Step into this chic speakeasy tucked behind a pizza joint, where an ever-evolving cocktail menu whisks you away on a global flavor adventure.
"A new entry in the list at position 49, Danico in Paris is celebrated for its innovative cocktails and vibrant ambiance."
"Danico isn’t quite a speakeasy, but it’s a bit hidden inside the Italian restaurant Daroco, and accessible through the historic covered Galerie Vivienne mall. The space was formerly a Jean Paul Gaultier store and the bartenders wear striped shirts as a nod to that, and, yes, it’s all really French. The menu of 12 cocktails changes every few months and is centered around a specific country and its spirits, like sake and whisky from Japan. Low music plays in the background, which adds a sophisticated ambiance for the couples and pre-opera drinkers at the tables, and out-of-towners sitting around the bar." - tanisha townsend

"Nico de Soto is something of a cocktail legend: After getting his start with the Experimental Cocktail Group (and winning various awards, including Most Influential Bartender at Paris's Cocktail & Spirits show in 2014), he opened his own joint in New York, called Mace. Danico is his first piloted project back on his home turf and it's a definite winner. His newly-launched menu format, which will change every six months, is travel-minded and will reflect a specific region of the world. First up? Indonesia, with cocktails such as the "Mad Dog" featuring mezcal, Kaffir lime, and pink guava juice, and the "Beji Griya," named after a Balinese temple and waterfall, with curry leaf-infused vodka." - Sara Lieberman
