"There's great seafood all over Lake Como, but the fish truly shines at Crotto Valdurino in Moltrasio. Not much is done to the agone, lavarello, and other fish at this family-run spot to make them great. They’re usually grilled and served with just a couple of lemon wedges, or cooked in a crust of salt that makes the most satisfyingly crunchy sounds when you cut into it. As for the energy, it’s no fuss. The tablecloths feature images of fruits and vegetables—a departure from the fancier white tablecloths that define other high-end dining destinations—and the staff’s laid-back attitude (and willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions) will make you feel like you’re eating at a friend’s kitchen.  " - anna rahmanan, bryan kim

I was lucky to stumble upon this hidden gem—a family-run treasure nestled in the hills of Cernobbio—not long after I moved here. Words can hardly do justice to an experience of dining on the terrace in summer months, basking in the sunlight, with the awe-inspiring views of Lake Como as your backdrop. Pair that with a Negroni and an array of local fish dishes (think marinated smoked perch, risotto, and perfectly grilled fish), and you’re in for something truly special. In the colder months, the cozy table by the fireplace sets the scene for a different kind of magic. After a meal of exquisite meats—braised beef, homemade pasta, or roasted veal with polenta—a café corretto with grappa is the perfect way to end the evening. I absolutely love this place. It’s as authentic and local as it gets, yet the culinary delights are anything but simple. Don’t just take my word for it—skip the center of Como, take a quick 7-minute drive, and see for yourself.

Superb service - thank you for looking after us today Amazing food. Thank you for reminding me of great Italian dishes I used to eat as a child. The quality of the ingredients is the best you can get locally! What a view! The lake never lets you down. I recommend Casseouela… traditional Milanese dish… it comes with polenta (artisanal) … And if you’re a true foodie you got to try Tripoa con fagioli. I wished I had more room to try the lake fish….

Typical dishes from the Como area. Simple and genuine healthy dishes. You can try here the typical fish from the lake, as well as polenta and other specialties.

Hidden gem. Went twice in as many days whilst staying down the road, and would happily eat there every day for the rest of my life. The staff are lovely, the food and house wine is incredible, real home-cooked dinner with a lovely view over como. Belissimo!

Excellent traditional food at a very decent price. The views are amazing. Only thing to consider is the parking, which may be difficult to find.

A beautiful family run restaurant with stunning views and a romantic yet buzzy atmosphere. The food was authentic and very tasty and the staff were amazing. We actually rented a scooter, which ran out of battery (an emergency!) but the staff helped save us - thank you! A gem of a restaurant in Como that we highly recommend!

A historic trattoria with a gorgeous fireplace, big terrace and beautiful view of the lake. It’s been in the same hands for generations, which the menu of local foods and warm service certainly shows. A great spot for a meal if you want a traditional laghee experience.
