Google
This place was super packed and it did not affect the quality of service that me and my coworker received. So many beautiful faces in this restaurant was something that we noted while eating here. I tried the hamburger horseshoe with extra cheese. This cheese sauce is not the flour-based type that's always gross and grainy. The meat was nicely textured with no filler. Nicely hidden under the fries that were good. I honestly would want to try the Philly Cheesesteak horseshoe. My glass of water and tea were never fully empty and always refilled promptly. I'm not sure if that was due to where we were seated, but it was definitely awesome, since I was extremely thirsty, from working outside all day. This was my only meal, and it was very well worth it. Now, I can say, I have tried an authentic horseshoe in Springfield.

Google
D'Arcy’s Pint never disappoints! The horseshoes here are incredible—especially the catfish horseshoe, which we highly recommend. The food is flavorful, portions are generous, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. Whenever we’re in the area, this is our top pick without question. Shoutout to Sadie, our waitress—she was phenomenal and made the experience even better with her friendly, attentive service. Established in 1998, D’Arcy’s has clearly mastered the art of the perfect horseshoe. Don’t miss this Springfield favorite!

Google
The Irish cheese steak horseshoe was supposed to come with peppers and mushrooms in it. The peppers were barely identifiable as peppers, just thin skin of what used to be a red pepper and the mushrooms were very few and far between. The cheese sauce was pretty decent. The menu said "piled high" with tender sirloin, but the meat wasn't very plentiful. Overall I wasn't very satisfied for the $18.

Google
Any time I'm in Springfield, this is a must stop! Love their Buffalo Chicken Horseshoe. But their menu is huge, and everything I've had has been great. The atmosphere is awesome, and service always excellent. Strongly recommend this spot!

Google
First time here. Service was very good! We had french fries, the open-faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, and a wedge salad. All were very good. The dressing on the salad could have been less. The frozen Margarita is also very good as it was not overly sweet.

Google
I didn’t want to try this place because I have no clue why but we decided to today. Wow! From the nachos, cheese curds, spinach and artichoke dip to the pizza and the homemaker Philly… I loved it all! We were well taken care of and everyone left full and happy! Can’t wait to try something else next time!

Google
My salad was so loaded up, they even gave me a produce sticker!😀 And for $15, I shouldn’t have to chop everything up myself. The chicken, tomato, onion and cucumber all came in huuuuge chunks. But I’m not a local and this place has great reviews so I feel like I can’t give it a 1.

Google
When I was in town a short stint I heard this place name come up twice so had to see what the hype was about. Sat at the bar and Loved the atmosphere, nice bartenders. Ordered the classic horseshoes with the Nashville hot chicken. Now this food is definitely filling and perfect for next day hangover. Definitely enjoyed the experience!

Yelp
Great service with a smile . Best food around . Servings are large and hot !! Love Julio and his staff

Yelp
I've always had a great dinner here! I am from Kansas City and HAVE to get a horseshoe every time I come to town. Their cheese sauce and fries are divine. I have had multiple different shoes and they are great. I had the walleye last time was crispy and tasty. I was a little reluctant due to it being fish but it is one of my favorite shoes! Definitely come visit!

Yelp
A staple in Springfield, IL! My mom and I go here every St. Patty's Day, and the wait is always just as long as it is on the holiday. As a native to the Springfield area, I already expected the long wait- about forty minutes on a Friday. The speed of food makes up for it (at least if you get horseshoes because they crank them out in bulk). The horseshoes (both my burger one and my boyfriend's Mac Daddy one) tasted plain, lacking flavor. It would've been more tasteful with a little bit of seasoning.

Yelp
If I could bottle this place and sell it, I would. Super popular and super good. I want to say every day (or at least once a week) they have a chef's special horseshoes. The ambiance is chill and lowkey. Try it out!

Yelp
A unique food famous to Springfield IL is the Horseshoe sandwich. Wanted to try at Charlie Parkers, but they close at 2. Google had this business and a few others as best horseshoe in Springfield. What is a horseshoe sandwich? It is Texas Toast, meat ( sliced turkey was my choice), and cheese sauce with fries on top. I don't eat much, so I chose Pony size, which is less cheese and fries. I also removed most bread. I ate most of it except some fries. This is a food to eat occasionally as it is filling. Similar to Louisville or Bardstown Hot Brown without fries.

Yelp
D'arcy's Pint truly has the best horseshoe in Springfield. Their cheese sauce is thick and creamy, the crevices of the crinkle cut fries pick up just the right amount of cheese and the buffalo horseshoe really is a huge step up from the original horseshoe. This place can be pretty busy, but it is worth the wait

Yelp
Had to come while we were in town on a work trip. We heard the Horseshoe is what Springfield and D'arcys Pint do best! Service was surprisingly quick since this place is packed at all hours. Food was even better. If you're even in Springfield, this is a must!

Yelp
Again.. it's all about consistency. D'arcy's is really good. Horseshoes are the centerpiece of their menu, but the members of our party have sampled other items on their menu.. the walleye dinner, the cheeseburger, the cheese curds... and they are all above average. The steady flow of regulars lets you know everything you need to know about D'arcy's Pint. We arrived with a table for 12 tonight, and we were seated within 20 minutes on their patio. The weather was perfect. The food was delicious as usual. The service was great. I went with the Mac Daddy Horseshoe, which was a nod to McDonalds Big Mac, and it was amazing. No complaints. No reason to not stop here while traveling through Springfield, IL.. D'arcy's checks all the boxes. Well done.

Yelp
Researched places to eat in Springfield and of course, D'arcy's popped up in every search and for good reason. I went there for one purpose...to try a horseshoe. The server was really, super helpful; she made an out-of-towner feel very at home! I am a little uncomfortable thinking I have the audacity to review an incredible place! I am very territorial about the food in my town and cringe when people criticize what is a staple in my part of the world. HOWEVER, truly there's nothing to criticize here anyway! I had the horseshoe with the tender, juicy pot roast and creamy delicious cheese sauce and of course crinkle fries made it 1000% addictive! When you see the dish and think "oh there's no way I can eat the whole thing"... Good luck putting your fork down you won't be able to stop!

Yelp
What is Springfield IL known for? A dish called the horseshoe. Now, before I went anywhere (to try); I asked the hotel staff. Two ladies at the desk, (both said in unison): D Arcy's - I need to go to D Arcy's....so I did. I was skeptical of what "horseshoe" was going to be like....and the dish was crazy-good! A horseshoe consists of "small extrude" crinkle cut fries; a beef patty and cheese sauce. This place separates themselves (with) their cheese sauce; it's just superior! As I understand, it's a blend of cheeses...that come together and taste great on its own. But the fries...have a crispy cook to them...and they're done on inside quite well. Then you come a great beef patty flavor. This whole dish flat works! And look at the tables around you: everybody is having this dish.....horseshoes are all over the place!

Yelp
Came to Springfield on vacation and as always, depended yelp to help us find local gems. D'arcy's Pint did not let us down. The service was great, food was delicious, atmosphere was inviting and dim, which I prefer. Highly recommend!

Yelp
As usual, Darcy's never disappoints! I come here every time I come home to visit. So my cousin and I both ordered the Springfield famous "Horseshoe" (google it!). We actually ordered the smaller version the "ponyshoe". I had the breaded chicken, and my cousin had the buffalo chicken. We both ordered cheese sauce on the side. It's delicious either way but I prefer to keep my breading crispy. Brooklyn was awesome, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of. We went at lunch so it's always a little wait (15 min). I had a Dogfish IPA while I waited. A great Irish restaurant with a small pub feel. LOVE IT!

Yelp
Great food and service. Bloody Mary was delicious, bartender did a great job. Next time we're in Springfield, we'll be back.

Yelp
Family and I came here and enjoyed the environment so much! The food was delicious! The staff were all super kind and very helpful! We went during a very busy time (dinner rush) but surprisingly we were seated immediately after arriving. We had went to a different restaurant beforehand but the parking lot said "hope you're willing to wait awhile" lol So we came to Darcy's instead and are glad we did! We have a little one with us and the staff were kind and aware of her presence. Based on this experience alone, I would definitely recommend Darcy's! I'll be back for another review in a few months.

Yelp
Excellent service, excellent food, good variety. If I had a negative it's very loud in there. Hard to have conversation over others going on around you. It would be nice if there was something to absorb the noise of others having to yell to be heard.

Yelp
This is a must place if in Springfield, and they have amazing horseshoes. They do get really crowded on the weekend, so expect to wait about 30 minutes. The service is always laid-back and friendly. This last time we got the Fried Green Tomatos, and Mac Daddy Horseshoe to split. It was AMAZING.
google avatar

Tom W.

Yelp
I've been here many times but not usually for lunch. The restaurant was crowded, always a good sign, but I didn't have to wait long. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by staff and engaged by fellow diners offering recommendations. Such a great atmosphere. They always have choices for their soups, as well as the chili which is a mainstay. I opted for a classic Reuben sandwich today. I sat down at 12:10 and had my food and beverage by 12:23. If I had to be back to work by 1, I would have had plenty of time. Highly recommended for convenience, food and atmosphere.

Yelp
This establishment is a must if you're visiting Springfield! I visit once or twice a year and Darcy's pint is my go to place for my craving! I've never strayed. I get the tenderloin pony and it's amazing! Until next year! See you then!

Yelp
Seated immediately, service was quick. Orders were accurate and very tasty. Waitress was friendly and polite. Lots of Irish decor and menu options. Definitely go back again.

Yelp
Top notch Horseshoe. Fast friendly service and always clean. Love a frosty pint of Guinness to wash down the Shoe.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Nice clean place with super low prices and great service. The food was basically worth the super low price, at best. This is supposedly an Irish pub but the corned beef and cabbage was an embarrassment to Irishmen. It was deli corned beef heated up on a flat grill (like for a Reuben), bland mashed potatoes and a ton of boiled cabbage. But none were cooked together or had any of the traditional Irish flavor. Prob a great place for pub food but don't order any traditional Irish food and expect to get something Irish.

Risé D.

Yelp
The horseshoes are wonderful but they refuse to make alterations to their salads for those who have nut allergies, even if you ask a day ahead of time. Really? How hard is it make the salads without and then add before serving? Or have a few made without for those of us trying to eat a lighter meal? Won't be eating there today.
google avatar

Nick D.

Yelp
Springfield! Gotta try a horseshoe! Its tradition. To food tastes great. A horseshoe is typically a hamburger on toast covered with french fries topped with Irish melted cheese. Service is great. Remember its always busy here on nights and weekends..... Inside pretty cool Irish Pub/ Central Illinois vibes.. Prolly the 10th time we've been here over the years.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
I was not a fan of this place but the menu have expanded and it's looks much better - way good - way better than before ! Take a look at the menu I just snapshot! I'm waiting next door from Hyundai with my oil change / tire alignments due to a long road trip tomorrow. Enjoy if you can stop in!

George P.

Yelp
Great food, craft beer and service. Reasonable prices too. Something for everyone. We had a great time.

Yelp
Great service behind the bar. Caring staff through. I had the shepherds pie it was very good. Too too much food.

Yelp
Basic ass bar with some average food. D'Arcy's Pint is a place to get sloppy drunk and eat sloppily to be honest. It's nothing fancy for sure. Good place for the basics. They're best known for serving the Springfield classic Horseshoe, a big ass open sandwich covered in cheese and whatever. As the saying goes, it's not for the faint of heart. It's best to make sure your heart is good before going, really. The stuff here they serve. Drinks are good. It's about $6 for a cocktail or so. Everyone should have an Irish Mule. This is made with ginger beer, lime, mint, and Paddy's. Both of us got one. We also got one of the few healthy food options, the House Salad. It's about $7 for a big one. This came with cheese, which we left off, and a ton of vegetables. Getting this avoids clogging arteries. The Horseshoe is the main thing. It's a massive open faced sandwich with a crap ton on it. This is covered in a cheese sauce. For those wanting to pig out, get a Horseshoe. If not, there's drinks and other food for those with smaller stomachs. The prices are pretty okay for the big portions of most things.
google avatar

Wanda M.

Yelp
Any day anytime I believe you will be happy with your choice of restaurant. The famous horseshoe is a speciality and there different ones to choose from. Always busy!
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
On tour performing at the state fair and had the pleasure of stopping in here and all the locals told us it was to the "go to!" Spot! We were greeted kindly and ordered the red ale to start. This was a deelish brew and then my buddy got the corn beef hoarse-shoe and I got fries and an Irish coffee. I'm vegan but after talking to the Wednesday night crew and getting to know them/their menu is well diverse, made from scratch daily, and they can accommodate all types of dietary requests! To top off the night, a very nice local couple Bought us our food without us knowing. Darcys rocks!!
google avatar

Terrie B.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and bar keeps were friendly and efficient. It was the first time we had ever had a "horseshoe", so I must say it was the best horseshoe I've ever had! Actually, we had a pony, but it was the best pony we've ever had

Matthew A.

Yelp
Food was fresh, fast and tasty. People were super friendly and owner Hallie was a gem. Just popped through on business and had a local recommend this spot. Thanks for a great meal and service. I will be back.
google avatar

Ted K.

Yelp
This is a great spot. Glad I found them. Nice Irish pub layout. My server Jenny was a total rockstar. Super personable and made a great recommendation with the menu. I went with her suggestion and got the Buffalo chicken horseshoe...I liked it so much I'm trying to figure out how to get back to Springfield. It was awesome. Holy smokes...a day later and I want another one. After I ate Jenny was patient enough to let me camp out for a few so I could get some work done. This one is going in regular rotation for sure.
google avatar

Sandy W.

Yelp
Fabulous food, service and atmosphere! Well worth stopping. We had a pony (half shoe) shoes are a specialty in Springfield, IL. The dish is covered in fries and a specialty cheese sauce. It's delicious and decadent.
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
They are known for their horseshoes and their menu of horseshoes has even grown since I was here last. They have also very traditional Irish fair. Full bar. Don't be surprised if there is a wait at the door. There usually is. For a good reason. Our wait was 25 mins but got in I about 20 for a 4 top. The dining room is split but can be kinda noisy. They have TVs going usually with a game of sorts on. They have outdoor seating in the summer.

Joe H.

Yelp
Service was great. Ordered an appetizer, sauted mushrooms, with cheese, and crusty bread. No cheese but lots of mushrooms. Would not order again. Ordered pot roast dinner to go. Came packed and bagged. When got home missing mash potatoes, gravey, soup. Only had meat and microwaved frozen vegetables. Called and they will make it right. Big thing, check your order before u leave.
google avatar

Caroline S.

Yelp
Wanted to eat here but website states outside patio and dog friendly but when we arrived there were signs everywhere that they only allowed service dogs. Had to quickly find someplace else to eat.
google avatar

Abreanna D.

Yelp
Good fried green tomatoes!!!!! I haven't tried anything else here but everything around me looked and smelled amazing

Lynn H.

Yelp
I've been going to Darcy's for years and it is always good. The staff are friendly. The food is great and the service is good.

Ryan R.

Yelp
Went to Darcy's on St. Paddy's Day 2024. Just for a snack and a beer. The Irish nachos were awesome. The Darcy's red ale was good, kind of tasted like it is made w a coffee stout. Definitely going back to actually dine here. Our server was good and it seemed like all the staff helped each other.

Greg W.

Yelp
This place is amazing , the food is great and the service is perfect. They have plenty of employees all smiling and friendly. We pulled up and saw it was packed, well I see why . We will definitely be back. Irish nachos and Taco salads were delicious.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
Horseshoe and pony shoe are what we had. Both were phenomenal. Yum! Service was great, very welcoming and without stress. Good got to the table in blazing speed. We were seated pretty quick too.

Ron C.

Yelp
Always plenty on your plate and prices are not bad either! Highly recommend this place.

D M.

Yelp
Every time I'm in town to visit family and friends I make it a point to get a pony shoe from Darcy's pint. The service delicious food good ambience.
google avatar

Nasko L.

Yelp
You have to try their horse shoe sandwiches, drenched in their liquid gold, i.e., cheese sauce! Their regular size is HUUUUUge and the pony size (half size) was just right for me. Totally recommending the place and will be back again! Their cheese bites are the bomb, too!
google avatar

Kari K.

Yelp
For sure a local must! The place was packed but we were able to find two seats at the bar. The margarita's on ice aren't awful! (Many place have terrible mix). We ordered the supreme horseshoes and they are for sure tasty and a local staple. The staff is kind and attentive. The bookmaker sandwich is tender, the au jus is perfect, not overly salty. Will for sure be back to this Irish pub!
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Corned beef is best in town! Great staff, clean place. Really nice Irish Pub vibes. Good meal. Don't see the bid deal over the horse shoe, but I'm not a fan of them anywhere; So grain of salt. Recommend for families just BUSY on weekends and nights...because they're that good
google avatar

Brett H.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite while traveling to Southbend. Got the pony shoe with hamburger. The best shoe I have ever had. Cheese sauce was delicious. This will be my new stop anytime passing through Springfield. I will tell all my friends to make sure this is your one stop if passing by.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Went on Tuesday and had the Reuben and turkey noodle soup. Both were excellent. I sat at the bar and I think the bt name was Sam. He was great and made the visit even better.

Yelp
The food is always amazing. Anything you order you are sure to enjoy! The service and all staff are pleasant and efficient.
