While the service here is garbage, the Cannoli (4.5/5) is very good and probably one of the better if not the best cannolis in NYC. The small Sfogliatelle was nice also (3.5/5) but dry. Cannoli (4.5/5) - Almost the perfect cannoli except the shell tasted a little bit burnt. The filing was perfect - creamy, milky ricotta with small little chocolate chips which wasn't overly sweet. Lots of places will mix cream in but not this place - the filing was decadent. Sfogliatelle (3/5) - the outer shell was lovely nice and crispy and held its shape even when I cut into it, but while the filing is tasty and has great notes of orange, it's quite dry. Also the service is ridiculous - the lady at the counter wouldn't accept my money because it had a small tear in it. If the bank can accept it, why can't you?

been going there for over 20 years and its still the best. when you are in Brooklyn or traveling through The Court Street Pastry shop is a must to stop in to get the best cookies & pastries.

Even do my family and I move to another neighborhood, we always feel at home entering into this amazing Bakery. Since the 60s my Grandparents bought everything here and thanks God they keep those amazing recipe untouch, is like having a TIME MACHINE, being able to travel back in time, to a better era. Love coming and eating their desserts, cakes and breads, and I never miss their Ice-Cream, they are to die for.

I’m only rating their Italian ice which was such a welcome treat after walking around on a crazy hot day. I got the small lemon Italian ice and it was 💯. The picture was taken after a block of eating :) I love that old school small businesses are still a big part of the Court Street scene.

Took an advice from an old friend and got myself a pound of Italian “everything” cookies plus several rainbow cookies on top. I brought them to thanksgiving dinner and were favored. I’m gonna get myself some soon.

Original Brooklyn as it gets. One of the last of the orginal places left in carol gardens . I happen to believe the cheese cake here is like no other. Light, fluffy and delicious. The pastry is simple but done just so right . Outstanding cannoli should be mentioned as well

Very very disappointed in the cookies. I’ve had cookies and pastries from this bakery my whole life(68 years) and today I was in Brooklyn and HAD to stop for fancy cookies. I can’t believe the taste. Awful. And the sandwich cookies used to be filled with delicious jelly. Now there’s some kind of pink stuff that is hard and sticky like glue. What the hell are they doing there!! What a major disappointment!!!

Good service, not that pricey, and incredible, straightforward Italian pastries. I'm probably biased cause this was my neighborhood bakery growing up, but they still make the best eclairs, cannolis, and lobster tails in my mind. Always happy to see that it's still there.

Thank you Court Street! For keeping the chocolate cannolis perrrrfect!! We have so few treasured authentic Italian bakeries left. Let's hope they never change.

They sell ices!!! I got the custard which was yummy and had nuts in it. My kid got the lemon ice which was super tasty and made me regret my decision! They had chocolate and pistachio which I will try another time! Yes they have cookies which we love but I never saw them with ices!!!

A friend of mine who grew up in the area has always spoke highly of Court Pastry Shop. We were in Brooklyn to see a show and I had to stop by to grab cookies for my family and send some to her now that she lives in VA. The counter workers were lovely and pleasant to chat with and gave great recommendations. Additionally they had extra cannoli that they sent home with us when they heard we had kids. I've heard in the past they only take cash but now, since Covid, they take charge as well. We'll be back when we visit Brooklyn again!

I stopped by Court Pastry again today for the millionth time since I first tried it in 1985. This is the OG. The real deal. Take the cannolis.

I've been eating these cookies my entire life. My aunt brought some for Christmas this year and the cookies were amazing !! The best cookies I've ever had. Especially the pignoli cookies

A moment of appreciation for Court Pastry's truly *excellent* Italian ices. The summer-only item is offered from a sidewalk window in limited flavors-- but what do you need a million flavors for, when you have perfect simplicity? I go for chocolate or lemon. The chocolate isn't too sweet, kind of a light cocoa-y granita effect. The lemon is as tart and bright as homemade lemonade, an almost sorbet-like smoothness. It's tempting to order a big size, sure-- but small/medium comes in a classic paper cup that charmingly wrinkles and bends as you slurp to race the melting heat. If you're inclined to go for an after-dinner treat make it an early supper, as they close promptly at 8pm. The whole business is a true historical gem of the neighborhood, it certainly feels like it hasn't changed much since they got started in the 1940s. I know others adore their baked goods, I haven't tried them myself in a while. But the Italian ices are at the top of my authentic Brooklyn summer must-haves.

Limited bakery selection. Bakery items are on the cusp of mediocrity. I think the ownership has changed because I see a difference in things as as they were and as they are. It did not feel right. A local staple in Cobble Hill. I can see why this was a hit back in the day, but I think its best years are behind it. The girls behind the counter are aloof. They look like they want to take care of you the bare minimum so they can get back to drinking their iced coffees and being on their cell phones. A lack of interest in the job is apparent. I did not feel valued as a customer. Overrated and underwhelmed.

Internally I got excited when I saw the cannolis because I thought they were made with a chocolate shell. It wasn't until I got home and took them out that I realized that the dark brown color wasn't a chocolate based flour but that they were over cooked until they were a dark crispy burnt brown. The cream inside was not sweet, it didn't even taste like it had any ricotta or confectionery sugar in it. The sponge cake which came in its own individual wrapped plastic bag because it had so much liquid in it. It was too too much liquid, it tasted like water that was tinted light brown. It's supposed to be a sweet sticky liquid which it wasn't, it was like have soggy falling apart bread in a broth. Also there was barely any custard in this pastry. The sfogliatella was overcooked and dry. The store does not carry a lot of products and the four pastries we bought for $14 were poorly made. This is a one and done visit. I see no reason to ever go back or recommend this business and it was a waste of our hard earned $14.

I'm not crazy about the Italian baked goods, but the Italian ice was delicious! Even a small cup was more than enough to fill me up, especially on a hot day. I got the custard flavor, which seems more like an almond flavor. It was even better than expected with a refreshing and light flavor. There are even chunks and bits of almond mixed in there. Order up at the window for the Italian ice.

i messaged through Facebook & spoke to an actual person to place order for 2 lbs of cookies, shipped to FL, delivery ON 9/9. Was advised this would be do-able. Received package (not marked as handle with care at all) on 9/5, fewer than 1 doz whole cookies, mostly crumbs & broken bits. Contacted Court Pastry immediately, an apology was given & "the shipping company should have put the label on it." No refund, reshipment or any attempt to make this right. POOR customer service & the few intact cookies were not fresh for my event on 9/11. Do not recommend !

Really good old school Italian pastry shop. When I walk in, I'm transported back in time to the 1970's and my grandmother is speaking to the counter person in broken english. Whether you try their cookies, cakes or pastries you're guaranteed to have a smile on your face. My all-time favorite is the sfogliatelle....... otherwise known as an Italian lobster claw pastry. Get some!!

We've had Court Street cookies, biscotti, and pastries at every holiday since before I can remember in my family. Finally made the trip out to visit and I was not disappointed! The people were so nice and the place smells amazing! The best pignoli cookies I've ever had!

Don't sleep on the apple turnovers - they are perfection! I also love the almond cookies and biscotti. The people who work there are lovely - kind and friendly.

This review is for Court Pastry Shop's sfogliatelle, which, admittedly, is only the second or third time I've ever tried it, but by far the best. After watching The Great British Bake Off's episode featuring sfogliatelle as the showstopper challenge, one of the show's most demanding pastries and described by Prue as "pure murder," I had a greater appreciation of the enormous skill and labor involved in its creation. The sfogliatelle at Court Pastry Shop was superb. The filo-like pastry was crispy and flaky, while the filling of ricotta and fragrant orange peel was abundant and wonderfully flavorful. At $3 a piece, it is fairly priced. I would definitely return to try other Italian pastries at this old-school Italian bakery.

I visited this pastry shop today at approximayely 3:30pm and was greeted with very exyremely poor customer service. The counter girl who serves us, didn't smile, no greeting, didn't make us feel welcome and only stated, "anything else," as we placed our order. Even after paying, she didn't say thank you, come again, or anything that should be common place for a service business. I'm sure the owner can figure out who I am referring too based on the date and time we visited the shop. Your worker needs interpersonal and customer service training as she is an extremely poor worker. Furthermore, to my dismay one of the items I purchased was old, extremely hard and not edible at all!! If I did not live so far, I would have returned it. Anyhow, this was a deeply disappointing experience at a shop I once loved!!

This place looks old because hello, it is!, but it is a tried and true treasure in the Cobble Hill scene. I've had the cannoli ($3), lobster tail ($4), and sfogliatelle ($3) and they were all delightful. While all good, the cannoli was truly the gem. It could possibly be the best cannoli I've ever had (eva, eva eva). NOTE: Credit cards accepted at $10 if not ca$h only, pals! Thanks for lasting in the neighborhood all these years and here's to many for you, Court Pastry Shop! P.S. I dare you to say sfogliatelle properly.

Delicious cookies! Friendly staff. The classic cookie are the perfect texture and rich in flavor. Never dry like you sometimes find. An elderly friend of mine has been fighting cancer and hasn't been able to eat much and lost a lot of weight. I brought him a small box of cookies and he ate almost all of them in one night! The layered rainbow cookies are perfect. Really nice jelly to cookie to chocolate ratio. I also have loved the Italian sandwich cookies, linzer tarts, and the tasty little shortbread cookies with chocolate topping (I don't know what they're called).

Best cannolis ever! Trust me. The green and beige cookie with the cherry in the middle were amazing too. So much nostalgia whenever I step foot into this bakery.

I found this from TicTac So I had a venture out it was in the neighborhood I said let me go check this place out antique looking store from back in the days bring back memories so I bought a couple things pastries apple turnover It was good so brought another one flaky crust only downside I had was not enough apple filling And those cookies were amazing will be going back there again

Bad bad bad pastries. Cannoli cream was sour and it was too late for two of us - nothing but pains in our stomachs ALL DAY. Never again - We will stick with our REGULAR Bakery and NOT take recommendations again.

Grabbed a lobster tail from Court Pastry Shop while doing the wait for Lucali. I have to say it was more or less perfect - the texture of the pastry wasn't too sharp, and the cream (usually my least favorite part) had great flavor and consistency. Also, as you probably know from reading the other reviews, it's roughly the size of a small child. I got three servings out of it. Will have to try the rainbow cookies next time!

Favorite cannoli in Brooklyn and only place where I enjoy both the chocolate and vanilla cannoli. They also have amazing cheesecake and my go to is plain. During the warmer/hotter days they have delicious Italian ice and my go to is chocolate and cherry mix. That combo is just so good. Come for cannoli and cheesecake and be happy.

Have been there in the past and have not had any issues. The biscotti and rainbow cookies are delicious. Went in today and the girl that helped me was annoyed she was told she needed to help a customer. When I got home I noticed that the eclairs I had brought was not even wrapped before placing it in a bag so the chocolate topping was all inside the bag and the rainbow cookies which were put in the bag with the biscotti had been smushed. So disappointed will never be back.

A colleague introduced me to this amazing authentic Italian pastry shop. All their pastries are always fresh and delicious. My go-to is their cheesecake - a must try!! During my most recent trip during Covid, precautions were taken by the staff and customers. Masks were worn and they limited the number of customers who could enter the store.

I love this bakery because it's not flashy like the others with their mile long displays of nearly the same things in 5 different variations. Imagine this place a sort of no BS original Brooklyn Italian bakery. On my last visit I got cannoli, sfogliatelle, and a St. Joseph's pastry. All great choices. As I mentioned before I like how this bakery doesn't have a huge selection because I find that the bakeries that have bigger selections tend to sell the same stuff just presented differently. Don't worry though this place has all the Italian basics covered when it comes to cookies and cakes. When I eventually stuffed my face with all the sweets I realized that this may have been the best cannoli I've had in a while. Everything was fresh, crisp, and not overly sweet. The sfogliatelle is good enough to pass the Nonno/Nonna test. The staff is sweet with no attitudes and the place is clean. Did I mention the prices? They're great too! I think 4 pastries which were large cost around $11 if I remember correctly. I will definitely be returning and I suggest you visit this place as it's a Brooklyn breed!

Excellent Italian pastries and Italian cookies. My family has been going there for generations.

I stopped in browse as I was waiting for my mom to finish at the salon a few storefronts over. It was a pretty hot day, so their window for Italian ice was pretty popular. I spotted rainbow cookies in the case, so I ordered a pound of them to do. I enjoyed the rainbow cookies, but noted that there was definitely a lot of inconsistency within the box. Some of the cookies were very dry while others were moister. There were some cookies that had more jam. I'm a jam girl when it comes to rainbow cookies, so some of them tasted fantastic, while others were just meh. My sister said the cookies tasted minty, which I didn't really get? All in all, it was not a bad purchase!

I just had the BEST custard flavored ice in all of NY!!!!! I've tried so many places, including Lemon Ice King in Corona, but these remain unbeaten in my eyes. The cannolis are to die for. The only ones that come a bit close to these are from Starbuck Reserve in Chelsea. Mind you, they'll be at least twice as much money. Thank you for keeping your prices fair and thank you for not selling crap like most Italian bakeries sell nowadays!!! No pics. I ate it all!!!!!

I have been going to this pastry shop since I was a little girl. Everytime I go to NY, I HAVE to come to Court Pastry. This time, once again, it did not disappoint, and has not changed ONE BIT since the early 70's. That is very rare, especially in Brooklyn, which is almost 100% gentrified and hipsterized... hurry and go before all traces of true Italian-American Brooklynese culture is completely erased by these vultures! Court's cookies have no rival- they're all here: tri-colors (neapolitans) pignolas, biscotti, butter/jam, savayardi, marzipan. Best cannoli in NY? Look no further. Their cannoli come in chocolate (the cream part) in addition to the regular vanilla cream. Their cannoli shell is the best! They also have these little cakes called "Virgin Breasts", grain pies (only true Italianos know what those are), these mini semolina pies filled with custard, and sfogliatelle pastry crispy as the night is long... I'm dying for one right now with an espresso! If you are fortunate enough to visit in summer, get an italian ice. Try the "cremalotta"- so freeekin delicious, I die. Every time. This is the REAL deal people... this is no "Cake Boss " b.s. Its the Real Deal. That is All.

I was horrified to bite into a cannoli from Court Street Bakery last night and find a large roach mixed into the cream. I will not be returning.

The best cannolis u will ever have. This place does not disappoint all other pastries are up to par. This place is one of the last places still in business from the old neighborhood. I miss the old neighborhood when everybody knew each other and it was a real community. I walk through court street now it's all strangers the neighborhood lost it's identity but it didn't lose court street pastry.

I hope this place never closes down. I have been coming here for pastrys since I was a young girl. It's a tradition in my family to come here for the st.michaels pastrys which are always fresh and delicious. Whenever I'm remotely close I find a way to make it to court street pastry shop. I've never had a stale or okay desert here it's always been fantastic. P.s there custard ice cream or ice not sure what it's called exactly but I could eat it all day

Been going to Court Street Pastry for years, was just there about an hours ago to get my favorite Schviadel. I ask for 2 of them give the girl behind counter payment, I noticed they were burnt. I never touched them. I ask the girl for 2 that weren't burnt. She tells me they are all the same, she didn't lie they were all burnt on the bottom. I ask for my money back and was told we don't return money only store credit. I told her that's ridiculous. So she hands a receipt with the word credit on it. Does this sound like good business to anyone. Just lost me as a costumer. Went to Monteleone told them what happened. They couldn't believe that. Just be warned about this. No wonder Monteleone has lines out the door, and Court Street Pastry doesn't.

Last Friday morning I was very upset with my experience here, was expecting more. The girl in the morning with the long black hair looked miserable to be there and did not greet me with a smile whatsoever. I have to say she was quite nasty. If you're going to work in customer service you should at least understand how to be polite to customers. Never coming here again, lost my service specially because of this girl. Still have a bad taste in my mouth not only because of the watery ice, but be because if the girl in the morning...

This is a long time favorite. We love taking a drive to Brooklyn to visit this bakery. Never been disappointed! Large variety all is always fresh and workers are very friendly. During COVID-19 only 3 customers are permitted inside the store, all employees were with masks too. They had Italian iced available also.

What you need to know: - This is an old-school family run business, the family has roots from Naples. - They have been selling traditional Italian pastries, cookies, cannolis, sfogliatelle, seven-layer cookies and more since 1948! - Cash only - This review is only for their cheesecake. What I ordered: - Plain cheesecake - it is approximately 6 inches in diameter and it's ONLY $7.50!!!! It is delightfully fluffy and light, it makes you want to eat more than just one slice! Best deal ever.

This place is old Brooklyn, one of the best pastry shops around. And anyone who says otherwise doesn't have a clue.

Delicioso. Amazing cookies. These are some of the best cookies iI have had on the city. Good cannoli and fast service. On thanksgiving and Xmas there was a line out of the building. They were fully staffed and got me out of there 18 -20 mins max. Try them for your own benefit. Business is booming I'm sure they are fine. But spread love it's the Brooklyn way and they are from the pre-hipster era of the City.

Call me an ugly, tasteless freakshow, but I'm really not a big fan of Italian cookies. They just don't do it for me. Don't get me wrong: Court Pastry Shop's are stellar, and the lobster tails and the cannoli excellent as well. But those too...not really my thing. So I can't say what led me to stop into CPS on that fateful day. Destiny, perhaps. More likely, a fat kid's sixth sense. But when the old woman behind me burned herself on the sheet pan straight out of the oven, I couldn't help but inquire about those hot, fresh pies. Apple, you say? How much are they? $5.90? Wait, what?! You're telling me it's $6 for an entire pie? Here in NYC, land of the overpriced everything, Court Pastry Shop is selling pies at throwback prices. Literally down the street, there are $32 apple pies.* Court Pastry's might not be the biggest pies ever, nor the best. But with the deliciously fresh apple filling, the buttery, flaky crust (more croissant-like than traditional pie crust), these things are a freakin' steal at $6. And the ladies behind the counter are sweethearts, too. __________ *Edit: There WERE. At the recently shuttered Sweet Melissa. Coincidence? Probably.

After reading the reviews, I dropped in this AM to test this place. I got a few Biscotti which seemed okay. My issue is with the impression I got from the staff. Not very friendly and I wanted to end my purchase as quickly as possible. A message for the staff. Regardless if someone walks in off the the street or you are dealing with your regular customers. Show some appreciation to folks who bring you business. You never know who might be stopping by. I may opt to visit Caputo's down the street next time around since they seemed friendlier there. 2 stars is being generous. I might try again and I hope my experience is better...we shall see.

Saw a post on NY NICO. Apple turnover was flaky and delicious. Service was attentive and efficient

Discovered their almond biscotti by accident, one of the most delicious cookies you will ever taste. Stopping into this shop is like stepping back in time, it's the real deal and makes you think about what life on Court Street was like 80+ years ago. No frills, just the best.

The lobster tails are only available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and oh my god they're amazing, everyone should get these. They're crisp and light and a little buttery, dense with lightly sweetened cream. Everything is good, some are true standouts, and everything is worth trying.

Only the best. More hardly needs to be said. I am also glad that the owner's didn't sell it so that it can become another Duane Reade or Investor's Bank, but, rather, it is now owned by the workers. I hope Court Pastry continues to stay in the neighborhood for a long time to come.

Everyone should have their day in Court. Actually, you should also have your day on a sunbed if you're a little Pasty. It's good for you. Unfortunately there's no tanning at the Court Pasty Shop, because it's actually Pastry, not Pasty. Who knew. But if it makes you feel any better, a lot of the customers are pasty. A friend who loves cannoli and I, ordered the cannoli, and shared it. It was cheap, filling, cheerful, and very tasty. I can't give it a 5 star because it's right down the road from Villabate Alba and Cannoli Plus, which for me are not only the best in NYC, but the best cannolis in the entire USA. Nevertheless, if you're a fan of cannoli, stop in here. And if you like bakeries in general, come by and give them a try. You might fall in love. If not with the pastries, then with me. And if not with me, then definitely with my kitten Starlight. And then we'll end up getting married. Then we'll break up because I suck. And then we'll end up in Court, battling over the custody of Starlight. See how everything goes round in circles? You start off in Court. You end up in Court.

Good bakery. The "Lobster Tail" pastry is worth the entire price of admission. They actually sell out, so come before noon. Cannoli are very good: chocolate or vanilla. Eclairs too. They have ices in the summer. Supposedly top shelf. I've seen the stand, I've never had one. G Train is close by. Good coffee across the street. Girls behind the counter are nice enough but they are on autopilot. They've been doing this a long time. Be nice to them and they will be nice to you. If you're in Carroll Gardens, good old school Italian bakery. Highly recommended.

Pretty average Italian bakery. They offer a wide variety of baked goods typical of many Italian bakeries and I've had the good fortune of sampling many of their offerings. If I had to pick a strength, it would be the pastries; the cannoli are generously sized and the cream was good - it tastes like they add a hint of cinnamon in the cream which makes them stand out compared to cannoli from other bakeries. The sfogliatelle are pretty good as well - the outside was flaky and the filling had a perfect consistency, sometimes I find sfogliatelle filling too dry but Court does it justice. I haven't tried their famous lobster tail but I plan to in the future. Their cookies are just okay - some are better than others. I liked their rainbow and pinoli cookies, but the rest were pretty average. Not the best Italian cookies I've had but not the worst. While the pastries are pretty good, the cookies leave something to be desired - and I find their baked goods as a whole to be a tad unrefined. I've had worse, but I've had better.
