as a boba tea head , i can confirm this is my favorite tea shop in the city. amazing flavor with the fruit drinks like milky blueberry and milky strawberry. if you want a refresher, get the jasmine lychee! the new addition ube bobo has become one of my favorite as well. one plus is some of the fruit drinks you can make it hot so it’s not unbearable in the winter!! i love everything about this shop even the cute bottles you can reuse for your commute coffee.

Amazing! I came here in a 30 minutes before close. As I was walking I cane across two others who had boba from Débutea. I asked them if it was still tasty and fresh and they confirmed it was! 😁. I originally went for brown sugar boba but the strawberry was just SO convincing. I had to get it. It’s amazing. Fresh chewy boba, lactose free milk, and cheese foam. The staff was hospitable and very professional. I definitely will be coming back.

I'll be honest and say that Débutea just happened to be on the way from lower Manhattan all the way up to Bryant Park during our extreme walking marathon, and it couldn't have been a better stopover on a hot, humid New York day. The spot was super cute and their drinks were even cuter. Everything came in a plastic mason jar that you could save or recycle, so I expected high quality tea drinks. As a lover of milk teas, I went with their Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Oat Milk and Boba. I love that they offered non-dairy milk options here instead of just using a non-dairy creamer. My drink came out beautifully and after mixing it together, I could taste the high quality tea and the boba itself. Yum! Everyone seems to be raving about their quality fruit teas so that will have to be a go-to for next time.

I stopped by Débutea on 04/27 and casually picked one of the drinks from the signboard — the Rose Blueberry with caramel boba, which came to 💰$10.34 after tax. The shop was buzzing with customers coming and going. The wait time was shorter than HeyTea, which I appreciated. While waiting, I noticed two unique jellyfish-shaped lights near the entrance. It made me think that Débutea isn’t just inspired by nature in their drinks, but carries that same inspiration into their interior design too. As for the drink, I was genuinely impressed. The rose aroma was rich and elegant, giving the drink a floral lift without being overpowering. The blueberry slush was smooth and consistent throughout, adding a cool and refreshing base, while the caramel brought a subtle thickness and a touch of sweetness. The boba pleasantly chewy which had great texture. What I really appreciated was how well each element balanced the others. The floral and fruity notes blended seamlessly, creating a layered flavor experience without any of the components clashing or overwhelming one another. If I had one suggestion, it would be to print the sentence that I saw on their in-store display onto the cup itself. It was about "An ode to spring, where floral elegance meets the vibrant energy of renewal." That sentence captured the drink perfectly. You can think of it as a seasonal story told through flavor, where floral grace and fruity brightness come together in one cup.

Debutea has been a regular spot for me and my girlfriend—we go often because she loves their soy milk tea, and I’ve always enjoyed the variety of drinks too. Their seasonal options, like the Pomelo and Coco Mango, have usually been hits with me. That said, today was the first time I left really disappointed. I ordered the Chrysanthemum tea, and it was by far the most watered-down drink I’ve ever had from them. Even my girlfriend immediately asked if it was just water before I tried it—and sure enough, it basically tasted like plain water. For a place that usually delivers on flavor and quality, this was surprising and really off-putting. We’ll still probably come back for our usual favorites, but I’d recommend avoiding the Chrysanthemum tea—it just doesn’t live up to the standard Debutea usually sets.

I like the design and the smell. Like the exposure of fruits on the table. Drinks are maybe a bit too pricey, additionally, there’s almost no sitting except a small bench that’s inside the cafe for two people.

Love that they use fresh ingredients in their drinks rather than pre-made powder. I was originally going to order the taro bobo but saw that they had boxes of mango in the front and had to get "Mango" instead (yes, the drink is literally called just that) which has a green tea base to it. The sugar level was adjustable; the ice level and size was not. Mango was really good! Orders are placed from a kiosk which only takes card so it's not the most personable experience but I don't mind it. Wait time was a little bit longer for the fresh fruit-based drinks. They do have options for Lactaid, oat milk, and toppings at an additional charge.

I tried a couple of drinks from Debutea after hearing good reviews from local friends. Overall, I thought the drinks that I tried were good but not great, but it's possible that I could find something I loved here. The shop is very small and has ordering via kiosks. I got the guava slush drink, which had very pure guava flavor. The menu said it came with "fruit tea boba" which was, disappointingly, just flavorless, hard crystal boba. Maybe I just prefer artificial guava flavoring... The slush was also not very smooth. After being disappointed in my first drink, we decided to try another one. I got the bobo milk tea -- I chose no caffeine, which I think ends up just being bobo milk. It was pretty standard. The boba texture was good, but was way too sweet -- towards the end when the drink is mostly brown sugar boba it becomes sickeningly sweet. Overall I wasn't in love with anything from this place, but perhaps I will return for another drink in the future!

Pretty small boba shop with very limited seating; feels more like a grab and go. Service was fairly fast; we got our boba within 5 minutes of ordering! I got the black milk tea, and it was good! Strong tea flavor, with a solid amount of creaminess. Their pearls are cooked in brown sugar (which they don't indicate anywhere), which I'm not a huge fan of; it overwhelms the flavor of the drink a bit too much. The pearls also came out a bit warm and soft, so it took around 5-10 minutes for them to firm up to the level of chew I like. We also got a four seasons green tea with cheese foam. The tea itself was really rich, and it tasted like they brewed it with fresh tea leaves. The foam is creamy and flavorful; one of the better cheese foams I've had! Drink overall was great. Would definitely give it a go if you're in the area.

Bit of an awkward space - you walk and in to the right there are two kiosks you can order from. You don't really ever order with a person it seems. There's space to stand and wait and a tiny bit of seating along the windows. I got a hot brown sugar boba black tea - it was served in the cute jar even though it was hot! They packed it nicely to go and cover the straw hole - thumbs up. Pretty decent, not too sweet.

Maybe I've been spoiled by the boba in the Bay Area, but I found this place to be lackluster. There are two kiosks that you can order from, and the space inside of the shop is a little small with only some benches near the windows that you can sit on. There was also some kind of collaboration event going on, so there was also an additional table that was taking up more of the limited space inside. The service was alright. There was a bit of a wait, but nothing unusual compared to other locations. The drink I got, the Strawberry Bobo, was just okay. It had a nice fruity flavor, but seemed a bit small for the price that I got it for. I suppose one of the other flavors could've been better, as there were a lot of unique flavors like guava and purple yam. I also have a strong aversion to papaya, which seemed like something that they were more known for, so maybe a papaya enjoyer would like this place more. Overall, it was an okay experience but not a place that I would go to again.

Could be a new favourite bubble tea spot in the city! Note that it is a bit on the pricier side at ~7.5$ for this bubble tea, but look at the packaging! It's like it comes in a mason jar and that's so exciting :) The flavor was pretty solid and I liked the self service element of it, it took a while but was seamless otherwise. They've got seasonal flavours too so that would be fun to try out.

The chestnut boba was okay. Flavor was on point and I loved the carmelized pecans and brown sugar boba, but the chestnut kernels were way too hard and gave the drink such a grainy texture. Papaya drink was amazing tho. Loved the chewy barley kernels they add in. There's not much room to sit, but the decor is so pretty and has such a cozy ambience.

The coconut mango drink was great! The mangos tasted fresh and the drink was overall a great dessert. You order on the kiosk and we waited about five minutes for the drinks.

Went last week because the TikToks made it seem so cozy. It is very small inside with more than half of the space being taken by a large table. There are kiosks to order from and seating by a window for at max maybe 4 people. We had incorporated this into our night's itinerary thinking that it was a cute cafe to sit down and enjoy some coffee and pastries. We quickly got our drinks to go and left as there was no room inside. The drinks themselves were good, but the packaging was the highlight. Very aesthetically pleasing packaging. Service was quick, functions more as a to-go order place. Wish this place was more of a sit - down cafe, they have a lot to offer.

Quick service, cute decor, nice location. We got the milky papaya -- and though I don't even like papaya, the texture and drink were high quality. They also had an avocado series in addition to the papaya -- very unique flavors!

Really authentic bubble tea! I like that you can order from a mobile screen similar to that of McDonald's. The bubble tea itself is really cutely packaged and tasted good once the ice cooled down the container. I got the regular milk tea with boba. My friend got the jasmine tea with boba. I'd come back and try other items on the menu!

Made a quick stop here for a boba after walking around for quite some time and the fresh mango did not disappoint. The actual boba was also delicious and had a great level of chewy.

My avocado drink was perfect! It was so rich, perfectly blended with the right level of sweetness. Service was fast. I wish they had the mango available. It's not as inviting inside, there was only 1 bench, no tables. The tables and chairs are located on their outside patio.

Debutea is probably one of my favorite Asian tea places in the city. The prices, though slightly higher than other tea shops, are well deserved. The tea is solid, and the ingredients (especially the fruit) are fresh and higher quality than other competitors.

Perfection in a cup. I've tried almost everything and all have been a home run. Highly recommend anything with mango or coconut

My little son (9) and I were walking south, zig-zagging from Forbidden Planet in Union Square to Sullivan Street to meet a friend who lives in Soho. It was hot, 84º F and we were getting heat frustration so we wanted to stop for a cold drink. We didn't think of tea but the place looked appealing and had a few guests waiting. Unless paying with cash you must use the Texas-size tablet/kiosk which at first seemed annoying. I don't mind using these but I wasn't in the mood to potentially discover that a kiosk that I never used before would be unintuitive. The kiosk did, however, display all of the beverage customizations and that was fun. My son wanted a fruit drink initially so we chose the Super Pineapple fresh fruit tea. His had oolong (vs. green) tea, blended (vs. cubed) ice and whipped cream (as opposed to none, or ice cream). His drink had crushed fresh pineapple as well and it was so delicious and tasted more like a high-quality batido (Latino fruit shake) than a tea. At nine years old he has never had a cup of tea in his life and this did not taste of tea, which had me relieved because I was somewhat prepared for having to trade mine for his should he not like it. I chose one of their featured drinks, the Milky Strawberry. It has choice of milk, macerated fresh sliced strawberries in juice, and the choice of sweetener level. I chose organic oat milk and less sugar. This drink was incredibly delicious, surprisingly so because it exceeded my expectations in how the oat milk substitution and less sugar would have resulted. Neither one of us chose bubbles aka boba aka pearls but this is very big thing here as well with different kinds of tapioca pearls. They looked great but we weren't in the mood to fish them out while walking. I do think they take longer than it seems to prepare the drinks and longer than it should. They are bottlenecked, it seemed, with delivery app orders as well as a queue of in-person patrons. However, the quality of this tea is superb and while it might seem like a small thing to have, I would definitely go back and maybe order ahead.

I like the fruit teas here and recently opted for a summer special Peach Bobo Milk Tea with Oat Milk (75 ¢) (they also have lactose-free milk for no extra cost and almost milk for 75 ¢) to come out to just under $9. I appreciate the customizations and was surprised to see you could add vanilla ice cream for a dollar, still wondering which drinks that would pair best with. The drink comes nicely packaged with a lid and a place to poke your straw. I loved the real peaches inside they added a fresh fruity taste. I was left chewing on those and well as a clear jelly of sorts, it has its own filling so don't add any extra to overcrowd the cup and mess with the flavor. It is perfect as is. It had a slushee-like consistency and was surprisingly not sweet- it tasted like one of those pre-packaged peach smoothies. It's refreshing and summery for sure. Don't think it's the best fruity/milky flavor I've had but that could be attributed to the slight oat milk flavor. Not sure if my wavering on the flavor coupled with the small cup size and high price could justify frequent trips here. They have a cute shorefront with lights and flowers with some space to wait inside and a shed to enjoy outside. I went after 7 on a Thursday and it was still pretty popular so don't be discouraged by waiting. The actual touchscreen process with the phone number and name inputting might take longer than the actual drink takes.

Cute concept with the mason jars. We got the brown sugar milk tea and the rose milk tea. I didn't really taste the rose in my drink so I was a bit disappointed, but the brown sugar was good. It was self service so you order on a kiosk and pick up your drink when they call you. Pretty easy to navigate the whole menu on the kiosk and it was easy to customize your drink!

This is by far my favorite boba shop in NYC. I may be biased because I have shared so many good memories here, but objectively, the tea is really good. If you prefer fruit teas over milk teas, look no further. I've tried almost all of the fruit teas, and I love the seasonal flavors that change throughout the year. As for milk teas and specialty drinks, I LOVE the Coco Mango and Taro Bobo. By far the best taro milk tea I've had, and the coco Mango is simply delicious. The shop is very small, so there isn't much seating indoors and is otherwise a to-go kind of shop. The drinks also aren't cheap, but they are certainly worth it. You are missing out if you don't stop by!!

Debutea, a Taiwanese tea shop in Greenwich Village. Serving fruit-flavored iced teas, cheese teas, and brewed coffee. Debutea insist on using high quality tea that is brewed and flavored with fresh fruits. Some of which are very unique. They also have a menu of poke bowls and poke burritos. Fun Fact: One of their most popular flavored iced teas is the pinkglow pineapple tea. Did you even know that a pink pineapple exist? My (in)famous friend Rose is a regular at the Brooklyn Debutea location, so when I was in New York for the day, we made a visit to this location. You can order with a person or order at one of the two machines and they'll call out your order. I got a regular golden Phoenix with less sugar and regular ice, and found the cheese foam to be a bit watery. I did like the taste of the tea however, as it was refreshing. However, when our other friend ordered her watermelon drink, it took 20 minutes for her order to come out (there weren't any other people waiting for their orders). That drink came with a matcha foam, watermelon slush, and panna cotta bottom. I thought the combination of flavors would be weird, but they did blend well. There's a few outdoor tables where you could sit to enjoy your drinks. Takeout/delivery is also available. No public restrooms. Credit cards accepted.

Everytime I visit lower Manhattan, I'll always go out of my way to visit Debutea. What I like about Debutea is - there are two kiosks allow people to place their order. So the line move pretty fast. The wait time can vary, but there are a few indoor and outdoor seatings available. My typical order is Jasmine Green Tea with extra cheese foam. I have tried cheese foam at multiple boba stores but none of them seem to be as good as the ones at Debutea. I decide to give their fruity drink a try this time. I ordered Le Guava - which is a jasmine green tea based drink with crystal bubbles, blended with red guava and white grapes. It was amazing - Debutea uses real fruit rather than syrups, so the drink tastes very fruity rather than artificial. The drink is also not overly sweet. If you ever find yourself near Washington Square Park, definitely give Debutea a try :)

Cute little boba tea shop - loved the vibe and design of the place but there is no seating (besides a small window sill that can probably seat 2). My girlfriend and I ordered the MuGuaGanLu ($7.50) and Le Giava ($8.50). The MuGuaGanLu tasted fresh but could use more sweetness (we got less sugar which was a mistake). The Le Guava was also really fresh and tasted amazing (also got less sugar which is ok but I think regular sugar would've tasted even better). Overall, I would rate this place a solid 8/10 - would come back again to try the other flavors.

Absolutely one of my top boba places to visit in nyc!! Love their fruity drinks. I like the peach bobo and strawberry bobo a lot. Definitely recommend these drinks!! We have tried chestnut nut and coco mango too, but they are not as impressive. The bobo is different from boba and it's so tasty and chewy! It goes very well with the fruity slushie. It has a cute outdoor area as well.

High quality bubble tea! The best quality around. Fresh fruit! Real taro! No powders! No overload of sugar! Anything we tried was delicious. Friendly service too. Only hope this place was as big as the one in Brooklyn.

This is probably one of my favorite boba spots in nyc! It's right by Washington square park, and has the cutest interiors. I really liked that you don't need to talk to anyone when you go in LOL there's 2 kiosks right when you walk into the store which you can go through their entire menu and order directly through the machine. I also liked that most items on the menu had pictures so it really helps you to know what you're getting! I got the strawberry bobo, which is my fav! I love their bobo drinks because I'm a huge fan of crystal boba! It's different from normal boba because it's clear, and has more texture chew rather than the mochi chew if that makes sense?? In the summer that have lychee and peach bobo which is absolute favorite !! Of course I had to add cheese foam on top, highly recommend if you love cheese hehe! If you're looking for a great boba place, debutea is the place to be!

I was in the area today and decided to try this place out today. The results were mixed. Service: You are supposed to order from the Kiosk. However, I found it to be incredibly annoying and frustrating and took a long time (I was pretty much the only one there at the time) The kiosk kept freezing up and the interface was confusing as heck, there were way too many options. You also couldn't control how much Sugar. What should have been a quick simple "I'll have one bubble milk tea" turned into 6 mins of trying to find on the kiosk where it was and trying to get the kiosk to respond while it froze up. Even then, it turned out the bubbles were separate and ordered the wrong thing. Aggravating as heck and I work in IT :| I ordered it, they gave it. Then I decided to get the chestnut nut drink. This time I was able to order from the staff directly. It was quick, easy and they were super friendly and helpful. Very good service on that front. Drinks: Bubble Milk Tea: VERY good, good strong tea flavor, tasted high quality ingredients. Sweet but not too sweet. Good boba. Chestnut Nut: It was interesting, I didn't really taste any Coconut whatsoever. I did taste the chestnut though. The bubbles tasted really fresh and good chew to it. It was a really good drink Brown Sugar Boba Milk: This just like the other 2 drinks tasted high quality and was really tasty. Overall: I'll be back if in the area, but will try to order from the staff directly. The kiosk detracted from what was an otherwise really good place.

$8.15 for a tiny drink that tastes bad? No thank you. I won't be returning. Got the peach bobo and it was just BAD. weird uncrushed chunks of fruit in the drink. Tasted more like a slushy than tea. The boba tasted like plastic, very odd fake texture. Quite possibly the worst drink I've had all summer!

I was shocked how delicious this place is. The lychee tea has green tea in it and it's so high quality. Sooooo refreshing especially in summertime. Boba also is warm and amazing quality. So fresh. I'm obsessed with this place!!!!! I just wish the lychee drink wasn't $8 or I'd go back a lot more often.

I'm calling it here folks. I think I found my new favorite bubble tea spot. Coming here on the whim, my friend and I were in need of fruit drinks on a hot summer day. Attracted by the nicely named drinks that had a unique mix of fruit concotions, we ventured here right away. Debutea featured a beautiful outdoor seating along with some indoor plush couches as well. Ordering was contactless through a kiosk. I ordered the Coco Mango ($7.75) and my friend had the Signature Fruit Tea ($6.95). I love that they used lactose-free milk! The Coco Mango was literally a dessert in a drink and the Signature Fruit Tea, a meal in a drink. The Coco Mango was so refreshingly sweet and tart. Not only did it have ripe mango pieces, but it also had creamy coconut pudding pieces, AND crystal pearls. It's a party in there, I'm telling you. I never had such a creation before, but I enjoyed every sip of it. My friend also savored every fruit piece in hers with the convenient fork attached to it. I am ready to explore more of their menu options, as so many names and flavors were shouting my name. I can't wait to come back!

My favorite bubble tea shop I tried during my stay at New York. I decided to try something new and got a cherry blossom oolong milk tea instead of a classic milk tea. The cherry blossom oolong milk tea was excellent: A light refreshing flavor that wasn't too sweet, and a reasonable amount of tapioca. My drink was pricier than any other bubble tea I've ordered from New York, and the wait was longer than usual, but it was worth it. The interior is small. There are only two small tables inside. But Debutea has multiple covered tables outside.

Ordered the phoenix golden cream cheese tea and no tea detected. The drink itself tasted like just all... milk. All I could taste was the cheese foam. Wish the tea was more fragrant.

[NYC BOBA TOUR STOP #1] Debutea prides itself on using fresh fruits, teas, and ingredients (no powder)... and it shows. From the real taro to the house-made coconut jelly to the fresh fruits in their fruit tea, all of the drinks had a certain high-end taste and look to them. I found that even though most of us found our drinks to be on the mediocre side, none of them were actually, truly, bad, and none of them tasted artificial. Their taro drink was made with fresh taro! It was really good and thick and not too sweet. The taro was a little hard to mix though, and I found that I wanted it to mix better so that I could actually have taro-flavored milk, but in the end it worked out. The boba was also pretty good- it wasn't too soft and had flavor in itself. For the other drinks- my cousin thought the bobo milk tea was pretty average, but she loved their grass jelly. The signature fruit tea was good but similar to a lot of other fruit teas my sister has had in the past. My dad loved his coco mango, though! It was super refreshing and the coconut jelly and mango went well together. We'd come back! We definitely want to try their cheese foam next time.

Awesome flavors and cool kiosk where you can order and get notified thru your phone when your order is ready! Contactless payment with the kiosk was great. A bit overpriced, but you do get very fresh fruits and a big serving size (: Flavors are great! No A/C inside, and some indoor seating available but outside seating is more spacious and can be cooler! Very hot inside...

Multiple people have raved to me about Debutea and their high-quality fruit teas, so when I was in the area after lunch one Tuesday, I jumped at the opportunity to stop by. There was no queue when my friend and I arrived, but I think we got lucky since there was a queue for the whole time we were there. There are a few seats indoors and a cute outdoor seating area with plenty of benches and tables where we enjoyed our drinks. Their specialities seem to be the fruit teas - they use only fresh fruits and teas! - so I decided to order the Peach Berry, which was green tea with white peach and strawberry. I was expecting a more typical green tea with fruit chunks, but it was actually more of a slushie with crushed (small) pieces of peaches and strawberries. I was pleasantly surprised, though, since I'm not very keen on most blended drinks, with how much I enjoyed it; the fruit was plentiful and tasty, and overall it wasn't too sweet at all! (n.b. I wasn't able to adjust the ice/sugar amounts, but I'm glad it worked out.) That being said, I'm not convinced that the price was worth it - my drink, which was hardly the most expensive on the menu, came out to over $8, and I don't really feel like the quality of my tea was worth the premium compared to high-end fruit teas at some other stores. I'd be happy to return, though, for an occasional splurge - their drinks are indeed delicious and very, very fresh, and I did quite enjoy my visit today.

Perfect! Walking around NYC can get tiring. Our drink was just perfect to get us through our long walk around the city. You must try the cheese cream! Bobas were cooked to perfection, soft and slightly chewy. The drink wasn't too sweet, and there was just enough caffeine to wake us up and start the day off on the right foot. Also, the drink came in a cute reusable cup. 10/10 would recommend.

TOO GOOD TO GOOD REVIEW: For $4.99+tax, I received two boba tea drinks and a few different pastries. Pick up was quick, Drinks were well packaged. Definitely good value for what you pay.

I like to take long walks in the Spring, Summer and Fall, and I think of this place as my half-way point where I get my refreshing reward. When it is in season, I recommend the Peach Berry (Peach and Strawberry). When sipping this drink you get chunks of the peaches and it tastes and feels delicious. I otherwise will get the Strawberry Sunset along with the fruit boba. They can get a little busy at times, but I don't mind standing outside on the curb since it's such a nice and interesting neighborhood while I wait for my drink to be made. Also, the staff appears to be very diligent and hardworking. For such a busy place I've never noticed any breakdowns in service.

Obsessed. Yes the pricing is up there - $7.50 before tax and too for a small size YangZhiGanLu (GREEN TEA WITH FRESH CRUSHED MANGO AND ORGANIC COCONUT MILK FOAM, GRAPEFRUIT PULP AND SAGO). But this is probably my favorite nonalcoholic drink in the city right now! My friend introduced me to it and I'm sad it took me this long to find out about this place and this drink. Not too sweet, not too big/small, refreshing and fruity yet creamy from the coconut milk. Grapefruit pulp and sago pieces are better than bubbles in bubble tea. Definitely will be back.

Amazing tea selections. I usually am not a big fan of teas because I find them too sweet. However, I got their most popular, coco mango and it was so delicious! It tasted like mango coconut pudding but not super sweet, which is why I loved it!

I got the milky strawberry drink with boba. I could taste the freshness (including the fresh strawberry pieces) but it was a bit too sweet for me. I would come back to try the other drinks though! It's a great environment to catch up with friends.

Got the very pink pineapple drink here and was impressed! Not a usual flavor I see at other places and it definitely did not disappoint!

I need to edit my review. I was disappointed that the unfriendly Korean girl charged me for boba whilst I used my free loyalty card. I find the quality of the product to be fantastic but the attitude these women have is terrible.

The tea was made fresh and had a good self order machine. The organic oat milk was fresh and the ooogola rose tea was refreshing.

It's a cute place. We paid $18 for two bubble teas. So be aware of the bill. I didn't try their signature drinks... so my review will be biased. I got the purple yum bubble tea which is very thick and it doesn't mix w the milk. I tried to shake it and in the end have to mix w straw which didn't turn out good. Their signature drinks r fruit smoothies.

It was my first (and last) time at this location. I ordered a cold Boba Milk Tea (my standard). Unfortunately, it was not good at all. It was still pretty hot when I received it. The ice melted within minutes. The drink tasted watered down and had no flavor. The girls at the counter were unfriendly and unprofessional. She slammed my tea on the counter when it was ready without saying anything and turned her back to continue chatting with her co-worker. Thankfully, I live close to the Brooklyn location, where the tea and service are exponentially better!

Ever since I attended a recent virtual Elite B & G event, I was on a quest to try a Cheese Tea. The topic was all about trends and I am down for trying most anything (not everything). I was meeting my friend for tea today and she suggested Debutea. Teas, particularly Asian, seem to be the latest craze. Think, bubble or Boba which I found out to be the same thing. The space was closed off for indoor entrance but there were 2 windows--place an order or pick up. However, they created a sectioned off sidewalk seating which was cute and more importantly, spacious/empty since most outdoor dining in Soho was packed. My friend ordered a bubble tea, I think brown sugar and I was bent on trying the Cheese tea of which there were several varieties--those made of green tea and some with oolong. There was jasmine and also rose flavoring. I was undecided but ultimately selected the iced Matcha Latte with cheese. A large was $8.25, way too overpriced. Opinion? I felt let down because for that price, it tasted like an ordinary Matcha latte. It was only when I got to the bottom of the beverage that I experienced all the cheese (like cream cheese) that settled there. I didn't know better to mix it. Anyway, it just made me feel nauseated a short while later. I'd probably return here but most likely order something else.

The place is nicely decorated inside and out. You can order through a kiosk or order with them. I chose to come here mainly for the cute bottle that the bubble tea comes in. I see that this tea shop has lots of great reviews but personally I did not think the bubble tea was great. To me it was super watered down and I was extremely disappointed. I will come here again and order something different next time and give it another shot

Absolutely loved this place! I got the Miss Jasmine green tea with cheese foam. I've had cheese foam in the past but this has to be my favorite. Ordering is straightforward- there's a kiosk that you can order straight from and the workers will announce when your drink is ready. When it's especially busy, the line goes out the door. I was a little confused by the menu, since I selected a cheese foam tea but it wasn't clear if I needed to choose to add cheese foam as a topping or if it was already included (note: it's already included :) ). The store itself is quite small but very clean and cute. There's a little bit of seating for a few people and would not fit any big groups, but you can take your drink to Washington Square Park close by.
