"For more than a decade, Cuchara has highlighted Mexico City’s vibrant cuisine in a light-filled Montrose space. Weekend brunch is a festive atmosphere with dishes like huevos divorciados, a plethora of micheladas, and café de olla, a Mexican-sweetened coffee. Lunch and dinner are just as worthy, with dishes like mole negro turkey breasts, pork belly-stuffed gorditas, and Veracruz-style red snapper." - Brianna Griff
"Cuchara puts a spin on traditional tres leches cake with its one-of-a-kind five-leches cake. The ultra-moist dessert is served in a bowl, making it easy to slurp up all of the milky goodness, and it can be further amped up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a shot of Rompope." - Marcy de Luna
"Cuchara serves some of the best Mexican food in the city, but its margaritas, especially the margarita con damiana, aren’t on the same level. The margarita is served in a sad-looking handled mason jar and is sticky-sweet, watered down, and slightly warm. The addition of damiana liquor can add a chamomile-like flavor, but Cuchara’s version tastes bland, almost flavorless. We recommend getting anything but a margarita here." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"Mexico City cuisine is the star at this spirited Montrose hangout, and margaritas are a given. Cuchara’s house margarita features tequila, plus unrefined cane sugar, orange liqueur, and fresh lime juice. Still, diners can always keep things interesting with the Margarita of the Day, which incorporates fresh seasonal ingredients." - Marcy de Luna
"Vacationing in Mexico City is all the rage these days, but for those looking to save on travel time and still experience the allure, a visit to Cuchara is an excellent alternative. For a decade, this gem has been serving up casual Mexico City fare throughout its happy, light-filled Montrose dining room, decorated with art from Mexico City muralist Cecilia Beaven. Paloma cocktails, presented in clay cups, are Instagram-worthy and pair well with dishes like the crispy tostadas and the cheese-stuffed grilled cactus filet. Try its daytime sister concept, Cucharita." - Kayla Stewart
