"There’s great seafood all over Lake Como, but the fish truly shines at Crotto Valdurino in Moltrasio. Not much is done to the agone, lavarello, and other fish at this family-run spot to make them great. They’re usually grilled and served with just a couple of lemon wedges, or cooked in a crust of salt that makes a satisfyingly crunchy sound when you cut into it. As for the energy, it’s no fuss. The tablecloths feature images of fruits and vegetables—a departure from the fancier white tablecloths that define other high-end dining destinations—and the staff’s laid-back attitude (and willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions) will make you feel like you’ve pulled up a chair at your best friend’s dinner table." - anna rahmanan, bryan kim
