Located conveniently with plenty of parking, this restaurant was a great find. We made a reservation and were glad we did because the place filled up quickly after we arrived.
The restaurant is small but cozy, clean, and well-lit. However, the music was extremely loud, which was a bit annoying. Turning it down would enhance the dining experience.
During our visit, there were two servers and three cooks or sushi makers. We ordered from the happy hour menu, starting with the $2 oysters, which were outstanding. We couldn't ordered more after the first round because they were fresh and had a great texture. 5/5
We also tried the Mini Albacore Tataki, which was delicious with a great sauce, though a touch of sweetness could have made it even better. I'd rate it 4/5.
The shrimp toast was excellent, with plenty of shrimp and cheese on toasted bread. It was well-seasoned, and the melted cheese made it comforting and delicious. 5/5
From the regular menu, we ordered a Caesar salad, which was really good. The lettuce was crispy, the dressing was perfect, and the crunchy lemon garlic panko on top added a nice texture. 5/5
The Dayboat Scallop Crudo, however, was a disappointment. It took a while to arrive because the kitchen prioritized happy hour orders, which we understood. The dish looked appealing, and the sauce was nicely sweet and tangy, but the scallops were slimy and not fresh, with a very fishy taste. I'd skip this one, rating it 3/5.
Toro Tartare 3/5 it was ok for 2 slices it was $16.00 but not sure it was worth given the Toro didn't seem satisfying. It was good on top of toast and it was a bit bland.
Overall, the happy hour menu was fine and the service was good.
Food is a bit pricey, but they do spend time in the presentation of the food. I think I would come back again and order more oysters and happy hour food.
