"Famous for their cookery schools, Le Cordon Bleu also operate restaurants, including this one in a Grade II listed building originally designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens for the Press Association. The room is stylishly decorated in soothing blues and whites, and the impeccably attired chefs are on show in the glass-fronted kitchen. The cooking shows a strong classical bent, with dishes such as venison en croûte and a reimagined Black Forest gateau presented in an eye-catching, modern style." - Michelin Inspector

Le Cordon Bleu Cookery School Announces New London Restaurant | Eater London

"A Paris-headquartered, long-established French cookery school is opening a new flagship London site on Fleet Street that will include a public-facing restaurant alongside teaching facilities. The internationally recognised institution counts alumni such as Yotam Ottolenghi, Julia Child, Mary Berry, Nancy Silverton and Virgilio Martínez, has operated a Bloomsbury Square location in Holborn since 1931, and has signed a 35-year lease on the former Fleet Street restaurant; the new restaurant will both promote the school and provide work experience for its students." - Adam Coghlan

It is the second time we visited CORD . Outstanding quality food and service on both occasions . From the moment we enter the restaurant until the last petit four served to us -Exquisite experience. We started with some very tasty canapés by the Chefs . For starters we had the Blue Fin Tuna with ocietra caviar ,Anjou pigeon ,Scottish langoustine and the Wagyu beef Carpaccio. For main we went for their signatures the Monkfish and the Venison we also tried the Cep pasta dish .All perfectly cooked bursting with flavours. The desserts were league by itself. Very professional, attentive but service .They made us feel very comfortable. Arguably the most underrated restaurant in the city at the moment ,how is this not at least 1 Michelin star ?Food for thoughts for the notorious guide.

A lovely lunchtime menu in City. Service Very good and to a high standard. Staff were all detailed and friendly when greeting us as well as explaining the dishes. When looking at wine suggestions, they were very attentive in looking at what we wanted to order as well as matching our preferred tastes. Food Food is cooked very well, as expected. Whilst the dishes themselves aren't going to be classed as revolutionary, there is something to be said about good dishes, prepared well, plated nicely, and comes as you'd expect! Overall Well cooked food in a nice setting. Expect standard London pricing, but a safe choice!

We went for the set menu and it was great value. Elegant setting with friendly, welcoming service. The food was fresh and beautifully presented you can really tell they put care into every dish. The complimentary butter bread was delicious and very crispy, the braised short rib was incredibly soft and full of flavour, and the mango and passion fruit dessert was so refreshing the perfect way to end the meal. Great value and definitely worth the price.

Gem of Fleet street! Arrived here to have my lunch today, I had a very warm welcome at the reception and was taken to my table. The first course was bread, I could tell by the taste that it was freshly baked and the two types of butter served with the bread were equally delicious. I had the Otoro bluefin tuna with oscetra caviar and consomme for the starters. The fish flaked very well and had a very rich Umami flavour. My main was as good as the starter, tender and easy to flake Cornish dover sole with salsify, the sauce paired with the fish was so good. I strongly recommend this dish. For dessert, I had the Mandarin, a dark chocolate mousse with orange and miso sorbet, it was the perfect balance of flavour and a very rich dessert to finish off the meal. If you are still reading this, what are you waiting for? You have to try this restaurant 😋

I’d heard about Le Cordon Bleu opening a restaurant back when I was still in China, so once I returned to London, I felt I had to come try it. But upon arriving, the scene was surprisingly quiet — only two or three tables occupied throughout the evening. Perhaps the more affordable lunch menu draws more attention. Online reviews are quite positive, but to me the restaurant is simply… fine. Bread and desserts are genuinely excellent, and the savoury dishes are classic and safe — though each comes with small issues here and there. Service depends entirely on luck: the sommelier and one server were great, but most of the time the explanations were rushed and mumbled, as if they were just completing a checklist rather than making sure guests understood. A cheap lunch menu might be worth a try, but the £125 full tasting menu really isn’t necessary. Canapés ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Salmon boat — crisp, with herbal and coconut notes; the salmon’s fattiness barely comes through. Beef tartare — sweet–tart acidity, very fine texture. Truffle arancini — warm, soft, slightly sweet–tart, with cheese richness and truffle aroma. Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sourdough — light yeast aroma, crisp crust. Baguette — a bit hard on the teeth, but very fragrant: buttery, wheaty, peppery. Brioche — soft, fluffy, crisp-edged. Otoro Bluefin Tuna ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sweet–sour–salty seasoning. Though served as ōtoro, it felt more like akami — little detectable fat, and the colour suggests the same. The beef jus adds depth and umami. BBQ Monkfish ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Firm, bouncy flesh; lightly sweet–salty seasoning. A faint trace of fishiness remains. The monkfish purée is smooth, with avocado fat blending into the seafood sweetness and a touch of char. Salt Marsh Lamb Rack ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very tender, savoury, and juicy with a gentle lamb-fat aroma. Among the sides, the courgette was noticeably bitter on the surface, though the peach pairing was interesting. Aperol Spritz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yuzu flavour stands out — sweet–tart with a light bitterness. Four textures in one: fruit, jelly, juice, and granita, plus the citrus pop of finger-lime pearls. Mango & Passion Fruit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Smooth, sweet mousse; refreshing tart sorbet; the broth is clean and gently sweet with a hint of lemongrass. Petit Fours ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chocolate madeleine — soft, lightly chocolaty, paired with tea cream that’s deeply aromatic. Chocolate hazelnut — solid bittersweet cocoa. Lemon fudge — sweet on its own, but the lemon adds a refreshing lift. Total bill: £140.62 Recommendation score: 7.5/10

An incredible meal from start to finish. The tasting menu at CORD showcases why Le Cordon Bleu is so revered. The dishes, like the stunning Otoro Tuna and the unbelievably tender Salt Marsh Lamb, are executed with precision and creativity. The Aperol Spritz dessert is a must-try. For the quality, the price is exceptional. A truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Came to dine here and honestly, it blew me away. My favorites were the Lobster & Sea Urchin Raviolo and the Peanut Souffle for dessert. The Lamb rack dish was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Sitting by the open kitchen made the meal feel alive, and downstairs they have private rooms if you want a more intimate experience. Service was relaxed but attentive, and the whole evening just felt special and effortless.

A beautifully refined dining experience at CORD by Le Cordon Bleu. We had the summer tasting menu (£129 incl. champagne) and every course was perfectly paced and executed. The otoro tuna and salt marsh lamb were highlights, but even the bread basket impressed. The space is elegant, calm, and quietly theatrical—like watching a team of chefs compose music in real time. A true showcase of precision, balance, and French technique. Highly recommend for a special evening.
