"Creme Brulee is a bistro and cafe in South Philadelphia that boasts a menu of bountiful plates. A fan-favorite here is the Waffles Rancheros, featuring a waffle topped with sunny-side-up eggs, black beans, pico de gallo, and Monterey Jack cheese." - George Banks-Weston

"Known for their eclairs, croissants, and tarts, this neighborhood patisserie has plenty of brunch options like some of the best french toast in the city that’s topped with berry coulis and fresh berries. Enjoy it all on their picnic table-filled sidewalk patio, and for some post-brunch sweetness, don’t forget to grab a giant macaron on the way out." - Candis R. McLean

"I recently started going to Creme Brulee Bistro in Pennsport. It’s been open a couple years, and I’ve driven by it a bunch but never went. Both the manifold pastries and the savory food are fantastic, and the prices are crazy low. Just a sweet place that shouldn’t be there and shouldn’t be great but totally is. So happy to put it into heavy rotation." - Tim Forster

The best part of eating here is getting some delicious food to eat-in and then grabbing a pastry or two to go. I have tried several different dishes on their menu, from breakfast to brunch to dinner, and it has all hit the spot. You can't go wrong here. Usually, I get the grilled cheese sandwich which is made to perfection and has a healthy side of crunchy fries. The pancakes, pictured here, are good enough without any syrup. Try the cheesecake or lemon tart if you want a pastry. One thing to note: I prefer to enjoy my latte while eating in; when I take it to go, the syrup is not usually mixed in enough. That's small, though, compared to how good everything is and how nice and accommodating the servers are.

This is absolutely my new favorite spot in South Philly. A French-Mexican restaurant that offers French toasts with eggs! Clean, excellent service, bakery options to purchase and exquisite coffee drinks. I am a coffee lover and is hard to find a place like this. Also, if you are lucky, you can get to try their tasting plate, which has a little bit of their best dishes.

I didn’t know this was a sit-down cafe, and I was pleasantly surprised. Creme Brulee was humming with good energy my entire visit. I grabbed a seat in the corner and told the host I would be staying a while (four hours between meals and meetings). I propped up my laptop, ordered a coffee (bottomless?), and got to work. Over the course of a few hours, I watched regulars dine-in, folks order pastries to go, and the staff handle their intimate operation with grace. I saw a few buddies - 5 to be exact - during my visit, which made it truly feel like a local watering hole. I got the omelet for lunch, and it didn’t need a shake of salt or pepper (that’s how you know). My buddy ordered an almond croissant; completely unprompted, he rolled his eyes and tilted his head back with sincere pleasure. I look forward to going back here. If it wasn’t a weekday, I probably wouldn’t have occupied a table with my laptop, but it was quiet enough for me to do so. Between the Eagles win and this sweet stop, it was the perfect way to start a Monday.

Really awesome, little spot in South Philly. Definitely a must for anyone living in the area that hasn't been yet! I had their Creme Brûlée Omelet which was great, I'm normally skeptical of cherry tomatoes in an omelet but it was perfect and very filling. My friend and real estate partner Rich had their fish and chips and loved it, all I can say is that it looked fantastic! I also grabbed a lemon tart on my way out that was to die for! They make all their pastries in house, and I'm looking forward to trying their mixed berry tart next time I'm in the neighborhood. Would highly recommend.

The service was nice and the person who took my order was very friendly. I ordered a tiramisu, creme brulee, cheesecake, and a green juice. The cheesecake, tiramisu, and the green juice were all very good. However, the creme brulee was bad. It was very runny and it looked like it was curdled. I couldn't eat it because it wasn't appetizing. I included a picture for reference.

Showed up at around 2:30 (they close at 8) and they were already sold out of most pastries, including the titular creme brulee, which we had specifically intended to get. We got the chocolate tart which did not taste much like chocolate, more like nuts, and there was too much crust with very little filling. Not the quality of pastry I was expecting, especially for the price. The cashier was very nice and welcoming and the atmosphere was lovely, would have considered coming back again if the pastry selection and quality hadn't been so disappointing.

This little dine in cafe has some really good iced lattes and chicken & waffles! If you’re looking for a cute breakfast spot in South Philly, I’d recommend this spot 🧇
