"Devil’s Den is known for its annual fireplace lighting party at the beginning of each December. Inside the craft beer bar, the fireplace is double-sided and wood-burning." - Sarah Maiellano

"There are a lot of bars and restaurants with fireplaces in Philly, but Devil’s Den, a beer bar in East Passyunk with some pretty good bar food, has a double-sided fireplace. This means that no matter where you choose to hang your snow-covered jacket and Lenny Kravitz-sized scarf, you’ll thaw pretty quickly." - Sydney Mcelwee

"There are a lot of places with fireplaces in Philly, but Devil’s Den, a beer bar in East Passyunk with some good bar food, has a double-sided fireplace that’s lit all winter long - meaning that no matter where you’re sitting, you’ll always have a view and some warmth. They also do a fire lighting ceremony at the beginning of each winter, and even when the summer hits and their fireplace is shut down, they still have $4 drafts that are well worth the visit." - Sydney McElwee

Great little spot! The buffalo chicken sandwich was so good. Fries are perfect. Portions are pretty big. Drink menu has large variety. Definitely will be returning!

So far I've eaten lunch and brunch here and everything I had was delicious. Didn't have any cocktails but they looked good. The hot dog bites, pulled pork sandwich and french toast were excellent. I also tried some of my mom's scrambled eggs and they are the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. I don't know how they make them but they are a must-order for brunch. It has a typical bar atmosphere with ample outdoor seating. The wait staff was good but they seemed a little bored. Both days I was there were not very busy. Go for the great food - it's worth the trip.

The food was great and creme brulee was amazing! They had an very smooth pumpkin in Halloween and my while group loved it. 10/10 would rub that pumpkin again!

Duck fries to die for! Outstanding food and service, tasty craft beers with decent Happy Hour discounts!

Top-notch selection that includes bottles. The fireplace is wonderful. I have only had a pretzel bun and hummus with pita chips from the food menu, and was not disappointed. The service has always been acceptable for how busy (or not) the place has been. There's been several times I walked in and out because it was crowded, but I won't hold that against the bar itself. My recommendation is just to go during slower times, and if you're also a service industry employee you can get a discount most days of the week.

I would give the food 3.5 stars. It was decent. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich, which is kinda hard to mess up. They did have very good fries. Some of the best I have had in a while. My wife had the Salmon BLT, which was good. A friend raves about the muscles in the curry sauce, which were good as well. Service tonight was not the best. Our waiter checked in on us only a few times, even though the restaurant was not super busy. We had what we needed, but we were not offered refills and had to wait an unusually long time for our check. Service can be pretty hit or miss, so I don't like to base my opinion of a place off of one situation. Overall, I would give it a second go around. It had a pleasant atmosphere, with an extensive beer list. I was not blown away by the food, but I wasn't disappointed either. Expect to pay about $13-15 per plate for dinner. Just as an fyi: They do jot offer a kids menu.

Two words. Duck. Fries. They are as amazing as they sound. Not a Coors light to be found; they serve up some of the best beer in the area. Their Sour Week is always a big hit. Cool atmosphere with artwork featuring the local neighborhood. Great place to hang out at the bar, or for a larger group to grab a meal. Weekend brunch is always a great choice too.

Great spot. Good location, far enough away from the meat head areas but still close enough to go if you're down passayunk. Good bar fare, especially the duck fries. Staff is super cool. Good beer selection.
