10 of San Gabriel Valley’s Finest Noodle Bowls, Mapped | Eater LA

"Beef noodle soup is seldom the belle of the ball in the Instagram feed (few noodle dishes truly are), but if there’s ever been a higher delicious-to-photogenic ratio in a single dish, one would be hard-pressed to find it. Corner Beef Noodle House’s niu rou mian, or Taiwanese-style beef noodle soup, takes melty beef tendon and marries it with a downright dreamy, clean broth to create one of the best noodle soup dishes in the city." - Euno Lee

Amazing hole in the wall. The beef noodle soup was top notch and I actually had an Anton Ego moment when I tasted their popcorn chicken. It was exactly the same flavor as the street vendor out in the alley by my grandma's place in Taipei almost 21 years ago, reminding me of much warmer and cozier times than the current epoch. 😔 Service was excellent, compliments to the staff as they made sure our brief visit was comfortable. Do take note, however, it might be because we did not have a language barrier. Overall well worth the trip and if I'm ever in the area again I would be most eager to try their other offerings.

We each had the beef noodle soup but shared the tawainese sausage, Karage chicken, and cucumber salad. The chicken was very crunchy, but everything else seemed to need something.

Our favorite beef noodle soup in 626 😋 if you ask, they also give you bibs so you don’t have to be worried about staining your clothes! Fav combo is beef noodle & the red pork!!

Google
Corner Beef Noodle House serves truly exceptional Chinese beef stew noodles! The broth is incredibly rich and flavorful, and the beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender. The noodles are perfectly cooked, soaking up all that delicious broth. It's a comforting, satisfying meal that I highly recommend. You won't regret trying them! The popcorn chicken is amazing too!

nice place to eat original taiwanese food in SGV… we order beef noodles soup and popcorn chicken

The portion of beef noodles is very large, and the flavor is very good.

If you’re anywhere near El Monte and not stopping by Corner Beef Noodle House, you’re doing life wrong. This place hits all the right notes! The braised beef noodle soup? Deep, rich broth with that slow-cooked taste that makes you question every other bowl you’ve ever had. The beef itself is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and they don’t skimp on it either. Noodles have that perfect bounce. Service is fast and friendly. You can tell it’s a spot the locals swear by. Prices are more than fair—honestly, it feels like a steal. Will I be back? Already planning my next visit.

Nothing else I can say but I wish I knew this place sooner. The food is DELICIOUS!!! the beef tendon, the meat, the pork feet, cooked and taste so on point I wanted to eat it twice. Gotta thank my friend for recommending bringing me to this restaurant. I heard that their sausage is completely made in house and let me tell you this sausage taste better than the specialists that make sausages for a living in Taiwan !! This should be a must go place for beef noodle soup! Forgot to mention their mochi, just try it you will love it 😜

Yelp
Seems like a family owned-operated Taiwanese spot located in a small strip mall in El Monte. I was on a beef noodle soup kick and this spot came up when searching for places. The service and vibe is warm and cozy. It was pretty empty when I first got there, but filled up pretty quickly as it was getting into prime dinner time. I was on my way home from work and stopped by this place. Not too far off the freeway. Of course I ordered the beef noodle soup (with the thick noodles). The beef and noodles were delicious. The broth was rich and tasty. Just a great, comforting bowl of beef noodle soup. It was exactly what I was looking for. It was a pretty big bowl so I wasn't able to order anything else, but definitely would be interested in trying some other items on the menu. Because it is in a strip mall, parking was plentiful, but it was a Friday night and the lot was pretty full.

Yelp
A legit taiwanese noodle spot with quick service. A broth like this will heal anyone with any hangover or sickness. jk, but it does taste really good and leave you satisfied. Popcorn chicken came out piping hot. Couldn't resist burning my mouth. The tripe was alright, wasn't my favorite but it was nice to snack on. For dessert, we had the mochi. The peanut and sesame sugar on the soft mochi was awesome. The restaurant isn't the biggest, but can hold a good amount of parties. So be prepared to wait if tables aren't cleaned. It shares a parking lot in a plaza but we were able to find parking easily.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Saturday with my husband and friend the last time we were in SoCal. It wasn't too busy at all and we were seated right away. We decided to share two orders of their beef noodle soup with thick noodles, an order of popcorn chicken, and an order of fried pork chops. Each beef noodle soup order was a good amount of food. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had great texture. They also gave a large amount of beef! I wasn't a huge fan of the beef though -- some parts were too tough for me. The popcorn chicken and fried pork chop came out piping out! The flavor was great on them! The popcorn chicken were in bigger pieces than I would have liked but they were so juicy and tender! The fried pork chop was juicy as well! If you do get the pork chop, be sure to eat it while it's still hot. Once it cooled, the texture isn't as great anymore. Overall, definitely would recommend. Great flavors and big portions!

Yelp
Starting my next string of 100 reviews, Review#901: I was starving by the time I hit a second local mall today on Sunday Funday, May/19/24 supporting local biz. I recalled having visited 'Corner Beef Noodle House,' El Monte, CA., was when I was used to teaching preschools in Arcadia, CA. I had been here but some how I forgot to review then. Popcorn chicken rice wasn't my first choice, but they called me back and infomed me they ran out of Taiwanese Sausage rice. Lo and behold, Popcorn Chicken rice was just as juicy and delish. Staff was super friendly both times from on phone and in person. I enjoyed having Wall Art to read and see in the restroom!!!! More signs from the Universe for me. Service: 10/10 hands down, nailed to perfection. Food: 10/10. Given portion was large enough for 2 meals. Ambiance: 10/10. Extremely fitting wall art presented over half side of bathroom wall. Just what I needed to see. You had me at hello. Of course I'll be back! XoXo Becky

Yelp
Look no further for comforting, authentic Taiwanese food. The beef noodle soup is fragrant and generous, and the fried red pork is decadent and heavenly. For two people, this is the perfect combination. It comes out around $21 a person which is reasonable for the high quality.

Yelp
*** Credit cards still accepted, but customers can save 3% if they tell the staff they are paying by cash *** Recently I stopped by this restaurant for lunch and honestly I feel like the overall food quality has slightly regressed. [Parking]: Free private parking lot; finding a spot shouldn't be an issue. [Menu]: Their specialities remain the following four items: beef noodle soup, fried pork chop with rice, Taiwanese sausage, and popcorn chicken. Personally I would still recommend all items with the exception of Taiwanese sausage and I would also recommend getting half meat/half tendon for beef noodle soup. Customers can order either thin or wide noodle for beef noodle soup. *** Half Meat/Half Tendon Beef Stew (wide noodle, $18.53): Broth tasted on a slightly saltier side, but it was still within my tolerance level. Extremely generous portion on meat and tendon. Popcorn Chicken w/ Rice ($15.97): Popcorn chicken still had great crispy texture, but chicken pieces tasted slightly salty for me. *** While most dishes I had here still managed to hit the spot on the overall flavors, most dishes had too much salt and I have to downgrade from 5-star to 4-star (no extra bonus on service as it was pretty basic). P.S. - I personally prefer beef noodle soup from Xiang Ji Arcadia (more balanced flavors on broth) over beef noodle soup here.

Yelp
The Taiwanese mochi was so delicious. They even give you extra topping on the side. It says two pieces on the menu, but the portion is a good portion for two, maybe three people. I'm removing one star because they didn't allow me to use my card, only for purchase of $30 or more.

Yelp
Have not been to many Taiwanese Restaurants. Came here with friends and we all agree the food is good. Came here on a Sunday after worship service. Was fortunate to get a table as within a few minutes the restaurant was crowded and a lined had formed outside. Recommend the Taiwanese Sausage and Rice, Bean Curd Skin, Cucumber Salad (was actually very Good), Pic Knuckles. The beef, tendon and tripe noodle soup was okay, have had better. Service was a bit slow, but acceptable given the crowd. Would definitely be back

Yelp
Happened to make our way towards El Monte for some beef noodle soup during the cold weekend, so we stopped by here~ It's quite a large restaurant space with ample seating and located in a strip mall plaza. Service is nice and quick, and they speak both English and Mandarin~ Definitely get the fried monascus pork (normally it's translated into English as fried red yeast rice pork which gives it the red color)--it's super crispy and fatty and pairs well with the sweet crunchy cucumber pickles that come with it. I would also recommend getting the mochi because it was warm, soft, and freshly covered with sweetened ground peanut and black sesame. My sister got passion fruit juice and said it was refreshing and not too sweet. The beef noodle soup is a more homestyle flavor--despite the dark color, it was not super heavy in spice/salt compared to other places but reminded me of the type of soup my mom would cook. They give you individually packaged chili oil and pickled mustard greens to add to your soup if you would like a bit more flavor (I liked adding the pickled mustard greens). The regular (aka thick) noodles were a bit too soft for my liking--they weren't super bouncy and chewy, but the beef was very well cooked (I think it's thick cut beef shank, which is very meaty and difficult to cook well). The portion size is big enough to eat for at least 2 meals, so you can jazz it up more at home with the leftovers for your second meal. We left very full and happy; will come again if we happen to be in the area~

Yelp
my all-time favorite taiwanese beef noodle soup place. first off, they have limited hours (they're only open half days on the weekdays) - which is always a great sign since they have the funds to afford a flexible schedule. ambiance is solid, and service is quick. second, i've been coming to this restaurant for 6 years now, and i've never tasted beef noodle soup like this. their broth and portion size have both been very consistent. words cannot describe how delicious their masterpiece of a broth is: it's as though they've perfected a centuries-long family secret and i'm among the lucky few in southern california to be let in on it. it's not too thin, it's not too thick, and it's too delicious. too delicious to the point where i'm constantly comparing their broth to that of other restaurant's (where corner beef is always the winner). it's both a blessing and a curse i've been able to taste this magic, as the standard that it upholds is something that will follow me around for the rest of my life. i'm not sure if anything else will ever come close. get the regular noodles. they're deliciously firm and honestly a bit on the chewy side. they dance with the broth beautifully - im just now realizing that all roads lead back to the absolute perfection they call broth. don't get the cucumber appetizer though. it's $7, and i can honestly make it better at home myself. DO get the fried chicken with basil if you're a fan of chicken (it's not pictured, but trust me, i've had it). another thing to note is that they're closed for 45 days in summer 2024 - definitely make time in your schedule to treat yourself to this noodle soup masterpiece.

Yelp
This is probably the richest, darkest broth I've had for beef noodles. The noodles are perfectly chewy, and the beef was super flavourful. Though it is a pricey bowl for the are (I think the total was $20+ with tip), it is SO worth it and the perfect pick-me-up for lunch. Service was swift and good. They use Venmo and Zelle, so you don't have to worry about cash! The restaurant has plenty of seating but don't expect anything fancy. Still a good place to take a break from work and have a chat.

Yelp
The portion is huge but the food is not good here.  We came due to the high Yelp reviews (what gives?) but we will stick to Why Thirsty in San Gabriel. The beef in the beef noodle soup was dry and chewy. The spice they used was really off and tasted gamey, it makes me feel like I was eating lamb not beef. Lamb is a big no no for me. We also shared the fried red pork rice plate.  Half of the meat was pure fat so it was not edible at all.  The only saving grace was the cucumber salad. Will not return.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite beef noodle joint in the 626. Can't beat the meat to price ratio as they give you a hefty amount of protein. The broth is rich with flavors and the pickled veggies they give you enhances it. Service was always attentive and fast. Not waiting more than 5mins before your bowl of deliciousness arrives.

Yelp
When you think about the best beef noodle soup spots in the SGV, Corner Beef Noodle House is definitely in the conversation. It's a family-operated spot with down to earth service in a large dining space. It's cash only, although you can still pay with Venmo or Zelle. This is a comfortable place to grab a satisfying bowl or take a container of frozen soup to go if you want to try to do this yourself. Beef Stew Noodle: On a cold drizzly day, is there anything better than a giant bowl of hot beef noodle soup? The reddish-brown beef broth is so dark that you can practically see the flavor before you taste it. With your first sip, you immediately understand how much time and effort was spent coaxing the flavor out of the beef. It also has a nice little hint of spiciness. The beef is tender yet still firm from the lengthy cooking time - especially the bits with tendon. There are versions with tendon that cost more. Go for it, and you will be glad you paid extra for all that glorious gelatinous tendon. Unless tendon isn't your thing, then by all means, skip it. You have a choice of thick (regular) or thin noodles. The thick noodles have the right amount of chewiness that stands up against the full-flavored broth. Tender pieces of bok choy and scallions provide also provide some crispness to the soup. The little tub of mustard greens adds tanginess. With a ladle for a spoon, you are encouraged to slurp it all up! A word of caution. If you're not careful, the broth can easily stain your clothing. So, either eat carefully or don't wear your finest white shirt. This is confirmed by the sign on the wall that says "bibs will be provided upon request." Parking: The lot is large and still cramped.

Yelp
If you want authentic Taiwanese food, you need to check this place out! All the food we got was delicious! Although the tripe was good, it wasn't the best. Maybe the seasoning or the texture wasn't to my liking but that's just my opinion! My favorite was definitely the popcorn chicken. It was crunchy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. They only take cash venmo or Zelle so make sure to check before you go! It was pretty busy when we ate here but we got seated fast. For everything we got, it was a little pricey than I expected. But I had an amazing meal here so I would definitely come back again!

Yelp
This place definitely hit the spot for authentic Taiwanese food. Came here with a group of 3 at 11:30 AM on a Sunday and we were able to get seated immediately. The restaurant is in a plaza so parking wasn't too difficult, but we did notice that the lot was quite full. Ordered the fried bean sauce noodles, popcorn chicken, chili oil wontons, and the sesame/peanut mochi. Portion sizes were quite large. I enjoyed the texture of the thick noodles in the fried bean sauce, and they definitely don't skimp out on the toppings or the sauce. The wrappers of the chili oil wontons were delicate while the pork stuffing was hearty. I also liked the ratio of the popcorn chicken batter to the meat, and appreciated how much fried basil there was. That being said, my favorite thing here was actually the sesame/peanut mochi. It came out hot and was slightly cut into pieces for our sharing convenience. I was shocked to discover that this was comparable to fresh mochi I've had in Taiwan--the QQ texture of the mochi and the nuttiness of the peanut and sesame powder was amazing. Service was fast and the waitress was friendly. Cash, Venmo, or Zelle accepted.

Yelp
Why didn't I know about this place before?? I used to live so much closer but now that I've tried it, I will happily make the drive just for the beef & tendon noodle soup. At first, hubby and I did think the food was a bit pricey, but the quality justifies that. Two large slices of tender beef and several pieces of soft gooey tendon. Very generous by today's standard now. I got the regular noodles and they were cooked so perfectly (more on the al dente side). Would definitely order that again when the craving hits. Wontons in spicy sauce is also a must-get. Never had a I had such large and tender wontons. The sauce was sweet and spicy and just so addicting. We enjoyed the popcorn chicken as well, which consisted of large pieces of chicken and lots of fried basil. A proper hole in the wall mom&pop establishment but man were they busy for the lunch rush on a Saturday. Lots of people buying items for takeout and they have frozen items too!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic beef stew noodle, I would highly recommend this place. You can select the spice level and also the noodle type. I'm a fan of thin noodle because it picks up more soup and flavor as you eat. I also tried their dry noodle, popcorn chicken and fried pork chop rice, all very yummy and huge portions. You can also add noodles and more than enough for 2 people if you want to share a few selections. You also must get their mochi at the end of your meal, it is soooo good and stretchy. Their hours of operation is a little weird, but most weekends are open.

Yelp
Nestled in a crowded plaza with very little parking for the amount of businesses, is a popular beef noodle soup restaurant. Only two front staff servicing quite a bit of tables so you will need to politely flag them down to place order and request anything else. It would be nice to have the menu indicate if the dish is spicy or not and if it is a possibility to dial down the spice. This is one of the few places I have been to that give good amount of beef and is very tender. Portion size matches the pricing and we were able to take leftovers home because of the misjudgement of portion size. The regular noodles reminds me of udon consistency and texture. I must say the pork chop is really good and should be ordered if you can eat pork. I would return to this establishment to try other things on the menu that looked interesting, but didn't have enough stomach space for. It is cash only, but read reviews that they accept venmo and zelle?

Yelp
Hands down THE BEST BEEF NOODLE STEW in the 626. As an avid beef noodle soup girl, I have gone around socal trying to find something that will always satisfy my craving, and this is for sure the spot. The soup is extremely flavorful and coats the noodles perfectly to make every bite a flavor bomb. They've perfected the balance of spices, and do not have that sour mala flavor that some other soups usually have when you get it spicy. The thick noodles are so chewy and delicious, everything is just well balanced and amazing. Also their mochi is the best way to finish off your meal with the nutty flavors.

Yelp
I was taken here on date night for my favorite - Taiwanese beef noodle soup! It's honestly not easy finding a place that serves the perfect bowl as there are so many elements at play: broth, noodles, meat, and a sprinkle of veggies. I ordered the half beef half tendon beef noodle soup and it was DELICIOUS. Broth (9/10) - the broth was perfectly hearty without being too oily or heavy. You can taste that it's been stewed for many hours to get that pack of flavor. It's not super spicy but you can ask for a side of chili oil to add to your liking - which I did, and the chili oil took me by surprise by just how spicy it was. Noodles (10/10) - noodles were perfectly chewy!!! They have both thin and thick noodles, and if you know whats up you HAVE to get the thick noodles. They were perfectly chewy and great quality, you could tell they're freshly made in house. Not easy to find a place that perfects the noodle aspect of the bowl!! Meat - (10/10) - the beef shank was very tender! They definitely cooked it long enough (I've experienced it where it was tough and hard to chew, meaning it was undercooked). There were also a generous amount of pieces, more than I could actually consume which is very much appreciated. Glad they don't skimp on the meat! Overall, Corner Beef Noodle House delivers a fantastic bowl of Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I would 100% come back anytime I'm craving it!

Yelp
Small business in El monte has variety of foods. Their mochi is so GOOD! The res pork is thick and fried perfectly Beef noodles soup is a must order item as it is their store name Overall good food, not that busy restaurant and they take zelle or venmo for payment form.

Yelp
We were all craving 牛肉麵 for lunch, so a friend found this spot that has apparently been around for over 30 years! The spot feels hole-in-the-wall-y, but it definitely got really busy while we were there. For whatever noodle you order, you get to choose whether you want thick or thin noodle, so I went for their beef stew noodle soup ($14.99) with thick noodles. We also ordered popcorn chicken ($9.99), seaweed ($6.85), cucumber ($6.85) and bean curd ($6.85). The serving size for the noodle soup was so big and I was not even able to finish. They were also super generous with the amount of meat given, so it was definitely a good bang for your buck! I also loved all the side dishes we got, especially the bean curd and cucumber.
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
The portion was huge, it was 3 meals, 2 meals for me and one for my boyfriend. The beef melts in your mouth, I got the thin noodles which were perfect. The soup is on the lighter side. There is plenty of parking and payment is accepted in cash, Venmo or Zelle.
google avatar

Quoc H.

Yelp
Service was good Popcorn chicken was good. Spicy although we told them mild. Veggies were good. Chicken was moist and crispy. Peanut and sesame dessert was pretty good. So why the 2 stars? The beef noodle soup with tendon...tasted funny. The soup tasted a little sour or had a funk to it. I should've stopped eating but I thought it was maybe from the pickled veggies, that was actually i'm the side though. The beef noodle soup gave me a pretty bad stomach ache about an hour later. It made me want to throw up. Food poisoning....I think so. The gf got the same. We both had really bad diarrhea. Im positive it's from the beef noodle. I would not come back here.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times and it always hits. Be warned this will usually be a pretty heavy meal. One thing to note is the beef noodle soup here is more on the heavy side with a strong beef flavor. If you like strong flavors then this is the place for you. This is what I got. Beef Stew (Half Tendon/ Half Meat) - Strong flavors with noodles that have a bit of a chew. Delicious but will leave you in a food coma. Portion is pretty big so I shared this. (4.5/5) XO Sauce On Noodle (Dry) - The xo sauce is very comforting and delicious. It's a solid dish but doesn't have much meat so it's nice to have some type of meat on the side. Carb heavy. (4.5/5) Popcorn Chicken - I thought the popcorn chicken here is better than all the tea houses around. Crispy, not super greasy and just delicious. (4.5/5) Overall just a solid place for beef noodle soup. They do not accept cards but will accept Zelle/Venmo so bring cash if you can. Not busy on a Friday night! Pretty good service the day I came too.

Yelp
When first stepping inside, the restaurant looked old and not very appealing. Lots of tables are placed pretty close to each other, leaving not a lot of room for walking. They still do not accept debit or credit cards, so they seem old-fashioned as well. Luckily, the food was much better than how the place looks. I had the beef stew noodle with thick noodle. The bowl was served while the soup was still piping hot. The broth was really good and flavorful. The beef was tender and came in a generous portion. The thick noodles were nice and chewy. This is what you call authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Parking lot is shared with other businesses, including a popular dim sum restaurant. From my experience, the lot quickly becomes full, especially at peak lunch/dinner hours.
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
The Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup here is incredibly delicious. The portion is pretty big with generous amounts of stewed beef and chewy noodles; enough for two people imo. They recommended the thicker noodles, so that's what I got. The beef broth tasted smooth, beefy, slightly tangy;no trace of msg. If there is msg in the soup, it is very little. The gal that took my order was very sweet and attentive. She made recommendations and checked on me often even though they were short on staff. The restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall situation, but very comfy at the same time. CASH Only Parking in a private lot in the shared plaza of Ocean Bo Dim Sum and a laundromat (read: weekends sux).

Yelp
I saw this place on Instagram a bunch of times and I love beef noodle soup, so I was really excited to check it out! El Monte is a bit of a hike from DTLA as a student, so I managed to try it on a trip back from the mountains. My favorite part of beef noodle soup is how each family and restaurant makes it a little differently. I ordered the Beef Stew Noodle (紅燒牛肉麵). Corner Beef's noodles are super chewy and the broth is just the right amount of savory and spicy. You can feel the tiniest kick, so it's a flavor that's accessible to most people. However, the beef was cut in very large chunks -- I've had better meat in beef noodle soup elsewhere in the 626 and I've made more tender beef myself. It's also pretty expensive comparatively, priced at $15+. I would also recommend bringing a Chinese-speaking person, since the waitstaff is much more responsive to Mandarin than English and your order will have less hiccups. They also don't take card -- only cash, Venmo, or Zelle. I'd be curious to try some of their other dishes, though!

Yelp
This is for togo only: I was craving beef noodle soup for the longest time and this place hit the spot. I haven't been here in ages but it still taste great! Beefy, savory, mildly spicy, the pickled mustard green gave it a nice sweet and savory touch and noodles were cooked to perfection. Service for Togo was quick and my order was ready when I got there.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
We came with a large party so a bit of a wait! We were able to split up and they were accommodating in seating us. Small mom and pop shop! They only take cash/venmo/zelle so keep that in mind. Everything we got was good and portions were large! They also have the broths for purchase to make at home! So cool!

Eric W.

Yelp
Discovered this spot from a friend who suggested the meeting place. I was pleasantly surprised, the flavor of the dishes were tasty, however if you don't like overly salty food, suggest you ask them to prepare less salty. It seems like there are several reviews about how salty the dishes were. Service was your standard mom and pop Chinese food joint. Must get the Fried Monascus Pork (紅糟肉) - it's a Taiwanese staple and they make it really well.
google avatar

Felix D.

Yelp
CASH ONLY! Venmo/Zelle as well. Came here around 1 pm on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating. Came here for the beef noodle soup and it did not disappoint. The noodles had the perfect chew and the thickness of the noodles help the rich beef broth cling on. Big chunks of beef and soft tendon. The fried pork was delicious with the pickled cucumbers. Spiced well and crispy crunch. Will be coming back when I am in the area!

Yelp
During the gloomy / rainy weather , my go-to comfort food would be beef noodle soup. This spot is my bf's favorite spot and I can definitely approve. This place is a small hole in the wall taiwanese diner located at a plaza in the el monte area. Has plenty of parking . FYI , prepare to pay with cash / venmo/ zelle . 1. Offall beef noodle soup : this one had generous portion of meat , tendon and tripe . We opted for the thick cut noodles which I think is hand-pulled , has really good qq texture .The Broth was not too heavy, rich , flavorful & had a hint of tang in it . 2. Minced pork dry noodle : had minced pork & small cuts of tofu which was well seasoned . The sliced cucumber topping added a refreshing contrast to the oily minced pork.

Yelp
Excellent flavor. Does not take credit card. Takes cash, venmo, zelle In a plaza so parking available . Very expensive prices. Some of the best beef Noodle soup. Has a hint of spice. The soup is deep, rich. Can taste the Anise star. Beef noodle soup $16.50 Half beef noodle soup, half tendon $18.50 The tendon was super super soft. The beef was soft but still had texture, it's not mushy. The noodles are the refrigerated thick noodles. Fried Pork chop over rice Pork has Nice crunch, the inside is super soft, strong flavor of white pepper. This is on Par with P-P-po, but not as good causes prices are quite high.

Yelp
This Restaraunt opens again for dinner at 5pm and We came Friday at 5:10pm and there was empty tables open, but noticed the tables fill up quick. By the time we got our food the Restaraunt was filled. We ordered the offal noodle soup which is the beef noodle soup but with everything! It has beef, tendon and tripe. We opted for the larger noodles and they were cooked perfectly. I love the noodle soup because it was actually spicy. The soup was so flavorful and spicy it hit the spot for me. We also ordered the red grain pork chop. The pork chop dish came with rice with ground meat on top, preserved bamboo, veggies, and cucumber salad. The rice with ground meat was sooo delicious, and the pork chop was perfectly crispy and crunch on the outside but super soft and tender on the inside. Definitly coming back here to try more of their items. I was not dissapointed.

Yelp
It's inside a plaza, parking can get pack during weekdays lunch time and the parking spot is very compact. We came on a Tuesday afternoon. It's definitely like a mom and pop shop. It was packed. We got seated by the door and it was windy. It was very simple interior design, mostly to eat and leave. Got the noodles, beef noodles, cucumber and pork chop. The noodle broth is very simple and oniony. The beef noodle is the one to go for. Very flavorful and thick slice of meat. Cucumber was not fresh, it was prepackaged. Pork chop was nicely cooked and crispy. They added some black pepper and other ingredient that made it sweet.

Yelp
Always my go to spot when the weather is alittle moody, or I'm craving something warm and hearty. I always order the Offal Noodle Soup which comes with the brisket, tendons, and the tripe and it always is super rich and tasty. No frills type of ambiance, and the service is not really anything notable but the food always hits home. Recently they finally added a card reader as well

Yelp
Awesome beef noodle soup, had a bit of mala taste for those that can't handle spicy I didn't really taste it while the soup was hot but when I ate the leftovers cold at home I could taste it. Popcorn chicken was okay, not bad, not great. One thing I really liked was the honey lemon aiyu jelly drink! They also have a good selection of refrigerated togo items!

Yelp
Our family LOVES and I mean LOVES Beef Noodle Soup and have tried plenty in the San Gabriel Valley area without having to venture too far from Arcadia either. Been hearing about Corner Beef so thought we'd try. STICK with their Beef Noodle Soup options and you'll be happy. Don't look at anything else especially the Wonton Noodle Soup (yuck actually). Though large wontons stuffed to the max however when it's a lot of not deliciousness, it's just a big waste. The PorkChop rice was decent except the sides. They have a large freezer with frozen soups to go which is a great offering! We'd prefer to come back here than Dai Ho though coz it's not as good as before (pre-COVID) Other favs are: Kang Kang FoodCourt Dumpling House Mr. dragon Mandarin Noodle house Apt Liang Xi 1919 Lan Noodle

Yelp
This place used to be good but the last time I went, beef was tough and chewy af. I agree with other review that said the soup tastes kinda gamey. Very expensive compared to other places too.

Yelp
We were seated instantly. Shared parking lot. The waiter was quick and efficient although this is a place where you should know what you're ordering. They really don't have the man power for you to wait around. The food came out instantly with some fermented cabbage. The bowl was pretty huge and the portion size was very generous. The soup was very beefy and you could taste all the various spices that were used. It was bold and intense and every piece of meat was cooked so tenderly. Honestly this was such a great and hearty meal. They take cash or Venmo. No CC. Definitely would come back! Wish we shared a bowl and maybe tried some of their apps. All in all a very good experience!

Yelp
They only accept venmo or cash! The beef noodle soup portion is HUGE! It was easily two meals for me! They give you pickles on the side, which helps make the soup a bit more acidic! The soup itself was hearty and very flavorful. The beef is tender enough to break apart easily. I wish they gave more bok choy though! I recommend ordering the popcorn chicken as an appetizer. They give you huge pieces, the chicken is juicy and crispy, and they season it really well!

Yelp
The broth was a little unusual, and from what my friend told me, not typical of this place. It was sweeter than one would expect. But it still wasn't bad and the portions of noodles and beef are frankly a little bonkers. We also got the tofu skin and sausage/garlic appetizer and both were quite good. I really liked the sausage in particular which was pleasingly sweet and fluffy.

Yelp
Food is very good. Only accept cash or Venmo/Zelle. Soup and chicken are very delicious. Place has a lot of seats. Gets pretty busy. I wish they opened more hours.

Yelp
The best beef noodle soup ever. I have been trying to find some authentic Taiwanese beef noodles everywhere. So far, nothing has compared to Taiwan until I found this gem!! The soup was so delicious, the mild is really mild so it was a good spice. Their portion is huge. I got their thin noodle and it was packed with flavor! They hand made their noodles and its apparent with their taste. Pork chop portion was AMAZING. And so so good. So crispy and juicy- not overcooked. 10/10 Dry minced noodle pork: 8/10. Came with a large portion but could use a little more salt. Overall, everything was delicious. I drove 45 minutes to come here and try it and it was well worth the drive. Taking my brother here next time! (-:

Yelp
The beef noodle soup was alright with a decent portion for $14.99. I liked the chewiness of the noodles and the flavoring of the soup. The pieces of beef could've been better cause they were hard to chew. Service was decent and there was no wait when we came around 1 pm. They had some Taiwanese music playing in the background which was nice.

Yelp
Love the beef noodle soup here. The soup is so flavorful and the beef is so tender. I like to ask them for extra pickled cabbage. They are quick too as I usually get my order within ten minutes. They are open for lunch only from Tuesday to Thursday. Friday to Sunday are the only days they are open for dinner. They are located in the same plaza as Ocean Bo and Mama Teahouse so parking can be hard to find during peak hours.

Yelp
This Taiwanese noodle house has the best spicy wontons I ever had. It comes with a good portion of large pork wontons (golf size balls as reference) with their special chili sauce and topped off with green onion. I was driving around El Monte looking for something to eat and I noticed this restaurant tucked in a little plaza. Luckily it's on a main street or else I wouldn't have stumbled into this gem. The food was great! Every dish had an authentic taste and gives you a nostalgic feel when you bite into it. The staff are really friendly. The food was great and you could tell that the ingredients are fresh and made to order. The price was just right too especially with the portion they give you. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try authentic Taiwanese food!

Yelp
The beef noodle was good. Portion was a good amount. Just need a little more flavor or spice to it. I've had it better elsewhere. Staff were friendly.
