"Now situated on the east side of Detroit, Cøllect Beer Bar sits within an arts hub developed by the folks behind the Library Street Collective and features a lineup of nine beers on tap, a selection of wine, ciders, non-alcoholic beverages, and pours of Four Roses bourbon. In addition to offering beer on tap, the bar also offers Gatorade on draft. With a basketball hoop placed in the center of space, visitors can shoot some hoops, while sipping beers, and then have access to much-needed electrolytes." - Serena Maria Daniels
"Originally opened in 2018 by Kyle and Lea Hunt, the beer bar relocated from Eastern Market after its lease ended and is preparing to reopen at 9301 Kercheval Avenue inside Lantern, a 22,300-square-foot former commercial bakery and arts hub developed by the team behind the Library Street Collective. Occupying about 1,400 square feet of the site, the minimalist space—part of a redesign by OMA—features skylighting, a basketball hoop, two large doors that open to a sprawling outdoor courtyard, and seating for roughly 50 inside (including 10 at the bar and tables for groups up to eight) plus 40 courtyard seats to blur the line between inside and outside in warmer months. The drink program focuses on hard-to-find brews with nine beers on tap, along with wine, ciders, nonalcoholic options, pours of Four Roses bourbon, and the playful addition of Gatorade on draft for electrolyte seekers; during the transition, staff worked across the Hunts' other spots (Two Birds, Huddle, and Easy Peasy). The team hopes to open soon pending confirmation that the liquor license has been transferred." - Serena Maria Daniels
"The sister beer bar situated above Bunny Bunny, Cøllect also closed but has plans to relocate to the east side." - Serena Maria Daniels
"Cøllect has a laid-back rooftop patio above Bunny Bunny on Gratiot Avenue. The deck is filled with picnic tables, making it a nice, casual spot to watch the sunset while sipping one of the beer bar’s nine rotating drafts or enjoying a glass of wine." - Serena Maria Daniels
"Much like that friend of yours who randomly got really into Scandinavian design, Gather keeps things very minimal. It’s a small restaurant at Eastern Market with a short menu, four long communal tables, and almost no decorations to speak of. Also like that same friend, there isn’t much rhyme or reason to the food here, but everything from the roasted root vegetables to the smoked chicken nachos and gnocchi is really good. Come here with a small group to split some plates and have a few boozy slushies." - sara barron, sam faye
