21 Standout LGBTQIA+-Owned Restaurants & Gay Bars In London

"Trailblazers of the London vegan scene, Club Mexicana is a solid bet for tacos, burritos, and tequila-infused cocktails. The Mexican-inspired restaurant is splashed with pops of colour, reminiscent of the Progress Pride flag, and the atmosphere is set to fun. The menu serves fresh plant-based takes on many classics—be sure to try the short ‘rib’ taco. They have locations in Brixton, Kingly Court, and Spitalfields, making it a perfect place to grab a bite before exploring the nightlife in Soho or Shoreditch. Or come for the weekend brunch menu before hitting Brick Lane. " - rachel rumbol

Where To Eat Along The Pride Parade - London - The Infatuation

"Do you need a little rest? If the answer is no, move along. Run wild into the night, we salute you. But if you’re scrolling this guide while performing the classic monologue “my back hurts” then Club Mexicana is a great place to sit, refuel, and eat vegan tacos. A Mexican restaurant in Kingly Court, the pleasantly buzzing atmosphere is still lively enough that you won’t feel like your day is coming to an abrupt end. And it’ll also offer you the opportunity to drink enough frozen margaritas to make you feel like you could meet up with your mates on Dean Street after all. " - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Sinead Cranna

Plant Based Fast Food in London | London’s Best Vegan Burgers | Eater London

"Vegan Mexican food is more than just another blow to Tex Mex’s increasing irrelevance in a city that finally has a found some form on the Mexican food front. At market venues, enjoy Club Mexicana’s tofu “fish” tacos, black bean nachos and pulled BBQ-sweet jackfruit burritos." - Sophie Wilkinson

Chomped at this little gem at the weekend. I’d give it 3.5 stars but obviously Google doesn’t allow it so down to 3 we go. Firstly a beer and a cocktail. Now I understand everywhere in London has to make money etc, so things have to Be slightly more expensive. But when I’m paying £6.50 for a can of beer that probably cost at most £1, I’m instantly saddened. Sharer plates loaded nachos - 5/5. Easily the best vegan nachos I’ve ever consumed. The cheese didn’t have that weird superglue texture some vegan cheeses have and honestly these were great. Shawarma burrito - 3.5/5. Tasty and very filling, the seitan gets a bit sickly for me but still a decent burrito Tacos - 4/5 all 3 highly approved by the boss. Slightly annoying it’s 3 for £13.50 if you get all the same type but it is what it is. Another venue where a cushion on a chair is frowned upon like an applause on an airplane landing. It baffles me restaurants don’t care about comfort. Another heinous act of having the 12.5% service charge automatically on the bill. Total Nonsense purely designed to make you feel awkward by asking to take it off. I would recommend if you’re vegan looking to try something you haven’t had before but otherwise probably not.

Staff were really nice but the food itself wasn't as good as I had hoped, although it was good to try some different vegan food. We had the buffalo mushroom tacos which was nice although a bit oily, the rib tacos and the buffalo chick'n burrito which was just ok for me. Also we had asked for no jalapenos and all the dishes still came with it unfortunately.

Stunning. Second time I’ve been to a Club Mexicana. First time at Kingly Court. Small inside seating but we were happy to sit at the bar. Great to see the chefs at work. We had the loaded nachos, the cheese is amazing, lots of guacamole and chilli portion size great for two sharing. We then got three of the short rib and three mushroom. The short rib I have had before and is amazing, texture is insane but the pickled onions are such a welcome addition The mushroom the waiter told us is new. The sour cream was fabulous but that crispy mushroom! Omg I’m still thinking about it. We had a frozen spicy margarita, stunning. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great price point. Fun music and vibe. Toilets are upstairs in kingly court; get a fob from the restaurant.

Very popular restaurant, it took a while to get a table, we waited about 30 minutes or so. But the food is amazing, you really have to try it. We ordered different tapas and they were all great! I especially liked BBQ Short "Rib" (amazing!), but also Al Pastor, Baja To-Fish tasted great. It really is a matter of taste. My partner liked the Cheezeburger the best. You can't make a bad choice here. Everything is vegan and delicious! The ambience is so cute, pink. Staff very warm and friendly 🌱
