Food was very good, soda bread and the Coombeshead cured meat were excellent as were the puddings. Good wine selection and the cocktail we had to start was delicious. Duck leg was fine, lentils were a little firmer than expected, but all flavourful. Small plates all tasty. Mains were over £30 and quite small.
The cost would have all felt worth it if the service had been better, was quite ramshackle. We were told our table wasn’t ready after being led to a table for two then sent to the bar. Then before we had got the drinks we ordered we were then taken back to the same table we’d been stood next to.
This wasn’t a problem, but we were then left for long periods waiting to order drinks or waiting for our food, to pay etc dark haired lady serving behind the bar was very good but otherwise it felt pretty sub par on the service side.
£180 for two with wine warrants better and more attentive service.
