LA Coffee Shops Where People Go To Look Cool

"A coffee shop from Berlin? Say less. Even if this Arts District spot served bad coffee (it doesn't), its brutalist aesthetics would make it a destination. A barista wearing something that looks like a cross between a shawl and potato sack will make you a solid latte or americano. An affogato is the most out-there drink you can order here, which is to say the coffee options are pretty standard across the board. If you’re wondering why this place gets busy on the weekends, it’s probably to enjoy a $6 latte in a space that looks like a half-finished construction site. Snap a pic, but don’t plan on staying long—the concrete tables and wooden benches will aggravate your sciatica after a while." - sylvio martins

Concierge Coffee - Review - Arts District - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Concierge Coffee in the Arts District is an edgy coffee shop from Berlin that intentionally looks half-built. The tables are made from stacked cement blocks and the amount of exposed framing and plywood rivals a construction site, which makes for a pretty funny backdrop for people taking photoshoots with their hojicha lattes. All that aside, the coffee here is good. Espresso and matcha drinks are on par with other specialty coffee shops in the area, and similarly priced. Consider Concierge an interesting alternative when a latte at Blue Bottle feels too normie." - Sylvio Martins

Incredible coffee shop with high quality coffee and matcha. Amazing design and atmosphere that makes for a peaceful environment. Right in the heart of arts district. Friendly staff that is very precise.

Google
Found this coffee shop while walking around . It just looked different so we decided to walk in and try something . It has a modern take but it isn’t so comfortable sitting in their chairs . Maybe so you won’t linger for too long . We decided to try the einspanner.. I’ve tried a few of those drinks in other coffee shops. This one is probably my no least favorite . The cream wasn’t very flavorful and the coffee was okay . Great service though and presentation but wouldn’t return . The prices are just too much for something that’s okay . Almost 8 dollars for that drink. !!

Google
I must say, the aesthetic of this coffee shop is quite pleasing. Kudos to the designer! As for the coffee, I sampled the Einspänner, which proved to be quite strong; I couldn't finish it. While I enjoy coffee, this one was exceptionally strong and, combined with the dark chocolate, not to my liking. If I am ever around the area, I will come back to try their other selections of coffee.

Google
What can i say beautiful atmosphere and staff . Loved the cold brew with foam on top i also ended getting a matcha tonic . I recommend this place to any coffee enthusiast . I would rate this establishment 10 stars if possible.

Google
Great coffee shop in Arts District! I got the Einspanner and yuzu matcha tonic. Coffee itself is high quality and espresso drinks are rather unique compared to other hipster coffee shops. Also got a bag of beans and they give you a free espresso shot with the purchase. I really like the architecture of the interior, modern let laid back.

Google
This was such an unexpected experience. We spotted this place accidentally. The flat white was nice. And also the pastries were lovely. We got the ones with beef and bacon, which were gifted by the owner. Love every thing about this experience!

Google
I don't think I had a good experience this morning. Ordered ice latte less ice, the taste is not good tbh, then I receive the full ice and the quality of the ice is bad melted in 3 min and makes the whole drink very light. Ice mocha latte was not good as well, the motcha was was blended at all for my fist cup and request for the second cup didn't mixed well. The barista seems had a bad mood today and just put thing together and doesn't care the mixing and taste. Environment is fine. But for simple drinks like ice latte or mocha latte can't make it good, and use signature drinks with more flavors to attract customer is not a wise idea.

Google
Concierge is a new cafe in Downtown LA. The exterior is clean and minimal and the interior matches that energy. We are matcha lovers so we had to try their matcha and compare it to the others we had in the city and I gotta say it was top tier. I would say the matcha latte I had here was either number one or number two best in the city that I tried that week (I tried about 9). I think this spot is going to be a new must check out on anyone’s list, local or visiting. We also gave the apple pie pastry a try and it was incredible! I definitely recommend giving this spot a try!

Yelp
Went back to check if it's as delicious as I remembered it and... IT WAS! The CORTADO is creamy like melted coffee ice cream (OK, less creamy than that) but it was VERY easy to drink for sure. There are beans on the shelf now -- definitely less embarrassing than asking the cashier if they had any. CONCIERGE COFFEE is less busy on a late Tuesday morning, than on a Saturday afternoon for sure. And yes, the space is as "esthetic" as I recall.

Yelp
Had a meet-up here on a Saturday in December. It's been a while since I've been around DTLA, so Concierge Coffee was new to me. Plenty of free 3 hour street parking around this coffee shop. I usually like cold coffee and the iced saffron latte ($8) seemed pretty unique so I ordered that. I was pleased to find they use real glassware for their drinks (not sure if you have to request it as my mentee's coffee came in a disposable cup). I was bummed that for the price, the latte is rather small and wasn't strong on the coffee. Still, it was nice to try, but I might order another drink next time. A good amount of seating inside. Not a lot of tables and the tables here are more like coffee tables so not the best set-up if you plan to do work here for several hours.

Yelp
While in DTLA I searched for coffee spots on Yelp and this came up. Located in the arts district this coffee shop offers variety of drinks and some pastries. The interiors are very modern, the seating is very uncomfortable. You can't stay here too long. The iced specialty drink I got was very delicious, don't remember the name. The service was friendly and quick. We saw a lot of locals hanging around and talking, probably from nearby apartments.

Yelp
If you love drinking iced coffee drinks all year round like me, this place is PERFECT! Most coffee shops will have iced latte, but lately I've been trying to drink less milk and so glad Concierge offers other iced espresso drinks other than lattes. I tried the iced cortado which really hits the spot! When you want caffeine but just a splash of milk. I was pleasantly surprised to see their offerings including the iced flat white and iced cappuccino- I will absolutely go back and try other drinks. My boyfriend had the matcha latte (hot) and enjoyed it as well. Place might be a bit hard to find if you're driving by too quickly; look out for a white building next to Groundwork's (gray building). Street parking only like most places in Arts District. Came here early on a weekend and was able to find parking fairly quickly.

Yelp
I went to check out this new cafe in arts district and the vibes here were very nice! I loved the ambience and there's a nice courtyard and interesting mirror hallway for you to explore as well. Parking is street parking that can be tough in the area depending what time of day you're coming. In terms of the drinks, I got the Hojicha latte sweetened and with oat milk and my friend got the einspanner. The Hojicha was lovely and super balanced! It's definitely one of the better Hojicha lattes I've had. Meanwhile the einspanner was pretty unsweetened and super strong so definitely wasn't my favorite type of einspanner. Overall I would definitely come back here for the vibes and the Hojicha!

Yelp
Concierge had me hooked from the moment I walked in. Gorgeous aesthetics, effortlessly cool vibes, and a space so polished it felt like the coffee should arrive with a standing ovation. Naturally, I set my expectations high. Spoiler alert: the coffee didn't quite hit the crescendo I was hoping for. We ordered the saffron latte and the einspänner, both of which were perfectly... fine. Decent, drinkable, but lacking that wow factor I was craving. For a place this stylish, I expected the flavors to dance on my palate. Instead, they offered more of a polite nod. The saffron latte hinted at potential with its subtle spice, but didn't quite deliver that bold, luxurious punch. The einspänner? Smooth, yes, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the experience was an intriguing one. The kind of spot where you'll want to linger, soak in the ambiance, and maybe snap a pic for the 'gram. But if you're solely on a quest for mind-blowing coffee, you might want to keep walking. Concierge nails the vibe, but the brew? It's still waiting for its moment in the spotlight.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by here while walking around the Arts District and were captivated by the minimalistic exterior of this coffee shop. I ordered the Einspanner and was pretty underwhelmed with the drink. The coffee was bitter and the cream top was bland. The cup is also pretty pricey for the size. There are some spots to sit inside and I believe there is a courtyard in the back of the coffee shop but we didn't make it back there. TDLR; nice vibes, below average drinks

Yelp
On my continuing hunt for matcha in OC/LA I stumbled across Concierge. The barista was very kind, answering all our questions, I opted for an iced matcha and my friend got a vanilla latte. Both absolutely delicious and we would get again!
google avatar

Juan F.

Yelp
Newest coffee shop in the Arts District. It is a little past Wurstkuche next to the former Pali Wine location. The location itself is very modern and has good vibes. The coffee itself I was not the biggest fan of - but maybe I will come back and try other items.
google avatar

Graciela L.

Yelp
I love the aesthetic & service. I didn't like the saffron coffee but their signature Einspanner was very strong and delicious

Vy N.

Yelp
Saffron latte ($8): 1/5 i got this with oat milk (+50¢) and it was extremely disappointing... it tasted like fabric. There were no notes of espresso whatsoever and tasted quite milk heavy with saffron flavor. It was just a saffron milk tbh Affogato: 1/5. This one tasted like straight vanilla ice cream :/ i could barely taste the espresso. There was no contrasting balance. Good ice cream though service: 3.8/5 service was decent and quick Ambiance: 10/5 super sick!

Yelp
The coffee was so good!! I got an iced vanilla latte half sweet, and their vanilla syrup is housemade. You get the coffee in a nice glass if you get it for there rather than to-go. They accept reusable cups. I give the vanilla latte a 9/10, so good, would recommend. The back area is so dang gorgeous, I could totally see all the fashionable folks going here for pics LOL. The space is just breathtaking!!! So nice to talk and chill and admire the architecture! The arch doorways are dreamy!

Yelp
I visited this café for its ambiance, but sadly, the drinks didn't meet my expectations. I tried an iced chai and a matcha, both of which tasted watered down, light in flavor, and overly milky. The barista mentioned they used ceremonial matcha, but it likely wasn't a high-quality brand. The powder was a muted green and dull, lacking prominent flavor. However, I did appreciate their use of Califia oat milk. What shocked me the most was the $0.50 charge for ice in cold drinks! Paying extra for a cup full of ice is uncommon, and it likely contributed to the watery taste of my drinks. Additionally, they charge $0.50 for milk alternatives, $1 for a syrup flavor, and I believe they will charge extra if your order is made to dine in. On a positive note, there is a charming hidden courtyard tucked in the back of the café. Enter from the cafe or through Avery St & E 3rd. The architecture features clean white walls with rounded, arched windows, creating an open and airy atmosphere. There's umbrellas to provide shade over the seating areas. The design elements are reminiscent of Mediterranean or Southern European styles.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday with the little one and there were four others here. I didn't see outlets but I didn't look too hard but someone was working there. Seating isn't going to be the most comfy as it is very modern but I love the look. The espresso was on the more sour/tart side so if that's what you are into, this is your place. The raspberry croissant was nice and crispy, there is an option to get it toasted but I declined. It definitely is a dessert croissant.
google avatar

Kristine J.

Yelp
Ordered an Almond croissant, only to realize after the fact I received a pistachio one which I'm allergic to. Ended up buying a cheesy corn bread instead....but they didn't even ask or offer to warm it up. It tasted stale and just not appealing. I forced myself to eat it. Yuzu matcha tonic was ok. Wasn't mind blowing. Aesthetics was fine. Sad my experience at this DTLA Berlin inspired cafe was disappointing. Been to Berlin but the food/drinks we had there was much more pleasant!
google avatar

Jenny K.

Yelp
The aesthetic of this place is sooo nice and pretty!! There's a cute patio area outside too and a lot of people brought their dogs which was super cute!! I got matcha latte and it just tasted like milk. So sad I rate it 3/10.
google avatar

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
brilliant ambiance, great natural lighting, contemporary interior, great coffee plenty of seats, outlets, wifi, and staff are friendly
google avatar

Yulissa C.

Yelp
The aesthetic and ambience of this place is what drew me in, it's minimalistic and tasteful. The first time I came here I ordered the Dirty Chai, which was pretty good (I couldn't taste the chai as much) but I ordered a Chai Latte the second time around and I preferred this one much more!
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
New coffee shop in the Arts District?! YES PLEASE! Concierge is sleek, their pastries are well crafted, and coffee is artful. Friendly servers, too!
google avatar

Art A.

Yelp
A Berlin based coffee shop has opened its first U.S. location in the Los Angeles Arts District. The vibe is minimal and sleek. I like the seating style and glass table. Feels like you are not in LA when inside. The espresso is smooth and delicious. I ordered a cortado and also a cup of coffee, black. The coffee is aromatic, hints of fruity tart, very good roast. If you don't drink black coffee, I recommend trying it here first. Not bitter. The staff is cool and friendly. Restrooms are in the back courtyard. Parking in the Arts District can be a bit tricky so keep that in mind when visiting. Overall dope spot that I will be going to on a regular basis.
google avatar

Sesang Y.

Yelp
The americano here was immaculate. It was very smooth and not acidic. The perfect way I like my americano. The place was beautiful and plenty of seating. The parking was a little bit diffcult, but everything was worth it once getting there. The barista was kind And I really wanted to try their affogato, but I'll save that for next time!!
google avatar

Melanie K.

Yelp
A nicely decorated and well-thought-out coffee space in the Arts District area. Concierge has a large coffee menu featuring drinks like Flat Whites (hot AND iced) and affogato's. I am not sure if we came on a bad day but the wait was super long, my partner and I ordered two drinks and it took 30 minutes for them to make it. I understand they just opened, with only three staff members and one barista. However, the coffee tasted like any other coffee shop, and waiting more than 15 minutes for coffee anywhere is insane. At some point, they started turning down customers from placing orders due to overcapacity. Hopefully, with more experience in operating, they'll figure out a more efficient way to serve their customers.
google avatar

Nina Z.

Yelp
a minimal and pet friendly coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. they also serve delicious pastries that pair soo well with their coffee

Yelp
google avatar

Mel G.

Yelp
I had the matcha affogato and it was so delicious! They gave me two scoops of ice cream with very little matcha because it was so strong. I recommend either mixing it or eating it with the ice cream and matcha in your spoon. The staff were quiet but polite. The music and furniture went well together and make a space that you should experience for yourself, go to concierge coffee!
google avatar

Tammy T.

Yelp
Line can get a little long and parking can be tough (walked a block or so) but I thought it was a well made flat white and really enjoyed the seating + ambiance. It is a nice addition to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Melanie F.

Yelp
Coffee on 100% here. Never had a bad cup. Weirdly, this is an awesome place to people watch the LA fashion scene. Idk why, but this place is like catnip to the high fashion crowd. Service is always fast regardless of the almost sleepy energy that the decor and lighting lends.
google avatar

Afton B.

Yelp
When an owner is 100% dedicated to his place, you're going to find the best place. As for coffee in LA, this is the place. All the others are burnt nasty coffee and people just go to drink like they don't know anything about coffee. My husband and I know good coffee and this is the only place we would go. Lovely place.
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
I was very disappointed because I heard about this place and was very excited to go. However, if I were to be honest, the ambiance and the interior was great but everything else was super disappointing... Our drinks were very watered down as well and the hojicha latte was very powdery and weak in flavor. Not only that, the service was not very good either. As soon as I walked in there was no "Hi" or greeting. It was very awkward for us because all the baristas were not friendly. They never even said thank you and I left a bit weirded out because the guy just simply had a weird tone when he said our drinks were ready almost as if he was annoyed... Not sure why the baristas were all in a cranky mood...
google avatar

Shaun J.

Yelp
Fantastic, I really enjoy the Persian Latte. The sweetness and flavor is perfection. The pistachio adds a really lovely touch. I come back often for it because it's just that tasty.
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
Every time I come in here the staff looks miserable unless there talking to each other. Drinks are average and staff is below average
google avatar

Caroline C.

Yelp
Like the interior design but not a fan of the coffee. The Americano is lack of flavor... the Concierge Cream is just okayyy...

Ana R.

Yelp
Got the iced matcha and iced mocha , mmmm iced matcha was not as great, 5/10 I was excited to try it. BUT, the iced mocha was great! I give it a 8/10 had more flavor than the matcha. Great service , very nice.
google avatar

Mora M.

Yelp
Some of the best coffee in the city and the vibes are proper. Aesthetically they care about the micro details and the courtyard seating is also unrivaled. Have met some cool people just lounging and the staff is friendly. Not overhyped I think the people that have been disappointed don't understand that this is a Berlin based company. If you want a dorky vibe there's plenty of other coffee shops.

Steve D.

Yelp
The water tastes like unfiltered tap water, couldn't finish Americano. The espresso is not juicy, but 5 stars for everything else! I would recommend it as a place to take photos in!
google avatar

Sami D.

Yelp
Benjamin and the staff here are lovely. The non-coffee drinks (I can't drink coffee) are the best in the neighborhood. Hot chocolate is not too sweet, chai is spice forward, the black sesame latte is creamy, and the matcha is whipped to perfection. Love this spot in the neighborhood. The design and layout is also cute, they switch up which front window is the door!
google avatar

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
Solid coffee shop from Berlin opened up in arts district! Location is in such a new aesthetic and trendy location. The interior is so minimalistic. I ordered a regular latte and matcha latte, nothing too special about it. Pretty good. They don't have any specialty drinks like cream tops unlike all the other new coffee shops. Would come back :)

Selin B.

Yelp
Coffee is fine. The attitude problem of everyone who works there is not. Looking everyone up and down with a frown must be a requirement for getting hired here. Not to mention: Your employees are a corny representation of what a "Berlin" coffee shop is. Save your $7 and go to Maru instead. The coffee and matcha is also just straight up better. Way too many coffee shops in the area.
google avatar

Jenny B.

Yelp
Latest hype coffee shop of LA. The coffee shop and the courtyard are beautiful and very aesthetic. Got a piccolo, pretty good!
google avatar

Olun R.

Yelp
Smoothest espresso I've ever tasted. So much so that the coffee flavor is lost in the larger drinks, to be honest. Just having an espresso or cortado does it for me.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Coffee was great but I do wish they used better icecream than Breyers for the Conceirge Cream float. I just think it would make a huge difference and probably taste 10 times better. Considering it's a $8+ float, even just haagen dazs icecream would make a huge difference in taste! There's also so many great icecream shops nearby like Salt & Straw and Van Leeuwen I think it could be a great opportunity for a collab:)
google avatar

Betty W.

Yelp
Cute aesthetic, a place to sit and chat with a friend or two. Limited seating and street parking only. Not too loud. Espresso is okay.
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
Concierge is a new cafe in the arts district so I had to come and try. Their drink selections were pretty standard and didn't have anything unique to the place. The ambiance is cute and minimalistic. One thing I personally liked about the iced latte is that the taste ratio of the espresso was more prominent than the milk. Some cafes tend to have lattes where the drink tastes like steamed milk with a few drops of espresso. But if you like lattes with more coffee, I think you'll like the iced latte. Unfortunately, the iced matcha latte was not the best and you can find better matcha latte elsewhere.
google avatar

Seth R.

Yelp
OMG. I never drink the fufu coffee drinks and can't stomach cold brew but it was 99 degrees and the Einspanner is one of the best things I've ever tasted. Spring for a signature drink and enjoy the soothing yet energetic mood and music. Then pop out back into the courtyard for a different view.

Dajra K.

Yelp
Love this coffee shop! The coffee tastes exceptional, the vibe is great, and the baristas are super friendly. If you're looking for a high-quality cup of coffee, this specialty café is the place to go.
google avatar

Cassidy M.

Yelp
great drinks! I got the saffron latte and it was phenomenal, my friend got a dirty chai and really enjoyed it too. Very nice staff and cute interior- will be back :)
google avatar

Aya M.

Yelp
Love. This is one of my absolute favorite spots in the neighborhood to go to. The coffee never misses and their pastries are some of the best I've had on par with gourmet bakeries. Their emphasis on aesthetic perfectionism from their interior design to the music they play makes me feel quite at home here. The baristas also have always been very kind and appreciate their regulars.
google avatar

Claudia T.

Yelp
Place and ambience is good, a little over price to be honest but coffee is good. The outside patio is very nice to chill
