20 Classic Restaurants In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"While it’s not the oldest public farmer’s market in the US or a pointy tower built for the World's Fair, Dick’s Drive-In is just as much a part of Seattle’s history as any of the major local landmarks. For over 70 years, this burger joint with its instantly recognizable retro sign has been feeding foil-wrapped hamburgers to generations of Seattleites—drunk, sober, and everything in between. Dick’s may not be the best burger in the city, but it’s embedded in our DNA nonetheless." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

20 Iconic Dishes That Define Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Opening that grease-stained paper bag to reveal the orange foil of a Dick’s Deluxe is a feeling only those who get it really get. It’s like unwrapping a little piece of Seattle nostalgia. And the Deluxe is hands down the best choice at Dick’s, with that squishy bun, sticky american cheese that mostly ends up on the wrapper, and two beef patties to absorb all that tartar sauce." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

Dick's is easy to love, even if the burgers and fries aren't - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"In the early 1950s, Dick’s Drive-In revolutionized the hamburger meal in Seattle by providing instant service at low prices. 70 years, seven outposts, and a truck later, it’s still true, though it’s technically not a drive-in—you do need to get out of your car to order, even at the original Wallingford location. If you’re a born-and-raised Seattleite, chances are that you adore this beloved institution. And, call it a hunch, nothing anyone says or does will change that fact. But someone has to say it: a burger, fries, and a shake from Dick’s is always a let-down. If you’ve never been before, it’d be wise to lower your expectations of this Seattle landmark. And yet, sometimes, that fluorescent orange glow appears in our peripheral vision, and suddenly we crave their paper-thin meat discs. Especially if we’ve responsibly indulged in a few adult beverages beforehand. That’s the power of the Dick’s Deluxe. The double-decker of lightbulb-warmed yellow american cheese and sweet pickle mayo does wonders to enhance an otherwise-boring burger, and this humble sandwich is a classic that’s intensely relevant to the city’s culture—much like Dick’s itself. Macklemore shot scenes of his “White Walls" music video at the Broadway location. Tomo once had the exterior doodled on their menu cover. Roquette served a cocktail featuring liquor fat-washed with Dick’s melted chocolate milkshakes. Local couples often order trays of burgers for their weddings. And don’t get us started on the “greasy bag" jokes. The company is also inherently good—they pay their employees way above minimum wage, and offer childcare assistance, health insurance, and scholarships. It’s impossible not to appreciate that. Alas, the beef here is unfortunately almost always unseasoned, dry, and tough. When you’re lucky and the hand-cut potatoes were just dropped to fry, welcome to potato-based bliss. But that pretty much never happens, and they usually come out flimsy, inconsistently salted, and saturated with cold sunflower oil that leaves a slick coating on your lips. So no, Dick’s won’t ever be our first choice for locally-born fast food—we’ll give the edge there to Burgermaster (the one on 520) or Pick-Quick. But if we found ourselves strapped in a Subaru that’s already pulled into the parking lot? Yeah, you bet your ass that we won’t say no to a deluxe and fries. Food Rundown photo credit: Nate Watters Dick's Deluxe The beef here trends dry—so then why is The Dick’s Deluxe, a double-stacked burger, the best thing on the menu? The toppings work overtime. The stars of the show here are a sweet tartar sauce that seeps through strands of iceberg lettuce, and yellow american slapped between each patty. It’s simple, but the marriage of relish-spiked mayo and two layers of gooey cheese is thoroughly tasty, and ultimately what saves the burger from being bland. photo credit: Nate Watters Hand-Cut Fries On each visit, we order these fries and chant, “don’t be soggy, don’t be soggy, don’t be soggy,” and they’re soggy. It makes us want to start buying Powerball tickets and chant, “don’t win the lottery, don’t win the lottery, don’t win the lottery.”" - Aimee Rizzo

Dick’s at this location still carries the weight of a Seattle institution—Bill Gates himself has been known to swing through. And to be fair, there’s a lot to appreciate: it’s an easy stop if you’re heading north on I-5 after a night out, or commuting between downtown and the western neighborhoods. The lines are short, the service is fast, and it’s far more tolerable than the Capitol Hill outpost, where chaos reigns, parking’s a gamble, and the atmosphere’s gone to seed. But fast and cheap only gets you so far. I ordered a couple burgers and fries, and two minutes later I had a warm paper bag filled with soggy, barely edible food. The fries were limp and oily. The burgers? Lukewarm, soft, and utterly forgettable. Sure, it was only $11—but I’d rather pay double and actually enjoy what I’m eating. The crew looks like they’re trying, but the kitchen runs without direction. There’s no sign of a manager, no quality control, no attention to detail. It’s not a disaster, but it’s a letdown—especially for a chain with such a storied history. Dick’s needs to tighten things up. This isn’t about nostalgia—it’s about basic standards.

Google
This was recommended to me as a Seattle staple and it was great! Fast services and lots of flavor! Also the prices are awesome. For 3 burgers, 2 fries, and a soda (+water) it was barely over $25. Definitely worth the stop. The parking lot/traffic is a bit chaotic.

Google
DELICIOUS burgers fries shakes and sauce. The strawberry shake is killer. Burgers were awesome. Small... For me but mighty tasty. No tables so go in a car or sit on a patch of grass like we did and have a make shift picnic. One of the better fast burgers I've ever had... Even went back another day for another shake!!

Google
It's always a great service and very fast. The hamburgers and fries are of good quality. I recommend getting a milkshake.

Google
Dicks is a great place if you’re looking for a good cheap burger. The lines range from long to non existent depending on what time of day your go. If you get a cheeseburger I would get to because they generally small. I would think of it more as a meaty grilled cheese but it’s still delicious. Their fries are sometimes crispy and sometimes soggy. They’re very good though and when they’re soggy they’re almost more like crispy mash potatoes. All of the potatoes are grown in washington you can really taste the freshness. There milkshakes are very underrated I usually get the strawberry or vanilla.

Google
Old-school drive-in burger joint. Definitely something out of the 1950s. The deluxe cheeseburger was lovely. Fries were tasty. Next time I will have to try a milkshake. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for an old-school burger with no frills.

Google
Food is decent with its price and ambience is just for drive-in serving so can have the retro feel of eating in the car 🚗

Google
You gotta believe me when I say this: I drive by this place every single day, and every single day I tried to not make it a routine to get a nice fast but delicious burger, fries or shakes. However, there are some days that I treat myself with all the previous mentioned, and this location is my favorite to come! There are times where the lines are long, but hey, that’s always good for a business! I have gotten my food from here for almost 5 years and times to times being last 2 more recent, and sad I did not make a review before, but it’s never too late! Thank you for feeding out hungry bellies whenever we are down, just hungry, drunk or even to just spend some time in the car listening to 80s-90s songs while raining!!!! The crew who works here are truly committed to a great customer service always! Cheers to you and continue making history!

Yelp
Dick's Drive-In: A Classic Seattle Icon Dick's Drive-In is a Seattle institution, and for good reason. If you're looking for a quick, no-frills meal that hits the spot, this is the place to go. Their menu is simple yet iconic, featuring classic burgers, crispy fries, and creamy milkshakes that have stood the test of time. The burgers are fresh, perfectly cooked, and come with that nostalgic flavor that takes you back to the golden age of fast food. The fries are cut just right--crispy on the outside and fluffy inside--and pair wonderfully with one of their rich milkshakes, which come in a variety of flavors like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. The service is efficient, and while the lines can get long (especially during peak hours), they move quickly and are worth the wait. The retro vibe of the drive-in adds to the overall charm, making it not just a meal, but an experience. Whether you're a local or just visiting Seattle, Dick's Drive-In is a must-visit for a taste of classic Americana. It's affordable, delicious, and a true piece of Seattle's culinary history. Don't miss it!

Yelp
Quick service - Greasy goodness - Old school dinner prices Officially had my first bag of dicks! Cheapest food I've found in Seattle! Old school style burger and fries. Got the Dicks special which is a burger with lettuce, pickles, and mayo. Added ketchup mustard and onions that were an additional $0.20 each. Not much seating around but walked over to a nearby bench and enjoyed. It's not the best burger and fries I've ever had but prices you can't beat. Hit the spot. Worth coming to!

Yelp
This place reminded me of the original McDonald's in San Bernardino-Walk up ordering. Great food.

Yelp
Yummy bites and friendly staff even at late hours. This place is efficient and tasty. You really can't complain when it comes to consistency and their prices just can't be beat! Of course it has the old timey feel. I wish they had veg options other than fries but it's a crowd pleaser and seattle staple nonetheless!

Yelp
I really like Dicks drive in, prices are reasonable and they are not preachy like In-N-Outs with Bible verses on their wrappers.

Yelp
Things I love, and have always loved, about the Wallingford Dick's: - Near the U and open late (which was kinda dangerous back in my Greek Row days) - Affordable prices (not as affordable as in my U days but still) - Consistent, delicious burgers; mushy-but-tasty fries; best root beer float in town - It's so easy to get to on my way home in the northerly regions; great stop on the way home from a late night flight into SEA - Friendly staff and almost always lots of parking - Always a small opportunity for a local sealebrity sighting! Add to that the fact they finally take credit cards, and are slowly adding new items to their menu (while still keeping that tight rein on their offerings), means I'm a loyal customer for life. Don't ever change (too much) Dick's!

Diane P.

Yelp
Cheeseburger comparable to that of McD's this is the original location park and walk up only. No jndoor seating. Ate the very ok burgers and warm limpy fries in our car which was fine. Still kind of neat to be able to go to an original location that opened 70 years ago. Kudos to them for maintaining a successful business after all of that time.
google avatar

Yelp
If you like small and limp then Dicks is ur go to. $3.20 is not even a good price for this crap. Fries are solid as well as shakes
google avatar

Jinny C.

Yelp
You can't beat the vibes and prices at Dick's. I got a cheeseburger and a strawberry milkshake this time and they were the simple and old-fashioned flavors you'd expect and hope for. There was a semi-long line when I arrived on a Monday night but it moved quickly enough. The staff are friendly and efficient

Yelp
I don't understand why Dick's is famous among locals. The burgers taste worse than McDonald's. Then again, I didn't grow up here so I am not nostalgic. The food came out super fast. I got it as soon as I paid for it. The burger was a bit dry and not flavorful. It was super cheap though given all the recent food inflation. The place was clean and well lit with a security guard loitering by. I checked this off the Seattle bucket list. Probably won't be back.

Yelp
A truly bright spot in the world. Dick's Drive-In is someplace I wish I'd heard of sooner, and wish was at bare minimum closer to where I live. Let's start with the food. They've got a menu with limited variety and sizes, because they know the strength of their high quality food and portions. Their burgers are small, but fresh and more filling than most ANYWHERE! Their fries are hand-cut and cooked with sunflower oil, so expect real fresh potato flavor with a hint of sunflower seeds. I'm fairly sure I've never encountered fries like that. But their shakes were the standout. With only the basic three flavors, they impressed with the low price, high quality, great flavor, and thickness, being hand dipped and whipped. Which brings me to my main positive about this place, cheap prices. It was estimated $3-$5 for any of the burgers, $3 for their one size fry that is substantial enough, and around $3 for their shake. However, that is essentially it. They've got soda, but there was a tax on soda with sugar, and I have no idea what the context is for that. Their service is incredible. As I ordered, the food was placed in front of me. But don't misunderstand, they are always making food, and you're always getting fresh food. They are just busy, and also perfectly understand their demand. So they are ensuring they always have enough fresh food, so that you can have all your food by the time you're done ordering. As for the employees themselves, they're quiet and hard-working. Now, atmosphere is crazy. My friend walked to stand in line, and very loudly and ecstatically asked if we'd time travelled due to this looking like an old drive-in with cheap prices. (But clean, not literally an abandoned old drive-in. He was buzzed and bewildered.) For me, I did my research, so I wasn't shocked or loud. (I also don't drink, so I was not buzzed.) But I was impressed at the pleasant atmosphere, especially considering one of my favorite songs of all time was playing right as I walked up. There is no seating, and no indoor area. That is to be expected, if you ever have heard about a drive-in from your grandparents. My friend did not, so we sat in the car and he was disappointed until taking a bite of the delicious food. Also, they have a huge parking lot. What else can I say? They have some of the highest quality food you'll ever have, with probably the cheapest prices anywhere right now. They get the food to you fast, and they have a very unique atmosphere for present day. You'll feel like you've time travelled to the 1950s.

Yelp
It's a landmark and it's hard for me to fight that and the nostalgia I have for Dick's so I'm giving it a begrudging three stars. The wait to order was still as quick as I remember and the efficiency of it was still there. I don't know, maybe in my 20s it was funner or tastier but the deluxe was smaller than I remember, greasier than I recalled-and felt the next day and thankfully I was in a rental car because it was a pretty messy affair. I think in the years since other fast casual burger places have come up, Dick's has just nostalgia to fall back on.

David A.

Yelp
Who doesn't love Dicks deluxe burgers! Seattle's (better) version of in-and-out. Order at the window, and they put your burger and fries together right away and youre eating in minutes! You must try Dicks!
google avatar

Aqeel T.

Yelp
Super cheap and affordable for a late night snack/meal, got my food and milkshake pretty quickly and the lines weren't too long. There's no outdoor seating so I ate my food in the car while watching the sausage being made. Their burgers and chocolate milkshake are amazing!
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Smells like teen spirit here at this Seattle institution. Busy in the sunshine, even busier when raining. You don't come here necessarily for lunch or dinner. He calls you to come at all times throughout the day or sleepless at night. With the inevitable credit card acceptance, gone are the days when every employee was a math wizard and added up your total instantly in their head at the end of your order. That was always impressive. Though times have changed, the courteous service the delish burgers & fries & shakes have remained the same.
google avatar

Laura V.

Yelp
Have been here about 15 times. Although I am not a fan, people around me me request these burgers, The hamburgers are bland and greasy. The fries are undercooked and limp. The shakes lack any flavor of what you are ordering; the worst chocolate shake I have ever had. Absolutely no chocolate flavor at all. Only come here to appease people who have heard these burgers are a Seattle favorite. I do appreciate the Wages and benefits they give their workers. They also seem to donate to Seattle causes. Unfortunately, I dislike their mediocre food.
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
One of my favorite burger place!! I always have to order a strawberry shake when I am here. Even though you're waiting in a long line, you'll get to order in no time!! I cannot forget to add that the food always comes out quick, too.
google avatar

Drew J.

Yelp
It's legendary. It still lives up to the legend. After, Dicks is the place where the cool hang out. There aren't a lot of choices on the menu. But if this is your first time at Dicks, go with the dicks deluxe Fries with ketchup and tartar Chocolate Shake
google avatar

C V.

Yelp
A couple deluxe burgers and side of fries always hits the spot. Lines aren't too long so it's a quick pick me up when you are on the go.
google avatar

Gerry L.

Yelp
First time at this popular burger place. I knew it was going to be good bc it was nonstop busy. I would definitely compare this place to In-N-Out. All they serve is burgers, fries and shakes and other ice cream products. The double burger was very good, but small. I would almost compare it to the size of a regular McDonald's hamburger, but better of course. No tomatoes too. We also tried to order one burger with no pickles/relish but they said they don't take special orders (huh?), so you can only have it their way. The beef patties are definitely fresh. The star of the show is definitely their french fries. They serve them well done and they are very good. Fresh cut potatoes are the way to go. This place was definitely good but In-N-Out, Now that's "what a hamburger is all about"!
google avatar

Billy D.

Yelp
Fast and efficient. It's a Seattle staple. Depending on what time you come you will get a show for people watching. This location is near UW so it can get crowded at night The food is consistent and good. We all have our go to items. The workers are always nice and Dick's treats their employees well.
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
19¢ cent cheeseburger or hamburger special!!! What a fun special! Although lines were LONG, service was so quick that it went by very quickly. You can choose either a hamburger or cheeseburger, either plain or original. No other substitutions. Service is seriously instantaneous! We also ordered a double scoop of mint chocolate chip and peppermint ice cream. It came with both a cone and cup. There is lots of parking available in their private lot. There is no seating/dine in available.

Yelp
Fun fact. THIS Dicks Drive-In is the very first Dicks Drive-In! It's true - "the morning of January 28, 1954, the first Dick's Drive-In opened for business on N.E. 45thStreet in the Wallingford District of Seattle" (From the Dick's Drive-in website) So this particular Dick's is kinda historic. Many of you know I love my history and..burgers. That all out of the way, Dick's strongest draw is that it's cheap. Yeah, in my visit I got a couple of deluxe's (Double cheeseburgers), a shake and fries for about $20. From there Dick's goes a bit limp (no pun intended). additional condiments are $0.20 each. I understand the extra asking price but it's still kinda lame when at other places you can load up on ketchup to your content. Consistency is a bit off. One deluxe was soggy and not as hot. The following one was significantly better, but not great. The fries were also just alright and not crispy in the least. The Shake was cold and tasted ok but was soupy and had not thickness to it. So overall it was pretty flat. I've had worse burgers, and many may well know you're coming to Dick's for a quick and cheap burger fix, that you take right to your car or to the curb and chow down. I won't say I'll give up on Dick's but I wouldn't make it my first option.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Dick's is to WA as In-N-Out is to CA, and Whataburger to TX. I think it's better than Whataburger's burgers, but In-N-Out has better fries and burgers than both. Dick's is the quickest out of the three with halfway decent burgers, but their fries are a limpier than In-N-Out. You can't customize Dick's like the other two, but I'd come back for a late night bite. Summary: this is Seattle's staple for food that's cheap and fast.
google avatar

Kelsey G.

Yelp
Yep, it's greasy, it's fatty, it is deeelicious. The milkshakes are amazing and burgers are solid. They're quick and they're consistent and they pay their people well. What more could you want?

Dr P.

Yelp
Idk how people say "this sucks", this was literally the best thing I've ever tasted. The workers were nice, and the location was also kinda cool. (I visited Washington recently and tried this for the first time)
google avatar

Jess B.

Yelp
Great value, great vibes, delicious food. Quick, affordable- I get dicks every time I'm in Seattle
google avatar

Niya Z.

Yelp
Well, if it weren't for the Operation course project, our group would have gone to Dick's together, and I wouldn't have volunteered to eat it, but if you haven't, please do go and experience it, because after all, it's an icon of Seattle's local culture, and has been named "Seattle's Best Burger". like In-and-Out for LA people, Shake Shack for New Yorkers The beef is 100% unfrozen fresh beef delivered on the same day by local farmers, so it's very juicy, but the price is affordable, and the shake is very good, not very cold, but sweet and smooth enough.
google avatar

Karl A.

Yelp
Dick's is a Seattle must try. Besides the lightning fast service and great prices, this is a classically good fast food burger. Not to mention all the great jokes you and your friends will be cracking the whole way home. The Dick's Deluxe is almost a meal, I need to supplement it with another burger to hit peak fullness. The fries are always great and a shake is just the sweetness needed to balance it all out!

Alisabeth D.

Yelp
I love this place and have been going here since I was 15, so over 40 years. I love the greasy burgers and fries. But today was the first time I had bad service. The woman wears glasses and dreads and is in Wally but she just seemed miserable. She was rude and maybe shouldn't be in customer service. For a two minute interaction, I suggest a different job.
google avatar

Mia K.

Yelp
It's nostalgia. Of course prefer a heartier burger, but sometimes Dick's can really satisfies with cheap, fast, good enough burgers, handcut limpy fries & thick shakes. A taste and experience from the past with their old signage, building and walk-up window. . Not too many places are opened until 2am. Easy to eat in the car as originally intended or take it to go. No inside seating but can park in their relatively large Seattle parking lot. Iconic Seattle burger chain with 9 locations within the greater Seattle area. This is the site of the original Dick's drive-in that opened in 1954 by Dick Spady with a simple menu that has barely expanded since then. The company is known to be generous to their employees and that alone is worth giving them some business. Burgers Plain Hamburger one patty, no condiments $1.90 Hamburger one patty, ketchup, mustard $2 Plain Cheeseburger one patty, cheese, no condiments $2.20 Cheeseburger one patty, cheese, ketchup, mustard $2.35 Dick's Special* one patty, lettuce, mayo, chopped pickles $2.60 Dick's Deluxe 1/4lb beef, cheese, lettuce, mayo, chopped pickles $4.35 Extra Condiments $.20 Fries $2.30 Shakes chocolate, strawberry, vanilla $3.20 Located -on the south side of 45th between 1st & 2nd Ave N

Yelp
Dick's is always amazing. It's cheap, they treat their employees well, and it's a good fast food throwback. The only con is that a lot of weird people hang out by Dick's and sometimes it can get overwhelming.

Yelp
What can I say about Dick's Drive-In? They are VERY VERY VERY BUSY!!!! We visited close to 11pm, and the place was hopping with customers. Seriously, there were at least 6 people lined up at each of the walk-up windows. I believe there were at least 6 lines. Pretty darn impressive! They cook up some decent food at affordable prices. My Cheeseburger was okay. My Strawberry shake was also alright. Honestly, I was not impressed with the food at this Seattle institution. I would not go out of my way to come here again. Still, I'm happy that I had the opportunity to try them for myself. You should as well.

Yelp
I Just got to my hotel after buying a Dick's deluxe cheese burger, fries and chocolate shake 10 minutes ago. I haven't been to Dick's since I moved from the city years ago, I had great expectations. I saw the burgers they were making and they looked pretty good. Those burgers must be for tomorrow because what i found in my bag was obviously made yesterday. Dry, tasteless burger? patties on a flat dry bun. Hardly any sauce or lettuce. I could barely eat it. The fries were greasy, limp and unappetizing. The milkshake tasted real though. The cost was over $15 but they had erroneously tossed in a plain burger so maybe it would have been cheaper if they got the order right. Dick's, like so many other classic restaurants have gone the wayside.... Sigh.
google avatar

Denny A.

Yelp
Dick's added a plain cheeseburger a couple of years ago, answering my primary criticism! I wish the Deluxe burger also was available plain, but as someone who dislikes mayo and mustard, I'm just glad I can now enjoy a burger there along with their excellent fries and milkshakes!
google avatar

Yelp
Butterscotch sundae. Bomb. This might be one of the few places that has butterscotch as a sundae topping. Most places carry caramel.

Yelp
It's Dick's. If you like Dick's burgers, you'll like this location. If you do not, you won't. Oddest Dick's location I've seen so far. Kind of hidden in the back of Crossroads Mall. Still, they've managed to capture the Dick's walk up look and feel (more of the feel than the look). Food is spot on.

Yelp
If you're from Seattle, you know that Dick's Drive-In is an institution. And let me tell you, it lives up to the hype. First off, the atmosphere of the drive-in is just so classic and fun. It's got that old-school vibe that makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. The staff are all super friendly and efficient too, which is impressive given how busy it can get. But let's talk about the real star of the show - the food. Y'all, Dick's burgers are pretty good. They're simple, no-frills burgers, but they're cooked to perfection - juicy and flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. The fries are also really tasty - crispy and golden-brown. And the best part? The prices are seriously reasonable. You can get a full meal for just a few bucks, which is pretty amazing considering the quality of the food. Overall, if you're a Seattle native or just passing through, you absolutely have to check out Dick's Drive-In. It's a Seattle institution for a reason, and it's easy to see why. The atmosphere, staff, and food are all top-notch, and it's just a really fun and classic Seattle experience. Don't miss out!

Yelp
Damn delicious. Yeah, I said it. I've been hearing about Dick's Drive In for years. Frankly, it's never been on my list of places to go, food to enjoy, must have in Seattle list. After enjoying one of their burgers, I'm wondering why it hasn't been on my list. Dicks is a local favorite, and apparently has been around for decades. If you know, you know. If you don't, I'm here to help you out... for those of you that think that the California based In-N-Out Burger is the be-all to end-all, I'm here to tell you you need to try dicks drive-in. Diners tip: their approach to how they make their food, it's similar to that Seinfeld episode with the soup man. You get what you get, and you don't have a fit. There's absolutely no changing the way they make their burgers. You order the way you see it on the menu. I'm here to tell you, I always get my burgers without lettuce, and in this case, did not have a choice. Everything about my cheeseburger was absolutely fantastic. This is totally cheap eats, but really good eats. The prices are so freaking unbelievably low, you'll probably end up staring at the menu sign thinking that you may have read the price's wrong. I ordered the deluxe cheeseburger. It's a quarter pounder burger that's made into two individual patties. If you are a hearty eater, you can easily down a couple of those bad boys. The fries are even fabulous. The fry order by itself is relatively small so if you're not interested in something super huge, it's definitely the perfect meal. So I mention how incredibly delicious the cheeseburger was?! They call it chopped pickles but I'm pretty sure it's some type of relish mixed in as part of the condiments they put on the burger. Whatever it is, just eat the damn thing because it's so delicious. They definitely have options on the menu if you are a food wuss, and you just want basic/plain. The one thing that made me laugh is that they impose what apparently is a local ordinance tax when you buy a soft drink that has sugar in it. Yes, if you order a diet drink, you don't pay the sugar fee. I really wanted to try one of the shakes. The person next to me ordered one, and it looked divine. Everything that they serve is made in house. Yes, fresh ingredients, all house made, and so super inexpensive you will want to die in there every day!

Yelp
Perfect place to get some cheap burgers. I'm a small girl and I had to eat two cheeseburgers and some fries to feel full. The cheese is melty and service is fast. The strawberry milkshake is also really delicious. Definitely would come again for some late night munchies/easy meal. There is no seating anywhere so we just sat in the car and ate.

Yelp
Come here for your bag of Dicks. Leave knowing you'll be satisfied. It is what it is. The deluxes were 4 something and fries were 2 something, which is a lot more expensive than I used to remember years ago but hey times have changed I guess. Food is still great and for some reason this time the fries were like exceptionally tasty and not as flaccid as I'm used to. Guy's behind the window were super prompt and nice as usual.

Yelp
After a great experience in Spokane, I was beyond disappointed that the Seattle store would not give us a burger without a bun. I have a gluten intolerance and have eaten their burgers for years in Spokane. If I could give them a negative rating I would. Seriously, how hard is it to wrap it in lettuce or just give us the burger? Stay away.

Yelp
Wow, I go to Dick's often and want to like this place. For the amount they pay their employees the French Fries should never be completely soggy and lacking salt. I just spoke to the manager wo gave me two excuses why their fries were so bad today. First it's because I took them home and their "fries don't last that long" .... Um I ate those soggy oil sponges on the way home. Second, "the potatoes aren't that good this time of year" .... how abot you take ownership that you overcooked and under seasoned the fries.

Yelp
Dick's is a Seattle staple! As a Bay Area native, In N Out is still better, but Dick's is a different vibe! Dick's is a go-to late night munchies meal :) or just a quick grab to eat (usually). I came by relatively late, around midnight, and there was a bit of a crowd, so it took close to 15-20 min to actually get food on hand and out of the lot. I opted to get 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fries and a large drink (there's still the sugar tax in WA) and the "large" drink looked really small to me haha..maybe was given a wrong size. Still, fries are a lot better than In N Out. The deluxe is the two patty two cheese burger, but the mayo (sauce) is what throws me off. It is a weird sweet/tangy taste that is definitely acquired, so I just stick to the cheeseburgers. Parking lot out front, usually should not have an issue. Good spot for a quick bite! Yelp
A PNW staple, a must try at least once. It's a decent burger, good fries, and I wasn't a huge fan of the milkshake.

Yelp
This is one of the worst hamburgers I have ever had. The dicks deluxe was dry and flavorless. Fries were pretty good but soggy.

Yelp
This is my fave burger place of all time! I know other people are into their In-n-Out and other burger chains or non-chains, but Ducks burgers have always won my heart. I've tried both the Deluxe and the cheeseburger and they're now my go-to. The bread has always been soft and warm, the beef patty is just the right thickness and it's flavorful and the condiments are just the right amount. With all that said, everything just works well together. Every bite is so scrumptious! Most other burgers are either too oily, too salty, have too much sauce or not enough sauce, etc. I also love their fries and their milkshakes! I've brought friends from out of town here and they all loved this place!

Yelp
OMG! Please bring Dick's to San Antonio, Texas! We went here after a night out as it was recommended and it was soooo good! It is really quick drive in food so don't have high expectations, but I loved it!! And it felt so nostalgic being outside with all those people waiting for their food. It was really awesome. I crave them all the time!

Yelp
Some of the greatest burgers in Seattle are at Dick's drive-in. Every time I go, I go for the Dicks deluxe. The staff are very nice to me. I go here to this location twice a week! If I had to give it a lesser rating, it's only because there isn't anywhere for me to plug in my iPhone. How else can I check my stats, Facebook my friends, and enjoy my milkshake? Just something to think about. Keep it up guys! See you Monday!
