Ordered 4 chocolate chip cookies. Not impressed at all. Needs to be sweeter saltier and chewier. It tastes too dense, crispy and doughy somehow all at the same time. It’s also entirely way too large. Idk why certain establishments are obsessed with making these gargantuan cookies but then forget to focus on the flavor and texture. Like thanks for the value but it still doesn’t taste great. You’ve only accomplished giving me an even larger mediocre chocolate chip cookie. Insomnia Cookies is better than this place. If you want an actual good chocolate chip cookie, go to Culture Espresso or 7 Grams in NYC. THAT is what it should taste like. Even LeVain is way better than this if you must have a baseball sized cookie. Unfortunately, I am still searching for anything decent in my neighborhood of Astoria. Why is this so damn hard to find? People trying way to hard with the simplest of cookies smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

These are not your regular cookies, these are the best cookies in town. They are big, chunky, freshly baked and they taste like a little piece of heaven. There are 13 flavors in total yet they do 4 different ones each day. There is usually always a line outside no matter what time but it runs fast and they are worth the wait. Each cookie is about $4.75 each or 3 cookies for about $14 total. Small place with big flavors. My favorites are oatmeal apple pie and chocolate chip. The oatmeal one tastes like a perfectly baked apple pie, with the right amount of sweetness, so soft and so delightful. Now as a chocolate lover, the chocolate chip cookie is just perfection for me.

Small quaint yet elegant with a small sense of grace. The cookies are warm and big with a price point that is not too high but moderate. The logo and mascot are awesome pictures to look for and collect and the display within the store stands out.

My friend and I love this shop. Their cookie prices are cheaper than the Manhattan Chip City’s however their staff can be rude at times. We are Chip City enthusiast; we get chip city at least 3-4 times a month, if not more. I hope management conducts proper training for staff on how to treat customers especially considering the size of their location when waiting for cookies. The one staffer in a “don’t annoy me tone” stated we had to wait inside for 15 minutes to get cookies meanwhile, the cookies were distributed in 4 minutes. The cookies are amazing. Love their cookies! They are so thick and delicious! The Sea Salt Nutella is perfection! And the classic chocolate chip, triple chocolate and funfetti were all fantastic too! Would highly recommend getting a 1/2 dozen box - (they offer the 6th cookie free) to try a few different flavors!

Oh what a shop to be in!! I love this cookie shop!! Their cookies are so damn good. I cannot tell you how great they are! They cost a tad bit more than a regular run of the mill cookie but I promise, they’re so good. My favorite is the s’mores cookie. Metered parking is available but you can’t sit in the cookie shop. The customer service is excellent, my server was super friendly and helpful. Pre-ordering is also available.

Chip City is one of the most consistently delicious cookie spots. The rainbow cookie will always be a top choice but since have had other specialty cookies and have never had a bad experience. Love the addition of the app and not having to wait on line anymore, super efficient. Staff is always nice but I think I would be too if I worked in a cookie shop

This was a small Chip City and it had a lot of staff working. It was extremely busy because of National Cookie Day. Even though I placed an online order, I still had to wait in line with all the other people who placed online orders. The cookies were big and tasted good but I didn't taste anything unique about the cookie. The price of the cookie was $5.50 each and got it free using the promo code. This was good opportunity to try out the cookie for free!

Ordered: 2 Crookies (~$13): Chocolate Chip & Cookies N Cream Aya's take: The croissant cookie aka Crookie has taken the world by storm and shout out to Chip City for getting ahead of the trend here in NYC. As if you ever needed a reason to have more sugar and calories in one go, the croissant cookie combo actually works. The Crookies were fresh; it's basically the typical cookie with a flaky, buttery texture added to it. It was a good try but overall, I felt that the cookies could be better incorporated in each bite of the croissant layer. Try it out if you see it in stores!

A cute little walk up cookie spot. The girls working behind the counter were really sweet and helpful. The cookies had a Great crispy yet chewy consistency. The chocolate chip was my favorite, s'mores 2nd fav and the brownie 3rd fav from what we tried. Not overly sweet which I do appreciate. I wish there was just a bit more flavor variety.

I thought it would be just a fad but the crookies are actually good! The croissant itself is good which I think is the key here. Try these but they are pricey at $6 and the buy 5 get 1 free deal doesn't apply for them. I'm not sure how to post a complaint though - I ordered one of everything but they got me 2 of the confetti and not the cookies and cream so I can't rank them in order of what I like.

I walked in after dinner for dessert and they were so friendly. The young lady was so patient with me because it was my 1st time and had no clue which one I wanted . I decided on the s'mores and apple pie oatmeal cookies . They were warm , the s'mores cookie was delish and the pie oatmeal cookie literally had apple pie filling and it was so good ! Cant wait for another cheat day because those cookies will be happening again. Its a grab and go spot so there was no seating but I didn't mind, I devoured my cookies in the car .

This review is for the new chocolate chip crookie. I made a mistake and came too late in the day. I was advised to come back before 11am when they stop serving it. I did as such and was surprised to learn the cookie comes in 4 types! I tried the chocolate chip one and was very pleased by the texture. Essentially, it looks like a cookie baked on top of a croissant lol but I'm not mad at it!

Chip City is a go-to spot for cookies in NYC, and I've visited multiple locations with consistently good experiences. However, if you're a fan of crispy cookies like my husband and I, you might find their big, thick cookies falling short of expectations. While all the cookies are decent, they're definitely on the hefty side--enough to share between 2-3 people. My personal favorite is the blueberry cheese, especially when paired with a warm cup of coffee. It's a convenient spot for a quick sweet treat in a casual setting with friendly staff ready to assist.

I love a good cookie, and while Chip City may be that for some people, it unfortunately does not crack the top 10 for me (but that is mainly for personal preference). I do enjoy their creative flavors that rotate regularly and the cookies are of a certain substantial heft so I do feel that you are getting your money's worth. However, my biggest complaint is that they are much too sweet (which may not be a problem for others!) and soft (again, not necessarily an issue if you prefer cookies on the softer side) for me. This location is tucked away on a quiet side street by the 30th Av (N/W) station. It is quite small, even with the bar seating so I would definitely recommend grab and go.

In only 4 years, they jacked up the price per cookie by nearly 60%. However, they forgot one important fact, which is that Levain Bakery exists, is in Queens, and is the same price as they are. And unfortunately, they cannot compete with perfection. They would have been better off trying to compete on value than on quality. I can't say they are bad, because they aren't. Baking your own cookies is rare in this day and age. But I don't feel the value proposition is there compared to when they opened. At the current price ($6 per cookie, after tax) it feels like you are overspending unless you want something pretty to post on Instagram.

Best and HUGE cookies in town!!! For the price of $4.50 it is well worth it and you can get 5 cookies and one free for $22.50. They do change there cookies weekly so you can try every week a different one and never get tried. The cookies have a crispy outer part and super soft inner part sooo good and must try hands down! ^.^

Did you know that this is the original location??? Man I was parked right out front leaving an event in the pouring rain and my stomach must have eyes and legs because out of no where I was out my car and at the front door. The two young ladies assisted were awesome as I exploded with elation thru the door telling them how much I was wanting to try the cookies. Thru gave me fun facts and smiles probably laughing at how happy I was. I got a cookies and crème cookie after gushing about how much I wanted it and walked out like the huge adult child that I am and devoured it- in the pouring rain- with no milk. Idk if they just made mine but it was that good and definitely too big for me to eat. Perfect crisp, density and sweetness. My heart was HAPPY!

Cookies are so hot right now! And Chip City is right up there with the best of them. A little tiny spot to grab a yourself a sweet snack, Chip City's cookies are not too big, but not too small. I am a huge fan of their cookies and their usual flavors. This time around they had Triple Chocolate (My fav), Funfetti, Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Chip. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and with the staff behind the counter being so patient, I was able to have a great experience, since I always have a tough time deciding what I want. I ended up ordering five cookies and got an extra cookie for free. The cookies, for what you get, are reasonably priced, and are super tasty! I definitely recommend stopping in if you're looking for a quick sweet treat!

My favorite cookies in nyc! Chip and levain are my favorite cookies in nyc but I think chip has a bit of an edge when it comes to creativity and all their unique flavors. My top cookies are the s'mores and blueberry cheesecake but you also can't go wrong with a classic chocolate chip cookie. Also I just tried their baklava cookie and it was PHENOMENAL to say the least. My friend and I got their right when they opened to snag a few. Make sure to follow them on Instagram for their weekly menu rotation and any new cookies they announce! Another tip is if you pay cash you will save a little bit of $$$

Came here today around Christmas time and this week they have the holiday weekly special :D Their weekly special this week is: white chocolate gingerbread, chocolate pepermint and Chai Snowball/coconut. Got their box special: buy 5 get 1 free! There was a line to get the cookies, thank god it's not sold out I always love their chocolate chip cookies, my all time favorite !!!!! so I got 2 of them and got one each of different favors. They are so gooooooood The gingerbread one is slightly too sweet but chocolate chip is the best as always. When I received them, they were still warm and chocolate chip was melting !!

I was introduced to Chip City by my boyfriends best friend who lives near by. It's a small in and out location. I like that the menu is simple. Cookies and drinks is really all (drinks sounded delicious, but caffeine at that hour is a no go for me). I somehow was able to control myself and not do the 'buy 5, get 1 free' promo, but I did get one of each of the flavors of the day: regular chocolate chip, blueberry cheesecake, and triple chocolate. They were all incredible. The replies chocolate might have been my favorite. Big cookies with crisp edges-soft in the middle. Not quite Levain status, but certainly up there. The price is $4/cookie, which is reasonable for comparable places. Staff was super friendly and efficient. Will definitely be stopping by next time I'm in the neighborhood and can't wait to try some more flavors.

Chip City has so many locations and all my coworkers / daughter rave about the cookies! I decided to go Christmas Eve expecting that the lines would be long but they weren't at all which was great! I think they used to do daily flavors that would change but the girl at the counter made me aware that it's now weekly! Follow them on Instagram so you know which flavors are available! I got 6 cookies in total - two brookies, two fa la la funfetti & two chai snowball. The chai snowball was surprisingly my favorite! I'm not a chai person but the coconut flakes / marshmallow on top sealed the deal for me. The other cookies were good but that one stood out to me the most! They are best warm! The next day they weren't as good but we warmed them up which made them better! Def a must try!

Felt like getting Levain but in Astoria. Also not as big and cooked through ,ie it's got that just undercooked gooey warm inside. But at $4.50 per cookie, plus an unadvertised 3% service charge for using your credit card (or maybe put the more correct way not advertising a 3% discount for paying with cash) I'll probably still end up going to Levain when I want a jumbo cookie, even at about 10% more per cookie in cost (and I think 20% bigger in size). For a gift, I like the design of their boxes more versus chip city, which reminds me of the cartoon City Island. In the end though, this is a four star review so there's really nothing bad here.

So I lived in astoria all my life and passed my this place a thousand times. Decided to go in today to fulfill my sweet tooth. Couldn't decide from all the styles of cookies soo I got the box which offers you one free. From regular chocolate chip to s'mores I tried them all. Washed it down with a pumpkin spice latte. Total cost. $30. Would I go back. No. Wasn't bad at so but wasn't worth the $30 but any means. Sorry. I'll gladly pass by another Thousand times. Matter of fact. I have the box of partially eaten cookies away without second thought. Btw. The cookies were torn apart but eaten from directly. Overall save you $$ for a Krispy Kreme dinner and a coffee. I would.

Desserts are very tricky. It's tough to find a blend of something sweet and satisfying that doesn't leave you feeling too bloated afterwards. I highly recommend chip city and their plant based chocolate chip cookie. It's extremely filling, delicious and doesn't leave you with the post sugar rush blues. The packaging was also very appealing to the eye. Overall great cookie, size, aesthetic.

Think Levain but more humble. The cookies are big, soft (crispy cookie lovers look elsewhere), and a little cake/sconelike. The price is up to $4.50 each. Flavors rotate daily, you can check ahead of time on their website or instagram. The instagram and online ordering says that the plant-based vegan chocolate chip cookie is available daily, the website doesn't list it on the weekly menu. The regular chocolate chip is also served every day, though if you hit them at the wrong time they may be temporarily out of one or two flavors. For me the chocolate chip is the best - a brown sugar cookie with dark chocolate chips. I think the more unusual flavors are usually sweeter. I've enjoyed chocolate peanut butter, s'mores, red velvet, cookies and cream, and pumpkin. I love a seasonal or special holiday flavor promotion but if I could only have one cooke here it's chocolate chip all the way. Formerly known as Chip NYC, there used to be a time when there'd be a line around the block for this place on weekends. That seems to have relaxed a little bit since they expanded citywide but it's still a popular spot. The cookies do okay on the counter for a day or two but are obviously best fresh. Individual cookies are served in pastry bags, three are more are served in a handle-less box. If you want to be super decedent grab some ice cream across the street at Ample Hills to go with your warm cookies.

Ok, Chip City gets their fifth star even if Levain Bakery masters homemade cookies best. As runners-up, Chip City cookies satisfy my cookie fiend sweet tooth on every level. My thoughts on the three cookies I tried. Chocolate Chip: Brown sugar cookie with dark chocolate chips. Gooey, moist, and generously-packed. A solid chocolate chip cookie. White Chocolate Macadamia Nut: The best from the lot. I love a decadent white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, and Chip City meets my standard. A perfect ratio of white chocolate to macadamia nut, a delightful experience. Triple Chocolate: A brownie in cookie form. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate trifecta inside a dark chocolate cookie. Indulgent in its own right but pales in comparison to the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut. I love me some white chocolate! Coffee: Hm. Decent. Not great, but gets the job done to achieve that late-morning sugar rush. If in Astoria and craving a fresh cookie, give Chip City a go. It's a tasty experience.

They run out of flavors which is the only thing you need to watch out for, and there usually is a line to get the cookies

Chip NYC is the best cookie place I've had in NY, dare I say, IMO, even better than a certain iconic spot that is more well known in NYC that rhymes with Pinky and "the brain". These cookies always have a perfect slight crispy crunchiness on the outside and ooey gooey soft goodness on the inside. These are amazing cookies to have fresh, AND still taste delicious if reheated at home (Yes, go ahead and order that half dozen). Chocolate chip is my go to and never disappoints, white chocolate macadamia is good as well, and I recently had one of their specials, which was an apple pie cookie filled with apple pie filling in the middle, and it was one of the best cookies I've ever had. These cookies are great because they aren't overwhelmingly sweet, are thick, and are the perfect texture.

Some REALLY amazing cookies here! Only a small variety available, which actually made deciding very easy! They are $4 each or 6 for $20. I didn't want to keep 6 of these delicious looking cookies in the house because realistically I'd eat them all in one sitting so I opted for 2, chocolate chip and cookies n cream. They were both SO good ! I let my little one try both and he was in heaven! I've tried some of the other "big cookie" places and this one really stands out. I had to wait a few minutes outside on line but it was well worth it! These cookies are packed with goodness, nice crunch on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. Next time I'm in the area, I will for sure stop by for more!

Finally a chance to try this cookie place in Astoria after all this time. The other locations are located in Astoria (Ditmars), LIC, and NYC - West Village. With Covid, the bakery allows 1 person in the store expect a line though it moves fast. The cookies are large and soft-baked (think huge cookie); good for sharing (or not!). Good and quick service. Since it is late in the day (~5 PM), there are 3 flavors left: banana nut oat, key lime pie, and funfetti. For more options, I would recommend going earlier in the day (which I have to do next time)! Note: Buy 5 cookies, Get 1 free! The order of my favorite: Banana Nut Oat: has a nice balance and not sweet. Key Lime Pie: taste like key lime, though after a few bites, it was a bit sweet. Funetti: didn't have the same wow as the other 2 cookies. Can't wait to try the other flavors! Definitely have to share...or should I? Hope you enjoy!

Went to Chip city to try the Rugrats Angelica Sweet and Sassy cookie and hot damn this was good! Only thing that would have made it better was eating it with some Ample Hills but maybe next time. This was a fusion of two cookies that were meant for each other like Tommy Pickles parents. Funfetti and chocolate chip was a love scene I did not think I needed but glad I had. Tasty, sassy, sweet and delicious!
