"Comal Oculto is a relative newcomer to the San Miguel Chapultepec colonia, and is a great place to stop before or after hitting up the museums in Bosque de Chapultepec. It's a smaller spot where you’ll sit at communal tables (Oculto actually only has one table that’s set up in the street). But what it lacks in space it more than makes up for in food. The focus is heirloom corn in its many iterations, from wild mushroom sopes to enchiladas ahogadas to lamb shank gorditas. The menu is small and focused, so we can confidently say that it’s impossible to go wrong." - guillaume guevara
"Comal Oculto is a delicious quick lunch spot with a friendly and attentive team." - David Shortell
"On a breezy, tree-lined street in San Miguel Chapultepec, everyone sits shoulder to shoulder at a single communal table stretching the length of two parking spaces. The convivial setting suits this unassuming restaurant, which offers an all-day menu of comforting classics that revolve largely around the comal. A single chef weighs, presses, and griddles everything to order. The gordita especial, packed with chicharron and tender, shredded carnitas, is a favorite. Late night out? Swing for the chilaquiles chamorro with salsa verde and kick it up a notch with the fiery salsa on the table. Other hits include crispy flautas stuffed with melting cheese and a picturesque enmolada covered in a sweet mole poblano. Expect a wait come weekend brunch." - Michelin Inspector
"Comal Oculto is a small but sweet eatery in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood with a menu based on hardy antojitos like flautas, enmoladas, and tlacoyos. The restaurant focuses on breakfast and lunch, so pair your fresh-from-the-comal snacks with hot chocolate or cafe de olla. The flauta ahogada with mole and the bean tlacoyo with avocado leaf are favorites among customers." - Natalia de la Rosa, Daniela Galarza
"Comal Oculto has a lot in common with Mari Gold: they’re both relative newcomers to the San Miguel Chapultepec colonia, located near famous art museums, and are smaller spots where you’ll sit at communal tables (Oculto actually only has one table that’s set up in the street). But what it lacks in space, it more than makes up for in food. The focus is heirloom corn in its many iterations, from wild mushroom sopes to enchiladas ahogadas to lamb shank gorditas. The menu is small and focused, so we can confidently say that it’s impossible to go wrong." - Guillaume Guevara
