21 Incredible Pastry Destinations and Bakeries in Los Angeles

"Coin De Rue is an escape. This is the place to meander back and forth and wonder if one can consume squid ink salt bread, milk cake, cheesecake, sesame buns, Hokkaido cake, green onion pesto garlic cream cheese bread, or cookies all in one sitting. Head upstairs and look out the massive window to watch the bustling pace of Koreatown while taking a bite." - Eater Staff

The 25 Best Bakeries In LA

" A visit to Coin De Rue in Koreatown can go several ways, from grabbing a to-go box of yuzu sponge cakes and red bean sweet rolls to lounging with an iced dalgona coffee and eating said box of pastries. The odds of the second scenario increase if you order this Korean bakery's masterpiece: the green onion pesto loaf. This gigantic scored bread looks like a garlic knot fell into a vat of radioactive waste and mutated into the Hulk version of itself. It serves four people easily, with melted cheese, scallions, pesto oozing out of every crevice, and pomegranate seeds adding surprise bursts of sweetness. If you order this monster, bring friends—or a good book—because you'll be here a while. " - brant cox, sylvio martins, arden shore, nikko duren

Our Favorite Bakeries In The Country Right Now

"LOS ANGELES Sweets like yuzu sponge cakes and red bean sweet rolls are easy to box up and take home at Coin De Rue in LA, but you’re more likely to house those pastries inside while nursing a dalgona coffee. This Korean bakery’s calling card is the green onion pesto loaf, a gigantic scored bread that looks like a garlic knot fell into a vat of radioactive waste and mutated into the Hulk version of itself. It serves four people easily, with melted cheese, scallions, pesto oozing out of every crevice, and pomegranate seeds adding surprise bursts of sweetness. You’ll want to carve out some time (and bring some friends) to best enjoy this gargantuan masterpiece. " - anne cruz

It was to Hot today, and I went and had their shaved ice. I got the "Injulmi Bingsoo" very refreshing, they have an outside sitting area I definitely recommend it. I love this bakery. I ordered cakes from them for a birthday, and everyone loved them.

This is our first try coming to Coin de Rue, which is a bakery and café in Koreatown Los Angeles. It’s really good and you could see that the bakery items are nice and fresh and the coffee items are also sweet and caffeinated. The staff is very friendly. We tried the flatten croissant and they gave us some whipped cream with it and that was very tasty and chewy. Overall, we give it a big thumbs up and if you’re in the area we recommend you stop by and get a snack. Let the falcon fly.

Ok, it’s hard to sum up all the good things I’ve found here : the bakeries are over the top : perfection on every level (bake, taste,…), sucré and salé very rich in taste, and as a french person I can assure that the « croissant biscuit » is something France could be definitely jealous ! The coffees (hot Caffé latte) are also made with a real coup de main. The employees are super nice, attentive, thanks again to the whole staff !! it’s an address you got to try if you’re looking for upper class café and bakery in L.A. Parole de français !

My wife heard a new bakery in Korea town so we decided to find out and try. Not much left when we arrived in the afternoon. Most of them that were still available we have never seen them. Very interesting. Macha and Blueberry Crunch were not our favorite. They were like flavored donuts. But the big one with green onions was good. It was called Green Onion something and $8 each. And we saw some other stuff we would like to give a try next time.

I passed by this bakery a few weeks ago and saw so many people enjoying what it offered. It must have been their grand opening weekend. I went in yesterday and picked up a few items, chestnut with red beans was delightful… it also has pine nuts, mochi, and a special aroma almost like passion fruit. Very interesting and dense bread. Something you would share with a friend over coffee. Also, the onion pesto baked bread was delicious. It is toasty and crispy on the outside and soft and moist inside. One bite and the sweet and salty comes together very nicely. They have very beautiful cakes. Will try them the next time I drive down. I would recommend this new bakery who wants something new and different than what you would find in other Asian bakeries.

Cute cafe with nice outdoor patio and fun looking treats/snacks but this review is really for the CAKES! Gorgeous, fresh, delicious celebration cakes! They also do very cute cupcakes with nice light cake and whipped cream (rather than American-style heavy sugary cake and heavy sugary buttercream). This layered rainbow cake with strawberries and fresh whipped cream brought a wow factor to my daughter's birthday party. The picture doesn't really do it justice and it tasted as lovely as it looked. I look forward to trying their other items and cakes.

Best Korean bakery in Ktown’s. Has unique twists on classics such as the cream + sweet bean buns covered in black sesame seeds, injolmi, or purple yam. Savory pastries with shrimp, crispy flattened croissants, etc

Hands down the best bakery in LA ! The BEST gourmet bakery in Koreatown. Just opened last year, this is the place to buy most trendy breads from Korea (a lot of the ones you see on instagram) Tried their most popular breads like *Mammoth bread 맘모스빵 - cranberry jam and fresh cream sandwiched in between huge Soboro breads (separate layers of sweet potato and red bean paste within the breads) so many ingredients yet amazingly not overly sweet - YUM ! *Green Onion Bread 대파빵 - savory and delicious, crunchy outside and soft inside. The cake I had for my birthday is Mango Blueberry Cake, not too sweet (like Paris Baguette), it was very delicious and fresh. Very milky & delish fresh cream - the cream tasted most similar to one I had in Yamazaki Bakery in Little Tokyo Japan Town. Some popular menus get sold out fast, so call up the store for pre-ordering or ask for the availability. Parking space available outside & underground as well. Every bread and cakes in store looks so good, I would like to try every single one of them if I can 😂 Patio area available for seating - nice place to grab your coffee or tea to go The seating outside was full when I went around 2pm. To owner: Thank you for the delicious breads, I’ll definitely visit often.
