Crêpes and Dosas at Tin Building Review - South Street Seaport - New York - The Infatuation

"This little station on the first floor of the Tin Building near all the fresh produce serves sweet and savory dosas and crêpes. (The latter come in buckwheat or classic.) A crêpe from here is about the same as a crêpe you’d get anywhere else. Varieties like ham/gruyère and banana/Nutella/chocolate are available, but they also have unique combinations like vanilla sponge cake with almond paste and meringue. It’s kind of fun to watch your order being made right in front of you. " - Kenny Yang

The Best Food at The Tin Building Over Three Visits | Eater NY

"At a station without seating I was excited for the dosas but found the crepes to be a big draw with a catalog of sweet and savory fillings; the dosa itself was perfect—crisp on the bottom, cushiony on top, and slightly sour—and I ate it with a cheese, egg and avocado filling while craving the conventional potato masala, and noted that no Indian fillings aimed at the dosa were offered." - Robert Sietsema

Absolutely incredible! These are hands down the best crepes I’ve ever had — perfectly thin, buttery, and packed with flavor. Every bite tasted fresh and authentic. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

If you love crepes then you must stop by the Tin Building at the south street seaport. Made fresh on the spot. Just order via kiosk and wait for the ultimate Crepe!!! I tried the savory BROCCOLI & CHEDDAR, Pickled Jalapeño, Herbs. Thank me later 😋😋😋

Savory crepe the chef makes them so elegantly and they are always delicious. Also picked up apricot Jam which paired very well with the ham and cheese crepe

Google
Crepes & Dosas, next to the Brooklyn Bridge, offers a quirky mix of sweet and savory. While crepes are tasty, I can’t help thinking they’re the poor man’s dosa—dosas boast 150+ varieties compared to a dozen for crepes! Still, it’s a fun spot with flavorful bites and great bridge-side ambience.

Quick pickup option here with places to sit. Really enjoyed the egg, avocado, hot sauce crepe with broccoli. It was delicious!

Absolutely stunning crepes, I have never eaten better ones!! I took the one with avocado, cheese and additional ham, paid 20 bucks but they are worth all the money!

Google
Perfect crepes, better than I've had in France. I had the buckwheat which were light and savory, with egg, bacon, avocado, and sprouts. Only thing I'd do differently would be to hold the dressing on the greens. Skilled chef who also was helpful.

I ordered a crêpe with dark chocolate and whipped cream, and sadly it was one of the worst crêpes I’ve ever had. It looked like it was only cooked on one side, so one side was very dry, and the inside was under cooked. Not the typical soft texture of a crepe. It looks like they didn’t used any butter to make the crepe, which is a key ingredient. The chocolate was unevenly spread, and there was no whipped cream. Not worth $13. Very disappointing for a Tim Building shop.

Yelp
I went savory for the ham egg and cheese - so good! Pretty quick for them to make too. Would love to come back and try one of the sweet crepes.

Yelp
This place was intermittently busy on a Sunday morning around 10am. After walking around the Tin Building to see my options, I came back here to try out a crepe. I watched as the chef made crepes and dosas with ease before placing my order for an Avocado and Organic Egg buckwheat crepe. They were not able to accommodate my request for egg whites instead of an egg, but this was not a big concern. The crepe took about a few minutes to make and tasted so good! I really liked the flavor the hot sauce added to the crepe. I highly recommend this spot for a quick, light meal!

Yelp
This was my first visit at the Crêpe & Dosa eatery in the Tin Building. I chose a savory crêpe with ham and Gruyère cheese. It is delicious and reminds me of having one in Paris. Most importantly the crêpe stays tender while eating instead of going hard like in other places in the City. I wanted a light meal that didn't cost an arm and a leg so this fit the bill nicely - $15 + tax cost $16.33. I plan on having another one soon. Apparently the dosa fillings are the same as the ones for crêpes which a self-respecting South Indian would bristle at as in India there are few but well known fillings for the variety of dosas. However, this is the Tin Building where the chef has created more of a French flavor for the dosas!

Yelp
Went here at 8:30 on a Saturday night, supposed to be open till 10:30 PM.....but, not to be! Lady working says "we're closed". And boy, she was NASTY in her demeanor. So sorry to interrupt!
