The Ride-Along Report: First Takes From Last Night’s Dinner

"What It Is: A Caribbean-themed cocktail bar attached to Pearl’s in Williamsburg Perfect For: Drinks and A Light Bite, First/Early-In-The-Game Dates To get to Clyde’s, you walk through Pearl’s (a Caribbean restaurant in Williamsburg) and go through the doorway with hanging beads next to the kitchen. There you’ll find a narrow bar serving Caribbean-ish cocktails, and a food menu identical to Pearl’s. We tried a few rum-based drinks and ordered some food, and the whole experience really just made us wish we were having these things in Pearl’s backyard in the middle of summer. The Verdict: The outdoor area is the real selling point of Pearl’s, and unless you’re a huge Major Lazer fan (Clyde’s is part-owned by one of the DJs), we probably wouldn’t come to Clyde’s just for the drinks." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, chris stang, matt tervooren

17 Top Tropical NYC Restaurants and Bars - Eater NY

"Clyde’s is a compact, atmospheric rum bar, owned by the team behind local comfort food spots Sweet Chick and Pop’s. Plus, it’s partly owned by Major Lazer’s Christopher Leacock, a.k.a. Jillionaire — the bar is an ode to his native Trinidad, with a soundtrack of soca, dancehall, and reggae music. Next door is Pearl’s, a Trinidadian restaurant, and behind the two venues, there’s a backyard patio with pastel chairs and picnic tables, reserved for Pearl’s diners when it’s busy but open to Clyde’s customers when it’s not. Try the strong punch bowls or rum flights with a group, and there’s a small menu of Trinidadian bar snacks to sample, too." - Alexandra Ilyashov, Carla Vianna

Clyde’s Review - Williamsburg - New York - The Infatuation

"Clyde’s is a cocktail bar that you enter through a doorway in Pearl’s, a Caribbean restaurant in Williamsburg. The narrow space has a small bar and some candlelit tables and Caribbean cocktails, in addition to food from Pearl’s, like jerk ribs and curry goat. It works for a low-key drink just off Bedford Ave or while you wait for a table at Pearl’s." - Matt Tervooren

The conjoined bar at the back of Pearls! Very awesome Tropical cocktails, if you just wanna grab some drinks & you have full access to the food at Pearls!

Rose the bartender made this a great stop after our brunch next door at pearls. There's a full bar, but we were intrigued by the $5 infused rum specials. The decor is warm and cozy, it was quite quiet for a Sunday afternoon, my party had the place ourselves. See pics

This place is great! Went here with my fiancée to catch up with an old friend. Cozy, good hip hop on play. Some of the best cocktails I’ve had. Tobago Sour and TNT were my favorites of the night. Bartender was fantastic- very attentive to orders, very good at orchestrating the space. Will be back!

I always have a great time when I hit up Clyde's...Keino and Cyllan are two really dope bartenders...The music is good and food from Pearl's is really good...You hit up Clyde's you feel like family, it's that simple.

Like a Trinidadian speakeasy alongside Pearl's. Good food and great cocktails only compliment the island vibe and decor.
