Top Philly Farmers’ Markets and Outdoor Food Shopping | Eater Philly

"The farmers market at Clark Park (open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) has been a longstanding beacon of the community with over two decades of history. Here, you can find fresh produce and goods from Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania, including organic fruit and vegetables, treats and beverages from local small businesses like Pound Cake Heaven and Nilaa Coffee, and fresh seafood and meats from Otolith Sustainable Seafoods and Landisdale Farms." - George Banks-Weston

Where to Eat, Drink, and Snack in West Philly: A Local’s Guide - Eater Philly

"This is such a nice Saturday thing to do. It brings so many people from everywhere because West Philly is pretty big — it’s not just a few blocks. It’s a place that I like to visit, just to buy a few things for my house and then hang out in the park." - Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme

Thee best farmers market I’ve ever experienced in a long time —- if ever!! Great diversity of food and hand crafted products even vintage wear. The vibe and energy of the vendors is personable knowledgeable. …I could go on and on. Just do your self a favor and stop by. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!! 💛

Google
An excellent farmers market that takes place every Saturday from 10-2. There is always a great selection off fresh produce, flowers, and more! During the summer stalls and tables lines a majority of Clark Park and make for a great day for cute shopping and fresh food. Its so friendly and always finding something new!

Google
Always a happy place to go on Saturday mornings!! Great produce, nice food, sometimes nice vintage clothes stand, and always wonderful atmosphere!

Google
It is a great place for fresh veggies and flowers, with a few other vendors sprinkled in. It can make for a pleasant, leisurely family or friends outing

Google
The market was really okay, everyone was nice and kind, the products were delicious, but sometimes a bit pricey for me. The park itself seemed to be neglected though.

Google
Wonderful market community and opportunity to support local growers, bakers, and artisans! A very important part of my week to stock up on veggies + mushrooms and more. Eat with the seasons! Bring your own bag!

Yelp
Lovely neighborhood park in West Philly. I love getting my apples here every week from Hands on Earth! Delicious and crisp apples for $2.50/lb! The flowers are also beautiful here! Open every Saturday morning until ~3PM!

Yelp
My current favorite farmers market. This is a great place to get fresh fruits, veggies, and meat as well as a number of other home made and fresh foods. My go to spot is the apple farm as they always have a nice selection of fresh apples, apple cider, and even apple cider doughnuts made fresh in front of you. They have a bread stand, pasta, and amish stand as well as many food and knick knack stands that line Chester ave. I would highly recommend a visit on Saturday 10-2!

Yelp
Everything about Clark Park just speaks community. Its a place where all the locals in the area just come together with one common goal and that's to get some fresh produce! You will find fresh produce here at Clark Park Farmer's Market. As I arrived I notice different vendors selling baked goods, veggies, fresh juices, fruits and flowers. I simply used my donated senior vouchers and was able to get a lot of fresh produce all for about 10.00. I came home with a bag full of squash, corn, peppers and tomatoes. Thanks Clark Park for being a staple to my childhood as well as my family and overall a wonderful resource in the Southwest community.

Yelp
Love me a farmers market .. vendors have a variety of baked goods, fresh produce, and speciality items. Some vendors are willing to trade products. EBT is accepted. Always a diverse mix of people here and around the park.

Yelp
We are new to the area and a big farmer's market family. We're glad to see that the Clark Park Farmer's Market was still on in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and were excited to check it out. Firstly, the measures that everyone took to ensure safety were excellent and made us feel comfortable enough to patron. They have plenty of clear social distancing measures marked and all of the vendors were wearing masks and gloves. The bread, baked goods, mushrooms, and flowers had some of the best selections. We will definitely be regulars!
google avatar

Yelp
Breads, sweets, veggies, fruit, flowers, meat, you'll find it all here on Saturdays and Thursdays! The Amish tent is always my favorite, with reasonable prices for baked goods and a few types of vegetables as well. The market is always bustling, with people grabbing the weeks groceries, eating in the park. Sometimes food trucks come out for you to try as well. Can get a little crowded but they usually have some samples, and afterwards you can watch the dogs of Clark Park run around across the street!

Yelp
I can't help but salivate with anticipation every time I come across here. After all not only does it offer anything that I've ever wanted in a Farmer's Market, it offers it 4 blocks away from my house. Coming across that market is easily one of the best treats that West Philly has to offer. you can sink your teeth into fresh apples, pick up the best vegetables possible, or relax in the park with a fresh cup of hot apple cider. I also have to give it up for the baked goods. I've picked up one of the best scones that I have ever had right here. Right now you'll only come across the Market from 10am-2pm since It's going through the winter hours. But since Spring is almost in the air be prepared to see it start showing up a lot more frequently!

Yelp
Heirloom tomatoes, fresh-cut flowers, homemade pies and pastries (including vegan brownies). There is something for everyone. It is a neighborhood gem.
google avatar

Jamaica Y.

Yelp
Minus one star for being so very small. Plus four stars for being practically perfect in every other day. If you are lucky, you may even get to have a delicious breakfast taco from the taco truck that frequents the market. If you are lucky.
google avatar

Cesar S.

Yelp
Love this place!! The vegetables and tomatoes are incredibly sweet. The vendors are honest and proud of their product.

Yelp
Clark Park Farmers Market has a good mix of vendors. Some seem overpriced & some are very reasonable. The Amish vendors are often selling pretty good stuff. I like the Thursday market over the Saturday one -- it doesn't seem as crowded. I got the freshest beets (with greens attached!) here once on a Thursday night.
google avatar

Yelp
Adorable farmers market right near penn's campus. In the summer, there's tons of fresh fruits and veggies. It's lovely for a short visit on a nice day. The market is a pretty decent size compared to some other farmer's markets I've been to in the city. I've had only positive experiences here, and the sellers have been super helpful. I can't wait to give the rest of the stands a try!
google avatar

Deirdre L.

Yelp
Loved everything about this park. Visited it on a Saturday and enjoyed seeing all of the families around that were purchasing the lovely flowers, drinking the different beverages that were sold and sampling the cheeses from a local vendor. Would love to visit this park again.
google avatar

Jacob R.

Yelp
I've been going to this market regularly for the past three summers and it is great neighborhood spot. It's perfect for picking up summer produce and seeing the regulars. In the last year, it seems like the organizers are letting in more prepared food and specialty producers (hard cider distributors, chocolate truffle stands, etc.). These are ok in small quantities, but it's a modest-sized farmers market and it would be a shame to outnumber the produce stands and the local, neighborhood-y feel that makes the market so charming. In the height of summer the balance works, but earlier in the season it leaned a little too "corporate." As for the produce vendors, the berry guys in the middle of the market offer great deals and the best fruit. The stand across from him sells heavenly cantaloupes later in the summer. The mushroom stand is a fun stop. And the Morris Arboretum now has a stand on the far side of the market, which really adds to the neighborhood feel.

Yelp
I wanted to visit the Clark Park Farmer's Market after reading that it was supposedly better selection-wise vs. the markets at Rittenhouse and Fitler. The rumors are true. I don't know if the awesome selection is enough to get me out of bed every Saturday for a 20+ block walk, but it is definitely significantly better than my usual haunts. They had the usual summer stuff -- zucchini in yellow and green for supercheap summer prices, lettuce, herbs, collards, etc. -- but they also had some unusual stuff -- fennel at decent prices, blueberries at awesome prices, black raspberries at prices too expensive for me, etc. In any case, it may not prove to be a weekly excursion, but it's definitely the "cornucopia" of foods, "occasional oddity booth[s]," "stunning" carrots, and delightful looking baked goods I hoped for.

Yelp
Spring has sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where 'dem birdies is? The birds, bees, dogs and everyone else are flocking to the Saturday farmer's market at Clark Park in West Philadelphia. Clark Park is a million percent less posh than Rittenhouse, and a hundred times more fun. On Saturday mornings the street is a solid line of farmers with produce, cheese, eggs, grass-fed meats, preserves and more. Picked up some stunning carrots, onions, cabbage, youthful romaine lettuce and new potatoes. To the shopper lamenting the lack of tomatoes from the vendors.... you know these are "local" farmers, and we live in Pennsylvania, right? Not a huge farmer's market like the Headhouse weekend confab, but many of the same high-quality vendors. If you care about what you eat, shop at any one of the many local farmer's markets. PA has bountiful farmland and the produce is out of this world- without the heart-attack prices of Whole Foods.
google avatar

Alex X.

Yelp
Southwest Philly When it is warm out you will find a cool setup of vendors at Clark Park located right next to the old Philadelphia College of Pharmacy/USP. It is fun to browse on weekends. Maybe Saturdays I think they are there. Be sure to come support the local businesses!

Yelp
I want to like this place, but the prices here are way too high. I cannot in good faith give this place more than two stars because it would cause me to incur a major cost-of-living increase if I made this place my primary food source. I grew up in Lancaster, PA, and we regularly shop at the central market there, where the prices are significantly lower than a typical supermarket, and the produce is significantly fresher. I also have lived in Newark, Delaware, where there is a market that's not exactly farmer-direct, but has outstanding selection and prices. In Cleveland, Ohio, I also regularly shopped at a large market that had very reasonable prices. I know what things cost. This place gets the fresher thing down, but the selection is really not great, and prices are much more expensive than items of comparable quality at the supermarket. It's even more expensive than overpriced places like whole foods. The only places I've seen higher-priced Farmer's markets have been in wealthier parts of New England where the cost-of-living is higher. Nice idea, but poorly executed. Sorry, but not all west Philly residents are ultra-rich. If you want to actually serve the community, you need to make at least some options that are affordable to people of average income and wealth. My recommendations? I think the best value for produce in this neighborhood can be found in the African markets; the selection is heavy on root vegetables, but what they carry is priced fairly and tends to be pretty fresh. For anything else, you really need to travel further. I recommend the reading terminal market.

Yelp
The magnificent farmer's market at Clark Park is almost in full swing again this April. The Swiss chard, root veggies, lettuces, and mushrooms are the creme of the crop. The Amish stand at the corner of 43rd and Baltimore keep me full of breads, pies, and the most wonderful whoppie pies (especially the two oatmeal cookie kind). And how about the remora known as food trucks and carts that gather round (not to mention the occasional Uhuru flea market)? Don't they just add to the fantastic presence? Soon it will be time for crates and crates of fresh tomatoes, peaches and apples. How I long for thee, oh heart of the growing season.

Yelp
A Saturday morning spent at the Clark Park Farmers Market always feels wonderful. I'm getting out of bed before noon, getting exercise and fresh air, hanging out with people, and purchasing healthy food while supporting local businesses!! Need I say more? A wider selection of products to choose from might be nice... but I'm still not complaining. See ya there soon!
google avatar

Schuyler L.

Yelp
The Saturday morning and Wednesday afternoon farmers' market in Cark Park is somewhat of a West Philly ritual for some. Unfortunately for me, I'm not all that impressed. It doesn't help that the park has been fenced off lately. As a genuine upstate New Yorker, I've been to Amish farmer's markets. The accents are real, but the prices are too high and selection too sparse. Sweet potatoes were the most obscure produce and a gallon of cider cost upwards of $6. However! If I could rate people watching or diversity... the Clark Park Farmers' Market might gain a few stars! Bring your baby strollers, bring your dogs, do your thing!

Yelp
We live near the Italian Market, but decided to venture out to University City, go for a walk with the dog, and check out a new market. This is a great area to walk around in, the people are much friendlier, and the Italians were replaced by the Amish! I thought that the variety of food was a little lacking, the prices were much higher than I'm used to, and there weren't many options for prepared food. I tried the Amish jar of green bean salad, which is very good, but I'm not sure about $3.50 for a pint. They still never fail to impress with Whoopie Pies. The meat and dairy products offered at the other stands were outrageously priced, but I did decide to go with some buffalo pickled eggs from a very nice guy down at the end. They're very interesting and have a nice subtle taste. I would definitely recommend these. The dog bowl portion of the park was a disappointment, because there was mass hysteria with kids and soccer practice, so the dogs were not allowed down there to play. All-in-all, it's a fun early afternoon place to walk around, but not a destination spot that I would frequent on a weekly basis.
google avatar

Lenny Z.

Yelp
Clark Park farmer's Market is on the small side, but they have some very good stuff. All the vendors are super nice. I have to admit, I love the cultural feel of chatting with the Amish. Not really sure why. Maybe it's just that I enjoy looking different, but acting alike. I usually get some kind of baked goods. I really like cookies and these moon pies, soooo good, from one of the stands. They have some good looking vegetables, but I usually leave that to be bought at a less pricely supermarket.
google avatar

Holly Q.

Yelp
Clark Park and University City just feel like a whole different world to me - its just not a part of the city I've ever been really really exposed to, being a Temple-ite and an Art Museum person - but this is totally worth getting out of bed on a Saturday morning. Everything you've heard about the selection is true. And it's year round, which is awesome. It has none of the slight snobbery that you come across at Rittenhouse and Filter square, and all of the produce, cheese, eggs, grass-fed meats, preserves and more.
google avatar

Brendan O.

Yelp
My favorite farmer's market in Philly. Not nearly as over-priced as Rittenhouse or Headhouse or even Piazza, but with a broad selection of vendors. This market certainly feels more "genuine" than any market in Center City. My only complaint is that it's not open on Sundays, which would be nice.
google avatar

Angel W.

Yelp
Very early in the season, so hopefully it gets bigger, but everything was great. Bought way too much great food from all of the vendors.
google avatar

E B.

Yelp
Perhaps it is eary in the season yet, but the only way I could love the Clark Park Farmer's Market more than I do now is if it were bigger. The farmers are friendly and more than willing to help us processed city-folk undertsand how to eat, prepare or care for the various plants, baked goods, harvestable or dairy products available. Shoutout: I bought the most beautiful bouquet of flowers I've ever seen here.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
The lemon bars are amazing. But the woopie pies take the lead!! Pumpkin, chocolate with peanut butter cream filling, oatmeal without the raisin!!!! The true mvps!
google avatar

Jackie C.

Yelp
High quality stuff with a range of toxicity (regular to organic), local dairy, meat and eggs, baked goods, a very cool produce stand run by high school students who bike in with their produce on trailers and sell their stuff for amazing prices, and tons of other vendors with veggies and seasonal fruits. Note: the Amish stuff is not organic. The local West Phillians come out of the woodwork for this one, with kids, dogs, bikes, and esoteric t-shirts. Try asking the sellers how to store & prepare their wares, it's fun and interesting.
google avatar

Micah M.

Yelp
Ok, so I know the Clark Park Farmer's Market is fantastic. It really is. But it only gets 3 stars because of how small it is. I'm sorry to snob it up on ya'll but I went to Portland, OR and went to their Farmer's Market. and it kills this one hard. Literally at least 10x the size of this one. Also, free sample tray in front of all the vendors. Philly: We need to step it up this Summer. Make the Farmer's market make Portland jealous since Portland DOES NOT rule the way Philly does.
google avatar

Lan G.

Yelp
We stopped by there Saturday morning. Not many vendors yet but you can get a large variety of food already. I saw lovely green onions, asparagus, radish, mushrooms, and a LOT of herbs. It's definitely a good place to check out if you are looking to grow your own herb garden. They also have some bakery goods there. I am looking forwards to going back there as spring/summer vegetables are in season.
google avatar

Mortimer S.

Yelp
If I could I'd give an extra half star because in my opinion this is the best farmers market in town, while still falling short of my high standards for farmers market perfection. Some things are expensive but I think prices are competitive for the area and I've found some lovely things here, most notably the amazing black raspberries and rainier cherries I picked up on my last visit. I also found tatsoi, a bok choy variety I'd previously only seen at headhouse so that was a small thrill and it thankfully makes headhouse more irrelevant. All the bases are covered with dairy (including raw milk if you're into that), meats, baked goods and even some lentils/grains. I'd still like to see more there, especially in the way of animal products, and having a few coffee/brunch vendors wouldn't hurt either.
google avatar

Nina J.

Yelp
I love this farmer's market so much! I go for the Amish apples, which are some of the BEST I've ever had. Once you try them, you won't want anything else! Other things to buy here: duck eggs, smoked ham hocks, bean soup mix, lemon bars - these are my favorites! I really enjoy being able to visit this market all year round - even if it's not a full market, it's great to still buy local. I will keep coming back here as long as I live in west philly :)

Catherine F.

Yelp
Oh Clark Park Farmer's Market, let me count the ways I adore thee... Well, actually, there is one thing that alone would warrant this 5 star high-five. And that is the dude offering up delicious baked treats. these tasty morsels are not of the nasty, kinda-shiny-for-no-explicable-reason, tasteless baked goods you are likely to encounter in less auspicious surroundings. no, this carrot/pumpkin/zucchini bread will make Saturday mornings worth living, regardless of how rough you may be feeling after Friday night. Clark Park Farmer's Market, you the bee's knees.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
I can't believe that i have not reviewed one of my favorite places in the city yet. The Clark Park Farmer's Market is a veritable cornucopia of delicious food. Run all year round, it makes eating seasonally easy and not too hard on the wallet. Slow-rise bakery is a favorite stand - their breads are delicious, and just thinking of their four-seed cookie makes me salivate. The Amish (i think) couple sells $1 whoopie pies which make great hangover food, and of course, all the vegetable stands are overflowing with beautiful produce. Had a fight with your significant other? There is a great flower stand in the summer at the CP Farmer's market! There is also a lady with honey, jams, spices, and dried beans. Very reasonably priced farm fresh eggs are sold as well. Take a bag and go shopping next Saturday at clark park. it will be delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I love and support farmers markets and Clark Park's is the best I've found in Philly. The one caviat is that it can be pricey. Why is that? When we buy directly from local farmers, we aren't paying to have things shipped from California and there's no middle man making a profit. So why is organic produce so much cheaper at the co-op up the street? Farmers, please weigh in here. I love and support farmers markets and Clark Park's is the best I've found in Philly.
google avatar

Olivia R.

Yelp
This is a nice farmer's market, but the selections are generally kind of limited to standard produce. The prices are cheaper than other farmer's markets in the area though, which is nice. They also take food stamps which helps to promote healthy eating in lower income households. The nice thing is that the Saturday markets (10-2) are year round and the Thursday ones (3-7) last for a long time. The best buy here in my opinion is the apple cider. The flowers are also beautiful. If you are looking for fresh fruits and vegetables, this is a great place to get them and support local farming.
google avatar

Alisha M.

Yelp
This is a neat little spot right next to where I live. Clark Park is great for dog walking or chilling out on a nice sunny day and gets lively on Saturdays. Apparently this market is open year round 10-2 on Saturdays. It's fairly small, but offers fresh flowers (waste of money), breads, sweets, candles, herbs, plants, fruits, veggies, and an occasional oddity booth. There's not much here but a good smattering, and I am guessing the offerings switch up often. A few good deals are to be had, but for the most part it's higher priced than the grocer down the street, but much of the food is organic, pesticide free etc. I did buy the worlds most delicious raisin bread though, definitely getting some next week. Gets 4 stars for being cool and close and year round, but not five because it could be better.
google avatar

Di P.

Yelp
It's been almost two years since my last review so I feel inclined to update it and reiterate how much I enjoy this market. The Thursday market still has it's Amish smoked chicken and ribs (the smell alone entices you to buy) as well lots of fun energy from the Rebel Gardeners (young peeps, I think mostly high schoolers who tend to a chemical-free garden right here in Philly). This Thursday market is open till Thanksgiving and I find that I can get my fruits and veggies a little cheaper here on Thursdays. What I think has really evolved over my years of coming here is the Saturday Market at Clark Park. There is still plenty of seasonal fresh fruits and veggies available with a beautiful array of flowers like zinnias and sunflowers. You can also purchase more interesting meat items like bison and ox tail which is super fun. In addition, there has been a lot of fun prepared foods from vendors who use local ingredients. The sandwiches at yumtown food truck are a decadently wonderful way to kick start you Saturday (think pulled pork, meatloaf sandwiches, etc). And we are always excited when Lil' pop shop comes around with flavors like Cherry Lambic. The Clark Park atmosphere, above all, is unbeatable. Relaxed, carefree, filled with people who care to support their local farms and are invested in purchasing local mostly chemical-free fruits and veggies. Don't forget-- for those with Access Cards, the market welcomes you!
google avatar

Callan W.

Yelp
The selection here is great and there is plenty of parking around Clark Park as opposed to Rittenhouse. The baked goods are yum! Homemade whoopie pies are worth the trip alone! There is even a table for fresh cut flowers....fresh herbs and honey....there are so many things... It is definitely the best farmers market around. Totally worth the trip.

Catherine C.

Yelp
Had a great time here especially because there happened to be a flea market at the same time! Plenty of variety and it was a good size too.
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
Came here today and although the produce seemed fresher than at Reading or Rittenhouse on a typical weekend, the prices were higher, not only for the organic stuff, I feel like. The mushrooms (portabello, white, shiitake) were all amazing at the Amish market and there were tons of apples. The organic stand had an amazing assortment of greens but way overpriced. I got some spaghetti squash and broccoli, which were great. Paid $3 for 1/2 lb of arugula and the same for spinach that was really fresh and beautifully green!
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
What a nice way to spend a Saturday morning. I bought a homemade pie for $6 and listened to some people play the guitar in the park. Good selection, even in winter.
google avatar

Elisha C.

Yelp
What would I do without the Clark Park Market? Not only is it the best place in this part of the city to get fresh produce (not to mention baked goods, which are one of my greatest weaknesses) but it's a great place to run into anyone and everyone you know. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than catching up with friends over fresh fruit and herbs (or whoopie pies, whichever).
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
Every weekend, a variety of farmers, vendors, and locals converge on the 43rd side of Clark Park for what I believe to be one of the city's better Farmer's Markets. Even better, this market is year round! In the summer months, the market is at its best, with stands selling everything from Mushrooms (flavorful crimini, and jumbo portobello), fresh cut flowers (big, colorful blooms of hydrangeas, sunflowers and snapdragons make a very nice bouquet), fresh herbs in pots for growing (fresh basil grown in the sun on my own balcony is far better than anything I've had anywhere else, hands down), chocolates (hand made with elaborate decorations and fancy flavors), and then there's the produce. Long tables with pints upon pints of fresh blueberries, strawberries, cherries, string beans, cucumbers, squash, juicy beefsteak tomatoes, apricots, and peaches. During the winter, these are replaced with every type of apple imaginable, ciders, kale and preserves of every summer crop you could think of. Year round there is also bread (Slow Rise Bakery makes an amazing baguette loaf which is essential french bread in loaf form), pastries, the famous Amish Whoopie pies (sweetened whipped cream between two crisp oatmeal or pumpkin cookies!), homemade fruit pies, and organic pork cuts, cheese, goat milk, grass-fed beef cuts, eggs and homemade yogurt. Every Saturday, I am one of those converging locals. This market has something for every palette. More importantly, the produce is fresh and organic, and far tastier than anything you'd ever find at a grocery store. If you like to cook fresh and in season like I do, then the Farmer's Market at Clark Park is worth every single trip. Definitely a five stars!
google avatar

Ab C.

Yelp
Yay -- a farmer's market in Clark Park! Boo -- getting more expensive and "specialty," as opposed to staples, by the weekend, it seems.
google avatar

Frank L C.

Yelp
Excellent selection of fresh vegetables, with a fine bread stand on Saturdays and a couple of good food trucks on Thursdays. We love the Mushroom Man, Margerum's, and the bakery best of all.
google avatar

Arwin T.

Yelp
I love this farmers' market! There's a large variety of foods, including meats and preprepared things like cakes (and grilled chicken on Thursdays during the summer!) Several CSAs also drop off here.

James C.

Yelp
Every Thursday and Saturday, Clark Park converts itself into an open-air market. Local meat, cheese, chocolate, veggies, fruit, baked goods, flowers, live musicians and adorable dogs, it's a literal cornucopia. Perhaps the best way to taste the flavor (literally and figuratively) of the neighborhood, everyone wanders through, buys their produce, and nods to each other. Particularly fun during the once a month Spring-to-Fall flea markets that happen once a month (look for flyers on the telephone poles around the park for the dates). Additionally, most farms here offer ownership shares, which allow you to buy (at discount) a percentage of their harvest each week. Sure, University City is still trying to be Ithaca, NY, and they usually fail. On Thursdays and Saturdays, however, this market helps get the place somewhat, kinda, sorta, respectably close.

Tatiana T.

Yelp
The key to enjoying something is knowing what it is...and what it isn't. There are usually two reasons to go to a farmer's market: the ability to get fresh food at reasonable prices, and the ability to get items you can't get from a regular store. When it comes to produce, Clark Park's market fails on both counts. Want conventionally grown green leaf lettuce? They have it...just like the Fresh Grocer. Want something hard to find like Mizune? Eh, no. However, if you're looking for affordable and varied meat, dairy/eggs, and baked goods? This market WINS on both counts. Which, given the heavy presence of Amish/Mennonite farmers, shouldn't be any surprise. And, the market is also a "happening." Vendors, pedestrians, kids. Its alot of fun. Bottom line: as an "outing" and for things the Amish are known for, this is the place to be. For affordable and varied fruits and veggies? Not so much.
