Claire's Corner Copia - Review - Downtown - New Haven - The Infatuation

"We’ve seen people go to this place to take shots of the icing alone. Locals and students alike swear by the Lithuanian coffee cake, a delicious cinnamony slice that manages to be both dense and fluffy. Venture away from the crowd to try the ricotta chocolate chip cake, a sleeper hit that is actually the best dessert on the menu." - Ciera Velarde

Google
A good place to drop by if you're looking for a fully vegetarian spot. The tofu is soft but the flavors are on the generic and bland side, however the food is very healthy overall. The atmosphere is also great for studying with plenty of sunlight. Staff is very friendly also!

Google
A really fun corner café with excellent vegan and vegetarian options. The entire café is vegetarian, and almost everything can be modified to be vegan. A good portion of the menu is vegan already. They also have clearly marked vegan baked goods in their own section. Everything tastes delicious, the grande burrito I got could feed an entire house! The staff was extremely courteous and the owner was present and happy to see every customer. I would highly recommend this place to any vegan or vegetarian visiting New Haven.

İ like the place. And ı like the variety of the food. Cant belive there is artichoke stuffed! I wish i can try artichoke, lazagna a few more things… The omlette was huge! I only didn’t like one thing is; they didn’t bring our meals at the same time. When i had half of my omlette the other order arrive.

Please avoid going here unless you have extra money and extra time. I waited about 90 minutes for a margherita pizza! It was basically flat bread with a runny sauce and cheese on top. I’m pretty sure the sauce was just marinara—like the kind you’d use for pasta. Superrrrr greasy and tasted really weird. The cheese didn’t even stick to the bread because of the watery sauce. And the coffee cake? Kind of a disappointment too. The icing was just straight-up sugar—you could literally feel the sugar crystals in every bite. So much huff and puff, money, and time… and I’m still hungry!!!

Google
The quiche was excellent and came with a side of fruit and a small loaf of bread which were both delicious. The light roast coffee was some of the best I've had. The vibe is wonderful! Great place!

My friends and I came here for brunch at around 1pm and it was packed. You have to wait in line and pick up your drinks at the counter, and find a table (which might be a bit hard at rush hours). I would recommend getting the Grilled Cheese Florentine and the Avocado Confetti Tartine if you're not there for the breakfast menu. We came back another day for a drink and dessert and it was delicious, my friend had an amazing London Fog and you must get the Lithuanian Coffee Cake! Slightly overpriced tho...

Google
Quiche was amazing, very cozy, everyone was super nice. I would not recommend the matcha latte if you like matcha, but I’m not holding it against them because everything else was so good.

Walking into Claire’s Corner Copia feels less like entering a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a community built on kindness, care, and a true love of good food. With its signature motto, “Be Kinder Than Necessary,” proudly on display, Claire’s doesn’t just serve food — it serves values, warmth, and a reminder that compassion can be a part of every meal. The all-vegetarian menu is a vibrant celebration of organic ingredients, thoughtfully prepared and bursting with freshness. Whether you're savoring a classic like the Lithuanian Coffee Cake or exploring something new from their ever-inventive specials board, every bite feels nourishing — not just for the body, but the soul. The staff are simply delightful: warm, welcoming, and always happy to share recommendations or just brighten your day with a smile. Their genuine care for guests and passion for the food they serve is unmistakable. Claire’s isn’t just my favorite local restaurant — it’s a sanctuary for conscious dining, where every detail, from the sustainability of the ingredients to the kindness of the service, makes you feel good about your choice. In a world that moves fast and often forgets to be gentle, Claire’s Corner Copia is a beautiful reminder that kindness and good food never go out of style.

Yelp
Great food and service! Have been coming here for a long time, and I always consistently have a great experience.

Yelp
I loved Claire's! As a vegetarian with food allergies, it is rare that I go to a restaurant where I have more than 2-3 options, max. I was a bit overwhelmed by all of my options at Claire's, but in a good way! They were very cognizant of allergies and other dietary restrictions (kosher, gluten free, etc.) I had the vegetarian BLT, which was very good and I added avocado. The refried beans that came with my friend's quesadilla were homemade. There was a line that moved somewhat slowly, but when I got to the front I realized it was because they were taking such care in getting each customer's customizations. I also noticed that Claire spoke to the other workers with a great deal of kindness and respect.

Yelp
Meh. I asked if their ginger ale was very sweet, and they were ambivalent and said it had a gingery kick, but it was just sugar with very minimal ginger flavor and no kick. The house salad advertised as mixed greens was entirely spinach with one piece of lettuce. Strange... The croutons were pretty soft and uncrisp. I'd feel bad giving them one star because the service is friendly... Maybe their other food is better.

Yelp
Claire's has been serving vegetarian food for almost 50 years! For decades I've looked forward to visiting Claire's whenever I'm in the New Haven area because Claire's offers a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan foods, bakery, and specialty coffee and tea drinks. Taking metro north to NYC? Claire's! Museum visits in New Haven? Claire's! Visiting family and friends in Connecticut? Claire's! We went for breakfast and ordered the granola bowl--a hearty, flavorful homemade granola, full of textures and flavors served with yogurt, banana and honey and the vegan pancakes with mango (sometimes you just want some mango!) served with real maple syrup. Claire's knows how to do vegan pancakes--the photos don't do them justice. We both had the iced apple pie chai special. Sweet apple flavor and the chai was still spicy. The restaurant itself is bright and cheery; a combination of brick and two walls of windows. We looked at the local art (modern sparkly paintings of Prince, Billie Holliday, and Sinatra) and the New Haven Green from our table and listened to Tchaicovsky while we waited for our food. The counter service was polite and the food was delivered to the table promptly. The lunch and dinner menu include vegetarian and vegan sandwiches (the tempeh BLT is one of my go-tos), veggie burgers, burritos, and traditional items such as quiches and eggplant parm. You will see the bakery in the glass cases as you walk in: scones, cupcakes, pies, whoopie pies, etc, and there are always vegan and gluten free options. Claire's started serving vegetarian food in 1975, before it was a mainstream thing, and there's a reason they will soon be celebrating 50 years. It's one of my favorite restaurants anywhere and I'll look forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Stopped in real quick yesterday when I was in the area checking out the Yale University Art Gallery. I opted for a Pumpkin Lassi smoothie and took home a slice of the double decker carrot cake. Both were absolutely divine and really made it feel like Fall despite the hot weather outside for November. My smoothie took a little longer to make as I saw other customers coming and going. My co-worker ordered right before me and her smoothie was handed to her in no time at all, but mine seemed to take a while. Well worth the wait though. Hopefully it won't take me another 13 years to be back!

Yelp
Claire's has been serving vegetarian food on this corner for years, and while I've been here a number of times, I've somehow only ever had sweet things, like their famous Lithuanian coffee cake and carrot cake. We got some vegan items on a recent trip - snickerdoodle cookie, lemon coconut blueberry loaf, and pumpkin whoopie pie - and they were tasty treats, the loaf our favorite of the three. I think their vegan baked goods are good, not the best I've ever had, but the best in New Haven since vegan options are kind of limited. Ample seating to work or study, and friendly staff.

Yelp
Claire's is the oldest continuously operated vegan/vegetarian restaurant in CT that I'm aware of. The sign says 1975. Can you beat it? The location is great. Literally at the corner of Chapel and College in downtown New Haven. It's cute inside. Location and atmosphere are definitely a plus. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but I have some experience with both cuisines. In my visits spanning the many years at Claire's, I would say things are generally pretty good, but don't measure up to the CT vegan and vegetarian spots presently doing things at the highest levels. Recently, I ordered a House Ginger Ale. It was pretty good. Had a very clear ginger flavor. Could have used some more acidity. I added a squeeze of fresh lemon when I got home and that helped. The baked goods were decent. The Lithuanian Coffee Cake seems to have actual sweetened ground coffee in it. It wasn't one of the more memorable coffee cakes I've tasted in recent years, but they are limiting themselves in ingredients. The sunbutter cookie was a thick and dense sunflower version of a peanut butter cookie. It was OK. My son only ate one bite of his half. If I'm rating the food and drink from my recent visit, it would probably be 3.25 stars. However, the history, location and atmosphere are worth a bump up to 3.5 Stars.

Yelp
I'm a New Haven native so I'm well aware of what a staple Claire's Corner Copia is. My oldest sister used to work here when she was in college and would bring home the carrot cake for us every time she worked. Now being a full time vegan/vegetarian (don't ask), I knew exactly where to go when I was home visiting. Got here on Valentine's Day at 3:30pm to grab a late lunch with a close friend and I never realized how extensive the menu is. From sandwiches, to salads, Mexican entrees, flatbreads and etc., it was kind of a lot and a bit overwhelming. I ended up getting the BBQ tofu pizza and it fell short. When I got it, I noticed it wasn't cooked all the way and I had to send it back to the kitchen. Even after that, it wasn't tasty and was actually a mess. I assumed since Claire's has been in the vegetarian game for years, the food would be exceptional. It wasn't. Plus, they only give you a table spoon of guacamole and charge $7. Smh. Their carrot cake is really good though.

Yelp
Enticed in by the pastry seen through the window. Wasn't sure what to chose so I left it up to the server and told her I am lactose intolerant. She chose two delicious vegan pastries. A blueberry lemon cake and a rich chocolate cake. The blueberry lemon was moist, light and had a hint of lemon flavoring. It was super. However, the chocolate cake was rich, decadent, sinful....I could not stop eating it! So good! Also got the apple chai which was a warm hug in a cup. Sweet and so flavorful. Loved it.

Yelp
The place had a cute, homey vibe, but the food didn't blow me away. Still good though. The menu was more a confusing mishmash of chalkboards and various signs, but that being said they have a lot of options, so chances are you'll find SOMETHING you like here- even though it's vegetarian. You're brought your food, but it's primarily self serve which does help speed things along. I ordered the Avocado Plus salad which was decent, but the tofu and croutons were quite greasy and weighed the salad down. And just because the bread is homemade doesn't mean it's good-it was pretty dense, definitely needed more yeast. Still, it's a cute place so I can't be too harsh.

Yelp
What a cute cafe! From the outside it looked to be super lively so I decided to stop in after walking around New Haven. There have a large menu (consisting of breakfast sandwiches, salads, wraps and pasta) and so many vegan, vegetarian and gluten free friendly options. I was immediately intrigued by their apple pie chai, since chai is one of my favorites. It was delicious - definently recommend if cinnamon, chai, and apple cider are your thing! They also had so many sweet treats on display that I could not resist. I got a chocolate banana and chocolate coconut mini Bundt cakes. The banana Bundt cake was moist and rich. The chocolate coconut was tasty, but a bit dry so not as enjoyable.

Kelly R.

Yelp
The gauc is very good but the meal itself left something to be desired. Mainly because, my tofu with ranchero sauce and chips had an odd almost dirt like (?) aftertaste! The previous times we went here--I got a smoothie with soy milk which was solid (albeit not super thick) but very good! The inconsistency in the food is for the 3 star rating! The vibes are good and everyone seems to enjoy eating there I just wouldn't do lunch there again and instead stick to the smoothies and breakfast offerings

Yelp
This was an eatery my vegetarian friend recommended as we came here on a day trip. It is a casual eatery filled with locals. The bathroom requires asking the staff to open the door. Order was pretty fast. I enjoyed the Pineapple upside down cake the best. I as enthused about my entree, but I guess that's that. Still this seems very popular with locals.

Elle D.

Yelp
LOVE this place!! The ambience is incredible, beautiful tables, brick, local art. The service was very nice and the employees were friendly and helpful, asked them for recommendations and they were excited to help. The seasonal salad and flatbreads are delicious and very healthy, and there is a wide variety of pastries offered. I don't have any allergies but I can imagine it would be a great place to eat for someone who does.

Samantha G.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time for years. I made a large to go purchase of pastries and a hot entree from a very nice person behind the counter, who gave me my coffee and pastries. Her colleague brought my entree out and it was cold. I said in a fully polite way "oh, this is cold, I had hoped to get it served hot" and this second employee unloaded invectives and condescension, bizarrely chastising me for ordering before closing time but near it, blaming me in a multi-sentence rant for her error (which a third employee backed up with a comment). I asked to return the cold entree for a refund (it is actually very overpriced for what it is, but I had been happy to pay for what was before today a good ambiance and decent service), again politely and I was again met with unprofessional rudeness. I appreciate that one out of three employees. I don't go to cafes to be treated rudely. I could make coffee at home and order delivery if I wanted to avoid human interaction! Sadly I will now have to avoid Claire's CornerCopia. I have gone there for many years and almost certainly spent more than a thousand dollars there. I will never come back. I recommend Spruce Coffee, Fussy Coffee, or Atticus.

Yelp
Claire's has a wonderful selection of vegetarian and vegan options. They also have delicious desserts, seasonal desserts and smoothies. The staff is friendly. The restaurant itself is cozy and inviting. A New Haven staple worth going to again and again

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick bite on a rainy afternoon. It feels like a cozy spot, and you need to snag a table after ordering. The menu is decent, and we ordered three florentine grilled cheeses, two seltzers and a vanilla cupcake. It's weird that they serve sandwiches but don't serve chips. That came out to $47, which felt steep. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come out, even though it didn't seem that busy at the time. The food was solid enough. The bread was tasty, as were the mozzarella, tomatoes and spinach. It did feel kind of unremarkable though, especially for the price. The cupcake was actually really tasty, so maybe it's a better spot for baked goods.
google avatar

Cat C.

Yelp
Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and fast. I appreciate the thoughtful questions about my dietary restrictions. Excellent scone, vegan matcha and vegan caesar. Kind of a busy atmosphere inside, I took my order to go and they packaged it with care. Thank you!

Yelp
Claire's is the perfect place to get any sandwich, snack, or drink at. My friends recommended it while I was in town and I love places like this. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. There is a wide variety of iced teas and lemonades which are amazing, especially for summer. Highly recommend. SB: The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because I only got their iced tea/lemonade. I'll update my review once I've gone back and tried something else.

Yelp
If you are in the mood for a great meal this is the spot. When you step into this spot you will have a great time the food has a great scent and everything is made fresh and nothing tastes bad it all tastes wonderful you will find everything to be top of the line. The food is excellent The service is great The prices for the meal They play a very soft style music and the place is so clean I will give this place a 5 star all the way

Gage S.

Yelp
Claire's is a staple for anybody who is vegetarian in New Haven. I go here all the time for a delicious and affordable meal. The people are super nice and friendly. I highly recommend any lemonade freeze (they change depending on what is fresh) and the huevos rancheros. *Note: You do have to buss your own dishes*

Yelp
A very good burrito. A below average for consumption vegan chocolate cake with cream cheese and topped with raspberry jam. This was an interesting game of spot the cream cheese in this cake. When the waitress came to our table I enquired as to the whereabouts of elusive cheese. She first offered an opinion that it's simply dropped in blobs throughout. When I advised her that I had in fact found 2 miniscule pieces of blob but they had the texture of a marshmallow, she quickly informed me that she has no idea what the baking team does and she has no interest either. The scrapping of raspberry jam was a nice addition for colour perhaps but unfortunately not enough to save this attempt, despite the incognito cheese. I've had many versions of vegan chocolate cake before. It's usually very enjoyable, this cardboard tasting cake was simply as offensive to my taste buds as that waitress was to the business and hospitality in general. The homemade ginger ale was nothing to write home about and the unnecessary use of plastic is just plain lazy and unnecessary.
google avatar

carla b.

Yelp
The vegan breakfast scramble was so go, and the vegan breakfast sandwich was just terrible. The oatmeal raisin cookie was pretty good. If you go, get the scramble.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
I love this place! It has a hippie vibe with diner attitude. A gluten free vegan could find items on this menu, and that's impressive alone, but the variety, speed, and impressive baked selection put this corner a don't miss spot.

Melissa Y.

Yelp
Have loved this place since I lived in New Haven 6 years ago. Since then, I've come back every time I'm here visiting friends. Highlights from the *extensive* vegetarian menu are the salads, homemade bread, smoothies and bakery items. Ambiance is delightful as well!
google avatar

Yelp
I had the pleasure of having dinner at Claire's Corner Copia last night. This cafe is a great breakfast, lunch, or dinner option for anyone, particularly someone on a plant-based diet. It is located right in the heart of downtown and has lots of seating by the windows with views of the New Haven Green and Chapel Street. The interior features decor from local artists and pieces that are specific to New Haven. I had one of the specials, which was a soy chicken pot pie. It was fully vegan and was delicious! The pastry on top was so good, I couldn't get enough of it. Claire's also gives you bread with your entree and it's one of the best parts of the whole experience. The service did take a while for everyone at our table and the food wasn't as hot as I would have preferred but overall I had a good experience here. Will definitely be coming back here and will definitely continue to bring people from out-of-town here for a meal.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
The service and customizable menu are awesome. As a vegetarian, I felt taken care of here. I ordered the lemonade freeze (strawberry) and it was ok. I wouldn't get it again. I ordered the banana smoothie and it was ok too. I wish it was a bit thicker and more flavorful. Only putting two ingredients in the smoothie before you pay extra is a bit pathetic? The food itself was unfortunately stale. It felt like all the items were baked in the AM and for a PM bite, it wasn't that great.
google avatar

Nina L.

Yelp
Has been one of my favorite spots for years. I'm not a full vegan, but I love vegan food or should I say I love Claire's your food is amazing. It taste so good. The staff is amazing. The cooks are phenomenal. I have forgotten items and to be quite honest with you. I've called back and they credit me, I cannot stress how much I love this place.

Brian T.

Yelp
Terribly slow wait time to order, the people working were completely inefficient, took forever to get our food. My wife's pasta salad, which should have been the easiest and quickest item, came out last, which should have been first. Drinks were not good at all, food was subpar.
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
It just is.. avocado on toast. For $9ish. The toast was burnt. I mean it was good I guess.
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
I suppose that regulars here would have an easier time of it. For me, the extensive menu written on a big board for which you have to crane your neck upward was annoying; as was the additional signage all over the place. Then there's the matter of how the display cases were set up including one placed at a far end which could easily be missed. Wasn't sure where to order, a little chaotic and it wasn't even busy. The employees were really friendly, nice, and helpful though. The quesadillas were really good but I thought the burrito bowl was nothing more than a bowl of refried beans, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. My biggest issue is with the kosher aspect as people sit at the tables with non kosher food, particularly the outdoor tables.

Darry S.

Yelp
Pretty tasty and fair prices, friendly staff, casual atmosphere, large menu. Would go back.

Yelp
Went to Claire's before Hurricane Henri to load up on food since everything was shutting down. Ordered a bunch of different things for multiple people. Told them that we were saving everything for the next day so they did not heat anything up. Coffee cake/carrot cake: huge portions, very sweet though (too sweet for me personally). Definitely need a drink or something to balance out the sweetness, but taste was good. The lady was nice enough to give me another slice when mine fell on the floor. Chipotle bowl- forgot the name but got a Mexican inspired bowl. Flavors were good but it made my stomach upset...not sure if it was because we kept it overnight (in the fridge though and thoroughly heated the next day) Quesadilla- when they said they would give us the food cold I still expected the food to be cooked, as the other dishes were. To my surprise when I opened the quesadilla box, it was totally uncooked. They just gave us a tortilla with cheese and spinach.....all raw.....see pic. It was honestly pretty funny but considering there was the possibility of power loss we did expect the food to still be cooked so we could eat it cold if it came down to that.... Quiche- solid quiche and flaky crust, probably my favorite dish. Liked the veggies in it Definitely an interesting experience to say the least, food is decent and they have a ton of variety so would be back to try more. Staff were nice as well, just confused by the whole raw quesadilla bit but hopefully there won't be another hurricane anytime soon!

Gabby S.

Yelp
Amazing vegan and vegetarian options. I love the burrito and salads. Their homemade bread is delicious. Their sweets are not to be missed. Highly recommend to anyone in New Haven. The ambiance is cute and homey. Their service is lovely.

Edward O.

Yelp
I used to like this place. I often ordered the huevos rancheros: two eggs on refried beans and tortilla chips with melted cheese, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. Today, as usual, I ordered it with the eggs sunny side up. They came over well: the eggs flipped and cooked all the way through. So they re-did the eggs. But the refried beans were lukewarm, and the cheese on top was not melted, would not melt on the lukewarm beans. (It's not safe to serve lukewarm food: germs grow in it too easily.) Why they couldn't serve the beans hot, I don't know. And if they had put the plate under the broiler, the cheese would have melted and the beans heated. But for some reason they didn't bother to melt the cheese nor heat the beans. And there were no tortilla chips at all. I asked after the chips and was told they were coming. So they were on the side instead of underneath. Why they could make the same dish consistently for years but today not even make it competently--the eggs cooked as asked, the food hot, the chips included, not brought along later--I have no idea. But to me it says either the staff is not trained, or they just don't care. It was NOT busy. It was after 2 pm. There was one other family deciding what to order. The place was half empty. I guess I can't order huevos rancheros there anymore, because they can't get the eggs right or serve the food hot or complete? I have to find something else on the menu I like. But then what are the chances that will be served hot?

E C.

Yelp
First of all, for the love of God, PLEASE bring back paper menus. It is so difficult to read the chalkboard, and not everyone has a cell phone on them all the time. It cheapens the whole experience. Delicious food, but water glasses are teeny tiny, one of the servers is really spacey, the tables wobble like CRAZY, and food comes out at different times for the same party (not just ours-- I've seen it happen at other tables, sometimes 10 minutes apart). Get your food to go. It's usually too fussy to dine in. For recommendations: miso Caesar dressing over an organic vegetable salad, and the barbecue veggie burger. Very tasty.
google avatar

Erin A.

Yelp
If you're not vegan or vegetarian or gluten free or have other dietary needs do NOT let deter you from trying Claire's. If you are one of the above Claire's can meet your needs in a big way. The flavor punch from local ingredients that are organic is a very special combination not to be missed. Their desserts are awesome, all of them, they may not taste conventional but you can tell, immediately, they are made from wholesome ingredients. Their bread that comes with most meals is delicious! Don't miss the seasonal potato latkes made with homemade pineapple apple sauce (I dream about this all year) their drinks are great. Give the chai a try to see what it's supposed to taste like with fresh ingredients. I make an excuse every time I am near New Haven to come here. It's one of the original fast casual dinning experiences. Order at the counter and sit to be brought your food, inside or outside, clear your own plates. Enjoy!!

Michael G.

Yelp
The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed the omelette, breakfast sandwich, and creamy oatmeal. The matcha lattes were great. It is casual with a nice view and pleasant music. I thought it was just a bakery before -- had I known there was such a great breakfast I would've come years ago. And omg the staff are so friendly and patient, accommodating requests for this on the side and gluten free that and can you explain all the different types of milk.

Yelp
It really pains me to leave this review since I've been going to Claire's since childhood. Wait times have been progressively longer, traditional menu items are not the same, meal are missing sides, and hours don't accommodate dinner. I think they've outgrown the space they are in - the seating and ambiance is quaint and it's on a nice corner in downtown New Haven, but it's almost always crowded when I go. As far as catering goes, I had a particularly negative experience. Being such a fan of the food at the time, I called Claire's 6 months in advance to have them cater my micro-wedding of 12 people. I asked for 4 trays of food and some desserts. I was told to call 24 hours before the event. I called two weeks before the event to check again and was told (again) to call 24 hours before. The day before my wedding, 24 hours in advance, I called and was told they cannot accommodate my order. This literally threw off my entire plan and I had to rush around day of to find someone who was able to make something for us - thankfully edge of the woods saved the day. Despite that experience, we continued to go to Claire's and have been pretty disappointed. All of that being said, they are a great option for plant based peoples and a classic New Haven spot. Worth a try if you're in the mood for some staple meals.

Yelp
Claire's is a New Haven and Yale staple. It's known for its homey vegetarian food, Lithuanian coffee cake, and smoothies. The decor and vibe is quite comfortable and homey. Having said that, I personally feel that the food is over priced for what you get. It's quite literally good home cooked food which I don't find overwhelmingly special and so I'm not keen to spend my money here for food if I'm eating out or ordering take out. On the flipside, the baked goods are great. I've also ordered a custom cake from here which was great (SUPER rich and buttery though).

Yelp
Love Claire's...have for years and years. We ordered the Falafel pita, Blended strawberry lemonade, iced cold brew and Cornercopia Burrito with chipotle "chicken" (tofu). It was hot, fresh and delicious. Also brought home a slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and a whoopie pie like desert. It was all extremely good.

Yelp
Went in for breakfast on a Friday around 10am. The pancakes were rather small and anemic looking. The mangos on top did not appear to be fresh cut and looked slimy and brown. The rancheros were not served over chips as advertised, but placed separately on the side. Very watery as well. I think that's why they put the handful of chips on the side lol. Sent it all back. Claire's continues to disappoint with lack of attention to detail or care in quality.

Yelp
Great food, great service! We met Claire and she went above and beyond for our daughter with celiac. Thanks for a great breakfast! Will definitely return when passing through CT.

Yelp
Around breakfast-brunch on the weekends, Claire's typically has a long line but the workers are patient and kind. While some of their desserts taste gluten free / vegan, some are not noticeable. Their chocolate cupcake tastes like a normal cupcake to me, as well as their carrot cake. But their cookies and scones typically taste more plain, or "vegan-ish" The quiche was good, but nothing I would order again. I would though recommend their coffee, especially their seasonal drinks which tend to be impressive.

Yelp
The baked goods are phenomenal--they're crispy on the outside and dense in the best way possible. The cupcakes are crave-able, I love them. The service was unfortunate. They have no prices on their baked goods and the cashier seemed annoyed when we asked the price of one good. Then, she told me my total was $6 for a scone, so I said actually can I have a muffin then, and she got so angry. It took her 2 seconds to fix, but she was so upset that she didn't even talk to me for the rest of the transaction. I'm not a challenging/entitled customer I just wanted to know the cost of an item. They need to put prices on their goods if they don't want people to ask how much they cost. The ambiance is alright, aside from the casual elitism.

Yelp
This is an updated review from about a year ago. I've been here a few times since the pandemic. They closed the shop for a while to clean and reorganize and it shows. Everything looks cleaner and easier to navigate. The menu, while still mind-boggling, is much easier to read. Tables are set up distanced but I've only taken out. There is one way in and another out at this time. I posted pictures of the items I've purchased recently, a Spicy Buffalo Burrito and a Fire Island Sandwich. The. burrito was excellent-had it for two meals. The sandwich was sparsely populated, but good. The side couscous salad was delicious. The counter was full of baked goods. There's usually not much left when I go but there have been an abundance lately. Everything is good so you can't go wrong.

Yelp
I have never eaten and a place with nicer staff. They were so kind and patient when explaining the menu. We have two very picky kids, and they thoroughly enjoyed grilled cheese and American burger. Our daughter didn't know it was a Vegetarian burger until we told her and she loved it. Very relaxed and chill atmosphere. Definitely check out Claire's!

Yelp
We arrived at 7:45pm, received our food at 8:15pm, and they turned the lights down on us at 8:40pm. We ordered a burger, nachos, and two burritos. All the food was COLD. Worse than that, the service was very UNFRIENDLY. I really wanted to like this place, but our experience was very disappointing.

Yelp
Claire's desserts are my fave. Shout out for the carrot cake with creamed cheese frosting and the Lithuanian coffee cake. So very good!
