Chubby Cattle offers an exceptional hotpot experience with melt-in-your-mouth A5 Wagyu and a vibrant setting, perfect for a memorable date night.
"Philadelphians with a wagyu obsession, meet Chubby Cattle. The Chinatown restaurant was built around the fixation. The Japanese menu has multiple tiers, but the $55 silver package is the best bang for your buck. The starters like wagyu tartare and bone marrow are all well and good, but it’s the bubbly broth you’re here for. They’ve got a few to choose from, and you can drown everything from thinly sliced ribeye to an entire platter of seafood in them. Grab some friends, take over a booth, and find out why nobody in your group could’ve won Hell’s Kitchen this year. The wagyu nigiri is the best starter" - candis mclean
"As far as hot pot goes, Chubby Cattle is the best in Philly. The broths are flavorful (get the tomato oxtail), and all the meat, seafood, and vegetable add-ins come in huge quantities. You order with a server for the main stuff, but there’s also a little conveyor belt that zips around the tables filled with bowls of extras in case you decide you’d like to add a handful of enoki mushrooms to your soup. This place can get busy (and doesn’t take reservations), so you should expect a long wait. Luckily, it tends to be quiet during lunch hours, so that’s our favorite time to go." - candis mclean, alison kessler
"Chinatown’s restaurant scene continues to prosper with a new spot that’s serving all-you-can-eat Wagyu Shabu. Even better, it’s pretty affordable with options starting at $45 per diner." - Ernest Owens
"Chubby Cattle is a place where technology brings innovation to the traditional hot pot dining experience. Customize your hot pot with fresh and premium ingredients like Wagyu beef, handmade noodles, and vegetables that are ordered via iPad, and then delivered by conveyor belt. This creates an unforgettable meal that will make you eager to return." - George Banks-Weston
"Chubby Cattle is an all-you-can-eat place known for hot pot, which is a popular dish to enjoy with family and friends during the cold Lunar New Year season." - Diana Lu
