"The wall of mirrors makes this shoebox-sized Richmond spot appear much larger than it is—and that’s where any illusion stops. Daigo’s nigiri is very real, and always melts in your mouth. We like to stick to the specials of the day, and keep them coming alongside filet mignon and green onion tempura rolls, miso soup, and salmon skin salad. The large sake selection also means there’s a high probability you’ll close down the place. And like any great neighborhood sushi spot, we turn to Daigo for everything from quick dinners and small group hangs to nights when we just feel like a saucy baked salmon roll for takeout at 8pm. Food Rundown Tokyo Cowboy Roll If you have a reliance on dragon and 49er rolls, it’s time to mix it up. Like, say, with this delicious shitake and tempura green onion roll. Filet mignon strips that are blowtorched and draped over the rolls keep things interesting. Dip into the tataki sauce and you’re all set. Nigiri Dinner The specialty nigiri is the star of Daigo’s sushi show, but if we want to think less and eat more, go for the $40 nigiri dinner. You get seven pieces of nigiri, plus tomago and a bowl of seaweed-heavy miso soup." - Lani Conway

"Daigo Sushi strikes a balance between crowd-pleasing maki rolls and delicate carpaccio or nigiri preparations. Daigo’s Golden Veggie Roll just might be my favorite new vegetarian dish." - Eater Staff

Hidden gem in the area. I heard it get busy for dinner so we came right when they opened on a Saturday, we got seated right away. The staff and the owners were very delightful and generous! We got the Omakase and the clam dish for starters with two bottles of sake. All the sashimi was fresh and high quality. Yuzu cheesecake and green tea ice cream were good. I enjoyed the intimate vibe here. We had such a great time with our friends.

12 piece omakase is around $70 we passed on that and got a 5 piece for $20. Hamachi belly was really good. Pass on the rolls, they’re overpriced. Spicy tuna with cucumber roll is unique!

The sushi was so fresh and the servers were very attentive. The prices were great too for Sf. The only thing I didn’t love was how the nigiri was already seasoned with soy sauce and wasabi which was a little overpowering. Other than that, this place really exceeded my expectations! The miso soup was also very delicious.

Delicious! Recommended for me to go me by a local bay area consumer. Tastey fresh fish. Best I've had in a while! Enjoyed my sashimi, maki, and sake selections.

Fresh sushi and wagyu beef. Very light and delicious 😋 bit on the pricy side but worth every penny. I would recommend it to friends and come back again love it.

This is a 4.5 Star place! The nigiri on their special menu was great. Their hamachi with jalenpeno maki was just ok. And the Salmon handroll was average. Ji Kinmedai (Premium Alfonsino), King Salmon from New Zealand, Kanpachi from Japan and Nodoguro (Black throat Seaperch) were all really good. If you order their rolls the cowboy was pretty good.

Nice place, small in size , but big in flavor and true sushi experience. Really good sushi shouldn't be smothered in sauces, this place understands that concept. The sashmi is really fresh and melts in your mouth, ( as it should ). Don't expect any fried appetizers like gyoza, or ask for unagi sauce.....not that kind of place. But if you want fresh delicious sushi I recommend. I will definitely return.
