Yelp
Tempted as I am to give a one star rating, I decided that Del Frisco didn't belong in the same category as those.
That said, we were looking forward to trying Del Frisco's, especially after learning it had become part of the Landry's restaurant group. However, our visit had a lot of room for improvement out of the gate. We were directed upstairs and waited by the hostess stand for our table to become ready, noticing that there was an abandoned steak entree adjacent to the hostess stand that hardly added to the ambiance and wasn't particularly eye catching or even being kept warm.
We were eventually seated and through our server eventually came by numerous times to let us know he'd be with us shortly, shortly was probably closer to 10-15 minutes. In the meantime, we were all but abandoned, not unlike the lone filet. Eventually, someone brought us water and our server did show up as well. No one inquired as to whether we wanted any beverages, offered a tour of the menu or any recommendations, or really tried to sell or upsell anything.
The restaurant was also not especially busy as it was late in the evening. There was a restaurant week or similar pre-fixe promotion occurring, and we opted to partake and upgrade some of the dishes. We also ordered items from the regular menu. Our server did confirm the order with us, but alas, the supplemental items never showed up, even after receiving our entrees; perhaps they were left abandoned on a table somewhere.
The saving grace was that our food was decent, but nothing to write home about to be honest. The presentation was also lackluster; I've seen steaks with more pizazz at Applebee's. We weren't really checked on much throughout the meal and saw no evidence of any management.
All in all, it was a less than optimal experience, which is especially unfortunate given that others seem to have had better dining experiences. I was also bombarded with several e-mail surveys after our visit (e.g., OpenTable, Landry's) which went unanswered, so I am not sure why feedback is even solicited. In short, our experience fell short of expectations and frankly, Landry's standards. There are better and more reliable options both downtown and at CityCenter.
