"In a small alley next to the Forte de Leça da Palmeira stands Cibû, a charming restaurant that takes its name from a typical expression of the Trás-os-Montes region. The space shows Nordic influences, with stone walls and a predominance of wood in the ceilings and furniture, which define the character of the setting. In the kitchen is Chef Hugo Portela who, after working in renowned restaurants in Norway, Barcelona and Switzerland, decided to invest in his own team alongside his partner Sara Silva. The menu, designed for sharing, is inspired by traditional Portuguese dishes with touches from northern recipes, including delicacies such as Beef and Chaves bread, the small "Mindinha" rib, and fried "Pilchard" — not to mention the desserts, which are well worth saving a little space for!" - Michelin Inspector

A wonderful restaurant with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The menu focuses on Northern-inspired dishes, thoughtfully elevated by the chef with creative, original touches. Everything we tried was outstanding. We started with their homemade breads served with butter and olive oil, along with three shareable snacks. Everything was delicious, but the beef tartare stood out with its subtle citrus notes that added a bright, unexpected twist. The octopus entrée was another standout, served over a rich, savory, bread-like gravy that we couldn’t get enough of.

Amazing food! It is truly an explosion of flavor and creativity! Mouthwatering flavors. We loved everything we tried. The steak was on a simpler side in terms of presentation, but the flavors were exquisite.

CIBU offers a delightful dining experience with tasty octopus, excellent service, and a fantastic ambiance, enhanced by relaxing chill-out music. While the portions may be on the smaller side, the incredible flavors more than make up for it. It's a great spot for those who appreciate quality over quantity.

Hidden gem found.. We just had our 10 year anniversary here and we could not have chosen a better restaurant. We absolutely loved it, the food looked and tasted amazing, every dish was flavourful and perfectly cooked. The wine was outstanding. And the service was as good, if not better, than some Michelin starred restaurants we have eaten at and for a fraction of the cost. 5/5 no hesitation!
