Beautiful,. And for those on Food Stamps, this and other markets will match buck for buck every SNAP dollar. Go with 100., end up with 200 to spend at the farmers markets5. Plus nice volunteers.

Amazing! Took my daughter and picked up dinner for the family.. One stop was Ramen and Tacos! Hella good!

Google
Love the market. Good food. Friendly staff and vendors. Dog friendly

It's started up again and it's always a great place to buy fruits, vegetables, breads, cookies and best of all beautiful flowers. It's every Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm. It's always a great experience and every thing is from local places in Washington. It's great to buy from actual farmers and growers you can taste the difference. The whole experience is like a big party

Google
Lots of good local produce and always very active, but I feel in recent years it has become less diverse. They don't have much variety in bakeries/baked products compared to other farmer's markets. The best time to come is when Fall starts, and you get so many pumpkins from all the different stands!

Google
Went to Columbia City Farmers market for the first time a week ago. The setup, vibe, and people both customers and vendors were awesome. Found good deals on produce and fresh pastries here!

Kit Goldsworthy

Google
This is my favorite farmer's market! It doesn't have as many vendors as some other markets, but picnicking with all of my neighbors in Columbia Park just feels my heart with joy. If you do not like children, this is not the farmer's market for you.

Britt Clark

This small market has a great selection of fresh fruits and veggies as well as fish, lamb, fresh eggs, flowers, and a bunch of pop up restaurants. Lots of people with their dogs and kids, which makes for a great time.

Yelp
I finally had a chance to visit the Farmer's market (for the second time...lol) and really enjoyed the produce selection. So much variety and delicious items. I couldn't help getting every free sample. And the prices are good. Fresh local organic fruits and vegetables, delicious local products like pasta, bread, and cheese, all bought straight from the source. What's not to love? Produce is always very fresh and people are very helpful and friendly. Most of the vendors accept WIC Farmer Market Checks. Definitely better than picking up fruits & veggies at your local Safeway. You can buy a sunflower by the stem for $1/each! Again, just make sure you rush home and put it in a vase with water because it's been in the sun all day. When I get home, I'm happy and I barely put a dent my wallet. But I have all the ingredients I need to cook wholesome healthy meals for the days ahead. I come here every Wednesday to pick up fresh fruits and veggies for the week. Vendors are very kind and welcoming. *Bring reusable bags. As for bags, the vendors have them, but if you want to make a great impression on them and on the environment -- bring your own. *Farmers Market is now accepting SNAP / EBT (Food stamps) and get them DOUBLED! *Eat fresh and shop local at Columbia Farmer's Market! The market is held every Wednesday until October 12, 2016 from 3 to 7 pm... *And it is near light rail and on major bus lines!

Yelp
Reviewing for: experience Location: easy to get to and located down Edmunds street in columbia city. You can walk to it from light rail station or you can access it from 7 and 9 busses. Parking is challenging because it's in the middle of the neighborhood. Food: my favorite stand is the fresh mozzarella stand! The cheese that they bring is AMAZING. I also appreciate that it's both a market and food trucks/stands are available. Space: it's the perfect size for the community- it's about 2-3 blocks long and is a nice activity for after work! Tips: Freshbucks! (i don't know if that's what it's called exactly but essentially you can flip your SNAP benefits into double dollars to spend at the market!) Overall Experience: 5

Yelp
Love the farmers market! I wish they weren't only open on Wednesday's but I'll take what I can get. You have so many different stands; fruit, jewelry, art etc it's great. They also have the BEST flowers. It's easy to find, definitely recommend taking the light rail (5 min walk from station) parking is terrible.

Yelp
Wow, the Farmer's Market in Columbia City has changed a lot. Years ago, in the rare opportunity I was off from work on time on a Wed, the market was only a handful of produce and locally-made cheese booths. Now it takes up almost two blocks! The markets have several of the same businesses representing, whether in West Seattle, Capitol Hill, or Ballard. There's a convenience factor to go to CC because of proximity, but there's also ample parking since the market is off of Rainier and connected to many side streets! That alone is a huge advantage compared to the other Farmer's Markets to me. Inexpensive, organic, local produce. I always walk around first and mentally note which places have the best-looking offerings coupled with price before buying produce. There are bakery booths such as Columbia City Bakery, Honest Biscuit, and D-Floured (gluten-free!) I had a slice of strawberry-pistachio cake and it was really good; a little dry, but with Hayden's strawberries, you can really taste the fruit! There's meats, cheese, jams--all kinds of good stuff: http://www.seattlefarmersmarkets.org/vendors/columbia-city-farmers-market-vendor-list-for-2008 My favorite thing I ate was at the food booth, "Tandoozy." A giant piece of charred, delicious naan is covered with lentils, chicken, chutney, rice like a colorful mosaic...it's so beautiful you almost don't want to eat it! Almost. [They] have a port-a-potty at the market, which is great, but I'm bummed that they only have one picnic table for people to eat. If it's sunny, then the grass is fine, but when it's damp... Regardless, check out CC's humble little Farmer's Market--it runs on Wednesdays, May 1 - Oct 16th from 3pm - 7pm!

Yelp
The Columbia City Farmers Market is one of my top places in Seattle. It feels like all that is right with the city. This is one of the larger farmers markets around and is filled with people, vendors, and treats. The market is ideal for people watching - you'll see every type of person imaginable - lesbian couples with babies, politicians looking for votes, yuppies, immigrants, people on food stamps, teachers, and people from neighborhoods all over SE Seattle. It is truly a mixing place for the community. There are a million things to buy at the farmer market - specialties include: * poultry, eggs, and meat (the most amazing hamburger patties - ever), * sashimi quality tuna (I make my own sushi every Wednesday during farmers market season), * starter plants in every variety, * the freshest fruits and veggies (many picked that morning), * cheese, * fancy yummy mushrooms, * bread, * flowers! * and so much more! There is always so much to see and do. There are activities for kids, samples at almost every booth, and some of the best people watching around. Plus you just feel great buying directly from the farmers and supporting local agriculture! Its nice to do your shopping in the sunshine!

Yelp
Great place to go solo or bring a friend/group/kids. They offer more than just fruits and veggies.. Hot food, ice cream, wine beer, etc... I ended up getting a Seattle Pop (chocolate banana) it was very good! Although the banana was at the end, there should have been more banana... I also go the ginger beer (raspberry flavor) it was very good. a bit on the tangy side with a bit of spice, but still good. I will be going back to get a bottle of it because I feel like it would mix REALLY GOOD with liquor... ;) Also if you buy a big bottle and bring it back you can get a refill and they will take 8$ of the original price! That is a good deal. I love me a good wine and saw 3 different wine places. the cider place caught my eye (mainly because they were giving free samples) I tried some and I was very impressed!! I got the ROckridge Orchards Hard apple cider. Wow, tasted real good and it was warm! Cant wait to have this at night with some food. I also got a salmon slider which was also good. it was a bit pricey being 4.50 for just 1 slider, but it was tasty. I got the jalopeno slaw salmon burger. This is definitely a great place to get a bit to eat, chill out and enjoy outside and be around people. I am so glad its only 3 blocks from my house!

Yelp
It's great to have this in the neighborhood! I used to go to the Queen Anne Farmer's Market all the time and this is quite different. A lot more produce and a variety of things where as there was more food at the QA one. It's right off of Rainier and in the park behind the library. I do wish there was more food trucks. However I DO love that there's Rachel's Ginger Beer! You can bring the bottle back and get $5 off when you refill.

Carrie L. B.

Yelp
Columbia City Farmers' Market, I love you. Once a week, from May to October, you offer my daughter donut muffins and donut peaches and all the running wild with a pocketful of cash and a gang of her peers she can possibly gorge on in one afternoon. You sweet thing, you take me on honeymoon every Wednesday. I just always wonder, my beloved Columbia City Farmers' Market, where the hell did you put the shade?

Alanna M.

Yelp
What a nice Farmer's Market! I expected it to be scarce, but it was pretty complete with tons of veggie and fruit stands (as expected), baked goods, grass fed beef, fresh caught fish, organic ice cream and hot foods. You could totally get the full meal deal here. If I didn't already have a fridge full of STUFF I wanted to purchase a little bit of everything. Next time... I noticed a couple of SPD patrolling. Nothing to be alarmed about. Just an observation. Parking in the neighborhood wasn't bad at all.

Becca C.

Yelp
Columbia City is a very diverse neighborhood, and holds one of the finest farmer's markets I've seen. I actually like that there's no one selling jewelry here...that its all just honest to goodness gourmet foodie goods. Even if you're not looking to buy, it's fun to look. The going rate for bunches of flowers is not $10 (like Pike Place) or even $8....every bouquet I saw was $5....and they weren't 'leftover' flowers. Sunflowers, peonies, orchids....all fresh and wonderful! The buskers were playing instruments I've never even seen before, I wish I would've inquired them on their craft. This is a dog-friendly market, and everyone seemed to be very well-behaved. Parking was slightly annoying, but found after circling twice.

Giang H.

Yelp
Great farmer's market with a wide selection of organic produce, flowers, cheese, beverages and food trucks. No craft stands except for a basket vendor. Love that the bouquets are only $5 and huge, live music was available, and the Columbia Park is right there for an easy, shaded place to eat. Bring your picnic blanket, grocery bag, cash, and an appetite. Street parking can get crowded, but you can find 2 hour parking fairly easily if look 2+ blocks away. I'd recommend the kombucha stand and Sea Breeze farm as standouts.

Margaret S.

Yelp
You know, many of the above reviews "Pike Place is a tourist trap!" and "farmer's markets are filled with hippee yuppies" are probably something these people heard someone else say, and they are just repeating it because they think it's the 'cool' stand to take. Two things: Pike Place Market is a gift. No other city has anything like this, and like it or not, the tourists help support the market and keep it up and running 7 days a week all year long. Think about who buys what. Locals buy the produce and fresh fish in the market. Tourists buy the other stuff, and maybe have some smoked salmon shipped home. Both are necessary to keep this thing alive, and believe me, you wouldn't like what replaces the market if it goes away. Columbia City Farmer's Market is one of the best in town, along with the University Farmer's Market. I particularly love this one as it has my favorite vendors with the added bonus of the Columbia City Bakery (which I always walk down the street to as well) It is the best bakery in the city, and this is one of the best FM in the city as well.

Vince V.

Yelp
This local farmer's market had a selection of: Organic Produce, cheese, flowers, honey, kumbucha, corn on the cob, frozen pea soup, frozen fish, ice cream - pretty small, but I'd support it. It was interesting to see such diversity of people shopping, which is the beauty of Columbia City. Would be excellent to see a more diverse variety of vendors selling more items, but it's great for small, locally grown produce.

Kat D.

Yelp
One of my favorite things about living in Columbia City is the farmers market is the weekly market in the summer! It's not overcrowded with tourists and there are tons of delightful goodies to choose from. Some of my favorite offerings include: $5 flower bouquets, goat cheese, baked goods, and of course tons of fruit and veggie stands! In true Seattle fashion, the market even has clipboard people for you to try to avoid on your way in and/or out of the market :)

Vik M.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood farmers market! I am a big fan. There is fresh produce and dairy products from local farms and artisan products like cheese, ginger beer, pasta, and beer! How cool!!!! There are also a few food trucks/stands that provide market customers with an opportunity to eat a meal while you plan your weekly produce shopping. I really enjoy buying the juicy and plump heirloom tomatoes and funky lilac bell peppers available during the warm summer months. This is a fun market to patron if you have kids since they have kid centered crafts and stands inside a fenced off parking lot! Come visit this farmer's market and shop local. ALSO, The Rainier Beach Farm worked by Seattle Tilth sells their produce here. That is a great organization to support!

Jilli V.

Yelp
This review is a month late since this farmers market ended for the season on October 27th. My husband and I have made this our Wednesday farmers market since we moved to the Beacon Hill neighborhood in 2005 and we love supporting it. We don't go every Wednesday, but certainly when it hits April and when the weather warms up, we know it's time to check out the weekly produce and farm fresh goods as often as we can. Until recently, the Columbia City farmers market has also served as a popular meeting spot for playdates since we've become new parents. The huge grass lawn and park next to the lot is perfect for picnic'ing and park playdates with friends with kids. Our favorite purchases from the farmers market this past summer was a wild sockeye salmon filet and baskets of sweet raspberries. Love the location, day of the week, the neighborhood and nearby merchants. Until next season!

Lydia N.

Yelp
Great farmer's market. It has a great mix of produce, honey, homemade goods etc. It's not too big but you could easily lose track of time here (ok, so we were mostly petting the bunny and kitties in the animal shelter bus). Delicious food too! nom nom!

Lawrence P.

Yelp
What a fantastic market. I've lived here a week and a day (transplanted from NYC) and while this market is not on the scale of the Union Square one in NYC it is far more interesting than any other neighborhood farmers market I've seen. It inspired me to cook three separate meals tonight.

Tonya W.

Yelp
Best thing ever! Just sorry it's not going in winter. (though that makes sense) Fresh berries and cheeses. Plus delicious food stalls.

Seattle Y.

Yelp
I began going to the Columbia City Farmers Market clear back when it started. Rainier cherries, heirloom tomatoes, fresh cheese curds (plain or dill)! So many kinds of wonderful vegetables for stir fry or salad. Since then it has grown and improved...till now. A few years ago I developed severe arthritis; at most I can walk four city blocks before I need to be done and go home. So I quit going, because of course the parking is impossible. But two years ago, I went to drop off a family member to pick some things up, and oh joy! There it was! A designated disabled parking place! Thrilled, I pulled in. (The person behind me, who also had a designated parking tag, was not so lucky). Last year they had slightly changed the way the disabled parking was done, but it was still available, and I always went a little early to be sure to be able to park in time. This year I got there right at the start, and the handicapped parking spaces were gone. I circled in case they'd been moved, but no. Just gone. The one little bright spot in my week. I came back home empty-handed. Next week I will try arriving an hour early and see if I can just read in my car till it's open. Failing that? I guess I can't go now.

Elaina B.

Yelp
I am a junkie for farmers markets, and I love this one. They have great food, and great people there. I love that every time I've gone, they had chefs demonstrating recipes using materials they got there. (I understand this isn't there every time, but I've just been lucky.) The selection of items for sale is very good. You can get most of the stuff you can grab down at Pike Place, but without all the tourists. Right to the west side of the market, is this park that's full of people during the market. There's lots of shade to snack on your goodies, and it's a great spot to enjoy the community.

pete h.

Yelp
This is my second favorite farmers market because of two reasons; (1) close to my parents house and (2) not as packed as the University Farmers Market. Be forewarned though, this is a seasonal farmers market, meaning that they close up shop in the winter, I believe the typical season runs from May to October. Be sure to check the Seattle Farmers Market website before making a trip out here to ensure they are open. It's located next to the Bank of America on Rainier Avenue. They have a nice selection of flowers veggies but the main draw here is when it's cherry/peach season. Fresh Rainier Cherries are to die for when it's available.

Tristen W.

Yelp
My favorite farmers market in seattle so far. I love the venders and getting to walk around its always a treat!

Vanitha S.

Yelp
I came on a Wednesday night for dinner and wow this was one of the best farmers markets I've ever seen! First off Columbia City is a gem and its diversity hands down make it one of the most unique neighborhoods in Seattle. Dinner was a fun family event here where we could choose our own meals and then sit down on the grass to join the rest of the community where everyone was throwing around frisbees, playing with their dogs, socializing, etc. I tried the pupusa cart which was delicious. I got the plantains with cream (don't miss that) and the horchata. My in-laws got the Indian food and raved about the crispy naan which was made in a tandoor oven right there. My sister-in-law got a veggie quesadilla which was made with fresh local veggies and yummy--crispy but teeming with cheese and veggies. You will find yourself smiling at this farmers market no matter what you buy/eat or if you're just strolling around.

Myduyen N.

Yelp
This is a cute farmers market, it reminds me a lot of Pikes Place Market minus the tourists. You can find all kinds of things here but I must say the prices are somewhat pricey. The nice thing is some stands will accept debit card payments so always ask! There is a stand for Rachel's Ginger Beer which they always have small samples of what they have that day and if you like it you have the option of buying some to enjoy right away or buy it to bring home. I like the cheese stands they have but my favorite is the one that has the cheese curds. The cheese curds are just $3 and you get a small container of it. My son loves that stuff! Our family always like to get either corn on a cob or the crepes. I tried the Indian stand but I wasn't a fan of it.

Amy L.

Yelp
I really liked the Columbia City Farmers Market...it was great to see so many locals out. It was nice that it wasn't a tourist trap like Pike Place market and people don't really hassle you. There was a variety of people and types of food being sold (fruits, veggies, flowers, meat). As always...the cherries are great! There were also a lot of people just hanging out on the outskirts enjoying the day!

Ozzy W.

Yelp
Love love love the Columbia City Farmers Market. I can walk from my house. The fresh organic produce and eggs are fabulous. The cheese guy is super friendly and always has several varieties to tempt you. But the best by far is the breads you can sample and buy from the Columbia City Bakery.

Shila B.

Yelp
I've only been to a few Farmer's Markets to be honest, however, this one caught my attention on the way to the record store. My best friend and I were visiting from Vancouver for Bumbershoot and wanted to see what our options for in terms of healthier food before we go in and rock out. There are tons of stalls with good variety. The vendors are awesome, chill and happy.

Jake M.

Yelp
A nice summer farmer's market. This past summer there were three different cheese vendors and Tandoozy, one of my favorite street food vendors! I miss my weekly fresh goat cheese during the winter and am always excited when the market gears up again in late spring.

Kendra F.

Yelp
This is the worst Farmers' Market imaginable. It is where old produce goes to die. At one stand, the kind worker picked out a French melon for me. In the car, I noticed it stunk. At home I picked it up. It was squishy and very rotten. What kind of vendor passes off her rotten produce? COLUMBIA CITY! This is not my first bad experience. I bought a bag of the apricots there only to find them all mushy when I got home. There was not one head of lettuce that was not wilted there. Vendors who bring outstanding produce to the University Market bring rotten crap to Columbia City. They think that because we don't live in Laurelhurst we eat garbage. I will not be returning.

Nate N.

Yelp
I love this market! It's huge and has so many local vendors, fresh fruits and veggies, and friendly people. Also: hooray for Fresh Bucks! You can double your EBT dollars up to $10 here!

Rassamee H.

Yelp
Definitely love being able to walk 4 blocks to get to the C.C. farmer's market. But don't kid yourself, after living in Bellingham and going to their market and then moving to Seattle, I have learned that farmer's markets are not cheap. Plus the whole agricultural crisis doesn't do much good either. My neighbor has suggested you bring at least $60 if you want to buy your produce for a week and she's not joking. I spent almost $40 on a 1/2 flat of berries, 2 lbs. of cherries, 2 cans of smoked salmon, and a bouquet of flowers. However, there have been plenty of times when I walk to the market just to browse and to see who I'll run into, so you don't necessarily have to spend money. My favorite stands include the guy who sells garlic sauce, the new organic fast food place that sells burgers, and any produce or flower stand run by a Latino or Asian family. Also they sometimes have Seattle Youth Garden Works there and you should really go talk with those young people. They are all in high school I believe and work in P-Patches in the city to grow the produce they sell on market day. AWESOME!

Lisa W.

Yelp
First trip to the Columbia City Farmers Market today and it was great! Lots of lovely produce and everyone was SO nice and helpful when I had questions about all the different types of garlic. Did you know that a darker skin means a hotter garlic? Can't wait to try it!

LM H.

Yelp
Love this market. It's small enough that we can get in and out in a few minutes if we're in a rush, but also just the right size when we want to poke around a bit. The park right next to it is great for visiting with our neighbors. It's our Wednesday late afternoon "date" once a week.
