"If you grew up on the North Shore, then you no doubt already have a favorite roast beef sandwich place - one that you’re religiously devoted to, will fight to the death for, and maybe even tattoo onto your arm, along with a drawing of an onion bun. We’re not going to try to convince you that the roast beef sandwiches sold out of the window at Cusser’s (or, in the colder months, inside Moon Bar) are better than your childhood favorite, but we will tell you that they’re very good. The fact that you can also get some great seafood here, like lobster rolls, fish tacos, and the clam, bacon, and potato chowder, makes this place even better." - dan secatore

"The Massachusetts “super beef” or “three-way” sandwich combines tender shavings of medium-rare roast beef with barbecue sauce, mayonnaise, and American cheese, all contained — barely — within a Kaiser roll. The messy, gratifying specialty and its subtle variations grace menus throughout the state, including those of Boston experts like Cusser’s Roast Beef and Seafood, but a road trip north of Boston demonstrates why this is properly known as a North Shore-style sandwich." - Stasia Brewczynski

"The original Cusser’s Roast Beef & Seafood location is the street-level takeout window beneath Mooncusser Fish House that opened in May 2018. It offers classic North Shore-style roast beef sandwiches and seafood options, such as lobster roll and fish and chips. The food hall kiosk will be open for dinner and on weekends." - Terrence Doyle

"Mooncusser Fish House is truly a restaurant for all occasions: It actually has three distinct parts. Its casual, seasonal takeout window, Cusser’s, serves hot dogs, lobster rolls, and a Massachusetts classic roast beef sandwich, while the restaurant’s slightly more formal Moon Bar on the ground floor offers raw and smoked seafood, tacos, burgers and fries, and two desserts. (Cusser’s customers can also eat inside at Moon Bar.) The upscale, full-service dining room upstairs is the place for an elegant seafood feast. [Full service and counter service]" - Dana Hatic

"Cusser’s Roast Beef & Seafood, a spinoff à la North Shore seafood hut, slinging roast beef sandwiches and lobster rolls from a street-level takeout window, according to the Boston Globe. Cusser’s will open on May 7, providing lunch service on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Just last month, Globe critic Devra First reviewed Mooncusser, commenting that it “sounds like it should be a shack by the beach,” a statement was apparently a bit prophetic. Mooncusser already has a sibling called Moon Bar, a casual-ish wine bar on the first floor of the same building, serving chowder, lobster, rolls, fish tacos, and more." - Dana Hatic

One of the best lobster rolls I have ever eaten! I ordered the hot version, and it was amazing. Sooo buttery and just the right about of toastiness from the bun! I also ordered the clam chowder which came with crackers, and I think the chips come with any order. The chowder was full of clam and veggies. Definitely worth getting too! Every time I come to Boston, I plan to get their lobster roll again!!

(Backstory)... Let me be completely transparent. I was born and raised on the coast of Florida. I grew up eating all kinds of seafood, but lobster has never been one of my favorites. Over the years, I've always heard people say that you have to visit the New England area to get quality lobster so once I had my vacation details pinned down I knew I would be on the hunt to finally find good lobster. I did lots of research leading up to this trip. If you've been following me, then you may have come across a preview I did about another establishment in Boston that specializes in Maine lobster rolls. After trying them, I was now on the hunt for Connecticut style lobster rolls. Again, this was a first for me, so I was trying to determine which one was better to me. I found Cusser's in the Time Out Market on Fullerton Street. Please make sure you visit this specific location. I'll start out by saying parking is a complete nightmare. No fault of the establishment, but it's in a very busy area with only street parking. I drove around for a while, trying to find someone leaving so I could grab their spot. It is also right near a residential area, and you will be ticketed if tou so not have a parking decal, so be careful. Now, onto the food. My daughter and I arrived right as they opened, which was 5:00 PM. We order 2 warm lobster rolls, onion rings, and 2 drinks. In full transparency, this meal costs me $92. Yes, $92!!! I couldn't believe it, but I paid it, and thank goodness the taste matched the price. Hands down best I've ever had. The roll was warm, toasted, and buttery. The lobster was so succulent and plentiful. The onion rings WERE TO DIE FOR!!!! I have no idea what seasoning was used in this batter, but it was amazing! The meal also came with 2 bags of Cape Code kettle chips. We paired the meal with a sprite and a raspberry lemonade. After finally having quality lobster, I now see what all the hoopla is about 😄 Now I know that Connecticut style lobster rolls are my preference. I went the rest of the trip thinking about this lobster roll. So much so that on the way to the airport, I stopped (at a different location) to get another roll. I just had to get my fix before heading back to Florida. Unfortunately, it was just decent, which I why earlier I said make sure you go to the Fullerton Street location specifically. I can't wait to go back to Boston just to visit this place again.

Ordered Fish&chips which was totally overcooked. French fry was burned as much as it possible. Fish was extremely oily. Do not recommend this place.

We really enjoyed fries , plenty of people love this appetizer so we really want to eat some and we ordered here , they deliver this fast but when we realized the size of the fries were like bites ( like when you have the last pieces of the bag) and these were little soaked of grease, so I want to the counter to see if the fries were “normal”. The chasier told me that they always serve this size, and if I want another they will do that but the size it will be the same , and yes we got the same fries bites but now crispy . So , if you evaluate the food for only fries that is a regular type of appetizer I do not imagine the menu. It was sad have a experience like this.

One of the worst 3 ways ever, the beef was extremely well done, barely any mayo and the bbq is just not good. I wouldn’t have finished but it was 15$

I just left there… My online pick up order was just chilling on the counter when I arrived. Rather than asking for to go bag, I said, let me just sit down and enjoy this because it’s probably already borderline cold, which it was I started with the roast beef because that’s what I anticipated the most after not enjoyed one sits the back bay location I visited once, and truly enjoyed, this, however, was a disappointment. Fish sandwich was even worse and I would complete shock at how much salt was added to such a small piece of fish. It’s sad when you pay top price for a sandwich that wouldn’t even make it alongside a filet o fish McDonalds or BK fish. Fries were cold. Everything was cold fish was too salty. Roast beef sandwich had no flavor and very little sauce. I will not be back by any means anytime soon to any of their locations. As a local guide for the greater Boston area, please go to the North Shore and enjoy a real roast beef sandwich. As far as the fish sandwich goes I’m still without words they would ever sell something so unpleasant. Thank you to the Time Out Market clean team member who saw the disgust in trying to not waste the $30 bucks spent. She pulled the tray away at the right time before I got sick.

Really tasty roast beef sandwich. Bought one to share. Turned out to be a major inconvenience to ask for the sandwich to be cut in half. Be prepared to tip 35-50% for special requests.

I ordered the fish and chips, and it was like someone had a heavy hand with the salt. Not good 👎
