After the City Shut it Down, Corona Plaza’s Food Vendors Have Returned - Eater NY

"Corona Plaza’s food vendors were forced to shut down by the city due to sanitation issues. After protests and support from public figures, the vendors are allowed to return with limitations. Only 10 vendors are permitted now, compared to the previous 80. The new hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sales tax must now be paid by merchants." - Emma Orlow

Corona Plaza - Review - New York - The Infatuation

"Right off the 7 train stop at 103rd Street, there's a densely packed cluster of stands selling tamales, chuzos, esquites, and more. The outdoor market wraps around the edge of Corona Plaza, and you can circumnavigate the whole thing in about two minutes. On the south side, you'll find birria, pozole, and a few vendors assembling tacos on freshly made tortillas. Head north, and you can grab some Ecuadorian specialities like tripa mishqui. If you don't know where to start, swing by Quesadillas Lola in the southwest corner and try one of the namesake items stuffed with chorizo and potatoes." - Bryan Kim

If you're looking to snag some really good street tacos, tamales, or deep fried food, you're in the right spot. A really understated and overlooked gem in the heart of Queens. The tamales, if you get there on time, are hot, ready to eat, and absolutely delicious. Look for two ladies on the corner pushing a shopping cart with a HUGE pot filled to the brim. Turn yourself around and be bombarded by at least 3 taco carts selling all kinds of street tacos that will leave your wallet and stomach happy. Need a fresh quesadilla? Say no more and you'll find ladies hand pressing the masa to make your tortilla fresh with a number of toppings you won't find at your local Chipotle. Mexican food not your style, don't worry, right on the corner you'll find two stands with grills and oil serving up all kinds of meats and French fries, potatoes and corn. Just take your pick, find a seat, and enjoy. You will not be disappointed.

Incredibly messy and dirty because of the unlicensed street vendors.
