Absolutely fantastic flavors. Very crunchy and juicy chicken. Seafood pancake was excellent and was very large. Highly recommend this place for a nice chill dinner. It’s a bit of an older style place for younger people to hang out it seems. But great service and great food.

This is the only fried chicken place I frequent the most and recommend to everyone looking to try Korean fried chicken spot! All the items have such great flavors, with the chicken fried to a satisfying crunch! I’ve ordered to go and they do not the disappoint either! The order is always ready on time and freshly made!!! My favorite are the snow honey butter fried chicken, loaded fries with bulgogi or kimchi and the tuna mayo rice balls!

Wonder why this place is usually empty. Generally, I find it pretty nice, the atmosphere, the decorations, the food is OK. Perhaps it is because of the location? Or the prices? It's a bit overpriced, but not too far from other korean restaurants that close late. There iqs another Korean restaurant not too far that got pretty busy lately as they started promoting through social media, with influencers, so perhaps that's what it needs. Also, it needs to serve korean Soju cocktails, not just soju, where one can simply buy it cheaper at the liquor store

Great spot for some KFC (Korean fried chicken). Inside is cool. Plenty of seating with booths and tables. Cool neon signs. The chicken is delicious. Sides are pretty good too. They serve beer and soju. Service is good. Friendly staff. There's street meter parking or a small lot beneath the shopping center. FYI they charge for to-go containers.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t receive as much love as other K-town KFC spots. I think it’s some of the juiciest, biggest portions I’ve had. 양념 is spot on. They have so much seating space. PLUS, they have a parking garage. Maybe cause it’s a little on the border of K-town? In any case, give this place a shot!!

This was probably the best Korean Fried Chicken I've ever tasted! It was so juicy and tender, the flavor was amazing and the Rice cakes?! Oof! I love it! There was a very kind lady who was working there too who usually checked up on us and others who were around (hardly any people, it was just us and two other groups I believe) but she was sweet and she'd come rather quick when we called for customer service, anyways, I will definitely come back here.

If you guys are big party, i would definitely recommend this place, they have lots of big and huge table for big groups! All the food were delicious and amazing

Came for some Korean Fried Chicken, left extremely disappointed. I paid for an 8 piece bone in. Usually in the US, that means legs and wings. This place literally wrapped up random pieces of chicken bone with some meat on it, deep fried it, and handed it to me. Believe it or not, those counted towards my 8 pieces. The restaurant also has that "old building" smell, which isn't great.

I'm utterly disappointed because I've been wanting to try Chimac Star for the longest time and when I finally got to try it (to-go order), my experience left me wishing I just never tried. First, we ordered to-go. Based on their menu in the store, their to-go prices are all either $1 or $2 more expensive. They didn't tell us about this when we ordered. While I did see a sign about to go containers and boxes, but that was for dining in only. So, an up charge of $1 to $2 for EACH item is uncalled for, especially when there was a $2 up charge for the beer, which doesn't come with its own "to-go" coozie or container. It's a very liberal usage and additive of additional fees and not told to us ahead of time. The chicken didn't come with pickled radish. Usually, all Korean fried chicken does, but Chimac doesn't? Or do they not for to-go orders? Peculiar. Lastly, their chicken were incredibly dry and the pieces were quite small. The spicy sweet glaze was actually pretty tasty. I believe that a "S" is just a cut up half chicken and a "L" is actually a cut up whole chicken. I won't and visit this place again. With so many fried chicken places around K Town that doesn't charge extra "hidden" fees for take out, I just can't.

Hidden KFC gem! I went here with a friend and got their small (8 pieces) honey soy garlic and snow honey butter wings. Loved the ambiance of this place, good for late night especially since they open late. Wings were flavorful and crispy, service was fast as well. Would come back again! Ok...so I liked this spot a lot but they just introduced some bulgogi corn cheese fries to the menu since I've been back. MUST TRY. The bone-in chicken was a little less great. Just kind of dainty pieces and some were actually chicken breast with just a little bit of bone rather than a whole chicken thigh.

Last time I was at chimac star was before Covid and wow to see the upgrade/renovation was amazing to see in person! It's a night life vibe without the night life lol. The musics isn't loud and when I went there was a mix of young and older crowd. It seems like they are under staffed as one guy was hosting all 4-5 tables. He was very sweet and helpful! The chicken flavors here are super amazing! I love that it comes with fried rice cake! Vegan options available! Loved the fries and crispy tofu! Definitely pair it with some Korean beer for that chimac experience! Definitely will be back when I crave Korean fried chicken and beer :)

I liked it. Good spot for some KFC (Korean fried chicken). Inside is kinda dark but looks pretty cool with all the neon signs. Decent amount of booth tables so it's good for groups. We got the spicy rice cake with cheese. Pretty good with only a mild spice. The wings are delicious. We got the soy honey garlic. Loved it. My friend wanted to try the pickle mayo. It's an interesting flavor. It didn't sound good to me but it somehow works. It's worth a try. Couldn't have KFC without some beer and soju. Service was good. Nice and friendly staff. Easy parking in the small lot beneath the building. Or you'll have to find meter parking. FYI they charge 50 cents per to-go box. First time I've seen that before.

In the star-studded cast of great Korean restaurants that is KTown, Chimac Star shines brightly as the Big Dipper in a constellation of fantastic offerings. The service is great. The whole restaurant has a dungeon-but-also-tavern-like layout that gives it a nice vibe, and the neon signs sprinkled throughout help build the ambiance even further. Their options for fried chicken is great: going from the heretic boneless wings, to the traditional bone-in, and there's even a wings option (I thought that would just be the bone-in one? But apparently not). Their sides are great too, and there's even buttons on the columns of the restaurant that you can use to call your server. I pressed mine by mistake once but they were super cool and friendly about it. Will definitely be back. P.S.: There is a free parking structure for Chimac Star on the corner of S. New Hampshire Ave and W 8th Street. I attached some pictures to help you locate it.

Everything was delicious! Their kimchi fried rice definitely had a kick to it, which pairs well with the honey soy garlic that is on the sweeter side. Ambience: Really interesting and club like because there are rock artists painted on the walls, neon light signs and LEDs, and I also saw a life size cut out of Jennie. Service: Pretty quick turnaround for our piping hot food. Parking is easy since they have an underground lot.

Ambiance: Really really loved the ambiance. I would definitely come here if you're really drunk and want some place to hang out with a crowd. Plenty of parking on a weeknight and it was pretty empty except for a couple of tables. Service: The first guy helping us was really awesome and seemed on top of everything. I think he may have been training someone because because we ended up having man #2 for the rest of the night. Our server (#2) proceeded to take our order (he ended up needing to bring in the server #1 to help explain the topping of one of the wings). Server #1 recommended bone in for the fried chicken because he said the wings were on the smaller side, so we went with the bone in honey soy garlic option (keep this info for later). We also ordered the kimchi loaded fries with bulgogi (also keep this in mind for later). They told us to use the bell system to get their attention, but in case it wasn't working, to just wave one of them down. That seemed to be a warning because service ended up being super slow for the rest of our meal despite there only being 3-4 tables needing to be waited on. Food: We got our fries first and it didn't have the bulgogi add on like we had requested. That's fine, honestly, I think maybe there was probably a language barrier between us and server #2. The overall flavor of the fries was decent, I think their fries need to be crispier though especially with all that sauce over it and the fries being on the thicker side (not as thick as steak fries tho). Then, we got the chicken. I didn't think the bone in sizes were that impressive to be honest, and I think I would have preferred the wings if I knew the bone in option would be 80% white meat. Although the flavor itself was pretty good, I don't think it covers the dryness of the white meat. They chicken comes with two pieces of rice cake that seem to be pan fried, which was cool. TLDR: Probably wouldn't come here again. I appreciate the option of it being late night and having parking and having the nice neon vibes, but for the price of the food and given the rep of ktown having nice late night bars, I'd probably go somewhere else. Food is mid, especially with the potential it hypes itself up to be.

Post concert and searching for a late night meal, Chimac was the perfect find. Lots of yummy Korean food and drinking options with lively environment (lots of tables were filled when arriving and good music). My favorite was their tteokboki and ramen. I'd probably try their dry wings without the sauce because it was pretty salty imo. Otherwise great crunch on the chicken and fun vibes. Also free parking lot below the building which was super convenient!

good amount of chicken with a great selection. service was very attentive, but the flavor was all over the place in terms of taste. not all flavors are created equally here apparently. overall definitely worth a try. the loaded fries were a definite must try though

I wish I took pictures of my SOTTEOK SOTTEOK, snow honey wings and corn cheese before I ate it all, because I couldn't help it! Food comes out sizzling. Everything is insanely delicious. It's also perfect for big or small groups, couples, solo eating. I don't understand how it's empty every time I come. It's the best restaurant in Ktown, and that says A LOT. I wish I could eat here everyday for every meal. I've brought so much family here and they all become obsessed. Even the lemonade is banging. Try the peach! I can't wait to eat more on the menu.

I've been to many fried chicken places around in Ktown and this seems... subpar compared to other chicken shops around. Let's start with the food, there is no doubt it is good but it was not spectacular nor fixed my craving. We wanted to get the Kpop Spicy Mayo and it was a bummer they did not have it so we just got the Volcano flavor and the garlic soy. They were good actually. We also got the korean street corndogs and they were good as expected. Portions were small compared to other fried chicken places for around the same price. What made me not really enjoy this place is their service. The gap from our appetizer to the main course took too long. It made me kind of lost my appetite that's why the meal felt heavier. In addition, they charged us 50c for a to go box. 50c is nothing but it's weird to charge something for a to go box. The ambience was actually pretty dark but cool with the neon bright lights fixed around the restaurant. I wouldn't go back not because the food was not good but there are just some better options around.

There was parking underground that the place offers. The service on a Sunday at 9PM wasn't that bad. There were only a few other tables of folks. My boyfriend and I got the: Tornado honey fries, corn cheese, large sweet & spicy flavor. Truly, the food was good, late night hours, parking, and overall vibe was amazing. The food was great. I loved the tornado potato. Impressed and found a new spot to consider for late night spots. Spent $60 overall for the 3 items and it was good and reasonable.

my favorite korean fried chicken spot in ktown and lowkey i have been gatekeeping it. this place hits all the spots - food is amazing, price point is great, and free parking!! there is a garage below the plaza and it's never full. i'm not a huge fan of their remodel though - too many bright neon signs in a dark room. i miss the old posters on the walls. also fyi - make sure to check your receipt before paying. they charged me the wrong price for an item.

This was my first time at ChiMak - but why have I never heard of this place before?? The menu is amazing, and because I wasn't super hungry but craving korean fried chicken, we pulled up! Read in another review that there's a parking lot so we pulled into New Hampshire ave ! It's a Monday so it was pretty quiet- but better for us. Really fast, friendly service and chicken cronchy af!!! I already called the besties about this place so we'll def be back for the rice burgers and the combos they have! They also have really cute led lights all over the place that say really cute shit !!! Bathrooms are very clean and this is definitely gonna be the next hot spot in Ktown!! Can't wait to be back

Love this place! It still remains my favorite Korean Fried Chicken place after being introduced to it several years ago. I'm a fan of perfectly cooked fried chicken (has to be super crispy on the outside and tender/soft on the inside) and this place delivers on that! I also tend to like KFC that is not smothered in sauce and I've always been very pleased with the fried chicken here- just the right balance for my taste. The honey butter snow chicken is my absolute favorite. It's a dry fried chicken, crispy and moist with basically CRACK powder ("snow" they call it..) put on top that is just amazing. The rice cakes/tteokbokki is another staple that we love to order (when we've asked them to put ramen in it they were able to- they should just make it a part of their menu already). Parking is convenient, they have a lot underneath, and the service has always been friendly. The interior decoration has acquired more neon lights over the years, it's a great place to hang out with friends, enjoy the beer/soju and awesome chicken!

This place may have the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a restaurant and the KFC was out of this world! The Snow Honey fried chicken was insane, would highly recommend! Fun place to go for great chicken and beer with friends!

We were craving some crunchy chicken and this place was it! The chicken was super crispy and flavorful. There were even stir fried rice cakes with the chicken which was a nice surprise. At first with the name, I was not sure about the snow honey fries, but it was SO good. I would get this again for sure. The topokki was also perfect because it was flavorful, but not too spicy. The bulgogi corn cheese had a great ratio of corn and cheese! Service was friendly and on top of it. She just came by with more ketchup because she saw we were out! Everyone was super friendly the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. The vibe is very cool and feels like I was transported to a pub in Korea!! It's dark, but lively and fun with the decorations and music! The parking was so easy because they have an underground parking that you can access on S New Hampshire ave! Will definitely be back soon!

The food came out SO slow. It also felt more like a pub or a place to just drink, rather than order food. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. I think there are a lot better places for the price and taste around ktown for korean style chicken. One perk is that they do have a small lot with free parking.

The best potato twisties I've ever had! It was sweet, soft and chewy and I'm addicted! That was such a stand out dish that I actually don't even remember the other dishes I got here.

OK, I wish I would have taken photos but we pretty much devoured everything as it came out. The potato tornado spirals are insane. They're so crispy and what a display. You feel like you're at the fair with foods on a stick. The fried chicken was so delicious. Juicy, tender, crispy on the outside, and it was piping hot so be careful. I like to get original and sauce on the side (especially if I take them home for leftovers so they can be crisp without soggy, reheated.) All the sauces were really delicious. Will definitely come here again, a great place to entertain guests, though it does get loud, as it's a chicken/beer spot. The service was great!

Korean Fried Chicken is the best fried chicken there is out there, period! Nothing like some late night chicken & beer in the heart of K-Town. The ambience is like that of a dark Korean pub with soju signs & disco lights among the booth seating. I tried 3 types of chicken, carbonara & fries for a group of 9 and it was the perfect amount for us. You can order a whole order of chicken (16 pieces) or half an order (8 pieces). HONEY BUTTER KFC I'm a huge fan of Honey Butter chips so I tried the Honey Butter Chicken & I'm pleased to share that it tastes exactly like the chips but in chicken form!! Perfectly sweet, buttery & powdery breading with tender juicy chicken inside. HONEY GARKIC SOY KFC My go-to order is the Honey Garlic Soy chicken, which is a classic flavor that's both savory, sweet & garlicky in one. KOREAN PEPPER KFC The last flavor I tried was Korean Pepper, which basically tasted like gochujang (sweet & spicy pepper paste). The spice level definitely had a kick so I hope you love spice if you order this! K-STYLE CARBONARA If you're expecting this to taste like a classic Italian carbonara you'll be disappointed. There's no bacon & it's very very decadent and creamy. The flavor was just alright & it was just too creamy & heavy in my honest opinion.

The low blue lighting and beer glasses clinking upon entering was very bar-esque, which made me wonder if this was more of a hangout spot or if people actually came for good food. I'm happy to report that you can have the best of both worlds here! The soy garlic fried chicken was phenomenal. Very crispy and the soy garlic sauce was one of the best I've had, which says a lot considering I eat Korean fried chicken very often. The sauce was a little thinner than some other places but that okay because the table was lined with paper so you know it's meant to get messy! Another plus is that they have a button to call for service, so you get as much or as little attention as you want. The employees were very sweet and helpful in recommending food options too. I would definitely recommend this place to any of my family/friends! Can't wait to come back

Got some kbbq chicken to go but will defs visit and stay next time since this Korean pub looks fun with dim lighting and lots of seating area! My friend and I ordered the honey garlic chicken and snow flavor and the seasoning was amazing!!

One of my favorite Korean fried chicken spots in Koreatown! The service was attentive and friendly, and my friends and I received our meal relatively quick. We ordered the sweet and spicy and honey garlic soy chicken wings with mussel soup. The wings were delicious, flavorful, and fried perfectly. It was crunchy on the outside, but warm and tender on the inside. It even came with a bit of rice cakes! As for the mussel soup, it was a table favorite. It was the best palette cleanser for the fried food we were eating and the soup was super refreshing and tasteful as well. They also gave a good quantity of mussels. I enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back again. :)

Im praying to every god in existence that tik tok doesn't blow this spot up. They deserve it dont get me wrong but let me have something please. Food was so good, addictive actually Service was really nice, we waited a little long on the rice (fresh made btw) and got comped a spiral potato(also so good). The serving size was huge but made sense looking back. Ambiance is cool, they do karaoke nights. Only thing i cant get behind is the price on soju buttttt gas

This place brings me back to Korea. The ambience, setting, lighting, all reminds me of a Pocha place in Korea - which I absolutely love. The chicken were delicious especially the snow honey butter sauce. Addicting to say the least! We ordered two variations of k-chicken and were happy to the core. Another interesting add was the boneless spicy chicken feet (dakbal) extra spicy! It was not only spicy but flavorful type of spice. We finished that as well. Choices of beers and sojus were plentiful and the service was great. We will be coming back for sure!

I haven't found my favorite KFC spot until I came here! It's a nice place to go out with friends and the staff was very friendly! The food might take a little long to come out, but its piping hot and fresh when it does. The Snow Honey Butter Chicken was definitely my favorite!

Saw this place from one of the IG post and decided to try. We ordered the honey snow chicken, garlic soy, sweet and spicy chicken wings and honey butter fries. All were so good!!! The honey snow and garlic soy was my favorites! Will definitely come back for more of those honey butter fries!!

The portion here is terrible. I'm charged $34 for "16" tiny pieces of fried chicken. At least have the decency to mix it up with some big pieces. Two pieces together is smaller than a can soda. $34.00 for the small box of chicken and $8.00 for the fries. There's so many other options in Ktown, bye Chimac.

had a weird experience. i did takeout, paid, then waited around 15 mins for my order. once my food came out, they told me my payment didn't go thru and had to pay again. i showed them my card got charged and they said ok. i got weird vibes from it and wondered why they waited so long to ask me to pay again. food is good, just something to be aware of.

I picked this place to celebrate my fiance's birthday with a large group of friends and they were extremely accommodating. It was my first time here so of course I was nervous and hoped everything would be great and it was! I called in a week ahead for a Saturday night reservation and they easily put me down for it and on the day, we had a whole back wall area to ourselves. Everyone that worked there took part in helping me bring the secret cake out. One guy offered to throw a funny techno version of a happy birthday song while another guy walked with me to make sure the candle light wouldn't go out. Not only was their service exceptional, the food was also some of the best Korean fried chicken. It was the best time! Thank you Chimac for catering us so kindly!

Ordered the Fried Chicken and Garlic Parmesan Fries here. The fries had good flavor but the texture was not great. The chicken had great texture, but the sauce was underwhelming. Service is done through the press of a button, but pay upfront. The restaurant is a bit dark, but the neon light provide nice ambient lighting

Wow! Found this place by accident and the food here is bomb! I love Korean fried chicken but there are some restaurants only sell wings not whole chicken. Check out some pictures below (Volcano chicken and Honey Soy Garlic bone in). Will be back.

This is a good place to go for really tasty chicken and beer with a bigger group. It had more of a bar vibe which I wasn't expecting, so super loud & casual environment. Chicken was 9/10! I only got to try the Snow Chicken and the Spicy Cheese. The spicy cheese one didn't come with much chicken and i wish it was a lot spicier bc it didn't have any kick to it. But still realllly good and filling. I ordered a 10 pc boneless and an additional dish for two and had leftovers. Parking was easy too!

The honey garlic soy sauce is good, but the spicy rice cake is FREAKIN FIRE. If yupdduk is too spicy for you, Chimac Star got your back, while providing some bomb chicken. The workers are so friendly and the service is 10/10! The chicken is crunchy, sweet & savory and portions were huge. The fries are crispy too. The rice cake was not too spicy and the cheese made it heavenly ~ I wish there were more rice cakes than the fish cakes, so next time we'll have to request that. Portions are huge and we had leftovers so the price was very worth it. Also free parking at the structure right next to it!

The honey garlic fried chicken is extremely scrumptious! However they do not serve free radish like other fried chicken restaurants. You can order it separately at around 2 bucks. The place has a chill atmosphere, and the waitress is very nice. Will definitely come back.

Amazing food all around, the kimchee fried rice was delicious with a nice kick to it. The cheese corn balanced it with a cheesy sweet flavor and the fried chicken was fantastic. Very nice ambiance as well with good music and excellent service. The staff made me feel so welcome. Will definitely come again!

I live across the street from Chimac Star and decided to get fried chicken for dinner. Ordered 8 pcs wings honey soy garlic and 8 pcs snow (honey butter) chicken with extra rice cakes. The bill came to around $50. Price is a bit steep for fried chicken but the wings were plump! I didn't taste much garlic and I got tired of the sauce after a couple wings but the snow chicken was amazing! The chicken was moist and full of flavor. Wish they put the extra rice cakes in the chicken instead of on the side so it'd be more flavorful. Next time I'll be sure to ask. Would recommend if you're in the mood for Korean fried chicken. They have parking at the side of the building on New Hampshire.

This place has gone down hill. After getting disappointed about 6 months ago, we gave it another shot hoping they got their s*** straight. They got even more stingy with portions and chicken was soggy and tasted like a**. Hit up twozone. It's 10 times better for the price you are paying. No reason to ever order from here. So many better options around town.

Went here for my birthday and the waiters were so sweet! The vibes of the interior are rly fun and definitely more of a bar/club aesthetic. We ordered the combo with beer, tornado fries, and the original fried chicken. We got to choose two sauces so we picked honey soy garlic and sweet and spicy. The spicy one was too spicy for me but if spice is your thing it does taste pretty good. The tornado fries was covered in a sort of powdered cheese seasoning that also goes really well with the fried chicken! The fried chicken came with a few tteokbokki rice cakes that were so nice and chewy too. Would bring any of my friends here for sure!! Fried Chicken: 9/10 Tornado Fries: 8/10

The food here is great and the service is even better! It isn't too loud and the vibe is very chill and I don't think there is anything more to ask for. My personal favorite was the toast and I would come back just for that any time and any day!

I stumbled upon Chimay Star!! Couldn't be happier that I found this place. The food is absolutely amazing here. The service is warm and friendly so making the dining experience even better. The chef's expertise in Korean cuisine is evident in every dish i ordered. A GEM OF A FIND!
