China Tang

"This handsome restaurant was conceived and designed by the late Sir David Tang as a sister to the London branch, and mixes traditional Chinese art with contemporary Western design. Tables are set closely together and there are several private rooms. Dishes from Beijing, Sichuan and Canton feature and dim sum is popular. The chef has introduced a more modern element to the menu." - Michelin Inspector

"China Tang is inarguably one of our favorite restaurants in London—in fact, it’s one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in the world. Sir David Tang (also of Tang Tang Tang Tang) recently introduced the enterprise to Hong Kong, and even in a sea of delectable Asian fare, it still stands out."

Google
Higher end dimsum dishes. Food is pretty good in terms of quality and flavor. Main issue I experienced with my party was the restaurant environment. The air conditioning wasn’t on very high and everyone was sweating in their seats. Even after we spoke to the staff, they barely increased the AC.

Google
One of a kind food experience! I have never tasted before the unique texture or flavour that they served. Ordered their set menu to taste more variety of their cuisine. Note that their menu prices are exorbitant!

A gorgeous experience. I enjoyed the set lunch very much. I liked the red bean dessert with little pearls. It is expensive, however.

Very beautiful dim sum restaurant in central. Dim sums were very delicately made, particularly like the carrot cake. Soy sauce chicken was good too. Chicken was very tender.

Google
WOW experience! For those who say this is expensive, please do have the correct expectation as their menu (with prices) are listed, you get what you pay for. Friend and I wanted luxury Chinese dining experience and we got it. From the restaurant setting, to the spacing of tables, to food, to staff... It's all worth it. Our server, Thomas, is top notch who shares his experience with us and really relates with his guests. He got us some food samplings on those we couldn't try on our menu to gave the customers the right experience. Each dish was prepared with intention and attention. A really great Chinese fine dining experience. Will definitely come back for more!

Google
Very nice Cantonese dim sum restaurant! Excellent service with relax and quite atmosphere. The spring roll and fried rice is good with surprising taste and appearance. Other dim sum are also great and authentic. You can enjoy free valet parking if spending over $500!

Google
Wonderful restaurant in the Landmark in Central. In fact, one of my favorites in the city! Highly recommended: the signature honey roasted barbecued pork. And don’t leave without trying one of the classic Cantonese desserts.

Google
The dim sum here is very good. Top quality food great experience. The interior design is so beautiful, very traditional old Hong Kong style high end restaurant. Service is top class.

Yelp
Sat in a semi-private dining room - very elegant room. We weren't that hungry and ordered a few dishes - vegetarian hot and sour soup; cauliflower with cumin; chicken breast with peanuts and chiles; bbq pork . The best was the bbq pork- so tender and flavorful. Service was good in the beginning, but they were very slow to remove the plates. After we finished dining, we waited 25 minutes before they cleared the plates and gave us the dessert menu. Service - fast in the beginning and

Yelp
Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately struck by the decor and styling of the restaurant. You kind of feel like your stepping back in time to old Hong Kong and the outfits of the staff match the decor very well. Service here is very good and this is a great place to go for a date night or to take people from out of town. The food is also quite good and there is a good mix of creative takes on dishes and classic presentations. Food: 4 stars Environment/service: 4.5 stars Value: 3.75 stars Overall: 4 stars Recommendations: typhoon shelter shrimp, crab xiao long bao, char siu pastry On my visit I had the Peking duck which I found fine but wasn't particularly impressed by. The skin didn't have the crispness I was hoping for. The typhoon shelter crab is very good. I loved all the fried garlic and the hint of heat from the chili's. The shrimps were luscious and had the nice snap you get from fresh seafood. I also enjoyed the dim sum here with the crab Xiao long bao and the char siu apple puff the real stand outs for me.

Yelp
Being born and raised in Hong Kong, I never thought I would have ordered the Peking Duck here as this dish, to me is so touristy; but I didn't regretted a bit for having one recently at China Tang. The duck needs to be pre-ordered for at least a day (or an hour if you got lucky). The duck was cooked to perfection; skin was tasty and not oily at all; the meat was tender and delicious. Beside the Peking Duck, the Pig Lung Soup with Almond was also a must-order. The almond flavor expressed so well that made the soup tasted amazingly smooth and silky. It was extraordinary. Don't ever miss out their desserts especially the Steam Milk Pudding. We ordered a second one even though we were all feeling full to the throat. Service was very attentive and friendly. Wine list is impressive with great wines. The dinner was a total delight!

Yelp
Ate here on our first official night in HK and loved it. First the decor looks like cool old movie set with the bar that looks very fancy. There was some private event going on with beautiful women inside the bar area. The service is incredibly solicitous and our waiter was so friendly and patient. We had char siu and suckling pig that was so delicious and the latter so crispy. Veggies were cooked to perfection crunchy and green. The tofu with ginkgo was so special and with a noodle like texture. The beef with garlic chips and the fried rice with fried scallops oh so good. This place felt very luxurious and was delicious and I loved it. Loved the serving chopsticks. Loved the ginormous napkins. It was such a lovely start to our trip. My friend paid so I didn't even see the menu but I'm guessing it was not cheap given how lovely the place looked.

Yelp
Best dim sum I've ever had, if they all taste like this then maybe I will like dim sum more. I heard it's hard to get a reservation here so I made it almost a month ahead of time, so glad I did. This place brings dim sum to another level. Everything there tastes so good and unique, it's not like typical dim sum with chicken feet/dumplings/buns. Of course it comes with a price, all I can say is it's not cheap but it's worth it. No words can describe how good it taste so it's better for u to go and find out urself. I would have to say the only thing that's not worth the money is the pitch of sugar cane juice with some kind of tea, it was 380 HKD...the most expensive item we got. Just spend ur money on the delicious food.

Yelp
A posh dining experience surrounded by opulence, which is unsurprising given its location in central and also in landmark atrium. It is on the 4th floor and has a bar, dining area and also private rooms for dining. The food is really great, especially the chicken which had an amazing taste (usually chicken just taste bland right??). The mixed fried rice is too oily and I would Skip ordering this. Otherwise we had roast pork belly, fish, some western beef that was oh so tender even though it was strange to eat with our very Chinese meal (sorry I wasnt the one ordering and I couldn't take photos in front of my very polite company!!). Do not order the beef with chili unless you like your food really spicy. It was covered in black pepper as well. Waiters were good at refilling tea until the end of the meal where I was thirsty and waiting for more water... Or maybe this is their polite way of telling us to order either after dinner coffee and wine or leave now!?? Dessert wise I didn't think the melon coconut jelly was that special even though it had a great papaya taste. The sesame ball was however a favorite on the table.

Yelp
Truly elegant Chinese Cantonese style restaurant. Beautiful deco. Very typical HK food but some dishes are just above expectations. Not cheap. Get your wallet ready.

Yelp
Very fancy & posh restaurant, felt like I was underdressed for this. Anyways we had a dim sum lunch and the dim sum here is awesome. The service is memorable; the staff here really are trying their best to accommodate us.

Yelp
China Tang is located in the Landmark Building in Central Hong Kong. The patrons were ethnic Chinese who appeared to be on the affluent side. We were the only Caucasians in the main restaurant, where we were eventually seated after the woman in charge of seating us tried to make us dine in the bar, where the other "non-Chinese" were seated. It was twenty to thirty minutes before a waiter approached our table to take our order. When our food arrived it was cold and unappetizing. We found the food extremely disappointing and lost our appetites. We then watched as the table next to us sent their entire meal of Peking Duck back to the kitchen. We have had far better Chinese food all over the world including London, Toronto and New York City. This restaurant is not recommended.

Yelp
Comes from London. Wonderful, gorgeous and fashionable.
