Chicago Restaurant and Bar Openings to Know, December 2025 | Eater Chicago

"Italian steakhouse is now open in the former Etta space. Led by chef Jake Peterson, it offers a selection of Midwest and Australian wagyu steaks, fresh pastas, and chilled seafood, plus reimagined cocktails like an espresso martini with cannoli-infused vodka. The experience blends upscale dining with approachability — a warm and intimate dining room anchors the first floor while a livelier upstairs has TVs for sports and late-night service." - Jeffy Mai

Dēliz Italian Steakhouse - Review - Bucktown - Chicago - The Infatuation

"In addition to theFrenchandLatinsteakhouses that have popped up in Chicago recently, there’s a new Italian-inspired spot in Bucktown. Dēliz specializes in wood-fired cooked meat, rounded out by starters like oysters with tomato butter and octopus with nduja sugo, along with pastas tagliardi bolognese and saffron casarecce." - John Ringor

Italian Steakhouse Dēliz Is Coming to Bucktown in the Old Etta Space | Eater Chicago

"A polished-yet-approachable neighborhood Italian steakhouse opening in December in the former Etta space at 1840 W. North Avenue, this two-level spot balances elegance with comfort through hospitality so “everyone feels like they’re part of one social dining experience.” Downstairs offers a classic, intimate room with warm lighting and soft accents suited to date nights and celebrations, anchored by a dramatic staircase predicted to become one of the city’s most photographed; upstairs the energy ramps up with TVs showing sports, lively music, and late-night service stretching into the early hours on weekends—“a place where people can come to start their nights, to end their nights.” Chef Jake Peterson’s menu blends classic steakhouse fare with Italian influences: premium Midwest steaks and full-blooded Australian wagyu cooked on custom Argentinian-style grills; housemade pastas with seasonal stuffed creations and gluten-free options; charred Spanish octopus with ’nduja sugo and smoked potato; and a seafood tower of oysters, shrimp, lobster, and crab that arrives theatrically in a swirl of dry-ice fog, with luxuries like truffle in the mix. Desserts, consulted on by Jessica Scott, include a Basque cheesecake layered with pistachio mousse and chocolate mirror glaze and a playfully presented tiramisu topped with chocolate “pearls” resembling caviar over espresso-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and a salted rum caramel swirl. Drinks lean inventive and Italian: a cannoli-infused espresso martini, a citrusy cosmopolitan with Italian bergamot and Cedro lemon, and an Old Fashioned with fig-infused black walnut liqueur and caramelized honey syrup, supported by a wine list spotlighting Italian and New World producers with select reserve bottles housed in a dedicated cellar." - Jeffy Mai

Google
My new favorite restaurant in Chicago. We ordered about half the menu and absolutely everything was fantastic. The service may have been even better than the food. We had multiple people check on us and never once had an empty glass. A special shout out to the GM, Matt, who was so friendly and stopped to chat with us and make sure we were all taken care of. Not a single complaint about this place. We will be back soon with a crew of friends to enjoy with us.

Deliz is a wonderful new addition to Bucktown. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service is attentive and friendly, and the food is truly outstanding. The manager was extremely knowledgeable about wines and offered excellent recommendations that paired perfectly with the menu. The pastas were absolutely delicious, and the desserts were just as impressive. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would highly recommend Deliz to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming vibe in the neighborhood.

Welcome to the neighborhood Deliz! Was able to snag a last minute reservation on day 2 of opening and decided to sit at the bar for a party of 2. Everyone there was attentive and was hospitable. Matty at the bar really made us feel welcomed. He was knowledgeable in the menu and had great recommendations. We went for light bites but can’t wait to try everything on the menu! Also a quick shout out to the GM Matt. He checked in and made sure we were happy. 10/10 on service and hospitality. Thank you Deliz! It was delicious ;)

Google
We were able to get last minute reservations and grabbed seats at the bar for some drinks and light bites, and we’re already looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu. From the atmosphere and music to the food and service, everything was amazing. Huge thanks to Matt for taking great care of us with hospitality and service. Can’t wait to go back!

Google
We had a phenomenal time at Deliz Italian Steakhouse. The atmosphere is romantic and thoughtfully designed. The steak treats were great, the tuna tartare and gnocchi really stood out, and the tiramisu served with dry ice was a fun surprise. My husband loved his old-fashioned. Would absolutely recommend!!!!!!

Google
Went there for the opening night and Deliz absolutely knocked it out of the park. It’s very clear how much personal care and attention has been put into this restaurant. The owner and staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere and details of the space were very well thought out. The steaks were top tier, better than Tre Dita, STK, and Bazaar Meat to name a few. The saffron crab pasta was loaded with crab and was a great change of pace with the steak. The most surprising and impressive part of the meal was the dessert, tiramisu served as caviar, where the awesome showmanship was actually met with equally awesome taste. I highly recommend checking out Deliz!

Yelp
My family and I were sad when the previous restaurant in this location had closed down, but pretty quickly it's not been replaced from what will likely be one of the hottest restaurants in the Wicker Park area. It has a very cool vibe when you walk in, with great music, relaxing vibes, and an open view of the kitchen, which makes things much more inviting and wholesome. Every step of the meal is phenomenal, starting with their signature drink, which was delicious, and ending with their remarkably potent and delicious tiramisu Tower. The creativity and concentration of flavors is off the charts. Not like that, but the service was incredibly wholesome, and the manager and the owner were even there who reached out directly to make sure we had a wonderful time. We look forward to returning with my extended family at the end of the month, and individually with my wife and two kids Many more times beyond that.

Yelp
Hey! This used to be Etta! Remember that. This is by Restaurateur Steve Gogolab who started STK restaurants. I had the Citrusy Cosmopolitan with Italian bergamot and Cedro lemon. The staff and service are delicious.
