Club Paris

Really cool old school steakhouse experience in downtown Anchorage. I went there with four other guys while on a ski trip at Alyeska. Definitely worth the drive. My filet was perfect and went great with the loaded baked potato. I also ordered a side of the Chef’s sautéed mushrooms topped with Monterey Jack cheese. Those were very rich so next time I would just get the regular sautéed mushrooms.

My wife and I went to club Paris for a impromptu lunch date. Upon entering we were met with a line of people waiting. The restaurant was packed full on a Friday. Because we had plenty of time on our hands we decided we would go ahead and wait. It's lucky that we did because the weight was less than 15 minutes and we were sat and ready to order within minutes after that. I am one of the lunch specials a Alaska king crab melt with a side of fries. My wife had the lunch special of quiche Lorraine. It took a little while for the food to come out and our server was on top of the kitchen asking where was one of the items that she was missing for our meal. I think realizing their mistake the kitchen immediately dished up a plate of the quiche for my wife. My wife of course had some of my fries and some of my melt. Surprisingly she didn't offer me any of her quiche. I'm just now realizing this a day later that I got swindled. Anyways we both thoroughly enjoyed our food and enjoy the atmosphere. The service was outstanding the server was very attentive. My glass of water never got empty. She was always right on top of any of our needs. We were pleasantly surprised when the bill came out lunch was $32 and of course we added a tip. We were comparing it to a restaurant across the street, Sullivan's. The same meal at Sullivan's would have easily cost us over $100. And it would have been nowhere as tasty as what we had at club Paris. If you haven't been to club Paris I highly recommend it. We will definitely be going back for more impromptu lunch dates.

My husband and I didn't have reservations but we were lucky that there were seats available at the bar. We got that escargot, Halibut and New York strip (both were good but the Halibut was definitely our favorite!! ). It was nice and quiet in there which was nice.

Club Paris is a true Anchorage classic and absolutely lives up to its reputation. The atmosphere is warm, timeless, and full of character—perfect for a special night out. Service was attentive and professional, which made the entire dining experience even better. If you’re looking for an upscale, old-school steakhouse experience in Anchorage, this place is a must.

Excellent atmosphere and drinks with subpar food. Steaks had no flavor except for pepper which they were coated in, same with the french onion soup. I was told the crab legs were good. Mixed drinks were also fantastic. Would come again for drinks and maybe an appetizer but unfortunately Texas Roadhouse makes a better steak for a quarter of the price.

Like a dinner. The booths are really old. Your China is on the table. Our waiter was great. He just moved back to Anchorage and was very helpful. The meat quality was just ok. Over rated restaurant. The clams were cooked so long they had no flavor.

Steve, bartender, was very attentive. Husband ordered the prime rib end cut and claimed it was incredible. I had the teriyaki chicken and found it delightful. Carrot cake was delicious. Our first Steak House in Anchorage. We tried all of the sides, the rib eye, filet mignon and crab legs. Here is our rating. Crab Legs - 10/10 - very good but very expensive. A pound of them set us back $170 Filet Mignon - 9/10- it was delicious and we had it stuffed with Blue Cheese. Cooked perfectly. Why a 9/10- because the filet just wasn’t a great cut. Most likely not prime beef. Rib Eye- 7/10 - Cooked a little heavy on one side- a lower quality rib eye- but still good. Steak Fries - 7/10 - good fries, nothing spectacular Rice Pilaf - 10/10 - AMAZING- enough said. Baked Potato- 9/10- gold potato-the toppings were good but cheese sauce was a little much Overall thus was a good place to eat. A little over priced, and a little slow due to them being extremely busy. The staff was AWESOME! Very good service and the waitress was hustling around the whole time. What could make this place better? IMO they need to either increase staff or reduce customers. The chefs and staff being overloaded took away from the quality of the meal. They need to use better quality meat (this might be something that is harder and more expensive to get in Alaska-my first time here so I only have the lower 48 steak houses to compare it to). Final thoughts- for a meal, with no alcohol drinks, that cost $365 before tax it was a little below average, and I would expect much more back home, even at a nice place in Lake Tahoe (overpriced). It was good food and amazing staff.

Round 2: I love the burgers here! The environment is a little dark for those that can't see well in dimly lit areas, but if you can feel a fork to your mouth you shouldn't need eyes anyways. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. There is a decor on the walls to peruse if you have time before the food makes it to your table. They will do you a lettuce wrap if your not into tasty buns at the moment as well. Thanks Club Paris see ya again soon I hope.

Amazing quality and atmosphere! As you walk into a NY City supper club type place, you can almost picture the old time monsters sitting at a corner booth. So much character and charm! I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately! I opted for the filet mignon and man oh man this did not disappoint! It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and it melted in your mouth! So much flavor! Starting off with the homemade roll was just the ticket. It's served warm and damn I could've had 10 of those guys! The loaded baked potato was cooked perfectly and fluffed just right! All in all, highly impressed!

Went there last night and was very disappointed. I was planning on getting king crab, but not at $175/lb. The website said $45/lb. I settled for a lobster tail for $78 that was the most tasteless lobster I have ever had. The baked potato was so cold it couldn't melt butter. The green salad was OK and the best part of the meal. My GF got the small filet mignon. Nicely cooked, but with no sauce. The offered a gorgonzola sauce (she hates blue cheese) or A1. Her onion soup and rice were decent. Since when have steaks been "market price"? For $160 it was the worst meal I have had. Better off going to Red Lobster, or better yet, try Orso if you come to Anchorage.

I dined at the bar on Monday and must say that I am extremely disappointed in the food! The caesar salad was overwhelmingly garlic and anchovy heavy (it took me 24 hours and multiple tooth brushes to finally get the taste out of my mouth) and the poached halibut was the worst I've ever had. Bone dry with no salt or flavor. Just cooked to death and bland. For $50!?! Seriously!?! Do better! I wanted to have the prime rib but it was out of stock. The bread was good, although we had to ask for it. Cool ambiance and good service but the food is terrible.

You can't miss the Club Paris neon sign when you're in downtown Anchorage. The restaurant has been around since 1967 and it definitely shows its age -- and that's part of its charm, and the inside hasn't changed much since then. It's very dark inside, to the point where we had to use our phone flashlight to read the menu. The only reservation we got was at 8:30 PM reservation on a Tuesday, and upon arriving, our server let us know the kitchen closes at 9 PM, so we had to order fairly quickly. Definitely make reservations because the restaurant is always full. We started with the fried mushrooms appetizer, which were huge and stuffed with an andouille sausage and bread stuffing which tasted ok but super filling. For our main course, we shared the filet with Alaskan king crab ($165 market price). The entree came with a salad and bread. The steak was cooked perfectly and was a good quality cut, but the crab was disappointing -- it didn't taste very fresh and had a mushy texture. For what we paid we were mostly displeased with the crab. Service was good overall, and the staff was friendly and attentive. However, for the price, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. I'm glad we tried it for our first trip to Anchorage, but I don't think we'd return. The steak was solid, but not memorable enough to justify the cost.

The worst seating service and rude staff. I will never step foot in this place again and Ive been going there longer than the rude wait staff have been alive. Definitely a changing of the guard in the worst way. I was told to leave and I responded that I will never be back +

This place is classic, quirky and the food is top quality. Reservations are made via telephone and open Monday morning at 9 AM for the week. It looked like plenty of people sit at the bar and have their meal there. The servers all seem to have individual personalities. The food is very good. My fresh Alaskan halibut was amazing. We saw crab legs go by a few times and they were huge. My companion had a steak that was very good. Also, we shared Key Lime pie that had a great crust. Plus the filling was not too sweet, perfect tartness. Be aware...Anchorage has a new law: anybody who orders a drink, will be carded. I was with an 87-year-old and they were not served as they did not have an ID on them.

If you don't know about this place, you are missing out. Wine menu kills. Get a big red, French onion soup, and 8 oz. filet at the bar if you are by yourself. Share the bottle and make friends. If you want a table call promptly at 3pm and leave a message. Otherwise, prepare to wait. It is worth it. Inside is classic steakhouse. Wood panel, black and white photos on the walls, carpet that makes a frat house floor look and smell like marble tile. Don't miss it!

I had an amazing meal during a work trip last week. I sat at the bar, which was full of locals. I ordered a glass of wine and the petite filet. My filet was cooked to perfection and was one of the best filets I've had in my entire life. I almost went back, but made myself eat halibut at other restaurants the rest of the week, since it's hard to find in restaurants in the lower 48. :) Overall, this is a must visit to try a wonderful local restaurant in town. Note that it does fill up, so reservations are recommended! I felt lucky to snag a bar seat!

First time coming here for lunch and I order the daily special burger which was a jalapeño bacon burger with fries for $17 - which for downtown Anchorage seems like a good value. I'm on a mission to find the best burgers in Anchorage and this is going to rank towards the top. The burger is made from filet mignon trimmings and the flavor was noticeably better than your typical burger. What made it for me was the garlic aioli. The steak fries were delicious too! Service was neither here nor there, but I can say I got sat quickly and served quickly. Quite dark in the restaurant which isn't my favorite vibe but there are some windows you can sit by for more light. Maybe one day I'll actually splurge on a dinner here...

I'm so sad. We returned this year with our Alaska family and were really disappointed. The table was better this year but the food quality and service went way downhill in comparison to our visit last year. I was dreaming of last years halibut, so moist and flaky. I order the same this year and it was dry and hard around the edges. My husband didn't get to eat with the rest of his table because from what we can decipher after the dinner was said and done was that the steaks for the table got messed up. We as a table felt like our waitress really didn't want to deal with our big table. I will sum up my return visit y saying that there was nothing extraordinary this time around and needless to say we won't return.

If you're looking for an old-school, dark, and traditional steakhouse vibe, Club Paris definitely fits the bill. It has that classic feel with a menu to match--think standard cuts of steak, baked potatoes, fries, and simple salads. I ordered the ribeye with a baked potato and a side of fried prawns. Everything was just okay. The steak could've used more seasoning to bring out the flavor, and the prawn batter wasn't as crispy as I expected. For dessert, I tried the sweet potato dish, which had potential--but the drizzle of Hershey's chocolate really overwhelmed the flavor and hurt the overall presentation. Overall, it's a nostalgic spot with a straightforward menu, but the execution left a bit to be desired. Probably better for those who love that classic steakhouse atmosphere more than for the food itself.

- filet was amazing - you can get it filled with 8oz - crab is great - halibut sticks are dope! they were the second highlight after the filet - lobster is alright i should have just gotten the 14oz filet, instead of 8oz filet and lobster -cheesecakes is thick, it taste's like another cheesecake - loved the soundtarck - i loved the dark dim environment, it gave an old school appeal

Club P is the spot if you are looking for Steak or anything of the sort! We came in and had the special with some onion soup and it was all deliciously. Soup was very tasty and the tenderloins were cook to perfection. I also got a side of shrimp which was delicious but it was $11 for 3 shrimp so not sure if I'd do it again. The ambiance was perfect for date night so definitely come check this place out! I hear they also have very good burgers and service for lunch!

The food was good, came here with a group of friends. It was suggested to us by some of our local friends. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered the steamed clams and ate the bread and butter. It hit the spot. My friends ordered a lot of different things...mostly steak...and they enjoyed their meal. I forgot to take pictures...too much going on at the table!

The service was so bad. The server would reach across the table and held wine glass at the rim. The steak was over cooked from what we asked for. Two of the orders. The rice was over seasoned...salty. The meal and service was not worth the price.

The food and atmosphere are amazing. It looks like a little hole in the wall place in anchorage, but I highly recommend it. My wife and I had the petit filet 8oz. It came with a side. I had rice and my wife a baked potato. It was literally 4 inches thick and cooked to perfection with a nice char on the outside.

Founded in 1947, this is a great old school steak house with a great neon sign out front! Walking in, smallish resto with a large bar.. you want to sit at the bar. Although they take walk-ins, I would make a reso as I heard the hostess tell many people seeking tables that they don't have anything until 9PM... In Anchorage that's like Midnight so plan accordingly! Great menu with many appetizers and main entrees such as Prime Rib or Filet Mignon.. do NOT get the chicken. I had a Filet with blue cheese stuffing and it was excellent char grilled to a perfect medium rare! They also have a great dessert menu and everything is homemade they said.. another rarity in Alaska. Service was good & met a few locals at the bar that were very nice! Must try in Anchorage/ Talk Later

Character is ten stars. Part dive bar. Part amazing steakhouse. It's unassuming in front of house but bliss in back of house. Very difficult to get into. Why would you go? Steaks and cocktails. Club Paris in my opinion rivals some of the better steak houses in the lower 48. Don't be worried about the dive bar feel. It's an amazing place. Call for a reservation as they don't do it on line.

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this was a place rich in tradition. Even on a Wednesday lunch, the restaurant was packed, but the service remained top-notch. Despite being incredibly busy, our server made sure we were taken care of as soon as possible, and the food arrived impressively fast. I ordered the lunch special filet mignon burger (medium rare), and wow--this was the best burger I've ever had! The patty was huge, unbelievably soft, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I finished it right away because it was just that delicious. At only $17, the quality and portion size made it an incredible value. If you love steakhouse classics and unforgettable burgers, Club Paris is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back!

This place is located in the quaint downtown of Alaska. The staff here are hard working, busy yet attentive. This establishment is really homely. Dinning here was enjoyable and felt like a true local experience. I ordered the ribeye and house made mash and my partner order the fried fish. Everything was great. Would definitely recommend.

Got desserts as take-out. And yes the ice cream pie made it the 7min walk back to the hotel. Both were 10/10 good. 100% desserts here.

We came here on the recommendation of a few locals. I was surprised how hard it was to get a reservation on different nights, but we made it on our last night by sitting at the bar. It has a classic, old school feel to it. We both got steaks and baked potatoes which were cooked to perfection. I see now why it's so popular.

Horrible food Steak too done. Appetizer greasy Prawns greasy. Would not go back Told the waiter. Did nothing to make it right. $175. Was not worth it!

Excellent chicken ceaser salad! The chicken is cooked perfectly. The dressing is delicious. Great service!

Finally, I can happily say, I have tried Club Paris. It met my expectations! An Alaskan style steakhouse with hearty portions, attentive service and unpretentious atmosphere. I got the scallops and swapped out the licorice sauce for the orange sauce, as recommended by a close friend of mine. I'm glad I did! The stuffed mushrooms were flavorful and nearly too filling with the mini loaf of bread that was given to the table. I definitely should have passed on the clams, they were very plain and didn't do much for me. I would go back for the scallops and mini loaf of bread. Only!

Had set reservations and was seated immediately Great service very attentive to drink refills ordered salads Caesar and green salad both great portions the steaks well seasoned and tender rice is in point and potato brought home. Pretty busy which speaks to how well the community enjoys being able to come on in! Great for intimate setting or a great time with friends. Recommend for a good time and great steak!

Always great services, with the amazing staff. Food on point, we enjoy drinks & apps. For appetizers I recommend shrimp cocktail, zucchini with a side of cheese sauce (very good ranch that comes with it) & shrimp cocktail. Dinner filet is always good but the ribeye is my favorite. Summer time make reservations always it's very touristy. Winter you can get lucky calling on day you want reservations as long as your not picky about time. Been a favorite of mine since I was very young going to dinner with my parents.

This is the classy-est "dive bar" ever! The food, service and setting is amazing, we loved it. Guaranteed you've never had a burger this good, anywhere. Also best Halibut fish & chips Ive ever had and I have had plenty. This will be a destination for me anytime I am in Anchorage.

Good place for steak, but side dishes are lacking. The salad looked like it was poured out of a bag - not fresh. The fully loaded potato was drenched in what tasted like nacho cheese sauce- also out of a bag. Ambiance-wise...the outside looks newer, but inside could use an update. First, we were met with a weird smell at the front door that could only be described as bathroom cleaning solution. It might be since the bathroom where right off the waiting area; it was quit overpowering. The booths were claustrophobic! Such a tight fit. And we had a a few big guys in our party. Thankfully, we were moved to a table towards the front. The service was friendly and accommodating. I'd go back for the steak and maybe different side choices - and sit at the bar.

I've been here since 1969. Always great service ! Excellent food. Strong drinks ! Decor is old Alaskan history. When you're ready to treat your self well, this is the place to indulge, so yummy ! ! Tonya Bowen- Piaskowski

I think for value this may be the place to be. While there is no disco dancing at Club Paris, your stomach will be happy with the food. You go here to eat steak. My steak was of good quality, seasoned well and was a huge thing of meat. Service was good, the servers are slightly quirky and may not have fine dining skills, but were fun. There was something cool about the ambiance very much like an old school restaurant your grandfather may have enjoyed but nostalgically cool today.

Great service and pretty good food. Definitely not the best steak I've had in Anchorage but it's still a top contender. The fresh bread was incredible, fluffy, and hot. It would have been a step better if they had their own whipped butter instead of handing you a bowl of butter tabs like an every day diner. The combo appetizer platter was my favorite and everything was delicious! Espresso martini was rum based and also hit the spot!

Stopped in for dinner while in Anchorage...Yelp has this as one of the top steakhouses in the area. I ordered their house suggested petite filet stuffed with blue cheese and a baked potato side. The steak was nice and cooked perfect to my requested temp. I did find the blue cheese a bit overpowering...not sure I would order it that way again but glad I have it a try. The potato was also done well -- soft and flavorful. Price is reasonable for a steak dinner. Overall grade:

Visiting Anchorage and came here on the recommendation of a local. I was solo so I sat at the bar. Super friendly service and very helpful guidance from the bartender (and a local sitting next to me) helped solidify my choices. The escargot was garlicky, buttery perfection (though I think the bread was a little stale- but soaked up the juices just fine- I was in it for the escargot anyway...). I was torn with so many great entree options on the menu, but went with their signature filet (petit, since I was solo and not ready to take down 14-16oz of steak, lol). Seafood, combo, and some specials all looked like great options for a future visit if I end up back here.... But my meal was delicious- cooked to perfection and no frills to distract from the lovely cut of meat. Had to skip dessert. Wine was reasonably priced as were cocktails. Ambiance is historic and this is a local favorite and town landmark. Would definitely come back!

I feel as though the hype on this place did not live up to my first experience here. The steak was mad expensive and i honestly feel like i cook and season steak better at home. My steak was cooked medium well when i asked for medium. I didnt complain or send it back because i was already waiting 40 mins for my food and i was starving. Also, that cheese they put on the baked potato tastes like velveeta and its gross

Club Paris is my to go for steaks in Anchorage. My son Made a reservation for a birthday dinner. I had the 8oz filet with loaded baked potato. My Son had the 8oz. Filet with lobster tail. Look at the size of that lobster. No "slipper lobster"here. It was huge and meaty. Also had the escargot appetizer, and a small dinner salad. As always, Club Paris hit it out of the park. P.S. had the macadamia pie for dessert and it was delicious too.

There is nothing ever bad about going to Club Paris. The staff is amazing . I will recommend making a reservation. Need to do it the Monday of the week you are going to go. .

We enjoyed a couple of their lunch specials on a weekday. The inside lighting is a bit dark and hard to read the menu unless you are seated in the front by the windows. The food was delicious, a burger and perfect tots with plus a steak sandwich that the meat was marinated in carne asada sauce with steak fries. So good!!

Best to have a reservation if not, dinner is probably after 9pm! To make a reservation, you can only call that week (or 7 days out?). Didn't have the legendary blue cheese stuffed steak so ordered 2 entrees instead (we finished both, no shame!) The table bread reminded me of a croissant in loaf form... Buttery and light, I still added butter because.. Why else would the waitress bring it to the table?! The chef special is tenderloin medallions and came with soup/salad and side (steak fries, rice pilaf or baked potatoes). We got steak fries and french onion soup. Soup was salty (in a good way) and cheesy and just yum. I wasn't a fan on the steak fries just because it reminded me more of potato wedges than fries. Medallions was tender and juicy but I don't prefer the sauce... My partner thought it was great. I happily chowed down my 16oz NY steak, medium and true to what everyone else said, they mean medium and it was juicy and tender... Along with some seared fat, wow! It came on a sizzling plate and went down satisfying! Surprisingly not as overly stuffed as I thought I would be, but I opted for water and no dessert (dessert would've been nice but I didn't have room for that). Thought about getting a drink but their menu only listed beer, white/red wines, local cider and a long list of liquor. I know the bartender probably could've made anything I wanted but I was hoping for a mixed drink list for inspiration. Decor... Looked nice but we were sat in this "booth" that's tucked away/make shift so it took away from the experience and ambiance. Good experience but I don't feel the need to come back again

After not going for years, we went to celebrate my birthday. The bleu cheese stuffed filet was as good as I remembered. The onion ring appetizer was also good. The decor/ambiance hadn't changed, which is part of the charm.

1000/10 better than Sullivan steak house. Everything was perfect. Fast service. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Had our 7th anniversary there and couldn't be happier with everything

Very good chili. Always professional waitstaff. The decor and ambiance are old school. Always an enjoyable meal. Of course steaks are great, but the ground filet is my go to lunch with steak fries.

Food was amazing! Service was spot on! The atmosphere is older because it's been there for a very long time and hasn't changed much, which I very much like! We will be returning for sure!
