Where to Find French Dip Sandwiches in D.C. | Eater DC

"A $20 French dip made with Wagyu beef stands out amid the cheeseburgers and steaks served for lunch at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House. The affiliated Del Frisco’s Grille nearby, which is more affordable, has a steak sandwich — served au jus and with creamy horseradish for $18 — that is essentially a French dip even if it isn’t labeled as one." - Missy Frederick

My husband & I were there with a large group. We didn't wait long, and everything was top-notch! Our server did a great job, and absolutely everything we ate was beyond amazing. I had the wagyu with lobster tail - pricey, but SO worth it. We shared several appetizers and sides. You really couldn't go wrong with anything. The atmosphere was an absolute mood... gorgeous, surprisingly calm, spacious. We never felt rushed or crowded. If it is in a price range that you can manage, GO.

I sat by the bar initially to wait for my huge party of people!😂 The bartender was really nice, he had me try the non-alcoholic “spicy margarita” and it was delicious! The food was super amazing! 💕💯That crab fried rice was mouthwatering!👍🏽👏🏽 There were 14 of us! It did take a while to get our food, but I’m sure if it was a smaller group, the process would have been seamless. The restaurant is located in “city center” and it’s surrounded by these upscale and gorgeous stores: Doir, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc. After dining, we couldn’t help but walk around the area because it was very beautiful! Of course, it was late for shopping, but I’m sure you could do that before 6pm.😊 I would definitely recommend this restaurant and place as well!💯

Great service, good food. Non Alcoholic drinks crushed it. Mushrooms are great, the deal was really good..Fourth Special. There is a dress code, and I would be remiss if the butter cake did not receive a special shout out.

My family took me to this restaurant for a birthday dinner, and it was our first visit. The overall dining experience was delightful, with visually appealing and flavorful dishes served at ideal temperatures and portion sizes. I ordered the Double-Bone Pork Chop, which was expertly seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium. The Potatoes Au Gratin on the side were rich, creamy, and generously cheesy. My daughter enjoyed the Short Rib, while my wife had the Salmon—both dishes were well-prepared and offered balanced, enjoyable flavors. The only drawback was the pacing of service. There were noticeable delays, and our server was absent for extended periods. However, when present, he was professionally engaging and charismatic. I also ordered a Whiskey Bourbon Sour crafted by bartender Josh, which was exceptionally well-balanced. His visit to our table to explain the preparation process added a thoughtful, personal touch to the evening.

Google
Highly recommend this restaurant for celebrating a special moment, like our anniversary or for a fine dining experience. From the meatballs to the steak, everything was wonderful. Our server/bartender Josh was exceptional. He was very attentive to detail and carefully followed allergy instructions, making our experience unforgettable. We will be back, thank you again!

Google
From our waitress Dainelle to the manager Juan the service was so great . From the asparagus to the calamari , chilean Sea bass , the King crab & the sweet potato casserole everything was awesome. We celebrated our 24 anniversary with this wonderful staff . Needless to say we will return

My husband and I had a date night at Del Frisco’s and it was delicious! The food was cooked phenomenally, the atmosphere was great, the drinks were delicious and we even came back (after our later evening event) for dessert - the butter cake is a must! We ordered the oysters, sea bass, lobster mac and cheese, porterhouse steak, broccolini, and asparagus. The asparagus could have used some more seasoning, but it was okay and cooked really well! We definitely plan to go back and try additional items on the menu!

Google
Lovely food and service. Great experience! Our server was knowledgeable (I wish I’d gotten his name) and extremely helpful. I hate cheese but he would make sure that the cheese was separated from each dish on my servings. Excellent and super kind + patient as well. I felt very nervous that I was asking for too much but he was super kind. I really appreciated all of it! Best place to go for a birthday

Yelp
I had the pleasure of eating here and would highly recommend it! The fresh baked bread was an amazing starter. Then I had the scallops with asparagus and the butter cake! There was also a wonderful wine list to pair the meal. If you are looking for a wonderfully cooked steak or a great ambiance to celebrate a special dinner this is the place to go!

Yelp
Food delicious - got a steak to order. Server was attentive and gave helpful recommendations I recommend going during a promotion where they are more affordable. Other than that great for a romantic dinner or special occasion

Yelp
The food here was pretty good. Lobster mac was great. The bread was amazing and honestly the best thing I ate that night. My ribeye without the bone was ok. The creamed spinach needed more flavor and was very watery (this didnt make it into the reorder club). The calamari was on another level with the chili sauce, peanuts and bean sprouts added...mm mm mm! The chocolate martini was very delicious but be careful what you drink it with if you have a sensitive stomach. We valeted and you will surely want to because it is the closest and quickest parking option on the street. The staff from Valet to doorman to the hostess, servers, backservers, etc were all amazing! The vibe in the restaurant is classy and sexy. Beautiful layout with an elevator to the second floor.

Yelp
Del Frisco's in Washington, D.C. is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked through the door, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and warmth. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its impeccable service. The staff here are not just attentive; they are genuinely passionate about ensuring every diner has an unforgettable experience. The attention to detail is remarkable. Every plate served is a masterpiece, carefully crafted with precision and a commitment to quality. Whether it's a succulent steak cooked to perfection or a delicate seafood dish, each bite is a testament to the culinary expertise that Del Frisco's proudly boasts. But it's not just about what's on the plate; it's the entire experience. The servers anticipate your needs without being intrusive, making you feel like a cherished guest. They are knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, ready to offer recommendations that elevate your dining experience. On two different occasions my dining experience was elevated. Thanks to the amazing staff - especially some of the management team that greatly improved my dining experiences - I am very grateful that i had the wonderful privilege of working two of their finest managers, Mac & Andy In a city known for its dining options, Del Frisco's in Washington, D.C. stands as a shining example of what a world-class restaurant should be. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a memorable meal, Del Frisco's is the place to go. This is more than a restaurant; it's a destination for those who appreciate stellar service, meticulous attention to detail, and the finest quality of food.

Yelp
We had a great experience. Our server was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and wine choices. We had a great bottle of wine, split a salad appetizer, the tomahawk and some sides. I wish we would have tried the chef creations on that night. The menu options are always available so if you go, try the chef specials. Yes this place is pricey but it's worth it if you get the right dish. The atmosphere was nice aside for some people at the bar with kids who were sprinting for distance around the bar. I understand though lol.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance, delicious food! The service was okay. Let's get back to the food part though!!! We went during restaurant week and ordered the Wagyu meatballs, filet mignon, and the butter cake for dessert. The whole meal was magnificent. From the filet being perfectly cooked to the wagyu meatballs being amazingly flavored. The ambiance was tasteful, right in the middle of city center! Check them out, and let me know what you think of this fabulous spot!

Yelp
Nice place. Great ambience and diverse menu Our bartender was great. Fast service. Food was great. Lobster Mac and cheese. Very delicious. But. You may want to ask them to bake it a little longer. My salad was great wedge was fresh. Simple and delicious. Mushrooms very good. Crab cake amazing. Not diluted with filler. Dynamite shrimp. Very juicy and fresh We did not a lot of good. But everything we got was very good. I ll try more stuff next time.

Yelp
Once more. This is the last time. This steak house should not be able to make steak anymore. I understand people like varying degrees of temperatures. I ordered Medium and I get Rare with a cold (not cool COLD) temperature. Disgusted at the prices for good cuts of meat cooked poorly.

Yelp
I had an amazing time at Del Frisco's. This was my first time coming to the steakhouse and I am a big steak fan. Me and my boyfriend came to celebrate me passing a test. Our server Edwardo had great energy and was very attentive. He made sure that we enjoyed our food and if we needed anything, he was right around the corner for us to ask. We shared the tomahawk steak as long as a loaded, baked potato and cream spinach. The tomahawk grill perfection at a nice medium. The outside had a nice seasoned crust and the inside was juicy and tender. The cream spinach has to be in the top three of cream spinach. it was flavorful they added mushrooms, bacon and sharp cheddar. The butter rolls were light and fluffy with the slight sweetness. The restaurant was beautiful itself. Very classy and elegant with a dark ambience. There was outdoor and indoor seating we chose to sit inside. It was a bit chilly. I love my experience and can't wait to come to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Outstanding!! Delicious bone in ribeye cooked perfectly with wild mushrooms that were Wild. Two Filet Mignons were also just amazing and the mashed potatoes were homemade. We tried 3 desserts the house butter cake, strawberry cheese cake and tiramisu yum yum yum. Atmosphere and service was top shelf. Sue the server was so kind. We arrived somewhat late in the evening and did not feel rushed. We highly recommend.

Yelp
My birthday celebration at the restaurant was fantastic. The ambience was perfect for conversation and city views, not too crowded or loud. Our waiter provided superb service, ensuring we had everything we needed. For an appetizer, we tried the rock shrimp, which had great flavor but could've been larger. The ribeye for my main course was of excellent quality with just the right amount of fat and flavor. The surf and turf was a delightful surprise, featuring three smaller pieces of meat topped with different seafood, all of which were exceptional. The lobster mac & cheese was an absolute must-try, scoring a 12 out of 10. The asparagus, although slightly larger than preferred, was still enjoyable, especially with the lemon butter sauce. As a birthday treat, I indulged in the butter cake with ice cream, which was heavenly. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance were good. Ron was the waiter and was friendly and attentive. He checked on the table frequently and was very familiar with the menu. He was excited to offer the Butter Cake. It seemed to be their signature dessert. Everything was pretty good. However, I ordered the steak medium rare and it came out well done. The scallops and Fried Lobster was the best selections. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. I love eating outside and watching people shop and the kids playing in the Fountain brought me joy.

Yelp
Started off with their Dynamite Shrimp, Crab Cake, and Oyster Casino. For my main only the Ribeye with Gorgonzola Fondue with mushrooms and asparagus. Then I finished with their Butter Cake. The apps were decent, nothing amazing to write home about. The steak on the other hand was great. Tender and juicy and the fondue on top elevated it to a whole different level (a must add on!). The Butter Cake was also very good, but definitely on the sweeter side. The service was great and nice interior. A good steakhouse with great vibes downtown.

Yelp
I realized yesterday I've been incorrectly placing all DC steakhouses in the same relative tier. Del Frisco's filet mignon may be the best I've had in my life *and I don't even generally like filet mignon!* Went there yesterday for lunch. My friend got the salmon, and she really enjoyed it. I got the filet mignon and omg. OMG. The seasoning on it was absolutely perfect and the tenderness was butter in my mouth. Hands-down some of the best steak I've ever had, and likely the best filet mignon I've ever had. I'm not normally a filet mignon guy because while the tenderness and texture is usually great it can come at the expense of flavor but not here. Bravo. I want to bring my mom back because filet mignon is her thing. As I side I got mushrooms and it was an excellent pairing. We were offered brioche (?) bread to start and it had this wonderful glaze and I could have eaten that for dessert. Service, lest I forget, was what you would expect: attentive but not intrusive, and unfailingly polite. I had one little wrinkle and that's that they have a business lunch option and it was not offered to us, just the regular menu, but I mentioned that to the manager and he was very receptive. (To be clear, it was merely constructive feedback; I neither asked, nor received, anything in exchange.) This may now be my favorite steakhouse in DC and I can't wait to bring others here. Maybe if I'm extra hungry I'll give their ribeye a try, or if I happen to get a big payday, that wagyu...

Yelp
I came here for dessert for my birthday and got butter cake and appetizers (mussels and steak tartare). Everything was great. The steak tartare came with homemade chips that were excellent. Next time I would probably opt out of the caramel for the butter cake, but it was still really good. I also got a strawberry margarita that cost $20 and it was not worth the price. Maybe it was my fault for getting a margarita at a steakhouse.

Alfie K.

Yelp
Service was poor and didn't provide enough water or drinks throughout the meal while seemingly many were doing very little.. for being in a prime location the vibe is a bit dead especially compared to fig and olive. Food was mediocre as well compared to other DC places, let alone proper joints.

Yelp
We ordered the 16oz Ribeye with Truffle Butter, Ahi Sesame Tuna, Roasted Broccolini, Chateau Potato, and Wild Roasted Mushrooms. All of the food was very excellent. Our waiter Justin was a pleasure and made good recommendations for drinks and food. Next time I am in DC, I will come back here again.
google avatar

Alishia H.

Yelp
Get the bacon- you won't be disappointed. Filet was slightly overcooked but still had great flavor. The truffle fries were made to perfection. Good eats for an early afternoon lunch.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant for lunch. The filet medallions were cooked just right and flavorful. Their service was also nice.

Yelp
This is an amazing location of Del Frisco's steakhouse. Everything we had was great and I would recommend them all. Note that things are a little pricy so be prepared for that. Also, there is a lunch deal in this location that you can take advantage of for a lunch date without spending too much. We had the crab cake, which was amazing and came with a sauce that really complemented it, but would have loved the portion to be a little bigger. The rib eye steak was sooo nicely made, I had it at medium. And the chef's seafood special had tons of seafood as shown in the picture. Great ambiance and lots of seating space. The staff was also nice and helpful.

Yelp
I went to Del Friscos to celebrate a birthday party with family. The service overall was great. They were very fast and cleared out plate setting for each meal. The salad and appetizer were delicious. Hands down the thick cut bacon was the best thing! For the entree I had the New York Strip, mashed potatoes, and broccolinni. The mashed potatoes were yummy and the steak was delicious although it was undercooked. The night ended with cheesecake, which was pretty tasty. The private room was nice and we enjoyed ourselves. If you are looking for a nice upscale place. This is a nice spot in DC. Just be prepared to pay for Valet or walk from a garage.

Yelp
Great evening at the bar! Food, service and ambiance were great! The bartender Asia provided excellent drinks all night.

Yelp
Ambiance 5/5 Wine 5/5 Calamari 5/5 Meatballs 4/5 have a little spice I absolutely love a great steak and I'm a self proclaimed carnivore expert!!!!! Now my biggest gripe is that I LOVE A RIBEYE STEAK (my fav) and they took it off. WHY???? I want the cap!! Steak was flavorful and cooked medium like I prefer. I had the lobster tail with it. It was descent but small and overcooked 3/5. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Tempted as I am to give a one star rating, I decided that Del Frisco didn't belong in the same category as those. That said, we were looking forward to trying Del Frisco's, especially after learning it had become part of the Landry's restaurant group. However, our visit had a lot of room for improvement out of the gate. We were directed upstairs and waited by the hostess stand for our table to become ready, noticing that there was an abandoned steak entree adjacent to the hostess stand that hardly added to the ambiance and wasn't particularly eye catching or even being kept warm. We were eventually seated and through our server eventually came by numerous times to let us know he'd be with us shortly, shortly was probably closer to 10-15 minutes. In the meantime, we were all but abandoned, not unlike the lone filet. Eventually, someone brought us water and our server did show up as well. No one inquired as to whether we wanted any beverages, offered a tour of the menu or any recommendations, or really tried to sell or upsell anything. The restaurant was also not especially busy as it was late in the evening. There was a restaurant week or similar pre-fixe promotion occurring, and we opted to partake and upgrade some of the dishes. We also ordered items from the regular menu. Our server did confirm the order with us, but alas, the supplemental items never showed up, even after receiving our entrees; perhaps they were left abandoned on a table somewhere. The saving grace was that our food was decent, but nothing to write home about to be honest. The presentation was also lackluster; I've seen steaks with more pizazz at Applebee's. We weren't really checked on much throughout the meal and saw no evidence of any management. All in all, it was a less than optimal experience, which is especially unfortunate given that others seem to have had better dining experiences. I was also bombarded with several e-mail surveys after our visit (e.g., OpenTable, Landry's) which went unanswered, so I am not sure why feedback is even solicited. In short, our experience fell short of expectations and frankly, Landry's standards. There are better and more reliable options both downtown and at CityCenter.

Yelp
Our dinner plans failed so Del Frisco was on my list to try, was nearby and available, so we went for it. They didn't disappoint. The steak shrimp and salmon were seasoned and cooked to perfection; the wine selection was vast; the butter and salt-topped yeast roles, appetizers and desserts were top notch. I didn't have high expectations but I would return for sure. The customer service was great. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions as first timers. My husband didn't care for his first drink and it was quickly swapped out. It can get crowded and a little loud in comparison to other steakhouses but I didn't mind. This is a nice addition to the Landry family (sign up for the Landry membership for birthday coupons at their multiple restaurants).
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
This is the place other steakhouses want to be. Ambiance, selection, quality, service - all of it is first rate. They are very heavy on California wines, but the offerings will satisfy any level of taste. Bring someone special - or close that power deal. This place creates memories.
google avatar

Yelp
Great venue for all occasions: birthdays, family, and even private rooms for business meetings. They have two floors, 1st has a larger bar (most likely for lunch crowd) and some seating. 2nd floor has two large seating areas with good spacing between tables & a smaller bar. Windows all around 1st and 2nd level so there's always a good view of scenery and people-watching. White table cloth (you're at a steakhouse of course) and low lighting - but not too dim where you can't see the menu. We sat upstairs in the back, as it was my birthday and wanted the best seat/privacy. Night before thanksgiving - it was light but not empty. Service was great - everyone was very friendly and helpful. Took pictures for us and comped our dessert when Sue, our amazing server, overheard. Food is BOMB - some of my favorite steaks have been from del Frisco; however, this was my first time here (I'd been in NYC). Usually get the thick cut bacon - perfect combination flavor; sweet & heat/spiciness. Steak: 16oz Bone-in filet with truffle butter, cooked medium. Barely needed the knife to cut thru - very juicy. I recommend asking for coarse salt (thank me later). Plates are heated so that's always a plus at quality restaurants. Amazing selection of food and wine - something for everyone People dislike or hate on chain-restaurants, but I think the good-quality ones (Nobu, del, Mastro's, etc) get it right. You know what type of food and service you'll receive. Definitely recommend if you're thinking about it.

Yelp
Took a group here for a private dinner. Food was wonderful and service was even better! Ian and Katrina were welcoming and axxomdating even when an entire table moved after ordering!! If you have a chance come by!
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
This restaurant is my go to; however, the restaurants failure to enforce the dress code or even have one is a huge issue. You can tell the difference between class and I just made some quick money to splurge and I'm showing off for social media. My recommendation to the restaurant is not to allow your ratings to drop for quick money. No one should be allowed to walk in the restaurant half naked, white T, jeans, or gym shoes. It does not matter if you are sitting at the bar. Besides that that, the food is good. I will most definitely continue to frequent the establishment.
google avatar

Kamali F.

Yelp
I was quite disappointed in my experience here last night. I was there for a friend's birthday dinner with a party of 7 and then two more joined about an hour or so later. Jack was our server and he had another gentleman that was helping to buss the table. The customer service was sub par. Items we asked for were forgotten and there were long periods of time before our table was touched while we were waiting for drinks, requests, the check. The food was completely disappointing. Everything was bland. Two of our entrees were sent back because the chicken dish wasn't cooked through and the lamb chops that were ordered medium well, came out medium rare. I ordered the salmon and it didn't taste like anything really. The presentation made it look like the food was just thrown on the plate. The lobster bisque was very salty. We were seated at a large round table in the front of the restaurant. There were a lot of rowdy folks at the bar that were yelling, cursing loudly and the bar tenders were also involved. There were several times inappropriate things were said very loudly. Eventually the man tending to the door came over and said something to them about the noise. Overall, the food wasn't good, especially for the price, the customer service was unsatisfactory and the environment wasn't even enjoyable.
google avatar

Cassandra S.

Yelp
Unfortunately second time was not the charm. Enjoyed the first time so much that we decided to come again, and the steaks all came out unevenly. At the end of the meal while we were waiting for the valet someone came in off the street and started harassing a person in my dining party for money and it took far too long for someone to send security our way. After it was resolved we got one "sorry" from a waiter who had witnessed the ordeal but nothing from management. Needless to say I will not be coming back again. I would give it one star but the butter cake is their saving grace.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic food let down by inconsistent service. First I want to make it clear our waiter and other servers could not have been nicer. However, the staff seemed "discombobulated" for lack of a better term during our evening there. We started with martinis which came out totally wrong. I think another table may have been served our drinks. When they did arrive, they were great. Our waiter seemed more attentive to a neighboring table than ours (table of 4) We had to ask for the bread plate, even though other tables which sat after ours received it promptly. Although our water glasses were kept full, plates were not cleared without mentioning. I also had to remind our waiter of my baked potato when the main courses arrived. Now for the good part...the food. The other couple with us ordered the steak tartar which they enjoyed and we shared a crab cake which honestly was one of the best we ever had. (We lived in DC for a few years so we did enjoy local seafood.) The other 3 persons in our party thought their main dishes were great. We ordered two filet with scallops, and one bone in prime rib, I had the non-bone prime rib. Our party enjoyed their orders and I thought my prime rib was one of the best I've had in a long time. I ordinarily don't make an issue with service, but when you drop multiple bills for dinner, you expect exemplary service. Unfortunately we can't recommend the Double Eagle...not at price vs. service.

Yelp
Such the perfect relaxing evening with wonderful service from Ebboni and TK at the Bar of @del.friscos at @citycenterdc The food is of course always wonderful, but the service puts it above the rest and TK and Ebboni make you feel at home and taken care of is the best way! Thank you ladies

Yelp
Wow. This place is bad. Just, bad. Poor quality, poor flavor, all hype but no substance. It's a special level of mediocrity, and I'm ashamed and embarrassed that I gave them my money. Never again.

Yelp
Del Frisco's was stop 3 for my night and I didn't imagine I'd be able to drink anymore or have room for food. Well, they proved me wrong. Our table started with several appetizers, but I was only able to partake in the seafood tower. It was beautiful and filled with crab, lobsters, shrimp and oysters. The only negative was probably the amount of cocktail sauce. Apparently men really love cocktail sauce. The table loved the meatballs. For dinner, I opted for the roasted chicken. I'd had steak the last 2 nights and needed a break. I wasn't disappointed. The portion was huge and flavorful! I loved that the menu was labeled for gluten free leaving the guessing out. After dinner, we had various desserts for the table. Although I couldn't eat them, they looked fantastic. We also had the VIP drink. Don't get caught up with the pineapple flavor because it was packed with alcohol! The restaurant is located in a perfect area with a nice view of the city. Service was great, especially given the size of our group. If I'm back for a personal trip, I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I don't know why it took me so long. Service started off slow but the food was worth it. Let me back up by first saying there was a dress code and I was super casual with a dad cap while my bf had on a hoodie and we sat at the bar. There was only one bartender and it took her a while to take our orders but once she didddddddd. Them egg rolls the reason I'm writing this review. They are good. I had the Business lunch special which gives you a salad and entree from a special menu. I had the Caesar salad and the beef medallions with mash potatoes. Them medallions?!!! Like butta in ya mouth and a nice cute stronggg French 75 to wash it down. I'll be coming back here cuz I only did a cute lunch. I have to check out dinner and hopefully the service is a bit faster.

Yelp
Went to Del Frisco for Washington's DC Restaurant Week. The restaurant is located in the upscale area of City Center. I was able to make reservations on the website or via open table. The staff was very friendly. I decided to have the dynamite shrimp (which as an Asian flare, fried shrimp over lettuce. It reminds of bang bang shrimp). My friends had the lobster bisque, classic Caesar salad , and the meatballs. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers. For entrees most of us selected the roasted chicken, and it was very flavorful! The steak was also cooked to perfection! We ordered the lobster Mac n cheese as a side to share and it was a very big portion. The butter cake was the highlight dessert and it did not disappoint!! Thanks to the waiter for the recommendation. Overall I had a great experience at Del Frisco and I will be back!! I will be adding this one to my Landry's Club Location!

Yelp
We really love the San Diego, CA location and decided to try this one out while I was in the area for work. It was such a disappointment. Everyone looked miserable. We were seated right away as we had made reservations in advance. we ended up being passed to several different staff members and it took a while to get our order in, we managed to get our cocktails right away, that was about it. I get that it was starting to get busy but that's not an excuse, treat the customer as though they mean something to you. Finally, the fourth person to come by actually stayed as our waiter. The food was okay, I had the roasted chicken and it was a bit dry. I didn't eat it. We really wanted the epic butter cake but decided to end our visit early. Maybe it was the look on everyone's face or just the fact that we kept getting passed around between servers but this was a poor experience and I feel that when the staff really look as though they're having fun, it spills over to the customer, creating a memorable experience, even if the food was just okay, the atmosphere & the way people make you feel are what make you give a restaurant a second chance. I also plan a lot of company board retreats, this is a place I'll pass on when asked to book our board dinners.

Yelp
We tried to book online for Saturday at 7 but OpenTable said there was no reservations between 6 and 9:45. We were able to snag at 6:45 after refreshing a few times. When we showed up, the bottom floor was completely empty and there were 4 other tables upstairs. It was dead. Weird it had nothing online though? Quality and service has notably diminished. One of the plates on the table had green stuff stuck to the top of it. Our server was really casual and informal, which you don't expect at this price point. They didn't walk us through any specials and he didn't know the market price on the dry aged steaks. We ordered two appetizers, a salad, a steak, a fish, and two sides. The server forgot our salad course and brought one of the wrong side dishes. He didn't even notice he forgot the salad or brought the wrong sides, and when we altered him his response was "that's probably my bad." Overall the food was okay and warm, but didn't meet our usual expectations for Del Friscos. When we got the bill, the wrong side was still on it. Two managers came and asked if "everything was okay" after we got our steaks. Yeah, it was "okay", but it wasn't good and will be the last time I go to Del Friscos. It's not the same experience it used to be, and with so many better options, I'll try a non-landry's property in the future.

Yelp
I'd like to think that Del Frisco's is always going to be top notch from the ambiance and decor, to the food quality and service; at least all the parts they can control. Eagle Park especially. You pay for what you get. That's been my experience. Our server was upbeat, smiling, patient and happy to take our photos. She remained consistent from beginning to end. Other staff chipped in as well. Every entree was served warm, fresh and tasty; and every bite of food the same. To start we had Heirloom tomatoes & burrata with balsamic reduction & pesto drizzled. The pan seared salmon was cooked very well and went nicely with our variety of shared sides including: Mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese (no lobster), creamed corn, creamed spinach and potatoes Au gratin. And how could I forget the soft buttery rolls?! I'm a bread lover and those were nothing short of incredible. The creamed corn definitely had some spice from the peppers but I loved it. Every devoured carb was carblicious. All the food & drinks were magnificent from start to finish. Everyone enjoyed. The butter cream cake dessert served with ice cream and whipped cream is EVERYTHING. We were celebrating our girlfriend's birthday so they brought it out with a birthday candle. I planned on just having a tiny taste. That plan changed quick once I got a bite!! Don't sleep on that dessert! Enough to share.

Yelp
The Del Frisco in Washington, DC is my go to steakhouse for a superior dinning experience. The steak is cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth experience. The butter cake ... OMG .. was magnificent. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Am I crazy or is this BEYOND overrated? My group arrived for 12 PM reservations and it took ONE HOUR AND 50 MINUTES to receive our entrees. Everything was mediocre at best. Greasy salmon, overcooked fillet medallions, greasy greasy greasy everything. The three people who got soups got the soups pretty quickly. Lobster bisque is pretty delicious. Half an hour later the 4 people who got salads, got salads. Then we waited....and waited....and waited....we watched 5 other groups come in and get their food, eat and depart before we had entrees. I would never waste another $ at this cheesy steak house ever again. The prices are on point with really nice DC restauants, but unthinkable to spend here. We appreciated the apologetic and friendly server, but that is not enough to save this review from 2 stars.

Yelp
What a major disappointment! The experience we had at the one in New York was so great we thought we would celebrate a birthday at the DC location. First of all the place opened at 3 and our reservation was at 3. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, yet our service for everything was extremely slow. I asked for medium well ribeye with bone in and the 1st time it was well done and rare depending on where you cut it. The second time it was rare and I no longer wanted it. They comped it and gave it to me the third time correctly. My daughter requested medium rare on her steak and lobster order. Two of the tenderloins were well done and the third was correct. The potatoes au gratin were TERRIBLE! I have never tasted something so poorly cooked. Don't waste your money. For 6 people it was the worse $800 experience I ever had! What a major disappointment!

Yelp
I frequent Del Friscos and this time they were particularly crowded during lunch. That did not infringe on the quality and timing of my food!!! Anytime I'm at the City Center and need a bite, this is where I'm going!!!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to celebrate our one year anniversary and my husbands birthday at Del Friscos in Washington DC. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated by the hostesses. Our waiter immediately greeted us and started engaging in conversation with us. We asked for water, and he went to get it ( so we thought) after waiting 15 minutes for the water, another waiter came over to take our order. We asked what happened to our original waiter and he said "I'm helping my brother out he had to take care of something" it seemed very strange to my husband and I. We ordered and waited. Our drinks came out first, and it wasn't the best, but I dealt with it. 20 mins later my husband's meal came out and two of the three sides we ordered. I waited patiently for my food before noticing another 10 minutes had passed. A few other waiters walked by and we finally got someone's attention. My husband quickly asked for a manager, and the waiter who wasn't helping us said " can I help with something" as explained the terrible service we received and he said "I don't know what's wrong with these guys". We then saw the waiter who original helping us going back and forth with a few staff members. Being loud and aggressive. At that point we were over it and ready to leave. He called the manager on the phone, and the manager came down. He introduced himself as "Andy" we explained the situation and he quickly apologized. He offered to wrap our food to go. My husband said "no my wife didn't even receive her food" Andy wrote his number on a receipt paper and handed it to us as he apologized. This is the WORST experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We came to celebrate two milestones and left disappointed and upset. We stood out and found another restaurant "The Hamilton" which didn't disappoint service & food were AMAZING. I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this location. It's not worth it. The original waiter never came back and the waiter who took our order never came back. The staff lacks training and great customer service skills. Hopefully this location gets a change of staff and management. Sincerely the customer who's anniversary and husband's birthday was ruined.

Yelp
The manager was disrespectful, dismissive, and rude . There were large and small flies at the table. We had to cover our food and decide against staying to dine. The management team didn't seem to care. The hostess at the entrance level is security.

Yelp
The food and environment was great! Ebbonni made sure I had a great experience. She recommended great entrees and definitely hooked me up with drinks.

Yelp
Service is always amazing when I visit this restaurant. I'm a huge fan of sitting at the bar. When doing so, TK and Jason have been my servers/bartenders and always are super attentive. Whether it's a meal suggestion or making a custom cocktail, you'll truly enjoy that aspect. Lastly, they remember what you're drinking or had in the past. So attention to detail goes the extra mile with me. Definitely a pleasure having them as bartenders and of course always get the crab cakes!

Yelp
Bartender 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 4/5 Had such a great experience at Del Frisco's and discovered a new favorite drink at the same time! I was lucky enough to have the bartender's speciality and try Earl Grey bitters for the first time. I enjoyed my time at the bar just as much as my time upstairs dining. All of the food was delicious with one exception - I wasn't crazy about the shrimp appetizer. Other than that it was all great from the wedge salad to the filet to the butter cake. Will absolutely put this in my rotation.
