"Restaurant group Chefstable’s urban winery is a popular spot for Portland weddings, long tables lined with guests among the barrels, lit by string lights. Couples visit the venue a few weeks before the event for a full tasting, to choose a menu incorporating seasonal Pacific Northwestern produce and meats. The winery can host up to 180 for a seated reception, and 225 for a standing reception; for full-on ceremonies, the winery can host up to 150." - Jenni Moore, Eater Staff

Highly recommend this place. I've been to events at both their locations (The other is on NE Broadway). The chefs are fantastic. The food was served family style in both cases. It seems they cater out desserts but that works well because you get excellent desserts. The ambiance is nice and the staff are helpful My only critique is that the acoustics weren't ideal at the 6th avenue location as it was hard to hear sometimes. We had a band at the Broadway venue and that worked out well and sound was great. A great option for hosting your event in town!

As a wedding photographer, Coopers Hall is one of those venues you get excited for in Portland. It's not just that it's always a beautiful layout and design as-is, or that the food is always exceptional, but the space is perfect for guests and family to connect. It just "feels" Portland. One of my favorite parts of a wedding day at Coopers Hall is blending in with guests during cocktail hour, as they share laughter and tasty snacks. A quick step outside for evening photos with the couple is convenient, but most importantly, the staff and venue makes it SO easy for everyone to enjoy one another. I've photographed many weddings at Coopers Hall, and the attached photos are just from a handful!

My wife and I got married at Coopers Hall, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. First off, the food was absolutely outstanding—everyone at our wedding raved about it, saying it was the best they’d ever had. Even our vendors couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the food was! The wine selection was another standout, with a fantastic collection. Everything we had there was outstanding. The staff at Coopers Hall is exceptional. We worked with Coral throughout the planning process, and she kept everything perfectly organized. On the day of the event, Dane was our main point of contact, and he ensured everything ran smoothly. The entire team went above and beyond, and we couldn’t have been happier with the service. Coopers Hall is top-notch!

A BIG thank you to the Coopers Hall team. The book launch event was one of the top three nights of my life and your team made it so special! From the planning process to the preparation of the event, I felt like I was supported every step of the way. I cannot stress how much it meant to me to have Claudia and Hannah there on the day of. As you know, the original event was scheduled for February, and due to weather, we had to postpone. It was very heartbreaking to have to reschedule the event, but the event in April surpassed all of my wishes and dreams. Please thank the team so much for everything that they did. So many of my guests said it was one of the best parties they’ve been to and the staff was so welcoming and wonderful. Kudos to you and your team!

If I could give Coopers Hall more stars, I absolutely would. From planning to execution the entire team was so kind and helpful, and the wedding reception we hosted went off without a hitch. The venue itself is gorgeous and requires minimal decoration, if any, and the food is absolutely incredible. I would recommend Coopers Hall to literally anybody who is planning an event.

As a wedding vendor, in the industry since 2015, I’ve had the unique opportunity to experience dozens of venues throughout the Pacific Northwest. I can say without hesitation that Coopers Hall is my favorite venue in Portland! The team operates with a professionalism and grace that sets each event up for success; it truly feels like you’re working alongside friends- in a space that speaks for itself. I strongly recommend Coopers Hall for corporate events, destination weddings and celebrations that want to take advantage of being in close proximity to Portland hotels & nightlife. 10/10

My husband and I got married at Coopers Hall in August 2018, and we cannot recommend the venue any higher! The venue doesn't need any additional decorations- the strung bistro lights, the floor-to-ceiling windows, the rustic wood barrels and the countless hanging plants make for the coolest blend of industrial tones with natural elements. The food is also delicious- the menu is seasonal and fresh and caters to all dietary needs. All the wines are on tap, which is both aesthetically pleasing and resourceful (there is a sign that showcases how many bottles have been saved from the use of the kegs!). And the wines are incredible! They have something for every type of wine drinker (plus beer, cider, and a full bar for those weirdo, non-wine drinkers). Finally, the staff is top-notch. The venue is rarely open to the public because they host SO MANY events. The staff's expertise executing events is evident in all facets of the planning process. They make everything a breeze- and we planned our wedding all the way from Chicago. Every detail was covered and the Coopers Hall staff truly exceeded our expectations. Because of them, our vision came to life, and we had the absolute best day of our lives! Book your event (of any size) here and you will be SO HAPPY that you did!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Coopers Hall and we are incredibly happy with how everything turned out. All of the staff is friendly and accommodating and goes above and beyond for you. Phenomenal customer support, truly a joy to work with. Food is exceptional - our guests kept telling us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. Amazingly good restaurant quality and delicious and innovative menu. The space itself is beautiful. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our experience at CH!

Yelp
An amazing venue for a celebration or a corporate event. The space is open and well-decorated with barrels and light. Love that they have a mezzanine level as well. Their format is mainly sitting down and dining with a big open bar. The food we had for our event was delicious with crispy Fried Chicken and Cauliflower bites, Cornbread, Steak, Risotto, and Grilled Vegetables. For dessert, the Ricotta Donuts were fluffy and crispy.

Yelp
We went to an evening event at Cooper's Hall. There were about 200 people in attendance at a fully catered event. The hall is suitable for medium to large groups and a perfect venue for weddings, banquets, corporate engagements, and other types of activities. It's a beautiful modern space and it will meet any need you can imagine. I don't know the details of the cost, but that would be an easy website/Google search. check out Cooper's Hall.

Yelp
10/10 wedding venue! I'll tell you what our wedding planner told us: "1. They have the BEST food. 2. If you are the kind of couple that doesn't want to make a lot of decisions Coopers Hall is definitely the place for you if you are very particular about what you want then Coopers Hall might not be the place for you." Personally, as a bride experiencing decision fatigue, Coopers Hall was a godsend. Tables, chairs, napkins, dishes, serving style etc. is already planned. I only had to decide how I wanted them to fold the napkins instead of deciding what rental chairs I wanted to get and what serving style I wanted, and how many servers I needed and what dishes and cups I wanted, all of those decisions were already done, which was great. Coopers Hall is a gorgeous location and they set the tables beautifully and do an excellent job serving guests. They just are such prop at hosting weddings. OK and the food, the food was amazing. I am someone who cares deeply about the quality of food and this place did not disappoint. You benefit from having everything made fresh in the kitchen instead of it being catered and rubbery or mushy by the time people eat it at other venues. The chef is incredible, and has really perfected some fantastic dishes. My guests are still talking about the bang bang cauliflower. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a one stop shop wedding venue.

Yelp
Well call me excited to finally get to Coopers Hall. I had tried their wine at Nicholas Family Restaurant down off SE Grand. I have to say branding always catches me and to be honest I loved the branding on their bottles that Nicholas sells. On my first visit, I did the Cooper's Hall red flight. It was lovely. The only wine I didn't like was the Merlot, and I typically don't like them anyway. The atmosphere is very chill and classy, though you don't have to dress up it's casual. I love their concept of wines on tap, as their Cooper's Hall Red is very good and $11/glass but you can spend $3, buy a to-go bottle and spend $12 for a bottle of it! Then refill everytime you return. I came back last week for a girls night out and tried a build your own red flight. I liked 0/5 of the wines. So it's Cooper's Hall reds for me! I may try to sample the bubble flight next trip but I love the ambiance here.

Yelp
Coopers Hall is a beautiful venue for weddings and gatherings, with its large open space, oak barrels lining the perimeter, lots of plants, and natural light. The large wooden tables with high stools or tables along a banquette provide lots of seating options in a very cool space. At night it's very dark with subtle light coming from the candles on the tables and strands of tiny white party lights above. Coopers Hall is not just for events, it's also a Taproom good for small group gatherings or couples. Friends of mine threw me a surprise celebration here when I received a milestone promotion. There were many options for tastings, flights of red or white wine, cider or beer, cocktails and full glasses of your favorite beverage as well. The food was fresh and delicious; everyone, especially me, enjoyed the celebration! Recently I went back with a friend, my first time back since Covid. We were there on a Tuesday night and for the majority of the evening, we were the only ones there. Not Coopers fault by any means, but it does affect the atmosphere when you don't have the talk and laughter from other patrons creating white noise and energy. For some reason it took some time for the waitress to ask for my drink order. I chose the red flight, four pours for $17. It included a Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Malbec and a Merlot which I'm not typically a fan of unless in a blend, but it wasn't bad. Really liked the Malbec from Rougue County so ordered a full glass afterwards so we could continue hanging out and enjoying conversation. Maybe it was an off night, but the service wasn't as friendly or responsive as I expected. When a place is busy, those working there have to hustle. On this night, since it was almost empty, they were hanging out with themselves and and didn't seem to realize we were there. Don't get me wrong, I will come back. I like the space and vibe, the wine and cider selection is good, and it's close to my house. They have a small parking lot and if you can, park there. Part of the street out front is now an outdoor dining area and the street behind is lined with tents and I don't feel comfortable parking my car there. So go early to score a spot in their lot. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 4:00-9:00. Since they host private events, do check their website. Better yet, make a reservation so you know they are open.

Yelp
My brother's wedding venue was Coopers Hall. I found out one of the reasons was the whole "all inclusive" thing. I dont know the details, but I heard, basically, everything was taken care of. The dinner, the location, dj drinks, snacks, staff, cutlery and tables and such, ... you know, All Inclusive... I started this review cuz the food was so freakin good! But, honestly, they pulled off an incredible wedding. I mean, everything and everyone was professional, clean, friendly, attentive... They had an open bar menu. So, as long as you ordered from that menu or any of their 'well spirits', its covered. On top of that, if you want a special drink, you can pay your own tab, and they'll make you whatever. I had an Angel's Envy Rye, and my wife had a G&T that she said was quite well made. Before the wedding, they had several staff with several kinds of appetizers in the "milling around portion. Plenty of surfaces, like wine barrels to place empty glasses, napkins, etc... and the staff were quick to spot anything that needed bussing. The staff also rearranged all the tables and chairs and such, so, when the wedding was over, all the chairs were removed, the tables were placed, and dinner was served. And my goodness... they did not skimp on the quality of the food... wow. They really outdid themselves. The trout with blackberries and corn... the pork... the raclette potatoes... Everything on the plate was amazing!! And there was plenty of it, too! (I was even able to take a small plate to-go. I didnt wanna waste it...) After dinner, they cleared the dancefloor and rugs were cut. Bravo!! A shining example of how to do a wedding!

Yelp
Inner east side wine bar that also serves upscale bar food served mostly family style. A couple veggie options. The spring greens were surprisingly delicious and apparently their specialty and the cheeses were unique. My partner has the burger and enjoyed it. I got a wine flight and enjoyed that too. The taproom isn't open everyday and sometimes closed for special events. Overall, it was very good but very pricey for what it was. And I had to order extra dishes to fill up since they don't really have a vegetarian entree.

Ann W.

Yelp
Attended an Uber-chic wedding here last night. The atmosphere -sparkled with a Portland vibe. The wine was delicious - and the meal, served family style was delicious and plentiful. The bride and groom were extremely happy, and so were the guests. THe acoustics and the band - filled the space with joy. Bravo CH!! Annie

Yelp
Cool spot with wine on tap. The hamburger is always delicious and the wine is fun and creative.

Yelp
This is a wonderful venue for a wedding! For a friend's recent nuptials, Coopers Hall did a fantastic job. The large open space under the corrugated steel hangar roof was set up for the ceremony with 120 chairs in 10 rows. The tables were already set up with full silver, stemware and candles and pushed to the side. The rest of the winery was sectioned off behind a wall of rustic wooden barrels. The staff efficiently reconfigured for sit down dinner with 6 long tables (6x16=96) plus an additional 2 up in the mezzanine (+32) for a total of 128 guests. A dance floor area was also left open while the DJ set up in the corner. During the cocktail hour, the long bar was open while hors d'oeurves platters were floated out of the kitchen. The sitdown dinner reception was served family style in 6 courses and I'm glad for that because I got to try everything. Salad course was Arugula & Mustard Greens dressed with Oregon grapes, shaved fennel, walnuts & fig leaf grape vinaigrette. The first main course was Roasted Salmon with kohlrabi & apple remoulade and glazed radish. The second main course was a Rotisserie Chicken Chausseur with mushrooms & herbs, which was a very tasty, charred spring chicken cut into quarters. These were followed by a pasta course of orecchiette in a creamy mahon cheese sauce with squash, swiss chard & mushrooms. Finishing side courses were Fried Brussels Sprouts & Braised Carrots. Both vegetable dishes could have stood by themselves and the vegans at our table raved about them. Paired with dinner were Coopers' own vintages, a Cascade White and a Cabernet Sauvignon, both sweet and not too dry. It was a fun and pleasurable evening that the Coopers staff made all the more tasty and enjoyable!

Yelp
We hosted our wedding here in August 2022. It was a dream. The CH team was amazing to work with. Jane, our day of coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. She made sure everything ran smoothly and that we didn't have to lift a finger. The food and drinks were amazing and had so many options to customize. Food was served family style and it was classy yet comfortable. I would recommend Coopers Hall to anyone getting married!! Photos courtesy of Michaela Elena Photography!

Yelp
Was looking for a great place on Yelp to stop by on our anniversary and we made a great pick with Cooper Hall. Decor was dope, staff was great, food was great, and the donuts are amazing. Great place to sit and sip wine, talk, and simply hang out. I recommend bringing your companion or that special someone here. The setting is real smooth, and again the staff was great. The free glasses of bubbly in honor of our anniversary was a great way to start our first visit here. Bartender was supreme, knowledgeable, and on point. We will be back and hope you will to...

Sohil M.

Yelp
Had a great date here. Excellent wine collection and industrial ambience. We will definitely come back here.

Amanda W.

Yelp
This place is my guilty pleasure!! Guilty because it's on the fancier price-end and I drink too much wine when I come... but they have plenty of healthy options and pricing is reasonable relatively. Pleasure because it's all so good! The first time I came here was for an event, and the hall was gorgeously decorated with the best catered food I had ever experienced. Determined to come back, I had dinner and wine sampling for a night out, and also did some takeout kits during the pandemic. The food and wine were spot on every time.

Tinamarie S.

Yelp
Here for a conference and loved the place. Super cool ambience. Dinner was served and it was great - buffet style - but the bartender made me an old fashioned and let me tell you was I impressed ... it was delicious very comparable to the old fashioned served at The Brown in Kentucky. Yet again I failed to get his name but he was tall and slender . Let me say a couple people tasted my drink and proceeded to order the same and even funnier was that we saw many more ordering the same! Cool vibes

Sandra K.

Yelp
A gorgeous space! I went here for a wedding and was stunned as soon as I walked in. The space gets incredible light and the barrels, strung lights, and hanging plants give it a rustic, sophisticated look. Just speaking towards the wedding catering but the dishes - chicories caesar, salmon with an amazing coconut curry sauce and grilled nectarines (wow!), roasted pork belly, and heirloom tomatoes were so delicious - I can't remember having a better wedding meal. Thank you Coopers Hall for this memorable experience! Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town.

Rachel B.

Yelp
Cool place! Came here for an event with 150 or some people from a conference. The wine on tap was all really tasty and the staff was really friendly about letting us try samples to decide which one we wanted. Food was great, served family style which isn't my favorite. But with this many people it seemed to work. Everything was really tasty. I liked the atmosphere with all the hanging plants, high ceilings and wine barrels. Great venue for an event.

John K.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in for happy hour, and had a wonderful time. I see lots of reviews from people who attended, or hosted events here, and it was pretty clear that the space would be a wonderful location for potentially large groups. But, it is also terrific for two people to stop in and enjoy drinks and a menu designed to go with them. One of us had a cocktail (a rum-based delight called Hotel Nacional, which brought back pleasant memories of the namesake in Havana), the other had wine (exclusively served on tap), and we shared a really nice cheese plate. The cheese did not come with the detailed history that you might get at Cheese Bar, but service was excellent - friendly, informative, attentive but never hovering - just what I always hope for. This is a lovely spot for relaxing with friends, no matter if it's one, or a large group.

Charlie T.

Yelp
This place is awesome!! From the atmosphere to the wine to the food. My friends wanted to try this place out and see what the rave was all about. First of all, the decor is fairly minimal, but works really well. I really like how it feels like you ate eating inside a warehouse...but not really. Second, the food was amazing. We ordered the whole chicken, braised short rib, fries, fried brussel sprouts, and the caesar salad. The whole chicken was a good idea for the three of us to split. The braised short rib was cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. The caesar salad had this amazing smoked dressing that gave it a taste that I haven't experienced before. It was money! Third, our server Maegan was on point with serving and suggesting certain wines to try out. She made us feel welcomed and definitely enhanced our experience.

Stacie B.

Yelp
Really beautiful place. Would've wanted my wedding here if we lived closer! Staff was friendly and everything we ordered was delicious.

Jill T.

Yelp
I visited Portland during COVID and had the great opportunity of trying one of their wines from St. Jacks. I loved it! It's the Cascadia white. It's dry and crisp and finished clean. I'm in love with this wine. So I called, to see if I could order a case. Not only was I able to order a case but they also delivered it to me! White glove service! If I lived here I'd be a regular for their growler fills. Thanks a million for the great service!

Asia V.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this venue enough! Our nonprofit hosted a fundraiser at Coopers Hall last week and everything was perfect-- it's a beautiful venue with lots of natural light, excellent food & wine, and a knowledgeable and friendly staff. A million thank yous to the Coopers Hall event team, especially to Jennifer!

Sara W.

Yelp
I went here January 2nd, and it was a great night because it was empty! I guess everyone had started their "diets." I arrived at 6:15 and was immediately seated. Our waitress was just delightful and oh so helpful, especially when it came to picking a glass of wine. I ordered their Tempernillo and it was great! My dining companion enjoyed his Malbec. We ordered a cheese plate to share. For dinner, I got the branzino and he ordered the buckwheat speatzel. WOW! This was some of the best fish I have ever ordered at a restaurant, and it came from a wine bar, who knew?! It was accompanied by roasted delicate quash and Brussels sprouts, all lightly covered in a beure blanc sauce. The amount of fish you received was quite generous too. He enjoyed his choice, but he said I definitely picked the more delicious one. Please put Coopers Hall not only on your wine bar list but also your restaurant list. They really show they care about wine AND food quality.

Casey R.

Yelp
I just honestly really enjoyed everything about this place. The atmosphere: romantic, rustic, relaxed... the kind of place you could get away with dressing up a little to visit, but you won't feel out of place in a pair of jeans. The service: a tiny bit slow, but extremely friendly and accommodating. The food: everything was excellent. The chicken liver mousse was great. The Caesar was incredibly fresh and light, and not overdressed. The pasta was absolutely outstanding. The flavor combinations were just really outstanding. I could go on, but I would recommend just trying it for yourself. It's absolutely worth it.

Trey M.

Yelp
Wine on tap? Seems weird, but it's actually a great idea. Being Portland and all, they've managed to save quite a few hundred thousand bottles by providing wine to people this way (as their sign inside shows). Cool interior, mixes with the original industrial building, while maintaining a "Portland" style industrial modern with all the plants and lights strung around from the ceiling. Plenty of bench seating, bar seating, and even upstairs seating. Food was pretty decent, got the salmon croquet balls and the charcuterie plate that went ok with the couple glasses of house Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. I will say however, I was a little bit disappointed in the house wines as they lacked the full bodied flavor of most reds I've become accustomed to drinking. However, my friends ordered a house white, that was actually pretty decent. One nice thing is that you can order wine sizes in a taster size, glass size, or even by the bottle. All in all, if you're looking for a social place with decent food and a cool ambience come here! If you're a wine snob, this place may not be the best for you (depends on what you like, though).

Kaci N.

Yelp
We used Coopers Hall for our wine at our wedding. Prior to the event they arranged for us to try all of the wine and gave a beautiful description of each. They were all amazing! Our wedding turned out to be a lot hotter than normal so much of the red did not get drank. Coopers Hall worked with us to still get our moneys worth of wine which was great! Highly recommend!

Kayla L.

Yelp
I was here for a going away party with a large group. It took over an hour for the server to ask if we were ready to order after multiple people had already told her earlier that we were ready. I ordered the salmon with green beans and cherries. It was the smallest piece of salmon I've ever ordered and came with only 2 cherries! Everyone else who had the salmon complained about the portion size as well. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. The green beans had way too much butter. Unfortunately all of us left hungry and ready to go eat somewhere else!

Kimberly N.

Yelp
We had our wedding at Coopers Hall and I can not say enough amazing things about the experience of working with them. From how incredible the food was (guests were telling us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had) to the custom drinks, to the kind and attentive service, to all of the support while planning, and of course the beautiful space. Coopers Hall created our dream wedding.

Ee Vonn Y.

Yelp
Service - Good and attentive. Recommendations were helpful. Interior - Beautiful, gorgeous, and exactly what I would think if someone wanted a stereotypical classy yet hipster wine bar in Portland to be like. Food - Each dish we ordered tasted like they spilled a container of salt into it, and tried to use more salt to cover it up. Fried Cauliflower - Too much salty seasoning. It looked like someone spilled pile of seasoning into our dish. The cauliflower was hot, wholesome, soft, and comforting. Lamb Shank - Salty, savory pile of lamb goop mushed into another pile of even saltier mashed potatoes. It was an expensive bowl of salty goop. Smoked Duck Breast - The only non-salty item and the best! A giant thick slice of cold duck ham must be eaten with the thinly sliced radish and a glaze of butter underneath. This strange combination was on point.

Yelp
My husband and I got married in August 2018 at Coopers Hall, and highly recommend that anyone looking to host an event strongly consider Coopers Hall for all of your needs! We will break this review down into three categories: the venue, the food/wine, and the staff. (Apologies for the length of this review!) VENUE Planning a 125-person wedding from another state can be very stressful! We wanted a space that would not require too many additional decorations and that was expansive enough to host both the ceremony and reception without feeling overwhelmed with additional space. After what felt like weeks of searching, we happened to come across Coopers Hall from a family member's referral. We were immediately obsessed with the hanging plants, floor-to-ceiling walls, walls of rustic wood barrels, and the strung bistro lights. We booked the space without ever even walking in because we were confident we would love it. And we couldn't be happier with our choice! When we were finally able to see the venue in person, we were thrilled that the pictures really did showcase the beauty of the venue. The venue is in an industrial building that used to be an auto-body repair shop. From the mezzanine level, you can really appreciate the unique features: the vats of wine (we learned these are called Coopers, hence the name!), the twinkly lights sprawled across the dining space, and the beautiful light that seeps in through the large windows on the garage-style doors. When it came time to decide the floor plan for our wedding, we had a tough time choosing which corner of the venue to highlight because we loved so many angles! FOOD/WINE Portland locals visit Coopers Hall on rare nights when the venue is not booked for an event to enjoy the delicious food and wine. That is how you know that Coopers Hall is doing food and beverage right! To pick our wedding food and wine, the venue hosted a special dinner at which we were able to try all of the wines and sample the seasonal menu. It was incredible- we tried 7 different wines and sampled several appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts. We left very full and excited for our guests to get to eat our menu. Insider scoop: get the mac and cheese. Just do it. We still have guests raving about it! Drool. And the wine! We had many wine lovers agree that the wine poured was of high quality and easy to drink throughout the night. Joel, the wine director, learned that we wanted some sparkling wine to serve at the wedding and special ordered us two cases of the most delicious rose sparking wine from France- it was gone before dinner was served! STAFF If you are perusing other venues in Portland, you may come across other spaces that compete with the venue, food and wine aspects of Coopers Hall. But what cannot possibly be paralleled is the staff. When you book an event at Coopers Hall, Shannan, the Events Director, whisks you away into her magical world of events-planning expertise. From the minute you book a contract, you can hand over all the reigns and just coast through planning. She handles every single detail with such ease and talent. She is a guru and will make you actually enjoy wedding planning! And this is saying a lot, considering my husband works in events at a major hotel company. We were extremely impressed with how knowledgeable Shannan is about planning and executing events, her efficiency to get tasks done, her incredible responsiveness (an absolute must for planning any event, especially one from out-of-state), and her devotion to her job. She also ensured we stayed on budget! The day of the wedding, she put out fires that I didn't even know existed, she made sure that my husband and I got our own special bottle of the coveted sparkling wine, and she even rescued me from a red-wine spill on my wedding dress by personally dabbing with water and her own Tide pen! She is absolutely the best. In addition to Shannan, we were floored by the sweetness of Mae, our Day-of-Coordinator, who helped make sure that everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding and kept us informed of the timeline as events occurred so that we didn't get behind schedule. Lastly, we want to thank and highlight the incredible wait staff at Coopers Hall! During the dinner service, our wine glasses were filled and guests' needs managed expertly by the servers. But perhaps the staff member who stood out the most to my husband and me was Blake, the exceptionally friendly bartender who would spot us from a mile away, always ready to make sure our glasses were full. He even kept my drink safe (have I mentioned how much I loved my sparkling wine!) while we went to cut the cake. Top-notch service! Perhaps this review was way too long for you to handle (sorry!), but we just needed to get across how highly we recommend you consider Coopers Hall for any event needs. The venue, food, wine and people will make your evening unforgettable, just as ours was!

Yelp
You couldn't ask for a better place for a group to gather. Super accommodating to make reservations, a great atmosphere. Rachel took care of us, service was spot on. Food was really good. From the Potatoes Tartiflette, Charcuterie and Burger, everyone enjoyed their food. More wines on tap than other beverages. My only ding is that the background music makes conversation across the tables difficult.

Yelp
I had no idea this place existed but I'm so glad I found it on my way to Mirakutei! I love the space - it feels like you're outside, almost in a vineyard or a greenhouse because of the lights and the potted plants. It would be a fun place to have a mock vineyard wedding or other special event! There are so many wines to choose from, both made by Cooper's and sourced from other winemakers - all in barrels. We tried the Cooper's red flight and found that we liked the Malbec and Pinot noir the best. I also tried a sampler of Gewurtztraminer and a red blend - both great to go with our cheese plate. I'm so excited to go back and try more. Portland seriously has too many options! I love it.

Yelp
It was a pleasure working with Kate M. for my October rehearsal dinner. Coopers Hall was our first choice of venue & I'm so happy to have had such a special event there! We rented the mezzanine, which was perfect for our 32 guests, although that particular area can accommodate 40. The space is warm & inviting & looked beautiful even without outside rentals or floral. We chose three appetizers, two sides & two entrees (tri-tip & porchetta) & everything was wonderful. Everyone raved about the food & Coopers Hall let us bring in outside desserts from Annie's Pies. Big thanks to Kate, who worked with me for over seven months as I planned this event & remained responsive & helpful throughout. Another special shoutout to our server, Sara, & bartender, who were amazing & so friendly!

Yelp
The ambience and decor is romantic AF. You'll go in for a glass of wine and somehow ended up married. Amazing wine selection. Love that it's on tap so you can try a lot, get mixed flights, take "growlers" home, etc. HH pricing and food is excellent and fairly priced. Staff is friendly and helpful. I sat at the bar and asked for a table once my party arrived and was quickly reseated.

Yelp
Just had a quick glass of wine and a very tasty green bean, blackberry, goat cheese side. I liked the place and I will definitely be back for a longer visit.

Yelp
Wow, lovely, lovely place! Beautiful ambiance and décor. The wine barrels all over the place are an Instagram dream. The strung lights are perfect. And I'm not sure if this was just for a specific event that weekend or what, but there was a beautiful huge pink balloon fixture the evening I went as well. It was the perfect setup for my birthday din (even though it was probably setup for another event :P). The food - I feel like it's tailored to a very particular and refined taste. Everything tasted good, but the chicken came with very little vegetables, the salmon was the same. The sausages came with a lot of polenta, and tasted great but again, no vegetables. So, you definitely need to figure out what works for you and if you'll have to order a side or appetizer as well, just to get full. Service was so slow though. I get that it was Friday night, but reading some other reviews - it looks like it's a common occurrence. Also, when we got there, we only had two girls and were waiting for one more. They said they didn't have any tables open so we had to sit at the community table. We saw many tables open though, so we asked another waitress if we could sit by the pink balloons and after checking with someone, she said it was OK and took us to the open table. Not sure how the wires got crossed or why we weren't allowed to sit there in the first place.. The music that evening was r&b/hip-hop + old school songs, too. They played Aaliyah! That's my kind of place. But I probably won't be taking my boyfriend here - he likes a good hearty meal and this place might not be the best option for him. If they fix their service issues and add some more food to their entrees, I would come here all the time. It would be a great place for my girls and I.

Yelp
We made a reservation at this restaurant for a party of 9 on Friday evening March 25. We had a great seat in the upper dining room overlooking the main taproom below. It was a great place, tranquil, yet with plenty of room to talk with our tablemates. It seemed to be the perfect balance between relaxing place to eat and great place to hangout with good friends and family. I had a cocktail which I found to be very good. For dinner, I had the lamb burger, which was amazing. I found the burger to be cooked to my liking and the toppings on the burger such as the apricot jam and the mustard were absolutely amazing. I know that our table also shared Cod Fritters and Cooper Fries which also were both absolutely wonderful. Our server was very nice and efficient. Overall, an excellent experience and I was pleased. Although I do not live in the area, I would definitely consider a return visit.

Yelp
NUMBER ONE REGRET: I DIDN'T GET THE WHOLE CHICKEN. Yes, they have a whole chicken that you can order here. I really wish we got it with our wine flight. I don't care how big or small the chicken is...I just want to be able to say we ordered and ate it! The atmosphere here is very clean, chic, minimalistic. I love it! I love their wine flights. My friend and I each ordered a flight and was able to try a lot of different types of wine! I loved all the dark red, she loved the lighter white wine. Great variety! I would love to come here again and order the whole chicken with a wine flight.

Yelp
Have been wanting to check out this place for a while and it did not disappoint. I loved the vibe, urban and welcoming. The ceiling has huge industrial fans and string lights (I'm a sucker for those). Our bartender was super friendly. We each had a flight and a couple glasses of wine. Everything we tried was good, specifically their Pinot noir. I have never been to a winery where all the wine is on tap, which is a unique touch. I just wonder how they know what tap is what, you couldn't see any markings/numbers about them! They also have beer and liquor. My friend and I each got the quinoa burger with goat cheese, yum! It came with a large pickle that was also tasty. Semi messy to eat but worth it. We didn't go up, but they did have a loft as well. Looks like it would be a good spot for a small event. Overall it has a really good vibe, good vino, and good food. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
This place is an awesome event venue, and cool local wine bar experience. They have so many wines on tap, you'd need to a few trips to make your way through. I also appreciate that their food is top notch. Love the greenery as well! Check it out if you can!

Yelp
Talk about a hidden gem! My boyfriends parents were in town and I was looking for a good place to take them to dinner, nothing too fancy but something with a little more class than your average Portland bar (which don't get we wrong, we all love!) This wonderful place popped up on my search and we just HAD to go! To begin, it's right in the center of everything, just in a quiet block so unless you're looking for it, you most likely wouldn't stumble upon it! It is a big ware house like building with the taproom and an upstairs area for private events, as soon as I stepped in, I realized, wow this would be a great space for a big event! Possibly a wedding! Waiting to be seated, we were greeted by multiple employees making sure we had been helped and they were all so kind and helpful. Once seated, we were given menus. And oh gosh so much GREAT food to choose from! I went with the lamb burger, my boyfriend's mom went with the veggie burger, boyfriends dad went with the seafood soup, and my boyfriend just had fries (his tummy hurt a little). To start we shared the octopus salad. And Wow... that was the best octopus I have ever had. Normally it's chewy but this was so soft and crunchy on the outside! My mouth is watering. Everyone loved their food, everyone!! What is also great is that they have about 40 wines on top (if memory serves) and a few brews as well, a drink for all! The best part? you can get wine flights! Ahh! How cool is that?! You can also fill bottles here or buy on of theirs! I can't wait to back, especially in the warmer weather, they will have their large glass garage doors open!

Yelp
Excellent salads and service. Wine flights are a must try. Family friendly and great atmosphere right in downtown Portland.

Yelp
Really REALLY love this place! Beautiful venue that looks like a giant greenhouse. Great wine selections and outstanding menu options. The service was wonderful and the wine never disappoints. And I can't speak highly enough about the FOOD!! So good, just trust me.

Yelp
Attended a beautiful wedding at Cooper's Hall. The setting was beautiful ,the food was fabulous and the wait staff was incredible. This is one of the best meals I've ever had at a wedding. It was very healthy and delicious and beautifully served. The table settings were gorgeous and the flowers amazing. We had so much fun dancing on the dance floor and even better they opened up the garage doors and we danced on the street and had appetizers out there. This is one of the best weddings I've ever been to. Thank you Cooper's Hall. I would highly recommend this for anybody that wants to host a wedding at this venue.

Yelp
Next-level venue. I am a wedding photographer, and have worked a few events at Cooper's Hall. This is absolutely one of the best venues in Portland. From a photography perspective, the light is gorgeous. There are windows everywhere, which allow for beautiful, soft lighting. There are also plenty of places around Cooper's both inside and outside for photos. The food and wine are unbeatable--truly, everyone will remember how delicious it was. I recommend them all the time to my clients!

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my sisters graduation. I had the wine flight which was delicious, the Rose was my favorite I then had a glass of. So bubbly and delicious. I had the 1/2 chicken which was perfectly good with yummy roasted kale on top. The potatos in it were also cooked perfectly. I also really liked the atmosphere, an urban winery how fun!

Yelp
Was at a catered party. Fun open atmoshere. Great bar and intimate lighting. The salmon was the best! highly recommended!

Yelp
I'd been geeking out over Coopers Hall before it even opened, thanks to plentiful coverage on Eater, Remodelista and various other virtual venues. Once I'd finally managed to get my act together and drag a group of friends over for a night out, I was pleasantly surprised - my expectations were so high, I didn't think it'd be possible for Coopers Hall to hit them all. Well, fret not - Coopers Hall delivered in all areas. The close-in Industrial District location is easy to locate and there's a ton of street parking in the area. The space is absolutely glorious. It reminds me of a hangar, with high soaring ceilings, retro-modern lighting and a clean, minimalist feel that's not sterile, but welcoming. Our party of five was seated right away and got to tasting. 44 wines on tap, plus a few ports and some ciders and beers makes for a very happy Katya! Rebel that I am, I started with a cider flight - at that time, they had five ciders on tap and the tasting flight was quite reasonable. I followed that up with a glass of prosecco that was perfect for the warm summer evening and quite delicious. I didn't manage to really dig into the menu, but I did ask the server for a bubbly recommendation that wasn't too dry but not very sweet, and she pinpointed the exact right choice for me. We nibbled on some bar nuts and I tasted a friend's brussel sprouts that were nicely blackened and perfectly flavored. Perfect drinking snacks! I'd love to explore the rest of the menu over future visits, as you can be sure that I'll be back!

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and all the fresh food options. I would definitely recommend for either drinks and snacks or a full dinner!
