"This upscale gastropub is where you should spend Happy Hour sipping an $8 margarita at one of the many high-top tables. The space itself is pretty big and gets a ton of natural light from the windows, so it’s one of the more pleasant places in the area to drink a beer flight and eat a sandwich. The spicy Italian made with fresh bread from a local bakery is a standout thanks to one special ingredient: pimento cheese." - Kim Fuller

"This upscale gastropub is where you should spend Happy Hour sipping a $10 margarita at one of the many high-top tables. The space itself is pretty big and gets a ton of natural light from the windows, so it’s one of the more pleasant places in the area to drink a beer flight and eat a sandwich. The spicy Italian is a standout, not only because it’s made with bread from a local bakery, but because there’s one special ingredient you don’t see on a lot of cold-cut sandwiches: pimento cheese." - kim fuller

"Edwards, a short drive from Vail, may just be the best place to grab lunch in the valley. Chris and Janelle Schmidt draw on years of industry experience to bring not just flavorful food and drink, but a convivial community atmosphere to the area. Small plates like deviled eggs, Brussels sprouts, and red lentil hummus are shareable. Customers can pair satisfying sandwiches like a Cubano or hot chicken with craft whiskeys and beers from Colorado breweries like Fort Collins’ Funkwerks. Add in vinyl and shuffleboard, and afternoon: made." - Rebecca Treon

i was looking for a really good burger near vail… i found it! this place was just awesome. so flavorful and perfectly crispy but tender. the fries are definitely a shareable size so that was also very nice! we had a very sweet server and the inside of the restaurant was such a vibe. dress up or down! more on the expensive side but for the area the price wasn’t too bad. highly recommend plus there were more menu items i wanted to try so i will be back :)

This place is awesome! Great food, great service and a nice ambiance. It’s a great spot after a hike or for a nice lunch. Highly recommend the poke bowl. They have gluten free bread for sandwiches. If you’re in town, check it out! Can’t go wrong here.

We were blown away by Craftsman and will definitely come back again! Service was great and speedy. The Brussel sprouts were unlike anything we have tasted before. The poke bowl is a must and the burger lived up to be the best in the valley. The only small thing we have to say is the picnic tables could be replaced as they are quite lopsided and worn.

I got to meet the owners while they were sponsoring the Big Horn cycling race in Gypsum. Great people and great beer. I will have to come check out the brewery in person.

T smashburger was on point, the wings need a little work. A little soggy with no crispiness. Service was excellent except that when we were being seated the entire restaurant was empty except for one table which we got set right next to. Definitely don't do that. He got cocktails during happy hour which were the old fashioned and Margarita. Margarita was made with a premix which I never recommend. Always needs to be fresh squeeze lime. That being said, the old fashioned was perfect. Stirred not shaken. Nice.

We had an incredible experience thanks to our amazing server, Gwen! She was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down. Her service was top notch. The food was absolutely delicious. The smashburger, green chili cheesesteak, and poke bowl are favorites. Between Gwen’s stellar service and the incredible food, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic food found at Craftsman! This establishment has moved slightly from its original location, but is still in the same general area of Edwards Riverwalk Roundabout. It was easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the plaza. I enjoyed grabbing food here for lunch recently when I was visiting the area, and tried the Oven Roasted Tomato Soup, Hot Chicken Sandwich, and the Schmidt Mac. Everything was flavorful and hit the spot after I had a morning hike. The food was really good and inventive! The menu had a nice variety and was priced as you would expect for being close to a ski town. Service was ok until we needed the check. Our table had been cleared and we were trying to flag down our waiter to ask for the check, but he was busy attending to other tables. We were able to get the attention of the manager on duty, who came over and made some rude remark to us because we were gesturing for the check. He gave us the mobile POS device so that we could be on our way, however we could have done without the nasty attitude. I have never encountered something like this coming from a “manager”. I’m not expecting a manager to make small talk with the table, but being rude and having an attitude towards customers is inexcusable. It doesn’t matter how great the food is - customer service is what people remember! There are plenty of other places in town for locals and visitors alike to spend money for a tasty lunch or dinner, a manager with a bad attitude will never fly in my opinion. I’m a fan of the food here at Craftsman, and it was some of the best tasting food I had while visiting, but the customer service needs to match the excellence of the food. Another thing to keep in mind is that on the menu it mentions a 5% surcharge will be added to all checks to support the staff, and you can let the staff know if you would like it removed, something to be aware of when it comes to calculating the tip. I wish the owners success with this larger location, but who wants to go back to a place and spend money where the staff is rude, certainly not me.
