The Best Lunch In Midtown - New York - The Infatuation

"Dave’s Hot Chicken, which started in LA, has seven spice levels ranging from No Spice to Reaper. If you’re the masochistic type and you’re willing to sign a waiver (not joking), opt for the most extreme level and watch everyone laugh at you after your first few bites. Skip the forgettable sides, and stick with the juicy fried chicken items (sliders—which are actually full-size sandwiches—or tenders). What we most appreciate about this place is the variety of options they offer to balance out the heat, which include packets of honey, thick-cut pickles, a kale slaw, and their “Dave’s sauce,” which tastes like a combo of ketchup and mayo." - Team Infatuation

Dave's Hot Chicken Midtown Review - Midtown - New York - The Infatuation

"Dave’s Hot Chicken, which started in LA, has seven spice levels ranging from No Spice to Reaper. If you’re the masochistic type and you’re willing to sign a waiver (not joking), opt for the most extreme level and watch everyone laugh at you after your first few bites. Level five (Hot) seems to be the sweet spot. You’ll feel the heat, but you won’t start to cry. This first NYC location in Midtown is a straight-up fast food joint, but consistent lines mean that you likely won’t get your order that quickly. Skip the forgettable sides, and stick with the juicy fried chicken items (sliders or tenders). The menu labels the sandwiches here as “sliders,” which is a total misnomer. They’re full-size sandwiches. What we most appreciate about this place is the variety of options they offer to balance out the heat, which include packets of honey, thick-cut pickles, a kale slaw, and their “Dave’s sauce,” which tastes like a combo of ketchup and mayo." - Kenny Yang

LA Hot Chicken Chain Dave’s Opens First NYC Outpost in Midtown - Eater NY

"The Nashville hot chicken chain, one of the fastest-growing restaurants in the country, is opening its first New York outpost at 944 8th Avenue, near 56th Street, on August 19. The menu will be the same as the restaurant’s other locations, an employee at the new shop confirms to Eater, meaning tenders and hot chicken sandwiches at varying heat levels — “No Spice” to “Reaper” — are on the way. Doors open to the public at 10:30 a.m., and Drake, an investor in the business, is rumored to be making an appearance sometime on opening day, the employee says." - Luke Fortney

A must-visit for spicy fried chicken lovers! The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with bold flavors that don’t need any extra seasoning. You can choose your preferred spice level, and the house sauce is rich and perfectly balanced. The crinkle-cut fries are crispy and satisfying. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the place is impressively clean. Definitely worth a try if you’re into spicy fried chicken!

This is a chain you’ll find all over New York — and actually all across the country. So honestly, I went in with a bit of doubt, since places like that usually don’t taste all that great. The interior was simple, the menu was super straightforward, so I didn’t have to think much — just ordered casually. But wow, it was delicious! The crispy chicken tenders with spicy seasoning, dipped in honey and sauce, were so flavorful. That combo hits hard. And the little slice of white bread they serve with it? You use it almost like a handle — and it somehow pulls the whole bite together. For the price, the satisfaction level is honestly hard to beat. Definitely worth trying at least once!

Google
Place is small, not too many tables, conveniently benches next door. Service is friendly and fast. Chicken was delicious, very season fries which were 🤤 My son tried the medium level tenders that looked evil because of the color but it was surprisingly not that hot. Would definitely tried again, but I would do the loaded fries which I didn’t notice till too late. Probably step it up on the spice level, their sauce is also good.

Google
I tried Dave’s Hot Chicken in Manhattan and thought it was decent overall. The chicken strips were flavorful and had a nice crunch, but I wish they offered more variety. I would like wings, bone-in pieces, or even grilled options. The menu feels a bit limited if you’re not in the mood for tenders. Still, it’s a solid spot if you’re craving spicy fried chicken and don’t mind sticking to the basics.

Google
Friendly staff, hot chicken (both temp and spice level), and relatively short wait for a freshly made set of sliders. No upcharge for subbing slaw instead of fries. Highly recommend for take out since there are maybe half a dozen tables in the establishment — not super roomy. Luckily the chicken stays hot for a good while and the buns don’t get soggy, even when in a takeout box.

Google
This was my first time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken, and it definitely did not disappoint! I had the Dave’s #2 with medium spice, which was absolutely perfect. I’ve never had a chicken sandwich this good—huge compliments to the chefs! As a pickle fan, I really appreciated the extra pickles—such a great touch. If Dave’s were to expand to more countries in Europe, I have no doubt it would be a huge success. The only downside was that the location felt a bit messy and unclean, but given that it was during rush hour and it's a fast-food spot, it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, a fantastic experience—highly recommended!

Please order the cauliflower nibbles. One of the best item on the menu! Much smaller location than those in other cities. Limited seating area in the restaurant. They’ll give all orders as takeaways in a bag but you can sit in the restaurant to eat. Quality of the food is consistent and when we were there, the staff were really nice and friendly.

Crissy and Lena are great waitresses at Dave’s Hot Chicken. They always smile and say hello to the customers, making them feel happy. They pay close attention to orders and are quick to help everyone. Krissy knows a lot about the menu and helps people pick their favorite spicy chicken. Both have great customer services and are extremely lenient.

Yelp
First time at Dave's. Quite impressed with the amount of food you get in an order. Tasty sliders. The sauce accents the sliders very well. Clean restaurant with friendly and quick service. Enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
A personal favorite of mine. Dave's hot chicken. My item of choice. Combo 2, which is the 2 slider meal with fries. I do go with the hot level for chicken. There are 2 more levels above hot ( extra hot and atomic/reaper). This last visit was pretty good. Food was on point. It was quite busy when we went, but the food was prepared fairly quickly. They do have a reward program to accrue points, which can later be redeemed for menu items etc.

Yelp
Overall: This is a small store that mostly caters to people carrying out. They basically only serve a few permutations of fried chicken tenders with different levels of spicy sauce. The meals are well executed and are probably a step above many of the other fast food chicken places nearby. The portions are pretty huge and always fresh. Its a good place to grab lunch. Food: 4 Service: 4 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Food: Food is very good - probably closer to a 4.5, but doesn't quite push it over the top. I ordered the 2 slider meal, which comes with 2 sliders (full size chicken sandwiches) and fries. The chicken patty is basically just one of their tenders inside a roll with some cole slaw. The sauce is served in a small container on the side. Everything comes out hot and fresh. Fries are a bit over-seasoned. Service: The workers here are generally quick and polite. They mostly just operate the register and call out order numbers though. Value: All in, its ~$17 for the 2 slider meal. Its not horrible, but for a fast food its still a bit pricey. There is quite a lot of food. Atmosphere: Overall, the restaurant is small. There's maybe 10 total tables for customers. There is usually room to sit, though the line and people waiting for for typically fill up all of the remaining space. Its mostly a takeout spot.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. For a fast food place, this is as good as it gets for fried chicken that brings heat. The fries were well seasoned, crispy, and paired nicely with the Dave's Sauce. The hot spice level brought a good amount of heat that didn't overpower the flavor. Very crispy, juicy and fresh from the fryer. The pickles on the side also were a nice addition to the chicken. Super crowded, luckily was able to find a seat as someone was just leaving but the wait time is relatively low even on a busy evening.

Yelp
THISSS!!! This place surprised me. I've heard of this place before, but never been. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken sandwich was just a tender in a bun, but it melted in your mouth and had unbelievable flavor. I got both mild and lite mild. The lite mild to me did not have any mild flavor to me. The guy at the front register was super friendly, sweet, and patient. The inside is super cute, but small so limited seating. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
A little shop, but the food is VERY good! The kale slaw is perfectly seasoned. The cheese fries come in a large portion and was served hot with crispy fries and lots of cheese. Perfect snack!

Yelp
Tried Dave's in the city with a friend I wanted to meet up quickly with. Ive heard great things about this joint specifically because they use halal meat and we all know Halal fast food options are few and far between even in a place like New York City. The inside of the shop has ample amount of tables for a quick bite, although I will say the table tops were a little dirty and we had to clean it ourselves before getting seated. The chicken sliders were good, fried well and a generous portion of meat. I really liked the seasoning on the tenders and it was juicy and succulent inside. I do wish the sliders had more coleslaw to them, they need a fresh component. Fries were pretty standard. Overall I liked the flavors and would definitely pop by again for a quick bite. I especially love their extra hot it's actually spicy. Next time I'm gonna go for the reaper and see how that pans out.

Yelp
Dave's Hot Chicken serves up deliciously seasoned hot chicken tenders and crispy fries at a great price. I ordered my meal to-go, and despite the busy crowd, it was ready fast and piping hot. The chicken had the perfect level of spice, and the portions were generous. The food is consistently good, and it's a reliable choice for a quick and satisfying meal. If you're craving flavorful hot chicken, this is the place to go - there's also an area to sit and eat too with an old school looking vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
The sliders were bigger than I thought, the #4 was definitely enough for me for a meal. I got the hot level but it wasn't that spicy. Also the dry rub didn't really have much of a flavor, just spice. But the sandwich was delicious and balanced in texture and flavor. For a fast food joint, I definitely liked it! This location wasn't too busy and waited about 8 mins for my order. The girl who took my order was very smiley and sweet! The guy who was preparing the meals was moving pretty quickly as well. Don't see that type of service very often these days. There were seats to sit in and eat as well which is nice. I'll come back for sure!

Yelp
Update: DO NOT COME HERE, CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS YET AGAIN! I posted a previous review talking about my experience at Dave's Hot Chicken and how they refused to give me and my fiance a free slider on the 24th for the Drake Birthday promotion after 9pm. The store contacted me and gave me a $10 food voucher redeemable at any location, which I appreciated. I went back to the 56th location today (walking 2 miles yet again) to use the voucher. I ordered a slider and tender combo, but when the cashier tried to enter the code I had on my phone it did not work. It was set to expire after a 15 minute timer so I was trying to get my order in urgently. After 3 attempts, it still did not work so I asked to see a manager. He was incredibly rude and it almost seemed like he was interrogating me or trying to imply that my coupon code was fake. I showed him the text I received from customer service which led to the link, and he still wasn't really believing me. After some argument, he eventually offered me a measly 20% off my order but told me my coupon was not good. Needless to say, I walked out of the store without ordering anything. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. If a restaurant manager is reading this-- please make it right somehow.

Yelp
after seeing probably millions of tiktok videos i HAD to try for myself i came to the location in midtown and immediately was greeted with kindness. also loved that this location was very easy to find. i ordered the hot chicken slider and tender - wow was it good and hot!! my lips were burning but the hot-ness wares off quick. its a very savory and delicious spice plus the chicken is so juicy and crunchy - the perfect combo. the mac and cheese too was a bit different - a little more spicy but definitely cheesy would DEF recommend and come back - im so full snd happy

Yelp
I have been dying to try Dave's chicken and see what the hype is about. I ordered their chicken tender sliders with French fries, not spicy. The fries were actually very crisp and the chicken had good flavor. It's not the most amazing chicken I have ever tried but it does have good flavor. I believe that for the price and flavor, it is a bit overhyped. The order did take a while since it was somewhat a busy afternoon. The menu is very small so the selections are limited.
google avatar

Bianca T.

Yelp
The line was so long today and there was no real effort on the staff's part to make the line go faster. Only taking 3-5 customers. I waited an hour and half for my chicken sandwich. The sandwich is just okay. If you want a quality chicken sandwich go across the street to Sophie's Cuban Cuisine. It is worth noting the slushy options are tasty. Inside the restaurant has no bathroom but a decent amount of seating. I wouldn't go back. The wait time was disappointing. It was obvious the staff did not want to give out the sandwiches.
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
Solid (and spicy!) hot chicken. Dave's Hot Chicken offers a pretty limited menu (chicken tender either in a bun or on white bread, fries, kale slaw, mac n cheese) and that is A-okay cause the chicken is definitely the main attraction and all you really need. The "hot" heat is a tasty spicy with a definite kick. My usual order is two tenders or sliders and fries and it's a pretty filling meal. Staff is nice and helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
Utterly disappointed with what I was served at my first visit. My expectations were pretty high due to the hype around Dave's Hot Chicken but I was pretty let down. The employees were very kind but the food was pretty bland. The chicken didn't taste fresh and my fries were barely seasoned. Hopefully if I ever spin back i'll update but for now this gets a 5.5/10
google avatar

Yelp
For a "fast food" chicken sandwich, Dave's Hot Chicken is super great! Wouldn't even be able to tell if someone said it was from a mom and pop shop. The chicken is nice and not dried, not too crispy that it cuts your inner mouth either. You can choose your spice level and I usually go for mild which is enough for me. The chicken sandwich has a chipotle mayo sauce on top, has pickles and also some salad slaw in it. Pretty sure it is a nice soft potato bun too that is used. Service is fast and the workers are friendly. The store is also clean and there is some seating area with tables and chairs.

Yelp
After seeing it everywhere on the internet, finally went in to give it a try. Got the single slider with fries with medium spice level. The chicken slider was good. Not spicy at all for me.Should have taken the next level of spice. The fries were good. The sauce is amazing. The guy at pickup was kind enough to give me some extra sauce. The service was quick and efficient. It has a small seating area as well. Not great for large groups though.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try out Dave's Hot Chicken for a while and am so glad they opened one in in NYC. I went and hot the 2 sliders with fries level HOT. I am so glad i went with regular hot and not extra hot like i would normally do as the sliders were so hot that it left my mouth hurting for a bit. the fries were good but not enough. I would have liked a better portion size for the fries. the dave's sauce was pretty good, it was great drizzling it over the fries and the sliders. the price of the food was a little higher than what i think it should be but for wanting to try it out it wasn't bad ($14.99 with tax).
google avatar

Vanessa A.

Yelp
Arrived mid day on a Sunday. All seats were taken inside but there was no wait for ordering. I ordered the #3 combo - tender, slider and fries (approximately $15 including tax). I figured this would give me a chance to try mild and medium spice levels. It took about 2 minutes for me to get my order. The portion was huge!!! Neither spice level was really that spicy though. It was almost hard to tell the difference between the two. I'd be afraid that hot would then be too spicy. You're given a slice of bread under the tender, not sure why. Seems kind of wasteful. I could've skipped the fries. The chicken is what matters!
google avatar

Yelp
I've eaten at the LA restaurant years ago back when they were serving it in a parking lot. Still so good. So cool to see them expanding and for good reason. Delicious meal. So easily 5s because the food is bomb, filling, and the value is terrific. A sandwich, fries, and pickles for $11? Incredible value. I loved that about my meal and the flavors back up the hype. I got a medium slider and fries (Number 4) and I'm still stuffed 6 hours later. They gave a hearty slab of chicken on mine. So tasty. The flavors are so good on every bite. Meaty chicken. The fries are so terrific with the Cajun spice. Loved the fresh fresh pickles. Dave's Sauce with the fries are a must and I'd get more sauce beforehand.
google avatar

Yelp
First experience with Dave's Hot Chicken, and the staff who took my order were exceptionally friendly. Opted for Dave's #3--1 Tender, 1 Slider, and Fries, mac & cheese --accompanied by an Oreo vanilla shake. The chicken was tender, served with a side of Dave sauce. Quick service; my order took about 5 minutes due to a sparse crowd. The flavor was excellent, though the spiciness seemed a bit overwhelming. Nonetheless, the portion size was generous. Conveniently located near trains and buses. I like how small and simple the menu is. The mac and cheese was good too. I went in there really hungry and came out really full. I

Yelp
4.5/5 stars. Really liked my sandwich and the spice level. The fries were good too and the service was quick.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid spot for spicy fried chicken. Hot is a decent level of spice if you can handle spicy food.
google avatar

Kendra W.

Yelp
Dry rub chicken that you can choose your heat strength from none to Reaper. It amazes me how there was no wet sauce. Sliders are regular sized sandwiches don't let the name fool you. I got the slider and 1 tender meal (tender comes with a bread slice). I'd say spend $1 more and just get 2 sliders. Added cheese to my fries for $1.50. Coke fountain products self serve. No restroom on site.

Aya E.

Yelp
Ordered: Dave's #2: 2 sliders with fries (~$15): mild spice; served with kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce Mac & Cheese side (~$4) Aya's take: Dave's Hot Chicken opening in NYC is exactly what we as a civilization needed. I'm glad the Nashville hot chicken craze is taking over NYC, and Dave's could not have come at a better time. The chicken tenders are crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Honestly, even 1 slider is a lot so this can easily be shareable with another person. The fries were crispy and the crinkle-cut fits so well with this. The Dave's sauce and pickles really take this to the next level. I recommend asking for extra sauce. The only let-down of this meal was the Mac & Cheese. I would skip it. It was cheesy but had no flavor. The bowl was also only half full. Overall, stick to the chicken here (obviously), you will not regret it!

Yelp
At first glance the food looked amazing. Turns out food was mid at best. SUPER salty and DRY. WAIT time was about 30 mins. Dirty they don't clean the store. I now have diarrhea because of this establishment. Thank you Dave's Hot Chicken for the garbage experience!

Yelp
food was amazing service outstanding. the girl that took my order was nice and understandin.

Yelp
Wow. Finally, Dave's hot chicken is in town! I can't tell u how excited I am. N Dave's hot chicken does not disappoint! Juicy, crunchy n spicy. This is the best combo of a great fried chicken sandwich it can be. Price is also legit. There are only 4 choices but would be great if more options can be offered. Nevertheless, I recommend this place!!!
google avatar

Tisha C.

Yelp
I was so determined to see what the hype was about and it was worth it. I can say I would choose Dave's Chicken over Chick fil a because of the flavors the chicken has along with the sauce that is the only thing I needed and the seasoned fries with pickles on the side and a side of bread will be giving I say a cookout meal and enjoyed everything even that Dave's sauce is giving ranch with French dressing vibes. The guys was so nice to welcome me and give me other locations to make sure I have other options. I love that it's prepared so you have to be patient. It's worth the buck because of everything not being bland all flavor

Yelp
My wife and I didn't care for the taste of the Chicken. We were disappointed. There are other fast food chains who've we tried with much better tasting Chicken. What is the source of the Chicken. Is it free range, organic or is it Chicken mixed with a filler?
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
I've heard of the chain for a while now, so I was glad to hear one would open in NYC. It is close to the Columbus Cirlce/Central Park South area which is pretty centrally located in midtown Manhattan...so its convenient fo many. I got there around 2 pm on a weekday and the place was fairly empty, though over time i saw lots of delivery order pickups come in during the 30 minutes I was there. There are about 6 tables with chairs in the space itself. The space was great with some cool decor (lots of wall art). I ended up getting the slider + fries combo ($11) and a bottled soda ($3). The menu also had tenders, mac and cheese, kale slaw, bottled drinks, fountain drinks and milk shakes. My number was called in about 10 minutes. The tender itself (which is served as either a tender or in sliders) was fried perfectly (great crunch) but was lacking flavor in my opinion. Despite getting the "medium" heat option, the "taste" of the tender was just hot. Being that it is dry rub...doesn't help it either. What does help...is the slider's combination of the bread, slaw and pickle... I would NOT recommend getting the tender itself. The fries were great. The medium heat option, was hotter thn I expected...so be mindful if you want to order the hot, extra hot or reaper options. I heard that there is a waiver required to order the reaper. There is a fountain soda machine in the corner. All staff there were very nice. It was nice to see staff going around sweeping the floors and cleaning tables.

Yelp
I saw that this place opened and whenever I walked by there was a line out the door so I thought I'd wait for the buzz to subside before trying it out. Well, there is still a line out the door but I discovered you can order online and go pick it up, so I gave that a shot and it worked great! The two sliders and fries was a little on the pricey side at about $18 but I guess that's not too bad for midtown. I would say you will definitely get your fill with that order. I had mild, which was spicy enough to make my nose run but not so spicy that my eyes started watering! Inside there is a line to order when you're there and another line to pick up. The pickup line is packed with food delivery folks and people like me who ordered ahead, but the staff that was manning that area was great so I was able to get my food and pop out the door in less than a minute. The food is great and I really enjoyed it. This place is just down from a Popeye's, which has probably the most terrible service of any place I've ever been so it's nice for someone like me who wants spicy chicken without the attitude. I'm a fan.

Yelp
Wow! What a discovery! A friend of mine wanted to eat next door at Lenwich but this place caught my attention. And oh boy am I glad I got this instead! Excellent decision on my part. Ambience looks like a fast food joint that has a very loud, colorful, artsy theme and chicken signs everywhere along with level of spiciness options. Service was great. She greeted us with a smile and had a very pleasant demeanor. The flavors and spices of the chicken blew me away! It was packed with a punch of spices and the chicken was tender. The fries had the same spice punch and it was also perfectly cooked. 10/10 I do recommend! Telling all my friends to try this spot!
google avatar

Jeniece R.

Yelp
Dave's Hot Chicken was so delicious! I ordered the meal with two sliders and fries and honestly it was too much food for me and I should've gotten just one slider lol. The chicken was perfectly cooked. I got extra hot and I didn't feel like it was too spicy for me (but I like spicy food). The fries were nice and crispy. The sauce was everything. I also tried the Mac and cheese and didn't think it was bad but it wasn't amazing. I ordered for pickup and got my order pretty quickly. Definitely would return!

Yelp
Amazing meal, I just wish it had more flavor. They're famous for their spices which are NO JOKE. My cousin decided to get the reaper special and boy let me tell you... The spices were so hot he was sweating for 30 minutes straight. I chose to get the mild because my spice tolerance is low. I love the crispiness of the fries, the sauce I did not expect to be so delicious. So it definitely makes up for the flavor. Thr pickles were the icing on the cake as they're my fav. The customer service was shockingly good knowing the crowds they receive. Nice little seating area inside with good lighting. 8/10 overall

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying I was avidly keeping up with the updates about when Dave's was landing in NYC. The fact that it was a halal chain had me impossibly excited to try it considering that it was so well known across the United States. It seemed everyone else was too because there was a long line to order. And forget about getting a seat inside. Today I had the chance to try it and carted five of my friends along with me (who don't get out much) so I was really looking forward to experiencing Dave's together. Despite all of us having a wide range of palates, experience with hot chicken, and spice none of were really too impressed. Honestly it's almost embarrassing that I, the foodie in the group, brought them to a spot I was eager about only to let the entire team down. It's a little dramatic but I take pride in sharing good food with my friends and this wasn't it. The service was good. The lady at the register was really friendly despite being under so much pressure. As for the gentleman operating the other one, not so much. I get it, the lines are really long and there's a lot of people I don't expect rainbows and sunshine but I could see that it made my friends really uncomfortable. As for the food. I got the number two. The two sliders and fries combo and Mac and cheese. There were random pickles in the box and sauce to go with the fries. I guess pickle eaters would rejoice at the former. We'll start with the side because it was the most disappointing of all. The Mac and cheese tasted literally identical to a frozen Mac and cheese I bought from target last year. If I remembered the brand I would tell you. The portion size was ridiculous and not in a good way. It wasn't even filled close to the top and there was no utensil in my bag to eat it with. Now I'm not adverse to eating with my hands but does anyone eat Mac and cheese with their fingers? I think not and with no seating available in the store that was definitely not gonna happen. I understand they're busy but considering how they were so quick to chase us out the store, you would think they'd minimize the need for customers to return. There were no napkins either. I had walked quite a distance away before making this realization and had to turn back and go back in to get some. Everyone serving the food was really nice about it. I'm sure that because the spot has been open for only a couple weeks they're just getting into the groove of things so hopefully going forward this won't happen again for other customers. As for the sliders combo. The portion size is really great for the cost. No complaints at all there. I think you're getting your monies worth. I'm curious if they have an option to just buy a single slider because it feels more cost effective for those who can't eat that much but because they were so busy I didn't ask. As for the taste, pretty okay. I ordered "hot" and it wasn't hot at all but that all comes down to tolerance level so I can't fault anyone for that. I think one level higher would've been better for me. It was juicy for sure and the coleslaw cooled it down and the pickles added a crunch but bun was literally cold. I wish there was a little more coleslaw just because it felt like there was a single teaspoon on there but no biggie really. The fries were fine lol. Nothing to say about them. If they messed those up I wouldn't really know what to say. Overall, I think Dave's is just okay. With the long lines, the potential chance of being yelled at by someone at the register, the impossibility of sitting down to eat, and the average food, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm so appreciative they made the chain halal so Muslims can eat the food but there's better halal spots out there.

Yelp
Dave's hot chicken invasion of NYC has now begun, with the first location close to Columbus Circle, already packed the day before the official grand opening, when Drake is rumored to make an appearance. I thought it was smarter to get here before that madness, so I luckily tried everything today with just a short wait. There aren't really many options for real hot chicken of this style in NYC, so it's fairly easy and not too controversial to declare this the best of its kind here. The "Hot" level is definitely hot enough, and anything above that is probably more to prove something to somebody than to enjoy it. The crinkle cuts are great too and the very simple, cheap menu makes this an excellent spot for a quick, satisfying fried meal.

Yelp
So, this restaurant sells what it advertises in its name - hot chicken. There are two options: slider and chicken strip. It seems to be popular with high school aged boys. The type that eat hot Cheetos all day and then wonder why their stomach hurts. If you're not a teenage boy, the chicken strips are large enough that you could split one of the meals. The sauce that comes with the meal was fine, but nothing special. The bread was just a couple of slices of sandwich bread. Not toasted, buttered, whatever, but just grabbed from a loaf of white bread. The prices aren't great for fast food unless you split a meal, and there's very little seating, so hopefully you either live close or it's a nice enough day to walk to the park and eat. Overall, it's not really my thing, so I probably won't go back, but if you like food whose flavor description is just hot, you'll probably like it.

Yelp
So worth the hype! I've never had Dave's before but I am now a huge fan. High quality fast food chain with fantastic customer service and delicious food. My boyfriend and I came here on opening day and it was packed inside. We managed to catch basically no line but since we live around the block, we've noticed increasing line lengths as the hours and days since opening have progressed. We each got Dave's number 3, one in mild and the other in reaper. My boyfriend had to sign a waiver for the reaper and he loved it. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and topped with the best semi-sweet and spicy seasoning - I could put this on everything. The fries were crispy and also topped with the same seasoning. I highly recommend this spot, the lines do tend to move quick and I'm sure it'll be bustling for a good while.

Yelp
Came here due to all of the reviews and all the social media attention. I was in the area so decided why not give it a shot. They have locations in other areas besides nyc. So, this is the only place nearby. Didn't know what to expect. This place is no frills and pretty chill. They don't have a public restroom so just know that. They do have long lines and the wait after is a bit long to get your food. There's limited amount of indoor seating so scope it out and first come - first serve. However, the food was good. I got the sliders which come with fries. If you want to know the difference between sliders and just tenders, just know that it's the bread and pickles. They use the same meat for both. You can also choose the spice level. I chose hot and didn't taste it until I ate the meat by itself. I was burning up!! Would I go back? Most likely not as it is quite pricey and so many restaurants to check out in the area.

Yelp
The customer service there is stupendous! Absolutely amazing honestly never had a fast food type spot ask me if I enjoyed the food after I was done eating and how I liked the sauce and made sure to tell me to have a great day 10/10 ! It's very clean and neat and I love the artwork in there gives off dope vibes. But on to the actual chicken sandwich it was phenomenal! It's really big so I normally wouldn't be able to finish the whole sandwich but it was so good I couldn't help myself , so crispy crunchy and juicy all at the same time and the sauce is delicious and the size of the sauce packet they give you is huge too! Just look at the picture of me holding it in my hand ! And I will be back for more !

Yelp
Crowded as it can be if you go after work like I did. You may it difficult to find a spot to wait if you're picking up an order but the staff is nice and on point. I got no spice items and came here after some complaints to corporate about the nonexistent delivery experience I had when my sister suggested I try it. Going here finally gave me a chance to try the food for myself. If you want an idea of Southern cuisine and like chicken, this is for you. The fries have a kick but aren't overwhelming with spices. The no spice chicken sandwich was heavenly as were the chicken tenders. I discovered the lowest spice level is a bit too much for me but if you like the heat, you'll love this chicken. Pricing is affordable and I saw quite a few people dining here; in fact, this might just be a cuisine that brings lots of different people together and make them forget their differences. Dave's Hot Chicken might just contribute to saving humanity.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! I see what the hype is about!!! The chicken quality tasted really good and the seasoning is feugo!!! I would highly recommend this chicken spot! They give you a lot of food and the sauce is a banger! The line gets long but deff worth the wait. The chicken is perfectly crispy and you have a choice of different spice levels. Barely any seating so you'll most likely have to get it to go. There is no outdoor seating options.

Yelp
If you're craving fast food chicken that's not Chick-fil-A, then Dave's hot Chicken is the spot to visit. While their menu is pretty small, mostly combinations of sliders and tenders, plus sides, they do their chicken very well. I got the fourth meal which was one slider with fries. You can customize your spice level, I opted for medium which was just enough to feel a kick but not quite the point where I regretted my dinner decisions. The chicken itself was so moist , served in a generous portion and perfectly crispy. The store is pretty small, with like 5 tables. Everything was provided in disposable containers and packets, so a lot of waste is generated (they even give out plastic bags)! Service was very fast though, and despite the crowd I was able to get my food pretty quickly.

Yelp
This was very hyped up in the Halal community. But for us, it was just an average Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich joint. I've had my fair share of these type of sandwiches and the best ones to me are located in the South. One day I'll finally go to Nashville and actually have a real comparison! We went on a week day, in the middle of the day. So it wasn't busy at all (opposed to the long lines I have seen on social media on the weekends). Matter fact,, we were like the 5th customer during that time frame. The service was quick. The pricing is fair for the location as well. The restaurant is pretty small for a stroller/family to come in at once. But it's definitely a good size for the city and for those in a hurry and by themselves. We ordered #1 and #2. I shared a #2 with my husband and 1 year old - that definitely was a mistake since I was still hungry after eating my portion. The sister-in-laws got the #1s and they were ok with them. Not really blown away. But also not displeased. Again, we just weren't experiencing anything new and exciting... hence my not so pumped up review. Would I recommend to others? I guess if you've never tried a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and you're in the area... sure.

Yelp
Food (4/5): Chicken strips and fries were delicious and well made. Venue (3/5): For how busy it is, the venue is quite small and is sparsely decorated. However, it gets the job done. Service (4/5): Whilst they could be more friendly, food came out reasonably fast and people were helpful.

Yelp
Many people seem to be impressed by Dave's Hot Chicken. I've seen it dubbed as the most flavorful and juicy chicken one can try. I definitely wanted to explore this hype and did so a couple of weeks ago by ordering their #2 combo platter to-go. At first glance, 2 measly tenders and a handful of fries doesn't seem like it'll do much for most people. However, rest assured that these tenders are not regular-sized. They're pretty gigantic and looking back, one would have been plenty enough for me. I ordered my chicken as light mild which is the mildest spice level on the menu. I was pretty intimidated when I opened my container and saw that the chicken was red, because from the color it looked like the spice level would be more than I could handle! Thankfully, I think that redness just came from paprika or a similar spice. The chicken tenders themselves were good. They almost have a bit of a sweet taste to them on the breading. The light mild still had somewhat of a kick but I was able to handle it. The chicken was pretty moist on the inside. All in all it was good, but didn't wow me. The fries and the special sauce were awesome. I love how they throw some of the spice blend from the chicken onto the fries and slice of bread. I won't be in too much of a rush to return, but maybe I'll give them another shot in the future.

Yelp
The location is clean but very small, and very busy. The wild thing is that these pictures look fake but the food legit looks unreal . The food is beautiful and delicious. The location is fast paced so youll be able to get your meal and be out. The menu is very straightforward. Sliders or tenders or sliders and tenders. Its pricey because its very large pieces of chicken, the photos dont do it justice. I got two sliders meal and a tender bc im ridiculous. There are levels of flavors. Choose accordingly, medium was still spicy so dont play bc its seasond and spicy. So if regular seasoning hurts you..dont get crazy. Its a Columbus circle must try.
