Laid-back restaurant serving up Korean fried chicken and draft beer, plus sides, and cocktails.
"The neon signs at this busy fried chicken pocha can be a bit cryptic (the biggest one reads, “youth does not come back”), but like most Korean pubs, the dark, spacious booths at Chimac Star are fun to gather in with friends to split baskets of ginormous fried wings and pour soju and beer. The chicken menu includes out-there flavors you won’t find elsewhere—mayo pickle?—but our favorites are more familiar, like the Legend, doused in a sweet gochujang glaze and the powder-coated Snow Honey Butter, which inevitably sprinkles cheese dust all over the table. The fried rice cakes tucked into each basket are a nice touch, but we wish there were more than two pieces so we didn’t have to fight over them. Keep the peace by ordering more of them a la carte." - Cathy Park
"Chimaek, a Korean portmanteau of chicken and beer that refers to the establishments that serve fried chicken and beer, are as common as convenience stores in South Korea, and ChiMac Star faithfully brings the chimaek experience stateside. With neon lighting and a gastro-pub like ambiance, the restaurant’s not afraid to serve stir-fried chicken gizzards and soojaebi bundaegi, or silkworm larva stew, alongside its stellar fried chicken options." - Euno Lee
