio for good friends and good food. Enjoy!

Yelp
The good: this place is absolutely adorable. Decor and ambience are spot-on. The food is also delicious and the portions are large. I got the chilaquiles and would gladly order them again. One of my dining companions got the steak and eggs and also liked it a lot. The bad: service was unbelievably slow. It took a full hour from us ordering to get our first round of drinks and entrees. The restaurant was not busy at all (maybe 2-3 other tables) so it's not like we were there at peak time. I should also mention that the menu is not very accurate--for example, the chilaquiles include chicken, but that's not listed on the menu. This could use some updating and more attention to detail. The ugly: we were at the restaurant to celebrate someone's birthday. After we finished our meal and our table was cleared, we asked the waitress to take a picture of our group outside. She told the birthday celebrant: "Oh, it's your birthday? You didn't get your tres leches cake!" so we went back inside to our cleared-off table for dessert. She came back to say they were out of cake, but she would bring us churros. Out come two orders of churros--which she then charged us for. We were under the impression she was offering them, like most restaurants that give a complimentary birthday dessert, so we were confused to see a bill. When we asked the waitress for more details and then asked for the manager, the waitress came back and said there was nothing they could do and gave the birthday girl a coupon for $10 off her next visit. The manager never even came out to talk to us or address the issue. I was amazed, and the whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. Not good customer service at all.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with great food and service. Chido & Padre's is huge, perfect for seating larger groups! Their food is pretty great. I came for brunch and had the Chilaquiles which were topped with scrambled eggs and chicken tinga. I also ordered a size of cilantro rice and black beans and a watermelon agua fresca mimosa to drink. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with tropical flowers and plants - you almost feel as though you've been transported out of Atlanta. There is also supposedly a speakeasy connected to the restaurant, so be sure to check that out if you come during dinner!

Yelp
Heard a lot about this place, so I decided to try their brunch. Honestly, it was just standard. I would like to go back for dinner, so I'll update my review once I revisit. I had the guacamole, which I loved that they top it with Tajin, but wished it was throughout the guacamole. Shrimp tacos were standard.

Yelp
Went here for Cinco de Mayo. The vibe was cool, and I loved the decor. Would love to come back on a nicer day to sit on the patio. Food was pretty tasty! The watermelon margarita was very good, but the cup was pretty small.

Yelp
Food rips. Great bar. Zero dummies. The proximity to undercover nightlife is amazing.

Yelp
I chose to came here for my birthday brunch because I had a good experience previous times and was so deeply disappointed. While our server Kiera was super nice and sweet, served was very slow. It took probably about 30-40 minutes to just get our drinks. It was 9 of us. I got Chilaquiles because I really enjoyed them last time. And they were nothing like before. The tortilla chips weren't soaked long enough and there wasn't enough sauce on them. Food was really bland. I had to ask for extra sauce and hot sauce. Other foods didn't look that great either. Not sure if they got a new chef or if they were just in a rush. As we were wrapping up she asked if I'd want a birthday cake tres leches. She made it seem like it was complimentary, because we were about to leave. So we said ok we will take it. So we all sat down. Then she comes back saying we are out of tres leches but if we want churros. We agreed. She brought chirps but then we were charged for them. My friend clarified with our server and the server said she'll ask her manager. Manager just gave me a $10 off card. He could've came to us and apologized for inconvenience or misunderstanding. The way he handled it was very unprofessional. That's not how you handle the business In the future if you are offering someone a birthday treat please make sure you clarify that it's not complimentary. That's is very deceiving, especially that we were about to head out.

Yelp
Just went here for dinner tonight and loved it! Excellent vegetarian options! I'm not sure why this isn't rated more highly, as the ambiance and the food were both good. Also some unique items like the carrot mole for the enchilada. We started with guacamole, which was fine. The chiles on top gave this a good kick, and props for including the harder chips that make it easy to dip in the guac. Plus, the few grapes that topped this dish provided a pleasant, juicy surprise that cut through the herby, creamy guac. We got the butterbeans and farro side which was oozing in flavor- so much so that I asked the waiter again if this was vegetarian and they went back, double checked and said that it was. I feel this is a side that has so many bold flavors and filling enough that it's good for splitting. The house salad unlike some other house salads that I have had, was made interesting with colorful turnips, avocados and cilantro ranch dressing. Finally the enchiladas were unlike enchiladas I've tasted before. They weren't just smothered and completely in sauce, soggy and filled like a burrito. The presentation and the flavors were excellent! Filled with zucchini. I've been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Atlanta with good vegetarian options, and I'm so glad I've finally found one.

Yelp
Poor Service but good Fajitas The odd service started before even sitting down. The hostess walked away not telling us to follow or wait. We did know if she was taking us to a table or looking for one, so we followed her around the restaurant to finally sit near the front of the restaurant? The waitress came after a few minutes, we ordered Steak and Chicken Fajitas, Ceviche and a beer. She brought us chips and salsa. Good so far, but then we did not see her again for about 15 minutes. We had a flag down another server for silverware and napkins who brought us plastic ware for to go orders which we rejected. The Fajitas (from a runner, no waitress) arrived which looked good, but no way to eat them: No tortillas, no rice and beans, no fajita side dish? Then another waitress (ours is stilll MIA) brought us a plate with knife, fork and small napkins?. Other tables had setups (cloth napkin with knife and fork). They then brought us those white tri-fold napkins from a bathroom dispenser (see photo)? And our Ceviche (the starter) and beer still had not arrived. The waitress finally showed up. We ask for all the missing items: Ceviche, Cloth napkin, beer, rice and beans, tortillas, more salsa, fajitas sides which began arriving. The Ceviche was less than average although the ingredients looked fresh, just not good flavor. The Fajitas were very good, but had become cold. The atmosphere was lively, so I can see why people may like this restaurant, but this was the worst service that I have had in over a decade. I do not know a strong reason to return.

Yelp
It may be National Margarita Day at Chido & Padres, but to get a 1 oz sample cup of tequila, you have to order an entree AND prove it by showing your meal ticket, even though I'm sitting at a table and about to order. Mr. Chido and Mr. Padres sure have a way of throwing a wet blanket on such a celebratory day. Which brings me to my next point: service took forever, and our tables were sticky. By the time I got my entree, it was already nearly two hours since I've been there and the night was winding down, why would I need a sample tequila shot now? I've already had two drinks (which themselves took forever to get). The understaffing here was obvious. Which brings me to my final point: Southern Proper Hospitality Group, the owner of this and other high-cost yet mediocre quality restaurants in the city (Tin Lizzy's being the worst offender), seem to be interested in only one thing: your money. And as today was evident, it felt like they were putting profit over experience. So much for National Margarita Day, SPHG. Like seriously, who asks for a ticket stub to prove you ordered an entree? What am I, 5 years old? Yep, I came all the way here to scam you out of your sample cups of mid-grade tequila. You got me.

Yelp
Really friendly service and good food here. The drinks are everything!!!! I enjoyed both margs I had. The drinks are not too sugary and taste Uber fresh! I ordered the birria tacos and they are lamb. They were tasty but could use a little salt or heat or both. I would definitely return.

Yelp
We've been spoiled by so many Mexican places that offer free chips and salsa that we've become miffed at the thought of ordering them. But we begrudgingly agreed - these were excellent. The chips arrived warm and freshly salted, with a roasted salsa rojo and a salsa verde (we far preferred the red salsa and wished there were a bigger bowl of it). James enjoyed his enchiladas, with smoked chicken, carrot mole, queso oaxaca, and quest requeson. As a non-meat eater, I curiously dipped my fork dipped into the pool of sauce at the bottom of his place. I was instantly rewarded with a rich and slightly spicy flavor. But at the price, neither of us were impressed with the serving size. When we flagged our server to order some rice- and bean-like accoutrement on the side, she replied apologetically, "We don't have side dishes here." Yelp
Pretty Nasty The pictures were better than the food. We tried most of the menu and to be honest I was not impressed. Loved the Chicken Tinga. Go for drinks.

Yelp
This place is beautiful on the inside. Love the ambiance. Made reservations for brunch on Sunday. When we arrived, we were greeted and sat quickly. Started with the guacamole and queso fundido. Both were delicious, but I absolutely love the queso fundido. We also ordered the chilaquiles and brisket hash. The brisket hash has a special place in my heart. Our services was excellent and the drinks were really good. I'm looking forward to my next visit here.

Yelp
This place is a cool throwback to the old Buckhead. Great deck, open doors and windows on nice days. Two bars to hang out. Service is spot on, warm and engaging and genuine. And most of all . . . The food was fantastic. Outstanding, solid, rib-sticking non-TexMex Mexican food. Go hungry, and prepare to waddle out. I shall return.

Yelp
Queso, short rib tacos, pork shoulder...all 5/5. Great location and venue. Service has also always been fantastic except a weird bartender that I don't think is there anymore

Yelp
Came here for their Cinco de Mayo night with some friends. We had a reservation for 845pm (they had extended hours until 11pm today) and got seated after a few minutes. Very crowded today so it took over 20 minutes before our waitress showed up and took our orders. Food did come out fairly quickly though. I got the Herby Guacamole, the House margarita, and the pork tacos. The guac was pretty standard, though the jalapeños were a nice touch of spice. They only gave like 8 chips with it though which was weird so we had to ask for more. The House marg was pretty strong but also pretty good. Very heavy on the tequila to make your money worthwhile LOL. The pork tacos were alright. Comes with a small side of queso and some yummy radish! Overall - it was ... alright. I probably wouldn't come back here for food. Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. The service was very friendly but probably because it was a holiday it was just incredibly slow. It's also VERY loud in here. The food is just alright but the drinks are strong. Could be cute to come and get some drinks (if you have a reservation) but honestly nothing that special here.

Yelp
Chido and Padres was recommended by my friends in Atlanta and it was such a wonderful brunch spot. Outdoor seating was unavailable since they were short staffed and the wait times for drinks and food were high but the quality and taste more than made up for the wait. We got a table full of drinks and food that included a few different margs, tacos, enchiladas, oysters and fundido. Everything was tasty and fresh and can't wait to go back in the summer.

Yelp
We came here on our way to the blind pig parlour bar since they're attached This place is so cute! Loved the unique decor with 3d pieces incorporated throughout like the flower on Frida kahlo. They had some cute bigger tables but most of the small tables were plain The food was delicious! We got queso & barbacoa, esquites, carnitas & birria tacos. Those birria tacos give birria El Gordo a run for their money! They were soo good! The carnitas was crunchy outside, tender inside & all flavor. Esquites were creamy, citrusy & a kick of spice. Must try! We also got a couple drinks.. mine was the agua fuerte and it slapped me. Like imagine a refreshing cucumber juice but then dump in half a bottle of vodka. It was powerful! All this was $99 with tax. The parking lot isn't big so come a little early so you can find a spot. Saw a mix of people dressed up like for a club or night out & also casual diners.

Yelp
came here for cinco de mayo and had a reservation. It didn't take too long to get seated because of that but it did take nearly 30 min for a server to come to our table and bring us water. They were super busy, but it definitely should not have taken 30 minutes to stop by our table. the food came out pretty quick, and tasted good. I wouldn't say it was hugely special or unique but I enjoyed my queso and chips. The chips did feel freshly made and tasty. The place is very loud and you do need to scream to hear each other. Overall I wouldn't come back here. It didn't leave much of an impression.

Yelp
It's a shame. The food is really good. However, on every delivery order they always forgot items. When I called to have them fix the issue they blamed the delivery service even though the restaurant is not giving all the food to the driver. Spoke with two "managers" who wanted to pass blame to the delivery service even though it's consistently the restaurants fault. Got enough attitude from the manager I won't be ordering from here again.
