"Before they closed, Coney’s thick patties used to be on our guide to Miami’s best burgers. They’re back now, operating from a ventanita (and a small indoor counter) in Downtown. We’ve already visited and added them to our Hit List (and put them back in our burger guide)." - mariana trabanino
"Coney Burger looks like a fast food spot, but it suffers over every detail of its bulbous burgers. Almost the entire thing is made in-house, including the bread, pickled tomato, and yuzu mayo. They’re only open from Friday to Monday, and it’s worth popping in for a burger (they have a vegan option), fries, and a shake. Just look for the bright yellow and blue building with a burger ventanita. They have a few tables on the sidewalk, but (especially during summer) we like sitting inside at the small counter, where you can see them assembling burgers like they’re in the final round of a Jenga championship." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo
"Coney Burger looks like a fast food spot, but it’s suffering over every detail of its excellent champ burger. Almost the entire thing is made in-house, including the bread, pickled tomato, cured egg sauce, and yuzu mayo. In the center of it all is a bulbous patty. The Downtown spot is only open from Friday to Monday, and it’s worth popping in for a burger (which includes a vegan option), fries, and a shake. You can order at their giant ventanita. But we like sitting inside at the small counter, where you can see them assembling burgers like they’re in the final round of a Jenga championship. If all of this sounds familiar, it’s because Coney used to have a nearly identical setup in Little Havana." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, virginia otazo, virginia otazo, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"TMJ sufferers beware, Coney’s wagyu champ burger is a jawbreaker. It features a bulbous patty surrounded by a cured egg sauce, tomato paste, yuzu aioli, and a pickled tomato. A housemade brioche bun holds everything together (and adds even more to the circumference). It tastes like something a chef in a tall hat would ironically put on fine dining menu for $40. But this one’s a lot less pretentious and under $20. You can order one at their ventanita or sit inside at the counter. They have a couple of other burgers and a vegan version, too. Just know they’re only open Friday through Sunday." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
