Where Shenseea Goes For Caribbean Food, Wings & Peri Peri Chicken

"If I was to bring somebody on a tour of Jamaica, I'll take them to Di Dragon. It's a Chinese spot. As sh*tty as the environment is—it's right by a swamp actually, with alligators that I'm sure are in there, and construction on the other side—you go there and order that food. It's gonna take us almost two hours to receive our food. Don't you ever go to that spot hungry—you will be riled up. You will be disappointed. You will be upset. You will be cursing the servers. You will be cursing the owner. You'll be cursing anybody who you go there with. You're gonna find yourself in some argument just because everybody is hungry, right? But when that food comes, it's immaculate. As sh*tty as the service is, every single time you go there, and as sh*tty as the environment is, you're gonna find yourself back there. I always get the fried rice. They have the mallah chicken, I always get that as well. They have a sweet and sour pork that they fry first and then they boil down some sweet and sour sauce, Jamaican style—so good. Their ginger escallion shrimp, and ginger escallion lobster. They have a lion fish that they fry first that they do with sweet and sour sauce. Nobody cares about the service or the environment; matter of fact, they welcome the environment with open arms. It's no judgments after eating that food, I promise you. It all just washes away.”" - brennan carley

The 29 Essential Restaurants in Kingston, Jamaica

"This is the definition of a hidden gem. Situated way off the beaten path, on the waterways of Portmore, Di Dragon is possibly the island’s best Chinese restaurant. Fans make the trek to indulge in the famed salt-and-pepper lobster, garlic crab, and ginger-scallion pork. Make sure to make a reservation, and if you can, place your order in advance to save yourself the long (warranted) wait." - Leisha Wong

Service takes forever and is basic at best. The fried fish was evidently soaked in salt water, then fried .. gave it an ok flavor but could have added more seasonings. Fried bammy was good, not soaked in oil. Atmosphere was nice and cozy... a nice simple getaway for a minute A little background music and friendlier service and it could rival port royal

The food was good, but despite placing the order from the previous day, we had to wait for an hour and a half to get dinner. They also accept cash as the only means of payment

I had a good evening. We had some difficulty finding the restaurant. Firstly the customer service was poor. Idk if it was just our waitress but she had a whole attitude when we were seeking clarity re the prices. Miscommunication was the cause because we were given a price list and ended up paying way more for the crab and the list states 1500 and we ordered a lb and was served 4lbs. The decor could be spruced up too but I must say the food was delicious. Crisp bammy and Chicken fried rice and Fish was delicious.

Firstly, call in and place your order before hand- the meals are done to order and the wait time is lengthy. Ordered the Ginger Escallion Shrimp, Sweet and Sour Shrimp, Sweet and Sour Pork and Special Fried Rice to go. The Pork was flavorful and a the Main Event for me- the show stopper- it was Sweet and Sour Pork done well- the meat and the sauce was chef’s kiss. The Ginger Escallion shrimp for me was a simple but great taste. The Sweet and Sour Shrimp was simple and the Special Fried rice was good as usual- something to always have with your meal when eating here.

This is a very causal restaurant but it’s so worth it! I’d recommend making a reservation and ordering ahead if possible! We got there after 8 and had to wait over an hour for food. You can call ahead though. For a family of 6 it was a good deal and we will for sure be back!

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Portmore. The food and service were exceptional. The king crab came in after we got our food, so we're definitely coming back for that.

Honestly, one of the biggest disappointments I've ever had in my life. Was so excited to try this place, I called a full hour ahead (at least) to place my order, got to the location and was told the order would be ready in 20mins, though the place was empty. 35 mins later, went to check on the order again and was told it would take another 20 mins. I was given NO APOLOGY for the wait, and then they had the nerve to tell me "it's being prepared and I can take it, or leave it." Of course I left it. Tbh, I'm glad I did and I know this might sound like I'm bashing, but I promise you, this place did not look sanitary. I get that the restaurant is in their yard, bit there is no reason for your diners to be looking at your dirty laundry while eating. The place was a mess. I would never go back here. And wish I could give a 0 rating

The food was so delicious, best Chinese food I ever had . Everything was fresh and well seasoned and flavorful. I recommend this place to everyone. Make you place your order before you reach there because it’s gonna be a long wait. Oh it’s cash only not debit/credit card. But other from that 10/10
