Did my RESEARCH re: raw marinated crab in K-town and was deciding between Master Ha and Crab House. Master Ha was closed, so Crab House it was. I did not want to bother searching for parking so I paid for the valet. We came on a Sunday around 5:30 and thankfully did not have to wait for a table. As we got started, a line started to form. It's not the biggest space (it can maybe accommodate 7-10 tables) so I was relieved. We got the Korean soy-marinated crab, a medium uni rice, and a seafood pajeon (pancake). The servers here were really sweet and gave us a spicy fish collar on the house, which was incredibly tender. Contrary to some other reviewers, we did not receive any sass/hostility from the ajumma waitresses but were instead blessed with some of the best fish I've had in a while. We were politely told to leave after we finished though, bc there was still a big old line outside.
Pros:
- Korean soy crab was SO good. My friends from Korea recommended this over the spicy crab because it is supposedly fresher. Glad I listened to them. It has the sweetest, briniest taste. I can't describe it, but it's amazing. The restaurant also gives you some rice and nori to mix into all that good stuff in the crab shell.
- The banchan was FLOWING. Great napa kimchi, kimchi cucumber, japchae, fish cake, and tteokbokki. I had to restrain myself from having another round.
- The pa-jeon was hot, crispy, and stuffed to the brim with mixed seafood (squid, shrimp, etc.). 100% worth the price,
- Spicy fish collar...need I say more?
- The uni rice was tasty but I do think it's a wee bit pricy for what you get. I got the medium uni and it didn't seem much bigger than the smaller sizes. Nevertheless, the quality of the uni was A+ and I appreciated having some rice and other fixings (seaweed salad, egg yolk, tobika, etc.) to eat it with.
Between me and my friend, we spent ~$100. Yes, it was not the cheapest meal but IMO it was worth it for the quantity and quality. We also had a decent amount of pajeon leftover.
