Daro's Pizza & Chicken

This is a nice pizza place with really great pizza slice options. I had the Hawaiian and margarita slices. My son had a square Sicilian slice and they cut it up for him. The service was prompt and polite. They even accepted credit cards. I would definitely come here again. The pizza was quite yummy!

I used to order from Daros a lot and always thought the food was good, but the last two times have honestly been disgusting and concerning. The first time, I got a tiramisu that had mold on it. How does something like that even make it into a customer’s bag without anyone noticing? Now this time, my boyfriend ordered a burger and there was a square piece of clear plastic right in the middle of it. I’m scared he might have swallowed some without realizing. That’s not just careless — that’s dangerous. This makes me seriously question how clean this place really is and what’s going on behind the scenes. I’m beyond disappointed, and at this point, I don’t feel safe eating here anymore. I don’t mean to be a Karen but the only reason I’m writing this review is to warn other people so they can be careful before ordering.

The food is decent but it is horrible on what they are doing, I asked for a house pie half cheese and pineapple and they gave me 2 boxes with 4 pizzas in it, one normal other pineapple and they weren't even freshly cooked, they were old slices probably reheated and then sent to me for over 40 dollars

It's the only pizza spot within many blocks. Lucia's is the next closest spot so this will do. But it's pricey for the meh quality. Also, need new chairs, they are all ripped. New upholstery at the least.

This is my favorite pizza place, I used to live in the neighborhood and eat there regularly, then I moved and miss the hour commute to get pizza here. The variety of pizzas is very, very wide and my favorites are the spinach pizza and the mushroom pizza.

Very consistent always good. Variety of pizza and menu. Fast service if you walk in, and deliver has been quick too.

It's okay. Fast service. Pizza isn't amazing. I purchased 2 slices of pizza with topping and 3 canned drinks for $15. Prices were okay. I kinda got diarrhea after the food but I'm not sure if it's from it. 2.5 star experience Tip: order slices not pies

I was getting a vehicle serviced nearby and had some time to kill. From the outside, they seem to have a confused identity. There's a big Halal sign, advertising for fried chicken and fries and another for personal pizzas. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since there's a decent Indian/Middle Eastern population there and that makes this pizza joint just as diverse as NYC is. I wasn't even sure they sold by the slice until I peered in. They in fact do serve slices and despite their so-so rating, I do remember them being in this location for decades. Hey, If they survived that long then they must be doing something right. I went in and ordered two plain slices. It came out to $6 which is a decent price. I was able to sit and eat and the no-frills ambiance is oddly comforting to me. No complaints at all. It was the typical NY pizza and on par with most joints in NY.

The food is ok. Pizza is ok, nothing special, survives because there's only 1 other pizza place within a 20 min walk of the restaurant. If you're willing to walk the 20 min, there's a better place on Main St. near the LIRR station. Locally, this place satisfies the pizza cravings. Fried chicken is ok. Service is ok also. Prices are good, especially the combo/family deals. Overall, everything is just average and sometimes that's just enough of what you need. I wouldn't go crazy and rave about this place though.

First off, reviewer Lou I., "why do people who are non Italians try to do pizzas? they have no idea what a real pizza is all about." Daro's is not an authentic Italian restaurant that serves authentic Italian pizza. They never advertised themselves as such! LOL This is clearly a NY-style pizza spot that also serves fried chicken..And there are literally HUNDREDS of other pizza restaurants across the 5 boroughs, that serve pizza and they're not necessarily Italian owned. So maybe you're expecting too much.. And just putting it out there..the concept of pizza with tomato sauce and cheese may have originated in Italy, but the concept of the dough being flattened into a flatbread, came from China. So credit could technically go both ways. Just sayin.. :) I actually enjoy the pizza at Daro's. They've been around for a very long time and they're still in business..so they're definitely doing something right! This is the local pizzeria from when I used to live in Flushing, and I still pass by on the regular. They offer a decent NY-style pizza at a very affordable price, and I've never had any stomach issues from the food here. *shrugs* (Then again, I have a worm hole for a stomach..so I have no clue where food goes after it passes through.) My only real gripe with this place is the extremely dated tables, chairs and floor. The floors look like they haven't been properly cleaned in years. Not really appealing to anyone whose eating there.

I've ordered 3 times from Daro's for delivery and I was VERY pleased all 3 times. We ordered fettuccine alfredo (with and without grilled chicken), baked ziti, garlic bread with cheese, pizza rolls, cheese slices, chicken roll - all were tasty, plentiful. Prices are reasonable, the portions are huge and delivery was quick. 5 out of 5 - Highly recommended

Just ordered a fried calamari and pizza here and the calamari is super dry and sad looking. Never had such bad calamari. Pretty bad. Pizza was ok.

Ive been ordering here since 1997! Loved the pizzas. They taste different now than what I remembered but it's still good. My go to order is the Bacon Cheeseburger combo, comes fries and a drink. I also enjoyed the wraps and Beef patty with cheese. I stop by when I visit my parents who still live in the neighbor.

I absolutely love Daros. Been ordering from them since I was 12. I usually get the #5 or patty's with pepperoni and cheese. I've gone to some other fast food joints and they're horrible compare to Daros. For example Kennedy fried chicken at northern and main. They overcharged me $7.30 for just ONE bacon cheese burger with BURNT thin patty. When I couldn't gone to Daros for almost the same price if lower. a better bacon cheese burger with fries and a soda on the side. The people from Daro's have great customer service compare to others. They always greet me and cook my food with love. Never had a burnt burger or any problems with my order. Absolutely the best fast food joint. That's actually affordable and delicious

I don't know why this place have 3 star for my its 5! I order 3 time different food always come in time o early and food taste good only the pizza was little bit to messy but al other food i get was good

Although I have yet to actually step into this establishment I assume that its along the lines of Kennedy and Crown Fried Chicken....and I have yet to step into any of those joints either. i learned of Daro's through Grub Hub and was actually surprised to see that they only charged a 5.00 minimum for delivery, which is quite rare to find. Initially I was a bit skeptical but figured "what the hell first time for everything". Since I am the ultimate cheese lover I decided to try the spinach ravioli and added cheese and chicken for about 1.00 more. The service was super fast and they got to my apt. Within 30 minutes. My order also came with garlic knots as well. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was so much i ate off of it for 3 days. I had a heaping amount of cheese on the ravioli and they didnt short change on the chicken either. Since then Ive ordered the same dish about 4 times. I decided to try some other stuff on the menu such as the chicken gyro...which I would definitely pass on and the pizza which was just okay. I think I just stick with my usual spinach ravioli. I cannot vouch for anything else on their menu other than what was mentioned previously.

Holy Sh!t i wish i read the review before i brought the pizza. I came here because it was near my apartment and i was craving for some pizza. I ordered a Small Hawaiian pizza. Is it me or the 2017 version of pizza has no tomatoes sauce. Seriously its the dough + cheese + few pcs of ham + few pcs of pineapple making the pizza extremity dry on some part and extremity greasy in others . I would definitely not recommend getting pizza from this place EVER

My group and I wanted to try some good ol' New York pizza and we also wanted some as our 4th meal lol. So we Yelped for a pizza place that was near and one that was open at 12:30 in the morning, Daro's was the first one to come up! We ordered 2 pepperoni pizzas which came out to be $38 plus tip (pricey for 2 pizzas). It was late so we waited by the window for the delivery guy to come so he didn't have to ring the doorbell, but turns out that they deliver by bike! Whaaaattttt!!??? That was the first time I ever saw that in person, the only time I ever saw that was probably in a movie haha. When we opened the box we can see why the pizza was $38 = it was huge! The pizza was not too greasy or cheesy, it was a thin crust which I really like but overall it was an alright pizza. The next morning though, my boyfriend and his sister felt sick after eating it. All of us wanted to see what the hype was about with New York pizzas and when we finally did try it, it wasn't all that great :/

Dam best order of pizza ever. I ordered an medium cheese pizza and they didn't even give me my order of bacon... Customer service on the phone is very inefficient as the guy doesn't even understand me and thinks that I'm ordering another order of pizza.

Me and my friends usually order pizza from places like Pizza Hut or papa johns, but we decided to give local restaurants a try. Can definitely say we were not disappointed. We ordered a large pie half mushroom half pepperoni. The pepperoni was a bit oily but the mushroom was amazing. You can just taste that fresh baked goodness. The prices are fair too.

Ordered the cheeseburger combo as well as the 12 piece buffalo wings. I only received 6 pieces and can not get in touch with the restaurant to see about a refund or for the order. Will be too late by the time I can contact anyone.

I LOVE their food and customer service everyone here is so nice and friendly not to mention their prices!!!!! THEIR FRESH FRIED CHICKEN IS OUT OF THIS WORLD this pizza shop is a1

So I've been in and around the Flushing area for the last 20 years, but never got around to trying this place because it looked so...how shall I put it...ghetto? I decided to step in because I was hungry as heck, but didn't wanna sit down at pops and mars deli skeeves me out. I ordered the grilled chicken combo and was pleasantly surprised at the freshness and the taste...the best part is, it is ridiculously inexpensive. Of course it's a takeout joint, but the fries were crispy, the chicken was flavorful and the combo even comes with a soda/water all for $5. Can't beat that! I'm a little iffy about their pizzas from what I could see, so I'll probably stick with the make to order stuff instead of the already made stuff.

Took the guy on the phone 20 minutes to take my order for literally 2 menu items. Additionally, I wanted to order the grilled shrimp and instead of fries, replace with just plain pasta. They wanted to charge me $9 extra dollars. So my husband who was fed up with how long the order was taking says to just forget his shrimp and only order the chicken francese for myself and my daughter. The man hung up the phone without telling me my adjusted amount or how long it would take. I was very patient and kind during the call but did question why they were charging $9 extra dollars which he didnt like. No idea how the food is but their customer service and business manner sucks and for that, we will never order from them again!! Update. The chicken francese was the most disgusting food I have had. Chicken was rubbery and there was no lemon in the sauce. Terrible. My kid wouldnt even touch it and its her favorite dish.

Very good pizza and priced very well! Staff is also really nice as well. Their pizza crust isn't hard and dry like most other places which is a huge plus to me. They are open early on Saturdays!

It saddens me to have to write this review about a decent Pizza Restaurant in the Flushing community. Daro's. Prior to the pandemic, I would stop in Daro's after work and order various meals. Pizza, pasta or dessert. And my order was always well prepared. But, if you call in a delivery order, despite your tipping their delivery personnel respectfully-$4 and up, especially during the pandemic. The order is not given the same care. I have received, totally burnt pizza slices, unable to eat. I had to dispose. Received burnt garlic knots. Total unable to eat, I order Diet Coke, I receive Diet Pepsi which is not what I ordered on the phone. I have always been considerate of the delivery personnel when it came to tips before and during the pandemic. Although, I am not far from their location, I still made sure I tipped properly. So, if you phone in a delivery order, make sure you clarify your order before ending the call. Again, when you are placing your order in the restaurant-great service. But delivery orders be careful. Most of the servers in Daro's are professional. But more times then I care to mention. There is always a problem, with the delivery order.

I feel like I got scammed. I went in and asked for a pepperoni pizza and to confirm I told them I wanted the $7.50 one that's posted next to their front door. Any person would understand that when you say a specific price, it implies which size you want. The guy then proceeded to ask me if I wanted a large, to which I said ok bc I thought the $7.50 was the price for the large. I didn't realize anything was wrong until they collected my $20 and gave me $2.50 back. I thought they accidentally gave me $10 short, so I went up to them and asked about the price. They told me the large was actually $17. They gave me the wrong change and got my order wrong too. They gave me the correct change but I went along with the incorrect size. It would've been 3 stars if it was soley based on the pizza and this incident didn't occur.

Fried chicken. Yeah. The fried chicken. Also delivery averaged ~45 minutes from Eat 24. Did I mention a measly $5.00 minimum for delivery?! Noice noice

I ordered from Daro's for the first time today. I usually like my margarita pizza crust a little bit more crispy and thinner but it was really good. I think its the sauce and maybe they added a little parmesan cheese or something but it was pretty solid. AND they sell and deliver personal pizzas which is a total plus. It hit the spot.

My guy friends love this place. It reminds me of a dive bar, except instead of serving alcohol they serve fried chicken and pizza. It's nothing fancy, service and food here is quick and good and they're open late. Definitely caters to the late night snackers in the area.

Let me keep this review short. Ordered a pie, freshly made, waited for it. Six people ate the pie, six people got food poisoning/diarrhea. NEVER AGAIN.

Holy crap. Made a huge order for back to back days. They still cant get the time correct. Unbelievable!!!!

Disgusting I saw a rat running by the counter, the place is filthy! Fries on the floor, the drinks are warm, they use their hands when they grab stuff. Absolutely no regard for personal hygiene. No wonder I got sick when I ate there, barf! Avoid at all cost!

I agree with Jonathon .L Its 2016 and its the same thing . I have a strong suspicion why some people are being treated like this though.... Just a shame .doing these things is just causing the business to lose customers I'm done....

The prices are what really give this place the ok rating. The food is ok not great but it will get you sick with the time it takes for them to deliver the food. My pizza always comes cold and without a doubt they never bring me everything that i ordered. I give them 3 stars really for the price that's all

I always get the chicken and broccoli personal pie, which is 10" and comes in 4 slices. As a smaller girl, this lasts me all day. For $8, this is a steal. The pizza always comes fresh, which is why it takes a little long. I usually have to wait around 10 mins or so but no ones going to complain about fresh pizza!!! I call in advance now, or order on yelp before heading to pick it up. Great pizza spot!

Close and convenient. Great for late night munchies or cravings because they are open until 2am. The quality of food is pretty good. Friendly staff and clean location. Will return in the future to try other items on the menu.

These guys have been my staple, my bros, my go-to for pizza, garlic knots, (ask if they're soft first), and parmigiana heros. So much so that now I gotta stop going for awhile so I don't get fatter!

I order from Daro's pretty often on Grubhub. The delivery is usually pretty on time and their food is good. My favorites are their French fries and fried chicken special as well as their cheeseburgers. It's cheap and tastes good.

I order from here when I'm broke. Which is all the time. When I first started ordering it was up and down in quality. Recently has gotten better only had a few problems. Always sorted. My only complaint is...I wish they had more vegan options. The fries would be better if they were fried in separate oil.

Been coming here since my BF introduced me about 6 years ago. Some of their stuff isn't AWESOME but still good. Their chicken gyro is my favorite, as well as their bacon cheeseburgers (they also have double bacon cheeseburger). Their pizza is cheap, $8 for a medium pie take out or $10 large. But call ahead so you don't have to wait. Their pizza is pretty good, personally I think its better than most other places out in Flushing. Also, if you re-bake it at home for about 10 minutes it tastes even better because it'll have that crustier crust :D I also love how this place is almost like open 24 hours. I go still see them open at 1 AM to satisfy my cravings hehe :D

LOVE THIS GOD DAMN PLACE!!!!!! Let me start off by saying its poppin like the poppin daddys! You guys know what crown fried chicken is and kennedy? Its like that but better n he takes credit cards thats what makes them the man! I love the fried chicken n pizza n the burger my usual order is double cheese burger combo with 2 slices of pizza one thigh and a extra soda i bring my handsome skinny cousin with me too sometimes its real good check it out!! Fyi its real cheap also!

Veggie pizza was amazing! The shells had a great tasting sauce. They delivered fast and it was all great.

Pizza is 7.5/10. A bit too cheesy but crust is decent and sauce is decent as well. $2.5/slice. Overall, this place caters to a lot of different folks. Typical fast food stuff -- burgers, fries and drink, fried chicken, nuggets, etc. only thing missing is Chinese food. This place is a good 4/5 star rated place.

I would have liked to give this a sentimental 4 stars since this is where I hung out as a junior high school kid. Yea. That's 16 years ago. But realistically speaking I'm surprised this place is still open. They have expanded their menu over the decade to include pastas, sandwiches, melts, and chicken (which they also incorporated into their name). The quality of the pizza is alright. Nothing to write home about. The "happy hour" is 2pm to 5pm for after school 1.50/slice special. It used to be a dollar 16 years ago so I guess it didn't change that much. This is the place to go to if you want a more traditional pizza as opposed to a more hippy version of pizza served in Singas nearby.

It's okay...not the greatest, but it'll do. It's a nearby alternative to Singa's. With Singa's there's no single slices; you'll have to order the whole pie. Since I wasn't that hungry, went to Daro's, which was a few shops down. Typical greasy new yorker you'll have to blot with a napkin before taking a bite. It's cheap 'tho.

This is fast food that is affordable and delicious for the price point. I recommend the chicken wings, fried chicken, and pizza. Not a huge fan of the sandwiches. Swing by for a slice; otherwise delivery is good option.
